Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

This week was my “make no excuses” week of couponing.  I normally go to the stores on Wednesday morning, but I had no time to gather coupons before going out.  My purpose is to get unadvertised deals, so I still went but bought nothing.  Then I decided while typing all the unadvertised deals up that it was just too good of a week to not shop!  So that night I loaded up all 5 girls and we went by ourselves to Publix to Target.  This was my first solo trip shopping with everyone and it helped that I was super organized.  It also helped that I had bribed them with half priced sonic cones when we done…

For Publix I grabbed the Evolution Juice deal, Special K deal, and a number of other deals.  You can see my shopping list here with everything we got.

Publix Totals:

Total Value Purchased: $191.09
Total Spent: $71.43
Total Saved: $119.66 or 63%

Rebates & Apps Submitted for:
$20 Publix Gift Cards (2 Special K deals)
$14.25 various mobile apps and SavingStar

While I don’t count the apps into our budget, it makes me pretty excited to get almost $200 worth of groceries for $37 after those!  That’s equal to an 81% savings!! I’ve already submitted everything and gotten emails that my two Publix gift cards are on their way.

Target Totals:

Total Value Purchased: $85.02
Total Spent: $55.73 (only $5.73 out of pocket)
Total Saved: $29.29

Gift Cards Back: $30

I technically paid with $50 in Target gift cards from deals we got a few weeks ago. So from out budget it was only $5.73!  I love using past gift cards to pay for this weeks gift card deals.

Tip: If you are heading out this week to Target look for Pumpkins in the fruit/vege section.  They have pumpkins on sale for $1.99.

Weekly Totals:

Total Value Purchased: $276.11
Total Spent: $77.16

Rebates Back: $34.25
