This was a no shopping week for us.  We spent a week eating from the freezer and the pantry and really didn’t need anything.  Another reason we didn’t shop is that I always feel the last week of the month is never a big deal week.  Stores tend to know that most folks are out of money before payday and they save the big deals for the weeks they hope you’ll get into the store and spend more.

After eating out of our stockpile this week, we will have a fun shopping week next week, so I’m glad to have the budget saved to help towards all the purchases coming!

How was your savings this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

I got a great deal at publix.  I made 4 seperate stops at 4 local publix stores in my area. I was driving past them all anyway and did not want to take more than my share of coupons from any one store. All together I scored 50 cans of Progresso canned soup.  They regulary sell for $2.39 each (would be $119.50 before taxes) They were on sale 4 for $6 and the store had coupons for $1 off each can. I only paid 50 cents per can before taxes. So I got 50 cans of Progresso soup for $25 + tax  Not a bad week

See if you can find the $1/4 coupons! lol. Publix will give you back the money if it’s within a couple days. At least, my publix let’s me bring back missed coupons within 2 days..

Okay, I think you totally convinced me. For the past several months I’ve been wanting to implement a no-shop week out of the month. Just one week where we didn’t go grocery shopping, and ate out of whatever we happened to have. I just didn’t know when to do it, or if it was really going to make any difference. I think you’re right about the last week of the month not being a big deal week. I always seem to have a short list. I’m planning to try this out at the end of this month.

Okay, how on earth do you manage this?? I have weeks where shopping is minimal and we eat from our stockpile but I always need milk, bread, fresh apples, etc.

      •  We freeze milk and bread to have extras.  If I didn’t freeze it we would be back at the store every other day with the amount of milk my girls drink!

What do you consider the last week of the month? Does the grocery week go from Wed. through Tues.?  For groceries I consider the last week of the month for July to end on 7/31 because I consider Wed. 8/1 a new week for groceries. I didn’t shop at all last week ending 7/31 but shopped Wed. to get the Coke promo at HT B2G3 plus get $4 when you buy 4 Coke products ending up paying 1.08 per .5L 6-pack bottles. Couldn’t pass that up.

I really wonder Jenny how on earth you are able to do all the great work you do being pregnant and with three beautiful kids? I had a baby three months ago and so desperately want to come back for couponing but not able to yet. Please any advice on this like how to get back and if you have any plans like how many months are you planning to take a break?

Please your response will be greatly appreciated. And thanks a ton for all the great work you do so we all can save some money.

When it asked for the name, I thought it meant mine lol. Am I able to change it from “Katie” to “Spent $13.33, Saved $453.31”?
