Last week we had the thrill of finding a freezer filled with thawed food.  I know many of you have had the same moment.  It’s frustrating to think of all the wasted money and time.  The freezer had a part that stopped working so it wasn’t from a not helpful kiddo that didn’t shut the door.  We called and were a bit shocked to learn it was still under warranty.  The best part though… it had a $250 food loss coverage policy!!

The week before Thanksgiving is probably one of the best weeks to start re-stocking a freezer.  I took our $250 gift card and we couponed it hard!  We got a ton of stuff so much so that my 3 year old was pushing her own shopper-in-training buggy loaded full too.

I decided to use most of the gift card today, not just for us but to help a few families that are getting to move back into their homes in another week after losing everything in the floods.  With canned goods, spices and so many other really good deals this week it was perfect to help us and others get restocked!

Bi-Lo Totals

Purchase Value: $469.46
Total Spent: $213.79
Total Saved: $255.67 or 55% off

We still have $36 left in the gift card and will use that towards a case of fresh chicken at the US Foods chef store.   While I wouldn’t choose to lose a freezer full of food, it was a fun way to end a not so happy thing.  I have a working freezer again and lots of food for us and three other families!
