While I’m a mama of all girls, I will always believe that boys are easier to shop for! Here’s my list of top gifts for boys ages 4 to 6. These are important years in a boy’s life where the interests he picks up can stay with him through his entire life. My list is a mix of super-fun toys and other gifts that challenge him to grow.
If you’re still stumped after looking through the list, try thinking of gifts your husband would love and scale it down to size. That was my inspiration for most of these ideas!

You may regret this one! If the VTech KidiBeast Drum Set sparks a life-long percussion obsession in your son’s heart, your life just got a lot louder. But the smile on his face as he first explores the snares, toms and cymbals in this drum kit should make up for it!
Pillow Pets, starting at $13.99

One day at a park, I saw a little boy sprint out into the open, leap in the air, pull back one of these bows and fire his arrow straight into the air. I was impressed how high the arrow flew and even more with how much joy it brought to the owner. This gift or any like it will give your son something to remember this Christmas!
*Note – this is a Nerf toy, so the arrows won’t be doing much damage. But to be safe, no bows in the house!
Spider-Man is awesome! If your son is a fan, he’s mimicked Spidey’s web shooting abilities hundreds of times. Bring that fantasy into reality with these web shooting gloves. Don’t be embarrassed if you order yourself a pair; I must say I’m more than a little tempted!
This gift could pair well with some new shoes…or a jersey from the local pro team? Either way, this is the first step of your son’s life as a hoop star! Get him started early with hand-eye coordination skills, regular exercise and (of course) hours of fun!
Time for a classic! The Lite Brite Magic Screen has received an upgrade from the older, bulkier editions. Now it can fit on any shelf or travel with you in the car. Give this as a gift for hours of creative fun!
