I’m cutting it close on the deals this week, having just finished shopping less than 30 minutes ago!  This week was spent in the air going between home and L.A. and back again.  I was only there for 28 hours but the traveling feels like 4 days it takes so long to get to the west coast and back.  I had a great time being back stage and part of the taping for an upcoming episode of FabLife with Tyra Banks.

Meanwhile back at home, they managed to eat everything in the fridge and got a little desperate.  Keep in mind they have a fully stocked pantry and freezer but for some reason folks only look in the fridge to find food…  It’s okay I like knowing that I’m needed around here.

For shopping I went to Publix and Target.

To start with the smallest purchase, we needed dog food and couldn’t pass up the great Iams deal.

Total Value Purchased: $71.96
Total Spent: $37.56 (paid with target gift cards from a few weeks ago)Total Saved: $34.40
Got Back: $20 in Target Gift Cards

I like treat Target like a 4th drugstore.  We rarely buy anything other than the gift card deals, so I use the past trips gift cards to pay for next weeks deals.  While many times I do still owe a little bit of money I like the trips that end up being nothing out of pocket!!  With two large dogs 60 lbs of dog food for free is a great deal!

Next up was Publix (they are in the same shopping center with Target so hitting two stores is pretty easy).  This was a larger trip, but for fun I turned it into math for the day for my older girls and made them do all the work.  Print the coupons, cut, organize…  I liked the break and is something we will have to do again!  You can see my shopping list here.

Total Value Purchased: $116.51
Total Spent: $41.90
Total Saved: $74.61 or 64%
