This is probably not the right place to ask this, but I wasn’t sure where else to ask (is there a “general” comment area?)….
Anway, I could really use some help/tips with printing from coupons.com and other sites that say to install the coupon printer. I mean it has worked in the past, so I know it’s possible on this (stupid) computer (I’m certainly not the stupid one lol)!! I have disabled my firewall as someone suggested and I’ve double-clicked on the icon on my desktop as well. I’ve also clicked on the “stand-alone” suggestion on the site. This is sooooo annoyingggggg!!!! Grrrrr!!!! I am missing out on soooooo many good coupons! Please help! Thanks! And also, can someone tell me a couple sites I can go to that I can purchase coupons? That may be my only other option. Sorry this is sooooo long.

I find my computer only prints from internet explorer–not Mozilla. Christine

I had to completely uninstall the coupon printer program before I could reinstall it successfully. Apparently it had a corrupted file. Now it works with internet explorer. I save ink by “paying someone on ebay for their time to clip and send me coupons”..lol since coupons cannot be sold. (look for big numbers of 100% feedback for good sellers) also the clipping services recommended here are good, but a bit more costly. HTH

I LOVE to see pictures of what everybody got- it is SOOOO inspiring!!!

    • This came at a bad time for me. We just started a new nutritional program this week that caused me to have to buy a bunch of things that were not on sale as we were stocked up on all the wrong things for this program.

I'm with you, Damien… I just started couponing and LOVE it, but I also need to eat healthy which means more produce and protein and less processed food – which is where the majority of the coupons are! What to do….? Anyone have any tips???

Only buy what you will use. Stick to essential pantry items: spaghetti sauce, pasta, peanut butter, rice (brown rice included), and buy frozen veggies when they are on sale with a coupon you can get them for free most of the time. You don’t have to buy junk…a friend did a guest post on my blog about it (http://familystampingfood.blogspot.com/2010/04/confessions-of-former-coupon-snob-guest.html) Hope that helps. Buy seasonal produce, it’s always cheaper and tastes better. And shop for produce at local farmers’ markets.

I've had that problem as well because I don't like to eat a bunch of processed snack foods. I eat healthfully. I always stock up on oatmeal (my breakfast staple!), low fat yogurt, low fat popcorn, and 2% cheese when on sale. I can always find coupons for these. As for produce, I try to get what's on sale and I never let anything go bad without finding a way to use it first. I stock up on chicken, shrimp, etc when it's on sale then separate and freeze it.

It does seem like a lot of coupons are for “junk food”, but we save a ton on healthy cereal, granola bars, crackers. And coupons for organic items are getting more popular- check out Publix's Earth Day booklet ;)

Use ALL your catalina $ deals (money back on your next purchase) for produce and protein! I want to eat healthy, also!

        • Buy frozen vegetables; they are just as healthy and a whole lot cheaper, plus you don't have to worry about them going bad so you can stock up when they are on sale.

Avoid Organic fruits and veggies because really they are not all that healthier than regular food and they cost double the price (and that is assuming you can find them on sale).

Buy your proteins when they go B1G1 at Winn-Dixie (or if you don't have a WD just when they go cheapest) and buy more than you need for that week and freeze what you don't use in ziplock bags (press out any excess air).

There are plenty of cereals that are healthy that go on sale. Pasta is always good and cheap (just be sure to pair it with some good proteins and veggies).

My biggest problem is that my new diet requires a 40% Carb, 40% Protein 20% Fat ratio for meals and to eat smaller meals with 40-40-20 balanced snacks. Thus I needed to buy cottage cheese and string cheese as high protein snacks to pair with my yogurts, fruit, and other high carb snacks. I also had to buy some protein powder to help make up my protein difficiencies (particularly with breakfast which is usually cereal or bagels and snacks which are often things like yogurt, pringles, and other high carb snacks). Also had to buy egg substitute because regular eggs are too high in fat unless you take the time to separate them. I also purchased a lot of bread, cheese, and lunch-meats because sandwiches are easily balanced.
