We took another week off from the store except for little trips for the basics like Milk & Bread.  It is a joy to have basically anything you need to make most of your favorite meals.   My favorite this week was a Sunday roast that was so large for our family that we turned it into 3 other different meals.  First a roast, then Sandwiches and then BBQ.  There is still a ton left over, so if you want to drop in let me know and we’ll have a bbq sandwich ready for you.

Publix:
Total before sales and coupons: $33.71
Total Spent: $21.20
Total Saved: $12.51

This was a couple trips put together all for little items, and then a trip today to make a basket for a friends hotel room.  Even if you don’t use coupons on everything it is still wonderful to have room in your budget for fun surprises for others. (Yes I could have made it with everything from things at home… that was the plan, but I went out and left it and wasn’t going to burn two hours of my day to run home and then go back out).

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

Thanks for the linky! I love your new look! Even on my small weeks, I still end up spending big compared to you. My family is addicted to OJ, Lactose Free Milk and Lemonade….and that sure adds up.

I LOVE to make Roasts! They really can stretch through the week and have so many different recipes to make it special! They are super easy in the crock pot!

Try some BBQ Nachos during the game with the leftovers! Yum!

I did a little bit more shopping today.

At Kroger I spent $.31 (all tax) and saved $37.56 or 99%. I “bought” Van Camp beans (free with coupon) and Shamrock Farms milk (free with raincheck and coupon).

At Rite Aid I spent $2.06 ($1.10 tax) and saved $35.98 or 94%. I used $4 +up and earned $8 and will be getting $1.99 SCR.

I Just started this couponing and I luv it… I honestly spent over
$800.00 a month on grocery’s for my family of 5.. Of course my
children are teenagers and active in sports.. My children say
this is a crazy addiction I just started.. But I keep telling them
just wait and see what I am gonna be able 2 save..

My best was $15.33 worth of goods for $2.84 at Walgreens using $4 in RR (getting none back, unfortuntly)

Still wondering what people spend for their family per week for food and household goods..

      • kelli

My budget for the month is $100, or about $25/week….

But I try to spend a net total of as close to $0/month on my family as I can. It's just me and my hubby, no kids or pets, so that helps out a lot. I buy what's free and I stock up on whatever we'll use. I try to make money off of whatever I can from rebates (SCRs and MIRs). I donate/give away a lot of stuff.

Can anybody get the Mueller's coupon to print and fit on a page – I have tried landscape, clicking on another part of the coupon – no luck.

      • Tricia

landscape it and shrink it 40%

    • $savin'some$

i just noticed it seems like a ton of coupons on SS right now say no doubling or tripling. that stinks!

    • NancyMac

I just got from Target where I found a pair of rain boots on clearance from $24.99 down to $6.26. I debated about them because I did not plan on buying anything like that today, but decided that I would probably NEVER see a pair of rain boots that I like again for that price, so I bought them. It is nice to have room in your budget for surprises like that!

    • Thanks for the linky, I love checking out everyone's great deals for the week! :)
