I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve shopped in Food Lion in the past 5 years.  There are a number of them in our area, but they just aren’t known for having great sales.  Sorry if you work there…  This week though they are the winner!

While the sale doesn’t sound that wowing, Buy 2 Get 1 Free isn’t normally as big of a discount as a Buy 1 Get 1, most of the items that are participating are also on sale.  So B2G1 when it’s already 20-30% off makes for a great price!

Here’s my shopping list of what we grabbed.

Food Lion Totals:

Total Value: $233.17
Total Spent: $80.56
Total Saved: $152.61 or 65% off

I also couldn’t resist the Publix Detergent deal (that ends tonight).  It was a tiny trip but with big savings!

Publix Totals:

Total Value: $37.96
Total Spent: $7.96
Total Saved: $30 or 80% off

I’m over budget, but probably could take a week off we bought so much this week!
