My goal this week was to make it another week without big shopping trips.  We succeed but did make two quick stops, one to Rite Aid and one to Food Lion (a rare day indeed).  I went to Rite Aid exclusively to grab the Huggies deal and free toothpaste, and to test out the Plenti point system.  Running a deal site it does help to know the programs…

First my verdict is still out on the Plenti system though I do like that points don’t expire for two years and that I can earn them at Rite Aid and then use them on gas at Exxon and Mobile stations.  I’m probably going to end up doing that more than using them at Rite Aid (I rarely ever go since I’m so in love with CVS).

Rite Aid:

Total Value Purchased: $30.47
Total Spent: $19.47
Total Saved: $11

Points Earned: 500 (equals $5 off)

That makes it less than $5 per pack of diapers after the money back (plus a free tube of toothpaste).  I also loaded a 500 point offer when you purchase $25 in products at Rite Aid offer from the main Plenti site.  I’m still waiting to see if I will get those points of top of the Huggies points we earned.  If we do… then this is one very amazing deal!

Food Lion:

Total Value Purchased: $37.99
Total Spent: $21.63
Total Saved: $16.36

We went in for Milk, Orange Juice and produce.  Food Lion must have known our shopping list because the coupon printer at the front entrance printed a coupon for $4 off any $20 in produce!  I wasn’t going to get quite that much if you are going to give me free produce, I’ll take it.  As far as deals go, they really did have some good prices this week with Strawberries for $1.99, Cantaloupes for $1.50, Pineapples for $1.99 and a few other things.  We stocked up and will be set on fruit for a while!

I’m hoping to stretch our pantry one more week before we get back into coupon trips.  Next week we already have one big event on the calendar… Mary’s casts come off and she gets fitted for braces!
