This week was sick week in our house.  My girls brought home a cold and shared it with every person in the house.  I ran out for the sales, but didn’t really use any coupons (maybe 2).  I did manage to save almost 50% though and got a ton of produce.

The one joy of old sick week was that my stock pile had everything we needed in terms of medicine!

Publix
Total Value: $103.31
Total Spent: $54.61
Total Saved: $48.70 or 47%

I grabbed:
apples, cantaloupe, strawberries, carrots, broccoli bunch
(2) orange juice cartons
milk, 1 gal.
(2) chocolate milk, half gal., (had coupons attached to it and I couldn’t pass up the deal)
20 bags of birds eye frozen veggies (all 50% off)

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

This week at CVS the cashier handed me my receipt and says, “and we paid you to come in today” Such a great feeling!

Wow!  That’s a very healthy shopping trip.  I love seeing savings when healthy food is a majority of the trip!  Hope your family is feeling better!

    • One of my favorite things about couponing is having medicine when I’m sick, so I don’t have to go out all sick and buy it!

Your shopping sounds like mine, we love apples so I spend a ton on produce each week!

If you are new…I recommend you choose ONE drug store and ONE grocery store.  (The one drug store is the most important! and my preference is CVS) Everything goes on sale at every store…eventually…this keeps you from going to LOTS of stores and wasting time…this advise is from the person who told me the same thing ….but I didn’t listen…and you probably won’t either…but when you do “get it” pass it on…they won’t listen either…but we have to keep trying!

Today was my best shopping yet – paid $84, saved $114, plus I got two $10 gift cards to Publix! We came home with tons of food. I have been so blessed to have Southern Savers, and so has my budget!

    • My 2nd couponing trip ever was on Wednesday.  I went to Harris Teeter and spent $48.37 but saved $50.28.

      I’m hooked.

A good thing for colds: grapefruit seed extract. It’s the nastiest tasting stuff but if you stir it into sweet tea you can hardly taste it. It’s apparently really good for your immune system, you take it when you feel like you’re going to get a cold. Too bad there aren’t coupons for that stuff!

My deal of the week was I went to staples and bought the Lexmark Pro 705. It is regular 199 it was on sale for 119 traded in old printer that I had it garage that someone has given me thar took off 50 dollars. It is on sale this morning at office depot for 99.00 which staple said I had 16 days that they match prices so I am going back to get my 20.00. I tried to get them to the the 10 off 50 but they said the 50.00 was the only one I could use. So I will end up paying 49.99 for a 199.99 printer. But maybe if you go to office depot they might let you trade and use the 10 of 50 coupons just have to find something for aat least 1.00 to make it over 50.00

I saved almost 52% at Harris Teeter.  I stocked up on condiments, milk, cat litter, air freshener and lots of other great stuff.  I spent 77.51 and saved 71.68.
