Lanterns are a great way to add interest to the inside or outside of your home. You can put some candles in it, plants, pine cones – pretty much whatever you want. This Pottery Barn lantern (and the Pier 1 look alike) comes in different sizes at varying sizes. This comparison is of the large size.

This lantern is steel with a bronze or silver finish. Nope, the added cost doesn’t come from the candles pictured. When you buy the lantern, you’re only buying the lantern and nothing else is included.

Frugal: 24″ Black Metal Lantern $30 ($7.95 Shipping)

It’s almost exactly like the Malta lantern except it’s 4 inches shorter and black instead of bronze. The Pier 1 lantern can still be set out or you can hang it. I’m with the frugal option on this one. If you want to save even more, just grab this in your local store and save the shipping.
