After much suspense I get to share how great our week was.

I am amazed at how many entries there were: over 8600 guesses!  Thanks for being so receptive to the new form, we learned very quickly that our server could not handle the load of everyone commenting so I got creative fast.

First the picture was taken in Kroger.  So how much was the buggy worth?

Total Value: $216.56

Total Spent: $76.75 ($50 on Kroger Gift Card so only $26.75 out of pocket!)
Total Saved: $139.81

I did 7 transactions for the Mega Event at the same time and then added in a lot of fruit and a few not on sale items for a special Birthday Dinner for my husband. (I knew I had the gift card so it was nice to splurge a little).

Publix
Total Value: $168.58
Total Spent: $64.57
Total Saved: $104.01

Weekly Total
Total Value: $385.14
Total Spent out of pocket: $91.32
Total Saved: $293.82

Remember we haven’t gone grocery shopping all month, so this is a bit more than we would normally spend but we had extra saved from past weeks.

I was so close!!! I guessed 217 exactly!!!

      • Bobbie

That’s what I guessed and thought I had won. LOL Then saw that I had went over by only a few cents. Oh well.

    • RebeccaF

Wow!!!! Congrats to you lucky winners and great guessing! I was way off but I did figure out it was Kroger's when I did a search on the site to see where those items were on deal this week, lol. Does that count for anything Jenny? Seriously though, thanks for the fun! What a great idea! :D

    • Dug

      Congratulations,Winners!

    • zombiemommy

Jenny how amazing is it that you had 8600 guesses? You are doing a great job and I pray you are able to balance all this busyness..Don't know how you do it.You must have a supportive husband and support team. Whenever I talk about coupons to people in public or at church I always write your blog down on my card next to my blog! Because you and one other are wear I learn the most

    • jessica1970

Amen, zombiemommy. This website has truly been a blessing for my family. I can't imagine how much time and effort Jenny puts into this site, but I sure am glad she does!

    • brodybugsmomma

There must of been A LOT hidden in that cart. What else was in there that we couldn't see? Just curious.

    • Annamarie

I wish we still had krogers!! I did pretty good at ingles but 1 trip killed my totals since I needed toddler food that I had no coupons for. I made a trip to Lowes, 3 trips to ingles and went to CVS for the protein bars…
      Spent $103
      Saved $151.15

There are 6 in our family and so far my weekly spending avg is $85. We get WIC for the 2 small kids so that helps too but I don’t include that in my totals.

    • SavLucEvMommy

At Kroger, I spent $39 and saved $117. This was 77 percent savings! I was so excited, and the man behind me in life was SO impressed! lol

    • traci

For all the publix shoppers. I need some help. On the Huggies deal this week. If I buy 2 boxes of Huggies at 19.99

Can I use (2)3.00 off in ad q
      (2)2.00 manf q

and also use $10.00 off 2 Huggies boxes from the Baby Club.

I know this is not in the Publix section, but there were so many comments there.

      Thanks

    • Foxfunds

An in ad Q is considered a store Q, so is the Baby Club Q – so I would choose the $10/2 Q.

      • traci

        Thanks so much!

    • Foxfunds

And way to go everyone!! Congrats!! And Jenny – Thanks again for sharing your knowledge – I knew lots of people read your site for tips on savings – but now we know…wow!!

    • Sarah

This was my first month back in the swing of couponing. I’m really proud of the results, and my pantry and freezer are so stocked I think I’ll do really well in February. I am shopping for a family of 8 and used to spend $400/week or more on groceries. My goal for this month was at least 50% savings. Here are my results: Total spent:$1,123, Total saved: $1,175 (51%)!!! I averaged $224.60/week – this included 2 huge days at Food Lion where I stocked up on their private brand sale. $150 of my expenses overall were from that. All in all my grocery budget is $175.40/week below budget. Yea!!!!

I had an amazing week at Kroger and not such a good week at Rite Aid. Overall, I’m happy.

      Kroger
      Total Value: $361.72
      Total Spent: $7.35
Total Saved: $334.37 or 97.9% plus I still have a $5 catalina coupon from Kraft, I’ve got a $1 catalina coupon that someone left behind at the uscan (I was glad to take it), and I’ve got a $10 gift card from the Scan Right Guarantee for the $5 Mega Sale discount not coming off twice.

      Food Lion
      Total Value: $7.15
      Total Spent: $3.16
      Total Saved: $3.99 or 79%

      CVS
      Total Value: $78.21
      Total Spent: $2.25 (all tax)
Total Saved: $75.96 or 97%, I did spent $27 more extra bucks then I got back but I bought some stuff for my mom and she’s giving me cash ($35) back! woo!

      Rite Aid
      Total Value: $115.47
      Total Spent: $14.90*
      Total Saved: $100.47
      * They refused 2 of my $5 coupons for Nature’s Bounty. First they said that I couldn’t use 2 coupons on a BOGO item, then they said they couldn’t take the coupon because it’s for 1 cent over the cost. I have to go back and talk to the manager on Monday. If they don’t take the $10 in coupons (or at least $9.98), I will be returning the items.

      Weekly Total
      Total Value: $562.45
      Total Spent: $27.66
      Total Saved: $534.79 or 95%!

      • kelli
