frugal date friday amateur play or concertFor Frugal Date Friday this week, we are going to dress up and go to a not-so-fancy play or performance! Many schools have plays, concerts, and more this time of year for around $5.

You can also check for community centers that are offering plays. Many colleges also have things like Off-Off Broadway and tickets are normally around $8.

Be sure to check for discounts if you buy tickets in advance. Some are even free, so look around to see whats showing!

That’s a wonderful suggestion. As the mother of 2 young musicians, I highly recommend it :) If you’re in the Orlando area, check out the UCF Music Department’s calendar of performances. Most of them are free. The quality of their musicians is INCREDIBLE. I’m very partial to the jazz ensembles. If you can catch the Flying Horse Big Band (which will be recording an album in a couple of days), GO. It’s the premiere UCFJazz band. Their performances aren’t usually free because they’re raising money for the department, but you will not regret it. The Jazz combos will be playing this upcoming Tuesday night and those performances are free.
