This week was the first week of school for us.  That doesn’t mean that I round every up and load them in the car, but instead for our homescooling ways it means that I haven’t seen my dining table all week and my sink is filled with dishes (so is the counter too).  I did get out to “walk stores” as my children call it.  Every Wednesday I walk Publix and Bi-Lo to find unadvertised deals and normally do my shopping too.  This week I didn’t have time to get coupons together so we just focused on produce and clearance finds.

Remember if you grab a clearance deal and don’t have the coupons that many stores will take your coupons with the receipt the next time you come back to the store.

I was almost through with both stores when I stumbled onto the clearance deal of the month for us.  My husbands favorite toilet paper (yes somethings are important to a person) is on clearance at Bi-Lo 50% off!  This same 16 roll pack is on sale at Target starting Sunday for $9.99, so grabbing it for $5.99 and $4.89 a pack is pretty awesome.  Plus there are 35¢ coupons that double in Bi-Lo so taking the coupons back today I got back $5.60 today on the card I paid with.

Yeah so that’s all I bought plus some apples and grapes.  My husband thinks I’m crazy, but he also knows how things work so he hasn’t laughed to loud.

Total Value Purchased: $95.92
Total Spent (after coupons later): $40.52
Total Saved: $55.40 or 58%

That’s $38 for 112 double rolls of toilet paper or 33.4¢ per roll.  To compare you could get 48 rolls on Amazon for $25 (52¢ per roll) right now.

P.S. Don’t worry I left tons at both stores. I grabbed 4 rolls the first time and then 4 more at another store when I went back with the coupons.
