frugal date friday $5 spending challengeThis Frugal Date Friday we are heading to the mall, flea market, or any other store. Both of you get $5 to spend and the challenge is to get the best deal with your money.

The catch: you cannot go to a grocery store. That’s just not as much fun! You can use a coupon though if you have one.

If you don’t want to actually spend $5, you can take a picture of the item and price tag. Feel free to make up whatever rules you want to suit your location.

Have a dispute on what’s the best deal? Post it to Facebook. Your Facebook fans will no doubt love to chime in their opinions.

What is the best deal you ever got for $5?

Well last Friday I already made this happen! With family visiting in town, we went to the nice Tanger Outlet Mall area called Centre Point in North Charleston. We were headed to the brand new Field and Stream store, but mom needed to run in the Dollar Tree real quick to grab a couple of cards. I dropped off the guys at Field and Stream, then went inside the Dollar Tree with mom. I discovered that this particular Dollar Tree is much nicer than the ones in Summerville that I shop at. I wasn’t really intending on looking or needing anything myself, but I found adorable Disney stocking and matching Santa hats, and cute small pet pull over shirts with cute saying on them. So I got the two sets of stockings/hats for my niece and nephew, and the pullover shirt for my grandmother’s mini schnauzer to stick in their Christmas package! That was my happy $5 story!!
