Around Easter one of our favorite activities is going through our Resurrection eggs.My girls will ask to do them numerous times a day!Well at a regular price of $15-$20 for a set it can be an expensive purchase.

I recently spoke at a Mom’s group (SPOTS) in Columbia and going with the theme of saving money that day they had a great make your Resurrection eggs activity. I quickly asked if I could share it!!

What you will need:

  • 5 plastic eggs of various colors
  • Picture of a donkey (print one from your computer)
  • Goldfish cracker, or other cracker your child likes to eat
  • 2 small nails
  • Small rock (grab one from the yard)

Hopefully you should have most of the items already so if you have to buy the eggs the whole activity should cost around $1.

Now, download the scripture and story about each egg and have fun. If your family is like ours you might want to make a set for each kid. They love to open the eggs themselves and eventually will love tell you the story.

Thanks to Mimi at Shandon Baptist for letting me share her guide!

How Awesome! Thank you for sharing! I’ve been wondering what to do with our plastic eggs since I don’t want my daughter eating too much candy.

    • Tabetha

that is fantastic! I can’t wait to share that with my mops group! I have been looking for a way to explain Easter to my 3 year old and this is it!

I am new here and excited about starting. I have a large family and am so excited about this chance to save money. I am all set except for one thing. i cannot get the coupons to print. I have tried and tried and it won’t work. i tried your tip about right clicking in the tab and that option isn’t there. This is really bugging me and I am not very good with technology so can anyone helpme??? I would so appreciate it!

      • Jenny

        Jennifer,
Is it just the smartsource coupons or the coupons.com coupons too? Try turning your firewall off for the few minutes that you are printing and then turn it back on when you are done. You can also try changing internet browsers, maybe try Firefox, or Safari or Internet Explorer if you are already trying one of the others. If it still doesn’t work email me (click the black box on the left hand side and it will open up your email).

“Jesus was punished for our sins so that someday we would get to go to heaven to be with Jesus”
I would add this to the last part of the instructions…
But the best part about Jesus’s death/resurrection is that we can have a relationship with God not just in heaven but right now! The kingdom of heaven is here! God is with us!

We teach the children at church and will be using your Easter activity. Great post! Thanks!

Thank you so much – may I pass this on to our Women’s group for them to use with their own children? As a former preschool teacher, I love opportunities to share meaningful ways to pass on our faith to our youngest ones. God bless

      • Jenny

You are welcome to share this with anyone!

    • Jennifer

Thanks Jenny! That did it! I did not know I could do that but I turned off the Firefox and TADA they printed! I found out about your site from a woman I work with. I have tried to coupon before and found it difficult. You make this so much easier, thanks so much for all the time you take to do this. I am fixing to head to CVS now that hubby is home to start! Thanks again!
