Wednesday’s are so busy with grocery lists that I quietly let Southern Savers birthday come and go.  A year ago I started this site from a few words that my husband said.  I don’t think he thought I would do it and he was pretty surprised to come home and find it up and running.  I had no idea of what this site would become then and have no doubt that it will continue to amaze me.

When I started I planned to cover Publix, Bi-lo and CVS – we now cover 9 stores!  There are plans in the works to add a few more stores soon…

For us over the last year we have saved over $6400 on groceries.  If it were possible I would love to know what the total saved from all Southern Savers readers is.  I can only imagine.

In honor of the day lets do another Free Grocery giveaway!!

I will give (4) readers $50 to the Southern Savers grocery store of their choice.  The only requirement is that you report back to us and share how much you were able to purchase and save with that $50.  This was a lot of fun the last time we did it, I love seeing how far you are able to stretch those dollars. (You don’t have to take pictures but we would all love to see your trips.)

To enter:

1.  Leave a comment below with what store you would want $50 too and how much you think you could get for that $50.  (It does not have to be purchased in the same trip).

2.  For another entry, blog or twitter about this giveaway.

I will pick the winners Saturday morning!!  Good Luck.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! What a blessing you are!! I would love 50 dollars to Publix as this is the store where shopping really is a pleasure and has enabled me along with your site to save thousands of dollars and feed my growing family abundantly. When I spend 50 dollars at Publix I usually get 120-150 dollars worth of food and supplies.

    • Delta

      Hi Jenny,

Please count me in! I love your site, it’s definately helped cut my time down. I average 60-70% savings every week, and some weeks don’t have to shop. My Favorite Souther Savers store is Publix.

      Delta

    • Amy

I LOVE your site!! I always look at your match-ups before heading to the store! Thanks to all your hard work I have been able to get some amazing deals!! I would love to win the $50 GC. I love seeing how much I can save and spend!! Thanks for all you do!! Have a most blessed day and Happy First Birthday to Southern Savers!!

    • Beth

I would love to do publix. Before Southern savers I was a religious Kroger person even though the one in our city closed we still drove 45min. one way to go there. But since your site I now mostly shop at Publix and we now have a new one in the city… I can’t thank you enough for all that you do… I think I could get quite a bit for $50.00 I would say at least $150.00 worth or possibly more. I even got for Mother’s Day a brand new coupon organizer ( one of the nice fancy one’s with baseball card slots) I can’t live without it. I have even turned my mother onto couponing. I love it… Thanks Jenny

      Beth

    • Beth

My store would have to be Bi-lo! With $50 I KNOW I could get at least $250 worth of great stuff. Of course I have not had to spend $50 OOP at Bi-Lo in so long I may could even sretch it further! I think I will go today and just do a test run!! I will report back later! Thanks for all you do Jenny and a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Southern Savers! May it be another blessed and inexpensive year for all of us!

    • Amy

Oh and I would love to use the GC at Publix!! By far my fave store to shop at!!

    • Amy Edwards

Jenny, I would love a $50 cert. to Publix =) The other week I spent $21.67 but saved over $90 . . . so with $50, I’m sure I could save around $150 or more. Thanks for all your work to keep the site going – My husband and I (and our tight grocery budget) definitely appreciate it!!

    • Beth

Beth 4 is a different Beth than Beth 3 lol

    • Jerri

      Jenny,

I would use my $50 at Publix. I have just recently started about 4 weeks ago and I am loving it, actually addicted. Please keep up the great/hard work you do everyday. We love you and I am so blessed to have gotten to meet you here in charleston sc. Thanks again for all you do.

      Jerri

    • Teresa

Jenny please throw my name in the hat. I just checked over my receipts since the beginning of February and I have saved over $1200. Thank you! I REALLY appreciate what you do! The store I can usually get the best deals and the most savings with is Publix. Thank you for your hard work and how awesome of a site this is! I’ve made up little slips of paper with your website on them and give them out at the store regularly. It is so awesome to see people to get so excited over saving money. Have a great day!

      Teresa from Alabama

    • Beth C

Publix of course. With the help of Southern Savers, $50 really means over $100 in groceries. I have quite a stockpile and plan to help out local food banks, I think I have more cereal that we can eat and lots of other great pantry items to share. Happy B’day Southern Savers! You’ve saved me alot! Just last night I purchased almost $70 and paid OOP $30-ish. The $70 total was after Publix took off the B1G1’s so I figure I save at least 70% or more per week, which would amount to approx $3,500 – $4,000 per year. I plan to start keeping a log so I can report back to you the actual annual savings!

    • Sandra

My favorite store would be Bi-Lo! With the great BOGO deals, I know I could save 60-70%!

      Happy birthday Southern Savers!

    • Janelle

      Happy birthday!
Thanks for the chance! I love Publix!

    • Adele

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers. You are truly a gift to all of us. The store I would pick is Publix, and I estimate that I could turn the $50 card into a grocery value of $150 or more. Have a blessed day!

    • Jennifer G

Publix, for sure. I’ve been loving the information from this site and how much there is to pay attention to while I shop. I can try new recipes and still stay in budget and let my stockpile grow; it’s great! With $50 in a gift card I know I can get $100 of groceries, not problem, but if I just use the gift card for the best deals, I could to $200. Thanks so much for all of your work!

    • Tara

I have just recently started couponing and I enjoy your site. I am alway amazed at how much you can save by just taking a few hours out of a week to get things in order. Your site really helps me alot. I enjoy reading and using the updates that you provide for us all. Happy Birthday to southern savers and I hope many more birthdays to come. I cant wait to see how I can save with the $50.00.

      Thank YOu

    • Kathy Lepow

Please add my name to the list. Since finding your site in December, my grocery bill has dropped from $150 a week to an average of $50. The ladies in the office now compete for the best receipt. We love to shop at Publix.

    • Jenna

Happy Birthday Jenny! Yesterday I spent $55 at Publix and got almost $140 worth of groceries. I think I could do even better than that this week with $50!

    • Kandi

I would love to participate, but we do not have any of these grocery stores in my area…only CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid. If one of those counts, count me in! Thanks for your great website, by the way!

    • Amber

      Publix, definitely! I think I can save 60-70%. :)

    • Stacy

My favorite store is Publix! We just started a few months ago, built our stockpile and are now seeing the HUGE drop in our grocery bill! $50 will go a long way at Publix- I’ve been getting 60% on average for the last few months, and I’m working towards even higher percentages!! THANKS for all you do!

    • Amanda S

I never shopped at Publix before your site. Now, it’s my favorite store! I’d love a GC there. I usually get about $150 for $50. We’ve saved a TON of money using your tips and we have things in our house that we thought we couldn’t afford before. Thanks for all you do!

    • Deana

Happy Birthday! I am a newer reader to your blog, just within the past two months, but your site and advice has already helped our family save a lot of money! I refer to your site before I make any shopping trip. My favorite store is Publix. We save on average 70 – 80% every trip now. And this week we didn’t have to do any shopping at all! That has been a nice break! Thank you for the giveaway and continued blessings for another great year!

    • Jennifer

I would love to have $50 to Publix. I save an average of 70% every time I go. 2 weeks of groceries for 2 adults, 1 6year old, 1 infant, 2 dogs, and a cat normally cost me $80! Fifty extra dollars would make that go even further!

    • Sharlene

I would definitely choose Publix!! I think I could get at least $100 or $125 worth of groceries!!! Thanks so much. I just started this in March and continually save at least 60% or more. 2 weeks ago I got $250 worth of groceries for $30 at Publix.

    • Christina Albea

Publix without a doubt. I’m so very certain that with $50 I could get at least $120 worth of groceries!

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!!

    • April

Happy Birthday! I think I could get $125.00 worth of groceries for $50.00 at Publix. Last night I spent $3.77 and saved $35.00. Rock on girl!

    • Kara

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! We consider you ministry at our home. I love to save money and your lists have really helped me with my new budget. My husband was unemployed for 6 months and a friend gave me a link to your site. The money I have saved our family is amazing. I now consider couponing part of my daily activities. I sing your praises each chance I get and I now have a group of fellow couponers as friends. How sad, we grocery shop when we get a baby sitter. I would love to win a publix card and I think I could purchase around $125-150 in merchandise. Thanks for your hard work!
You are GREAT!!!!:) P.S. I think that we should all be posting these messages regardless of a give away.. Sorry I have taken so long.

    • Sherry

Happy, Happy One Year Web-Birthday!! Jenny, since attending one of your fabulous coupon classes, I have been able to save large amounts of money this year. I would love the opportunity to show you how I could spend $50. The only store I have in my area worthy of the $50 is BI-LO. I know I can go into BI-LO and buy $155.00 for $50.

Thanks for such a wonderful site!

    • Amy in TN

I would try Publix. I’m new at this, so I don’t know how much I would save, but I’ll try my best.

    • Jamie

Happy Birthday! I was turned on to Southern Savers in early April and have been hooked ever since! I have told everyone I know to get on the site and start saving money! I had been clipping coupons for a few months, but I had no idea how much I was missing until I started following your site. Now, I’m addicted! I check it before I even check my email! I LOVE the Publix deals and have gotten really into the CVS ECB’s lately, too! I would love the challenge of turning $50 into a fridge and cabinet full of groceries!

    • Krystal

My favorite grocery store where I live is definitely Publix. If I had $50 to spend there, I would probably get around $150-200 worth of items for that amount.

    • Jennifer

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! Thank you for all you do Jenny. I truly appreciate it.

I can’t even imagine how much I have saved on groceries. I really need to start keeping track.

I think with a $50.00 gift card I could get at least $125.00 worth of groceries. I love a challenge though and would try to stretch every last thing I could out of it!

    • Becky

      Jenny,
I would love a $50 gift card to Foodlion, I think I could get a full weeks worth of groceries for a family of 4 with it! I have been at $65 a week but I am down from about $120-$140 per week!! Thanks So much you are a great help to me and so many others every week!! Happy 1st BDAY!! And keep up the great work! I am gonna twitter about it and post it on my blog http://savingthecents.blogspot.com/ !! It is posted and I am getting on twitter NOW!

    • Erin

I’d love to put my name in the hat. I would chose Bi-Lo because lately, I’ve been getting more for my money there. I can get at least $120 worth of groceries for $50. Thanks to you, I’m saving about $250 per month on groceries. You are the best!

    • Anne

Publix, by far is the best for saving money. I love using competitors coupons, especially ones for $5 off $25 that we see every so often. I still consider myself fairly new to couponing as I have never been able to get 100% free groceries as others have but to date my best is 82% savings at Publix! I usually spend no more than $50 compared to $200 I used to spend before I started couponing.

    • Kelly

Happy Birthday! I’m shopping only at publix these days because of where I live, but I think I could get around $150 with a $50 gift card! Thanks for the giveaway!

    • Amy

I would chose Harris Teeter (no Publix in my area). During triples I think I could get maybe $150 or more with a $50 gift card. Happy Birthday and thanks for your hard work.

    • Stephanie

Happy Birthday to you! I would absolutely love a chance at one of the gift cards to Kroger. While I wish we had Publix here, I’ve found ways to save big at Kroger. Since I started visiting Southern Savers my grocery savings average at Kroger has been more than 78%. With a $50 gift card I believe I could get at least $200+ worth of items- including diapers! With a baby due any day I know that I could really use this and have fun saving!

    • Tami

I love your site! Thanks for doing all you do! I love Kroger! That is my store of choice!!! I could probably get $100 plus for $50 gift card.

    • Publix is my favorite. I love them for their natural and organic products. I always save 60%+ and am sure I could get at least $100 of groceries for $50. Thanks for your awesome site. You are an inspiration and a big help to our budget!

      Happy Birthday!

    • Jackie

I can’t believe you’ve only been doing this a year!! You do a great job so happy birthday!! I’d be shopping at Publix and would expect to be able to get $150 worth of groceries for $50!

    • Happy Birthday to Southern Savers- my favorite blog!!

I would most definitely use the giftcard at my favorite store- Publix! After using your website, I’ve gotten pretty good at this couponing thing, so I bet I could get at least $150 worth of groceries with it. :)

    • Deanna

Publix has become my favorite store since discovering your website. I always thought Kroger had the better deals…man I was wrong. I save an average of 60-70% at Publix though last week was “only” 50%… :O)

    • I also twittered about the contest- http://twitter.com/CouponCallie

    • Jen

We don’t have a Publix so I pick Bi-Lo. I think I could get $150 worth of groceries with a $50 gift card. Love your site!

    • I am new at this, but I would try to get at least $100 of stuff with the $50, and my goal would be $150! Publix would be my store of choice!

      Amanda

    • Kathryn

Publix!!! I love Publix! I could easly get $150 for $50 but I’m sure I could do better than that.

    • Karen

Happy Birthday! I found your site just a few months ago. As a single mom of 2 girls your site has helped my family save a lot of money so we can use the savings to do fun things as a family that we could not fit in the budget before! Thank you! I love to stock up on BOGOF at Bilo. I save 60-70% every week. I would say at Bilo I could turn that $50 into at least $150 in groceries. Thanks Jenny!

    • Jessica

With $50 at Publix, I could easily get $150 worth of groceries, if not more! I can’t wait to get up on Wednesdays and check your Publix matchups! Thanks for helping me save money.

    • Geri

I LOVE PLAYING GAMES!!!! And that is exactly what coupon shopping is to me, a big, giant game…. and I am winning! I would pick Kroger for my $50 and I am sure I could get at least $200 in groceries. This would be so much fun, please pick me! Thanks Jenny

    • shae

I would love a $50 gc to publix. I am sure I could get at least $175 worth of stuff and with the extra incentive I could probably do better!!
      Happy Birthday!

    • Donella

Happy Birthday, Southern Savers! My husband and I have really enjoyed seeing my Bi-Lo shopping receipts after I took your workshop in February. I think I would be able to stretch that $50 to about $150 in a few shopping trips! Thank you for all the hard work you do and!

    • Cristina

I just started a few months ago, but we have enough toiletries stockpiled I told my husband I’m going to open a store! I love shopping at Publix. I’d be able to get $150 with a $50 gift card. THanks!

    • Mrs. Morgan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! And thank you so much! PUBLIX can stretch $50, my favorite shopping place!

    • Heather

Happy Birthday! I would use the 50 dollars at Publix to get about 150 dollars worth of groceries. i love this site and check it a couple of times a day. You help keep our family well within our budget for groceries. That you!

    • Lori

I love your website!!!! I save lots of money with your help and I really appreciate all you do to keep this site running. I love Publix but don’t have one in my town (45 min away) but my mother lives by one so when I visit her we always make a trip. In my town I use Kroger (best deals we have here). I am not picky….Publix or Kroger. Last time I visited Publix total was $187.21 but spent out of pocket $64.37. Last time at Kroger, total $135.79 but spent out of pocket $53.61. I got awesome savings at both stores all because of your site. So I think I could get about $150-120 worth of stuff with the $50. Thanks for showing me how to save money!!!!!

    • I would love to have a gift certificate to Publix I could stretch it to at least $150 if not more.

    • Sara Ellen

Southern Savers ROCKS! ‘Been couponing since January and I must say that your site is my very favorite! “Jenny” is this famous person (in my mind) whom I would love to meet and go shopping with! I think I could use the $50 for about $160 in groceries at Publix! What a blessing southernsavers.com is for me! I am a bit addicted! Thanks, thanks!

    • Robyn Whipp

Happy Birthday Southern Savers. I would like to enter for a chance to win the $50. I have only been using coupons for about 3 1/2 months and have saved so much already. I appreciate all your store match-ups…especially the drug stores.
I would use the gift card at Publix. Not only is it a clean store with good deals, but the employees are very friendly and helpful. That means a lot when you go in with lots of coupons and three kids!!

    • Tracy C

Happy Birthday! I absolutely am so very glad that you took what your husband said a ran with it. There need to be more people like you out there. I have saved so much money since using this site. Just yesterday I purchased $135 worth of groceries from Bi-Lo for $45. And that was picking up a few things I needed but had no coupon for. I think that I could use the $50 at Harris Teeter and get over $300 worth of groceries. They are the best to shop at when they have triple coupons. Thanks again for all your hard work. I would love to see Piggly Wiggly & IGA added to your list. Let me know if I can be of assistance.
      Tracy

    • Julie

Count me in too! I would use my $50 at Kroger (although if we still HAD Bi-Lo it would be there) and even though I’m still new I bet I could stretch it to $125 or so, possibly over multiple trips.

    • LoriAnn

Definitely Publix! I love using competitor coupons there. Our local Piggly Wiggly puts a $5 off $30 coupon every Sunday in our Church Bulletin. I think I could get at least $200 worth of groceries for $50 there. The best I have done is $49 for $3.32. But I could not do it without SouthernSavers. I have even started CVS’ing after last week’s post about it. My husband loves all the free stuff we’re getting. Thanks so much for all your hard work!!

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    • terri

I am only 2 weeks into this coupon madness and would love to try to get for the first time 100.00 of groceries for 50.00. I’ll do my best!
      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

    • Lisa

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would use my grocery card at Publix for a picnic with friends and would expect tp save at least 70%.

    • Bethany

An awesome lady introduced me to your site when i inquired about her interesting notebook filled with baseball card pages & coupons! Intrigued, I visited Southern Savers, and sat at my computer with my mouth wide open. I couldn’t believe when my first trip with coupons actually worked! “Oh my goodness! This really works!” I’m pretty sure my husband is proud and shocked at the money we save with a little preparation and help from YOU & Gloria at FunandFrugal.com!!!
      With $50, I think I could buy $100-$115 worth at Bi-Lo!!!

    • Geri

I LOVE GAMES!!!! Couponing is the funnest game I have ever played and I get to win everytime! I would ask for $50 at Kroger and I am sure I could WIN at least $200 in groceries. Please pick me, it would be so fun! Thanks Jenny.

    • Happy Birthday and thank you for what you do. You have been a blessing to my family. We were struggling to get bare necessities for quite some time and now my pantry is stocked and I’ve cut our grocery bill in half (if not more).

I would use the $50 at Publix. We don’t have a Food Lion here (yet-I see there is one getting ready to opn eup in a few months in my area) or a Bi-Lo. I think I could easily get at $100-125 worth of food with the $50 at Publix.

    • Mindy

Happy Birthday! I have recently started using your site and can not believe how much I am saving! I would like the gift card to be to Kroger! I shop both Publix and Kroger, but Kroger is a little closer. I think I could get $150 for $50 there!

    • Count me in as well! I love this site, and I check it out weekly to make sure I’m getting the best deals. I have told all my friends about it as well.

I love shopping at our local Publix (Alabaster, AL has the BEST Publix ever)! After only 3 months of couponing, I’m saving at least 50% but generally 60+%.

      Thanks!

    • Nicole

I would love a gift card to Publix! It’s my favorite store! I could probably get $130-$150 from $50. Thanks!

    • Rebecca

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your website! It helps me to save well of 60% weekly and get lots of freebies! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I would love to have a $50.00 to spent at Bi-lo! Thank you in advance!!!

    • Thanks for the great promo and Happy Birthday !!!
I would love a Publix GC. I think I could manage to get around $200-$250 worth of stuff at least with the GC and Q’s. Have a great day !!

    • lynn

i would choose cvs i spend pennies onthe the dollar their i could easly turn that 50.00 in to more money(ecb and get over 200 dollars worth of stuff and be using the ecb for several months to continue shopping on i am sure i could do alot more at cvs with that money than any where eles with all the cvs money maker deals this would be exciting to see if how much i could turn the 50.00 into..

    • Rebecca

I love LOVE love your website. It helps me weekly to save over 60% and wind up with lots of freebies. I would love to have $50 to spend at
      Bi-Lo. Thanks in advance!

    • Steve Estes

I have found that publix would be my best bet since they take competitor coupons. This site has been very helpful. I just started couponing and love it. My first major shopping trip netted me $87.00 of groceries for only $34.00!!! And that was because of some rookie mistakes. I believe I could do $140-150.00 worth for that 50.00.

    • Happy Birthday! I have just recently found your site and it has been a tremendous help to me the last few weeks. I have been averaging 75% savings per month but I think with my new found tool in your site I could really stretch my $50 to at least $200 if not more at Publix. I would love the challenge to see how far I could stretch it!

    • Samantha

I live in Florida so of course I would be shopping in Publix. Before I found your site, I NEVER went into publix or looked at a sale ad. I thought they were too expensive. But now I go weekly armed with my coupons, and I have a stock pile that my family loves.

    • Adrienne

      Happy Birthday!

I would LOVE a gift card to Harris Teeter. We have three within driving distance, and I shop there religiosly on triples week.

I usually only shop HT for the specials, and I think if my good streak there continues, I would venture to save 75%, so my total before savings would be $200. *fingers crossed*

Man, I wish I had a Publix. I’ve started to ignore the Publix posts so that I don’t see all the good deals that I’m missing.

    • Happy Birthday! I could easily use the $50 over a couple of weeks. We try to spend less than $50/week. My Store of choice would definitely be Publix! I love the deals!! Thanks for the giveaway! :)

    • Mindy

I just started couponing a couple weeks ago and now I’m hooked. This website saves me so much time from trying to match up all the sales with the coupons. Each week I’m learning how to save even more! I love to come home and show my husband all that I got and then show him my receipt!! I think I’ve been saving the most at Publix. That is where I would want to spend the $50. I think I can save 70%. Thanks for this website!!!

    • meghan

I love your site! It has helped me to bring my Publix bill under control! $50 would get us groceries for a at least a week or two. I save aroud 60% each trip. Thanks for all you do!

    • Tuni Acosta

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! Publix is the store for me. With $50 I could probably get at least $150 worth of groceries with lots of planning.

    • Chandalee

Publix would be my choice of stores! I love your site — helps so much in planning my grocery runs! I would be able to get between $175 and $200 worth of groceries for that $50 card! Thanks for all your work to keep us saving money!!

    • vana

Happy Birthday and Thank you so much for the hard work and great info!!! Last night after returning with my grocery bill cut over 60%, my husband accused me of being on a “coupon high”! I’d love to win the $50 card to Publix. And, I have been posting info about your site even today on Facebook, does that count?? I’ve sent A LOT of friends over here!

    • Kimberly

Please count me in!! I only discovered Southersavers.com and coupon shopping a few weeks ago. I began using your service mostly out of a necessity to save money. I am recently divorced and trying to feed 2 quickly growing boys! I cannot believe how much I have saved in the few short weeks….just yesterday I bought $120 worth of groceries for only $23.88!!! If I won the $50 I imagine I could purchase at $150 worth of groceries for that amount!! Thanks for all you do, I wouldn’t be able to save so much money without you!!!!!!! THANKS!!

    • lynn

oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS

    • Dianne

Jenny, First of all, Happy “Birthday” to Southern Savers. I agree with everyone that you are a great asset. I really do appreciate your hard work. It really does help cut down on time spent preparing for a shopping trip. I love to shop at Publix. I have been shopping BOGO and sales for quite some time, but until a friend of mine turned me on to your site, I had not been saving quite as much. Now I know how to use the rainchecks to my advantage and I love it. I also have a Winn Dixie here in my neighborhood and they give out 10 off of 50 every so often! Publix takes those and it makes me so happy. =) Most of the Publix stores in my area (FL) don’t take Target coupons anymore. Such a bummer. So I don’t save quite as much as I used to be able to. So I would say that I should be able to get at least double my money if not more. Depends on the week. Again, thanks and Happy birthday!!!

    • Ronda

I would love the $50. I always shop at Kroger. I love everything there. I cold probably get $130 or more. Happy Birthday Southern Saver. WHOA WHOA!!!!!

    • Mrs Matson

I would love to have Publix and I think I would have $130 worth of groceries for the $50.

    • Priscilla

I first checked out your site about 3 months ago and even though I had done some couponing in the past, I have saved even more by following your guidelines and am saving about 70% – 80%. Before I was satisfied if I made it to 50% but not now. I usually shop at Kroger but sometimes I go to Wal-Mart so either GC would be great!! Happy Birthday Southern Savers :)

    • Lynn

Yea for free stuff! I would probably pick a Bilo card. I do well at Publix, but I tend to buy more non-sale items there. Bilo was great for me this week, and I only buy sale items there…plus they have the gas promotion going still.

    • Michaelene

I have only been couponing and using southernsavers since the end of March but it has become a new way of living for me. I think about things totally different now as far as frugal living. I averaged a savings of over 50% last month. This month my average is at 65% and I’m hoping to keep getting better. I would use the gift card at Publix without a doubt. Surely I could get $150 worth of groceries with it. My best trip there so far was getting $107 worth of groceries for $17!!! I could never have done it without your help!

    • Laava

I’d like a Bi-Lo card. This site is wonderful. Thanks and happy birthday!

    • Happy First Birthday to Southern Savers, and congratulations to you Jenny! I stumbled on your website last December and have since shared it with many, many people! I thank you for not only helping my family save money, but also for helping me to afford to give to our local food bank. I have been very blessed, and it makes me feel good to know that I can help others without “breaking the bank!” Thank you for your hard work and your dedication to helping others. I was never much of a Publix shopper before, but you have definitely changed my mind! We have a brand new one in our area. They are so nice and the store is beautiful! Thank you again for the money you save me and thousands of others!

    • Meg

A very Happy Birthday Southern Savers and wishing many MANy more! :)
Would really like to have one of those 50’s :) Publix will be my store and I could save 60-80%….

    • Alicia

I just had my best week at Publix ever, which is by far my SS favorite. If I could continue this kind of run, I could stretch that $50 into 2 weeks worth of groceries worth around $500! Thank you so much for all you’ve done to help!

    • Lynn M

Love your site! Yea free stuff! I would probably pick Bi-lo. I guess it depended on the sales that week :) I do really good there every few weeks or so, but again, it depends on the sales that week.

    • M Rose

WooooHoooo!! I will take that $50.00 to my FAVORITE store Bi-Lo and work some magic!!!! There is little doubt that there are ALWAYS a ton of FABULOUS deals to be discovered!!!!

    • OH! I almost forgot…I think I could stretch that $50 to $100 or more depending on the coupons that week! I love challenging myself to see what I can do and how much I can save. It’s worth the look on the cashiers face!!

    • Stephanie M

      Happy 1st Birthday!! how exciting!!!

I would love to have $50 gc to kroger. I think I could easily get $125 worth of grocerys for 50 bucks!! I am so up for the challenge!!

      yahoo!!

    • M Rose

ooops, to fast on the fingers….I estimate I can get $350.00 worth of groceries with that!!

    • Jaime Moore

I’m a Publix girl! On average I save about 70% per trip but i’m getting better every week :-)
      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

    • Blakely

      Happy Birthday!

I would love to try and save 50% or more at Publix with a gift card. I have only been couponing since around May 23 (went to your Lexington seminar!) and so far I am averaging about 35-40% with what we have been needing each week. I am stockpiling (as my husband lets me) so hopefully I will saving even more soon.

Thanks for all your hard work!

    • Jessica P

My favorite store to shop and save at is Publix. They always seem to have the best deals and are super nice. Eventhough the closest Publix is 20 minutes away, I will still make the drive to save as much as possible. I just began couponing a couple of months ago and now I am completely addicted! I love when my coupons come on Sunday and when the new grocery ads come out. I love to see how much I can get for as little as possible. Being a stay at mom it gives me something to look forward to! This is the best site I have come across and I check it daily! I am always spreading the word every where I go. I think that I could get around $150 worth of groceries for $50. I would love the opportunity to try and share with all of the Southern Savers. Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!

    • Clay

      Hey Jenny,
A co-worker and I stumbled across your website back in February. We were couponing amateurs at the time and were trying to find a website that listed the Publix penny item every week. Little did we know that we would find a site that would become a part of our daily routines, but we did. I don’t think there has been a week in the past four months that we haven’t saved more than we spent at Publix, our store of choice. We compare receipts every week to see who saved more. I do all of the shopping and cooking at my house mainly because my wife gets off work at 6:30 and I get off at 5:00. Also, I am cheap and she is not. I usually get some weird looks from the cashiers because they aren’t used to men handing them a stack of coupons… especially yesterday when I had a cart full of tampons. Tell your husband thanks for daring you to create this website, and thank you for being so diligent in keeping it up to date.

    • Hi, I am a newbie here! I just started couponing a few weeks ago and LOVE it! You are one of my favorite sites and have helped me save so much money already! Thank YOU! With 5 kids I really needed to start saving money , esp. with the economy the way it is and my husband’s work not going well! I would say my fav. store to shop now is Harris Teeter!I never really shopped there to much because I thought they were to high! But, now with my coupns I love it…. esp. when I get a whole order for .26 cents! I hope that if I win a $50 gift certificate that I will turn it into a $110. God knows we could use it! Keep doing what you are doing, Love your site! I also blogged about you too! Stop by and check us out. http://theshrumfamilyadventures.blogspot.com/

    • OOPS! I forgot to add to my e-mail that I think I could stretch the $50 to at least $100, and hopefully $150, depending on the coupons available at Publix that week. I love seeing the look on the cashiers face! Thank you again Jenny!

    • Cecile

I would love to use the gift card at Publix!! I know I could get at least $150 worth of groceries for $50. It would be fun to see exactly how much I could save!!! I started using your site about 6 months ago and I’m hooked!! I never knew I could save so much money and have so much fun!!! My husband even helps, he loves to brag about how much I save!!

    • Ashley

I love Publix! I just recently found out about Southern Savers and I am now hooked to getting deals! With $50, I think I could easily get over $100 worth of groceries. Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

    • Chantelle

Wow! I had no idea you were only 1 year old with this site! I’ve been using SouthernSavers since May and have saved so much. I’ve always used coupons from the papers and tried to match them with sales at Publix, but your sight has made me more efficient, helped me try new things( b/c I keep the coupons and can go back later to find ones for good deals) and helped me to use online coupons, which I’ve never done! Thank you, thank you! I would love to the GC to Publix to see just how much I could get with those dollars! Thank you for your hard work! I have also put a comment about your site on my blog. you can check it out at http://www.chantelleg.blogspot.com

    • Wow! Only a year ago you started this site!! The LORD surely blesses quickly and answers prayers quickly and we are often surprised by Him…although, we should always expect His blesings! Happy One Year! I would love the gift card to Publix! My mom, sister and I started “couponing” back in…I think it was late Feb. or March. We all share the deals we get and share coupons! We love it! And if we totaled up all we saved together, I am sure we’d be amazed! Our husbands think we’re all crazy BUT they always love it when we come home with huge bags of stuff and only spent under 10 dollars and sometimes only a dollar or two! Thank you for your hard work!!!

    • Larissa

I want it!! I’m always up for a challenge. I just started about 8 weeks ago, and I’m totally addicted. I was a fan of Equate brand at Wal Mart, thinking there was no other way!! I’m slowly using up all the Equate stuff and moving on to BRAND NAMES!!! And cheaper. I keep your site running all day and check it periodically throughout — even in the middle of the night when I have insomnia!!! Happy Birthday!

    • $50 in PUBLIX!!!! I am so exitied about the possibilities!!!!

    • Betsy

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! You’ve been so helpful to me and I’ve told so many people about the website! I am a Publix shopper and have even given the web address to several Publix employees!!! I will save $125 – 150 EASY with the gift card! I would challenge myself to save $200!

    • Michele

Girl! Southern Savers has been a Life Saver for this Southern Girl!! I love it! All the coupon match-ups are scenarios are the best!! I think I could take $50 to Bi-Lo and get at least $100 out of it possibly a little more. Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! I look forward to celebrating many more with you!!!

    • Jenny,

I would spend my $50 at Kroger! I would spend my $50 on snacks for vacation and staples before we leave, so that I don’t have to worry about no food when we come home. I get an extra added bonus at Kroger because I work there, so we get 10% off of Kroger products. I could definitely use $50!

    • Deana S

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY Southern Savers!!!
Jenny…you can’t begin to know what this site has done for people. My husband was laid off a little over 4 months ago and a friend told me about this site to help me learn to COUPON. I thought that I was a couponer before, but I just had no clue. I am constantly sharing the site with other people hoping that it will change their lives as it has mine. Just last night I was out with a friend and shared the site with a casier and my neighbor called me to ask me the name of the site because she was telling her hairdresser about the money I have saved and her hairdresser wanted to know. So THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of the lives you have changed and are still changing through this site.

I’m puttin my name in the pot for Publix. I love their store, but used to NEVER shop it unless I made the occasional stop in for a BOGO item or two. This site has taught me that Publix has so much more to offer than just bogo items. A couple of weeks ago I got just over $200 worth of groceries for about $45. My husband and the cashier both were simply amazed. THANKS!!!! A million times, THANKS!!!

    • Kristen

I’d love a gift card to Kroger … no Publix here. Love your site my mom and I check it every week for the CVS and Kroger deals. I think I could get between $100 and $120 for $50 at Kroger, depending on the sales that week. Thanks for all your work!

    • Just Moved to South Carolina

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

My little family has just moved to South Carolina from Utah and what a change it has been! The “deals” can be good in Utah, but WOW the “deals” can be great here! I’ve never been to a grocery store where it is normal to double and sometimes triple a coupon! I met a lady in the grocery store with a binder full of coupons and she gave me a coupon to triple. I asked her how she stays organized and she simply said “SoutherSavers.com”!

I am learning how to save and organize and each shopping outing is a true escapade for me. It is a thrill to see my receipt, and it gives me a true “shopping high”! It would be my quest to save 70% at a Publix, made possible through the SoutherSavers list! Thanks Jenny for making groceries an adventure!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! My choice of gift cards would be to Publix. I have learned so much from you and visit your website a few times every day. I am confident that I could save around $150.00 -thanks to you.

    • Ruth

      Dear Jenny:
Using your site has changed my relationship with grocery shopping completely! For years I hated this weekly chore and always went home depressed thinking that after spending $200+ I would be doing the same thing again the next week. Now I absolutely love the challenge of saving all that I can, love to try new items and recipes, and mostly love to share my savings tips and purchases with others. I have made friends with the cashiers, baggers and the store managers at our Publix, and have forged a partnership relationship with the store management and our City–Publix now donates to our City-funded projects and sponsors events for us. (How cool is that?) Best of all, I can share the goodies–I treat my sister’s family (four children 12-17) with special yummy snacks that my sister could not afford to give them. (And I pack up boxes of food to send home with them when they come to visit. They love to see what’s inside from their crazy aunt.) By couponing, I was able to donate the trail mix for our entire summer reading club program (300+) children at the library where I work just last week. Also, some of our library patrons have been having a very tough time in this economy. I am able to make up anonymous boxes of food (which I put next to their cars with an encouraging note.) From my office I can see their surprise and happiness. Totally fun!
What could I buy with $50 gift card to Publix? Can’t really say–it’s always an adventure but I’d try my best. You can be sure I’d be doing the happy dance in the Publix parking lot more than once! Thank you sincerely for helping me, my extended family, my friends, my co-workers and my Smyrna neighbors learn to live well and frugally.
      Ruth Hayden
      Smyrna, GA

    • Jessica C

I usually spend about $20 for $60 of groceries so with that $50 I could probably get between $120-150 at my favorite store, Harris Teeter. During triples even more!!!

    • So I was calling all my girlfriends everytime I saved $$ (all thanks to you Ms. Jenny!!!! – We LOVE YOU)..anywhooo…one of my girlfriends said i should start a blog…so about one month ago, that’s is what I did…

      http://www.couponsaremyhobby.blogspot.com

And I just happily blogged about your exciting and generous giveaway~

    • I would LOVE to win this! I’d use it at Bi-Lo, which is normally where I shop now. I used to never go to this store. After reading your blog (I check it religiously every day and sometimes up to 4 times a day LOL) I now feel really comfortable with shopping there. I love their BOGO deals and getting things so cheap after coupons! I can’t even remember the last time I’ve spent $50 at a grocery store, so I know that this would take me soooooo far :) Farther than I can imagine I bet. I do also love finding blinkie coupons at Bi-Lo too. I like to update my blog and/or Flickr with pictures of my great deals, so I’d definitely share what I found if I won this!

I’m actually going to Bi-Lo this afternoon after seeing all the great new deals posted in the new ad.. wooohoo, cheap laundry detergent, here I come!! :D

    • TANYA

Happy Birthday to SouthernSavers! Jenny you are an inspiration and blessing to us all! If I won the $50.00 worth of groceries, I would definitely shop at Publix. I would hope to get $120.00-$140.00 worth of groceries. I have saved SOOO MUCH money by using your website that I would give ALL of the groceries to a couple of families I know who are struggling right now. My cup (and pantry) overfloweth right now!

    • Kristen

Happy Birthday! I’d love a gift card to Kroger … no Publix here. I think I could get between $100 and $120 for $50. Your site is great – my mom and I check it every week for the CVS and Kroger deals. Thanks for all your work!

    • Amy

I would use the $50 gift card at Bloom during triple coupons. I could probably get at least $100 to $130 dollars free. Depending on what I can triple and what is on sale. This would also take more than one trip. Thanks so much. Maybe I will be lucky! Good luck to everyone!
      Amy

    • Jessica

I work at publix and would love to be able to get 50 dollars to spend there. So many customers have talked about Southern Savers and this weekend will be the first time I use it. I think, because I use coupons and see how people do who shop at publix and use southern savers, that I could get 175 dollars worth of groceries

    • Ingrid

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Thank you so much for all the work you do with this site! I can’t even begin to imagine the time it takes to post all the coupon matches! I had been shopping at Wal-Mart (uugghh!!) but since finding your site, go to clean, pleasant, friendly Publix. And I am saving so much money on our groceries! I would like to use the gc at Publix.
      Thank you again!

    • Lori

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would be so lost without you. I would use a $50 cert. at publix. I could at least get $150 worth of groceries. This would allow me to stockpile more for our food bank. Thank you again for helping me save so much money and allowing me to help others.

    • Amy

Happy Birthday!!!! I thank you so much for what you do on this website. I am a newbie to the coupon world and I have to say your site has helped me more than any. Bi-lo is my definite store to save at. Thank you!!!!

    • Lindsay

I would love $50 for publix. I never shopped at publix before I started couponing because I thought it was too expensive. Little did I know that it is the best. I love publix now and could save at least $200 with that $50.
      thanks! Happy Birthday!

    • jessica

I would really love a Publix gift card. I think I could probably get $90-$100 worth of groceries with Southern Savers help of course!

    • I forgot to tell you Happy Birthday! I also blogged about you at Malia-newbeginnings.blogspot.com and I twittered you, just in case.

    • Toni

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love birthdays especially when it comes to couponing!!! (I always use the funny papers to save money and go green when wrapping presents!)

If I won, I would love a gift certificate to Harris Teeter!!! I was doing some math in my head (and calculator)… My best trip during triples was $34.95 for $0.11..so…at 11 cents per trip that would give me around 454 trips out of $50. One 11 cent trip valued at $34.95 x 454 available trips in $50 would put me at $15, 886..wow!!!!

Okay, so I don’t always do that well!!! But during triples at HT, I bet I could bring in at least $300-$400 dollars worth of groceries!!

      Gimme a chance! I’d love to try..ahahaha!! :)

    • Laura

I too am surprised that this site has only been around for a year. When I found it a couple months ago I felt like I had hit the jackpot.

I’m sorta new to this, so I don’t know how much I could stretch the $50, but I do know that Publix is the place to be. I hope they never stop the BOGO sales!

    • cindy mccurry

I have only been on your website for a couple of months, thanks to my sister. I love it. Since my husband works at CVS, I would love to show him what I could do with $50. I could make it into $100 or more. Happy Birthday!

    • Kristi C

Happy Birthday! I hope you celebrate many more. My friend told me about your site several months ago and I now visit it daily. I have also told numerous other people about this great website. Thank you for all your hard work! You have saved me so much money. If I won the free groceries, I would love to have a card from Bi-Lo. I never shopped there before I found this site and I now shop there every week, sometimes more than once. Thank you so much.

    • Happy one year! I would use the $50 at CVS and get at least double that (if not more) worth of items.

    • Jill

Happy Birthday! I love this site. It has all the deals for all the grocery stores in my area. It’s my go to place for deals! I would love $50 to BiLo.

    • I would love to try and save a bundle at Publix with a $50 coupon! (I am still learning and juggling 3 kids and time to plan and shop!)

You are providing a wonderful and needed service to us all – with or without the coupon – you are much appreciated!!!! Thank you.

    • janet

My cousin, his wife & 4 boys recently visited for 3 days. We wanted to spoil them a little. In private, my husband commented that their visit probably cost us $500 (food, gas, entertainment). On the morning of their departure, I was looking thru the ads & commented that coffee was on sale & that I should stock up. My cousin’s wife responded, “I’ll get you a coupon.” She dashed off to my computer. In a few minutes, she returned with 2 $1.50 off coupons. She suggested I check out SouthernSavers.com. After they left, & feeling a little guilty about the cost to my family, I went to your site & started reading/studying. I was blown away at how much I could save…even in Texas (no Bi-Lo or Publix)! With coupons in hand, I went to CVS for the first time in my life. On my second visit, the cashier exclaimed, “You owe us…NOTHING!” She was shocked. The next time I went, I bought $36.00 worth of merchandise & the cashier said, “You owe $.99! OHMIGOSH! Soon, my “work” will pay back our family for hosting my cousin/family…thanks to you! I would choose CVS & hope that I could turn a $50 gift card into at least $200 worth of merchandise. Jenny, U ROCK!

    • Casie

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers! Your site is actually on my toolbar so I can easily click on it every day, SEVERAL times a day, to check for updates!
I have been able to pass the blessing along to many other friends, and EVEN the shoe salesman at Belk who went the extra mile to order a pair of “must have” shoes for me at a 25% discount and FREE shipping!
Since I have been following your program, FREE and discount items seem to “fall” into my lap! God is Good!! The most recent was Tuesday, when we went to Publix (my ABSOLUTE favorite store), to purchase a couple boxes of the BOGO fruit roll ups. What should we find in one box?? A $5.00 Discover cash card of course! (Odds of winning were 1:56!) My 5 yr old daughter was THRILLED!
As I stated previously, I have been a long time Publix shopper and firmly believe that, given the proper sales/coupons, I could purchase about $175 worth of groceries for $50. I had a great trip last month where I spent $90 and saved $157! It was AWESOME and thanks to you!!!!
      God Bless!

    • Rob Burstein

I would love to be able to shop at Kroger with the $50. I think I could stretch $50 into $150 without blinking an eye.

      Happy B-Day

    • Hi Jenny,
YOU SAY IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY…HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 U!!!! I average about $130 worth of groceries for $29 at PUBLIX. So, I’ll say about $275 for $50. How exciting…I pray I win! Thank you for all you do to help my family!
      Jill Simmons
      Montgomery, AL

    • Elaine

Hi Jenny. I always shop at Publix and usually save about 72-74%, so I’d say that I could get almost $200 in groceries for the $50.

      Happy Birthday SS!

    • Shawn

I WOULD GIVE TO MY FAVORITE CHARITY! If I won the $50, I would do my best to get the most groceries i could from Publix and then take all of it to a local charity where I live. They help families who are homeless or barely have a roof over their head….much less groceries. They are in touch with actual families in my community who need this sort of thing and would gladly accept the food and personally deliver it. I feel like I’ve benefited so much from this website and saved so much money, the least I could do is take the free money and shop smart for a family that is struggling in this hard economy.

    • Karen

I have saved over $400 at Publix alone since April and have “stocked up” my pantry to over-flowing! It’s now FUN to go grocery shopping… I actually don’t even call it that now… I say, “I’m going couponing!”

I’d love $50 to Publix to see what I could get with that.. I’m guessing around $100, depending on the week, but would challenge myself to do better than that!

God bless you for sharing this with others. You and your site are changing lives for the better. My family and friends are so thankful to have discovered Southern Savers!

    • Wendy

I would love to have a GC to Publix. I think I could stretch it to $120 worth of groceries or so?

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers! May you be richly blessed, Jenny, for being the blessing you are to so many of us! We appreciate you! My husband is so amazed at what we’ve been able to save (due mostly to you), that he has started telling all his customers about your website :)

      Wendy

    • Ashley in FL

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! I found this website about two months ago, and I LOVE it. My husband of 3 months thinks I’m crazy, but I tell him how much we’re saving, then he starts thinking about what electronic he can spend the savings on. I would use the GC at Publix. They don’t double coupons, so I don’t get as great of savings as everyone else, but I still save about 50-60%. This is such a blessing and I tell everyone about this site.

Jenny, thank you SO MUCH for not letting this idea sit on the back burner!

    • Teresa

I would love to spend that $50 at Publix. It is my favorite store. I am imaginging I could get about $200 worth for $50. Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

      Teresa

    • Kellie

I wish I had known about this site for the whole of the last year, but the past 6 months have been great! I’m improving at this adventure as I go and LOVE shopping at Publix now, not only for the good customer service and friendly atmosphere, but their great deals!

Thanks for helping us all on this journey!

    • Candice

I would LOVE a gift card to Kroger… I would wait until they have their buy ten items get five dollars off sale though. I can usually get a CRAZY amount of stuff from there for very few dollars! Love the site, thanks for the giveaway!

Wow, I had no idea this website was so young! I have been visiting for about 6 months and thought I was a johnny come lately to a great thing :) I shop at Publix and Bilo and $50 would be more than one week of groceries for our family.

    • Jenny, I would love to win a gift card to Publix but, since we’ve moved out of their area, I guess I would choose Kroger. It is my second favorite. I could save at least 50% by shopping there. Maybe get $75 worth.
      Thanks!

    • Definitely would love to spend that at Publix. That would help us out so much! I’m not sure how much I could get for that $50…but I would hope at least $100 worth.

    • Robin from Roswell

Publix all the way! A few weeks ago I saved $121 and only paid $49. I don’t know if I can do that well again but I would surely like to try! I love Southern Savers and all that you do. It is greatly appreciated.
      Happy 1st Birthday!

    • Kelly

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I’ve recommended your site to all my friends and family and now we’re all saving a ton of $$! I would definitely want to spend my $50 at Publix and would hope to get between $150 and $200 worth of groceries with it.

    • Jenny, I also blogged about your giveaway.
      http://crystalmaness.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/win-free-groceries/

    • HAPPY BIRTHDAY Southern Savers. I would use the $50 at Publix and I pray I could get over $200 worth of groceries with the $50. I can’t say THANK YOU enough for all the savings you have allowed our family to save on groceries. THANKS!!

    • Tracey

Happy Birthday! This site has been such a blessing to our family. I would use the gift card at Publix.

    • Nicole N.

I’d love a gift card for BI-LO. I found your sight about 5 months ago and I LOVE it. I can’t wait each week for the bilo list. Thank you sooooooo much. Oh, I hope I could get at least 125.00 with the gift card.

    • Lori

I love this website. I just recently started coupon shopping and I love it. I would pick publix. I think I could get 100.000-120.00. Happy Birthday

    • Elizabeth

I would request a gift card to Harris Teeter. I am always scouting out deals and find that I can really save a bundle at the triple off promotions at Harris Teeter and I am able to stock up on items and fill the cabinets with treats that I would not normally buy simply because they are free. Many of my friends are often amazed at the deals I can get and I would love to be able to spend the $50 wisely. I promise I will maximize the value of it! Thanks so much for such a wonderful site. I am so glad I was able to recently stumble across it. I love the format and setup and how simple it is to navigate! Thanks for your dedication to helping us all save!

    • Leeann

Happy Birthday first and foremost! If I had a $50 gift card it would definately be to BI-LO. Let me just tell you that before Southern Savers I never stepped foot into a grocery store!!! I always would go to our “Bargain Barn” for closeouts. I would still end up spending 75-100 per grocery trip there. Since couponing and being introduced to Southern Savers in January, I go to BI-LO at least once a week and get way more food than the Bargain Barn and spend way less. Plus it is brand name items!!! I would hope that if I had the $50 gift card I could at least triple it. I am so excited that even If I don’t get the gift card, your website has definitely helped me save that much week over week, and I want to wish you luck with those new stores you will be adding.

    • beverly

hello, jenny thanks for all you do. i would love a chance to try out publix. i’m kind of new to coupons but am learning quick. i would say in the last 3-4 months i have saved about 1500

    • Candice

I always twittered about you :)

    • How exciting! Congrats!!! Thank you for all your hard work. I would love to see how far I could stretch this GC at Kroger!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Thank you for all you do Jenny!! Your website is fantastic!! I would choose Publix and I am confident I could save around $150 with that $50.00 gift card!

    • Wow! Happy Birthday, and thank you so much for all you do! Regarding your giveaway, I would love to at least double my money at Publix!

    • Happy Birthday! I look at your website almost every day. Thank you SO much. I would use my gift card at Kroger. Depending on the sales etc, I could get at least $100 to $150 worth of groceries. :)

    • Robin in Roswell

Publix all the way! A few weeks ago I saved $121 and only paid $49. I don’t know if I can do that well again but I’d surely like to try! I love Southern Savers and all that you do for us. Thank you and Happy 1st Birthday!

    • Elena

Happy Happy Birthday!!!! I am so glad you listened to your husband :) Thanks to your site I have saved a bundle on my shopping and can’t forget to mention the Amazon gc I won from here too!! I love your site soooo much so Thank You for all that you do for all of us. I would love to use the $50 at Publix and would aim for $150 or so worth of products.

    • TY

Thanks for all your help! We have been saving for 4 weeks now and have already saved $800. Publix is our favorite store and we save around $120 on $50 oop. Thanks again!

    • Lauren

Happy Birthday! A friend introduced me to your site about a month ago and I am now hooked on couponing. I have saved an incredible amount of money and can’t believe how silly I was before to pay full price. My family and I THANK YOU for all you do to help make saving a pleasure. Since I am new to this, I would probably be able to get $100.00 worth of groceries at Publix with a $50.00 gift card.

    • Delores

Congratulations, Jenny! One year — that’s awesome. I love your site and am so thankful for all the work you do.

Now… I can never score the great deals that others can, but I think I can finally say that with $50 giftcard to Food Lion, I could get $85 worth of items. If I really stretch it out, I might hit $90 over a few months.

    • Happy Birthday! What an incredible site you have. I can’t imagine how much money you have saved everyone. I would have to pick Publix. It is the best for so many reasons. I’m still fairly new at using coupons, but I’m certain I could get at least $100-$125 worth of groceries.
      Rai

    • Kasonya

Happy B-Day!!!! I’d like to choose Kroger. I think I could get about $75 worth of grocery. It’ll be fun trying! Thanks for all you do!!

    • Pat

SouthernSavers is the BEST site on the web! I am so glad I found it. (Wish I’d found it sooner.) I check it every day and use the articles/tips to plan my shopping for the week. Your tips helped me earn $16 ECB at CVS, this week, and I came away feeling so proud. If I had $50 to spend at any CVS store, I’d hurry (fast as I could go) to MY local CVS store!
      Thanks for all you do!

      Pat in Richmond, VA

    • srtasa

i would love a $50 gc. if possible i would like a card to harris teeter where i am sure that i could get over 100.00 worth of groceries. i would gladly drive to reston a couple of times when they have triples or when they just have a good sale week. i really miss our ht and we don’t even get their ad any more. they were my favorite store and they were open less than 5 years here.

    • Julie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! You are a life saver!

I’m new to the crew, but had my biggest savings ever last night at publix when I spent $18.17, and SAVED $55.56 So- If I had $50 to spend at Publix based on my trip last night I’d say that I could get $153.35 worth of groceries.

(I kinda like math- so if you take what I spent last night which was 18.17, and divided that into $50, which is 2.76 and multiply that by my savings last night of 55.56 you get 153.35!)

THANKS for all of your hard work!!! It is greatly appreciated!

    • Twittered! http://twitter.com/thompsonmarine/statuses/2117720818

      Thanks for doing this giveaway!!

    • Elizabeth

I would love the opportunity to get a gift card to Harris Teeter. I look forward to stocking up my coupons for the triple off promotions that they offer. The key is to go early before the shelves empty. I love to stock up on items and get treats that I would not normally buy but when you can get an item for free it is pretty nice. I enjoy the adventures of couponing and thank you so much for your dedication to this website. I am so glad that I stumbled across this site recently. I love the set-up and the easy navigation. Many of my friends say I can always find a deal so I would love to maximize $50 and show you how far I can stretch it. Thanks again and Happy Birthday Southern Savers.

    • Katie

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!
I would love a $50 gift card to Publix. I imagine I could turn $50 into $125 worth of groceries using the wonderful tips and tricks I’ve learned. Thank you Jenny so much for your dedication and hard work! You have made a huge difference in my family’s life because of the savings that I have found. You and your site are an incredible blessing!! Katie

    • CJ

Happy Birthday Jenny!! I found this site a few weeks ago, and I have been SHOCKED at how much I was spending that I didn’t have to… The first trip using your couponing advice I paid $55 for $210 worth of groceries! From that moment, I was hooked. Thanks for all that you do here.

I would spend the money at Publix, I can’t believe I never stepped foot in there before I found your site, they are the ultimate saver store.

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Your blog is so helpful and I appreciate all your hard work. I would like my $50 GC to be for Bi-Lo. I could probably stretch this to at least $150.(maybe even more if I shopped on a week like this one with all the buy one and get one free) Keep up the great work.

    • Rachael

LOVE LOVE LOVE the site. My favorite store to grocery shop is Publix, for a number of reasons. You can get GREAT deals, and not to mention it was my first job when I was 15! With a $50.00 gift certificate, I would get over $200.00 worth of food/groceries. My best week so far has been spending $0.22 (yes, that’s 22 cents) and I saved $96.48; I still have my receipt hanging on the fridge. I would LOVE to be chosen, AND I would gladly post some pics! Thanks again for your hard work!

    • Lindsay

I am so thankful for Southern Savers and for you, Jenny! Thanks to you I am now closer to my dream of staying home with my baby! Not to mention the excitement it’s added to my life! I can’t imagine how much time and effort you put into this. Thank you so much!

I would love a $50 gift card to either Publix or Bilo! Thanks to you, I shop both stores each week. I could get $250 worth of groceries with that! : ) How exciting!

    • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And congrats to you on such a successful site.

      At Publix I think I could make $50 = $200 in groceries.

      Thanks for the giveaway! :-)

    • Heather

Happy B-day. I love the site. I started couponing in Feb. and this site has helped me learn a lot. Thank you!

I would like a gift card to Kroger. I love that store. If I planned it right I would probably get around $75 to $100 worth of groceries.

    • Debby

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! How excited am I that I have found this website. Girl, I am on FIRE!!! I went to the class you held Monday, I have my coupons clipped and I am ready to go!! I would love to take the $50 challenge. I would use it at the Bi-Lo and work them over w/ all of my savings. The cashier would give me a ‘high five’ at the end b/c even she would be amazed! I think I could get $125 worth of groceries for that $50. I had never heard the terms “blinkies, catalina, or peelies” before your website. Now I get excited every time I see that little machine hanging out of the aisle. Give me the $50 and let’s see what I (a newbie) can do to make you proud!

    • Maranda

Happy Birthday!! I have enjoyed looking on Southern Savers to see the deals before they come out in the adds in our local newspaper. I would be using the $50 at Kroger. It is the only supermarket that we have in Texas where I live. I saved 73% last night on a shopping trip. I think I could save 65-75% on my shopping trip using coupons.

    • Kelly C

I don’t know if CVS counts in this, but I think I could get close to $300 worth of items with $50. I don’t live in the south so I don’t have the other grocery stores near me, but I still enjoy learning from your site for the drug stores that we do have and just seeing what’s on sale and what coupons are out there for items at your grocery stores. Thank you and congrats on such a successful year!

    • I only started “couponing” about two months ago. I had heard about savings with coupons but I could never figure it out. I have six children and you can imagine my grocery bill! A friend at work was telling me about your site and how easy it was to do. Thank you for being such a blessing. I shop between Publix and Kroger everweek. My kids get a real kick out of how excited I get over my savings. My favorite store is Publix, I think I could get more with $50 there than Kroger, but it all depends on the week. THank you and Happy Birthday!!

    • Jennifer Miller

Hi! I’m new to Southern Savers, but so far this week, I’ve saved so much money I’m addicted! I check Southern Savers several times a day and follow the ideas for saving at different stores. I bet I could get $150 with $50 following your advice!

    • Rita

Oh WOW, all this help in savings and you are doing giveaways also. This is awesome. Just found your site within the past few months and my savings are starting to show. It would be a toss up for me between Bi=Lo and Publix, this week it would have been Bi=Lo because of all the B1G1 specials.Yesterdays trip, spend 31.27, total savings 169.09. Could not have done that without your help. Thank you Southern Savers.
I’m a winner even if I don’t win the giveaway.
      Happy Birthday.

    • Mary Bess Young

      Happy Birthday, Southern Savers!

Jenny, you are my heroine. I just can’t thank you enough for all that you do. I started couponing in February after a class at church. Then, a few weeks later someone sent me the southern savers website address. What a difference!!! You save me HOURS of time every week, and you make it so fun. I will work on gathering all of the data from my receipts so that I can tell you how much you have saved me so far this year. I know it is already hundreds of dollars. 2 weeks ago, I got $101 worth of stuff at CVS for $25 and I had $5 ECB left! Last week, I got $90 worth at Walgreens for $20, no lie. And, all of this is great stuff!. Monday, 6/8/09, I bought $216 worth for $88 at Publix, and then I got $75 worth for $33 at Bi-Lo the same day! I know I am no pro like all of you guys, but I save well over half on my grocery bill. I had to buy a new freezer to hold all of it. 3-4 months ago, I had absolutely no reserves with concern to toiletries, health and beauty aids, and very little in my pantry and freezer. Now all 3 of my freezers are jam packed, I have two pantries that are packed to the gills and I have the top shelves of my very large master closet loaded with food (cereal, oatmeal, cake mixes, etc.) Plus, my daughters closet is loaded with toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex and feminine products, AND I have an entire dresser and an entire chest of drawers FULL of razors, shaving cream, deodorant, make-up, shower gel, hair care products, etc. Please forgive me for going on and on, but this is just too exciting. I never knew this world was out there and you make it possible for me to do it. You are an ANGEL!!! Much love, Mary Bess

    • Donna

Happy Birthday! This is the best site ever! I never miss a day of viewing this website! Jenny you are amazing! I would love the 50$ gift certificate to Publix! Just last week I bought 110$ dollars worth of groceries for less than 50$. I know Im not as good as everyone else but Im working on it!!!LOL! I go to the Publix in Alabaster,AL! I love them, they are wonderful!

    • James

Happy Birthday! And thatnks for all your hard work. You have really helped my family!!

    • trisha

Wow! Its been a great year! Your site has been such a great help!!
I would love the gift card to Publix! I think I would be able to buy over $100 worth of groceries for my family – that is usually around what I can save there!
Thanks so much for helping me save money for our family!

      Trisha :)

    • Annamarie

I am brand new to supersaving and havent’ quite figured it all out yet. I’m still saving about $15 to $30 per grocery trip but I have been able to save as much as 95% on some CVS trips thanks to what I am learning!!

    • Deeanna

I am beginning to wish I had a Publix from the comments. My choice would by Kroger or HEB.

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    • Becky

      Hi Jenny

I would love to win a gift card for Publix. That is where I do all my shopping. On a really good week, I think I could spend the $50 and save around $75. Thanks for the effort you put into this site. It has saved my family so much money. The kids college funds can now get the attention they deserve!!!

    • Trish

Happy Birthday Southern Savers and God bless you Jenny!!

I have been couponing since my friend Angela told me about the website in March. I would have to pick Bi-lo as my store, because that is where I spent $5.57 for $54.94 worth of groceries! I keep saying I am going to frame that receipt! Based on that shopping trip, it would be great if I could get $450 worth with a $50 gift card. But, that probably won’t happen. I would be tickled pink to do about $150! What a great challenge…I am certainly up for it.

Thank you Jenny for all your hard work, and for your giving spirit. I KNOW you have helped so many people…empowered them to be proactive about saving money.

THANK YOU to Mr. Jenny for planting the seed! : )

    • I would love a publix gift card! Such great customers service-
And good B1G1 deals-I would truly make that 50 bucks suffer.

thanks so much SouthernSavers for a year of Great deals.
I have a third child on the way-And we live on one income,
(teachers salary) Your website has made such a huge difference in the way we live & spend money. This website has truly been a gift. thanks again!

    • Jody

Happy Birthday!I recently started finding ways to save money and your site is definately my favorite for shopping tips.I would love to have a $50 Publix gift card and would probably be able to save at least $200 with it.My budget has gotten very tight and I only buy the deals.
I have to do my best each week in stretching the dollar and your site has really helped me save money on groceries.Thank you for all your posts.

    • Tami

I am new to this site a have enjoyed it in my back pocket lol. I would have thought you had been around much longer with so much knowledge. Thank you. I could take the $50.00 to publix and make it a good $150.00 to me. Thank you again for all you do. Tami

    • Lindsay P

I would love to win $50 to Publix. I am usually about the get about $100 to $125 worth of groceries for $50. I hope that I win.

    • terri

OOPS forgot to say what store! Publix of course!

    • Catrina M

It would be great to receive $50 to shop at Publix! I beleive I would be able to purchase between $125 – $150 worth of groceries with it. Thank you!!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I thank God for this site. Back in March of this year, my husband was making good money at what he does and it appeared that we did not need to save money (what a JOKE that is!!). I am a stay at home mom and I do all of the shopping at our house. I went to a ladies ministry event at my church and heard someone there speak about how she had started couponing to save money on her grocery budget. More than any other reason, I decided to start trying my hand at it, just to see how much money I could save. It was all a big game to me and I LOVE games… Little did I know that at the very same time, my hubby’s sales were going to DRASTICALLY slow down and that our income would be cut in half. Thanks to God and to web sites like Southern Savers, despite a MAJOR pay cut, we were still able to pay our bills because in the first month alone, I saved over $700! Needless to say, I’m hooked. I would never again go back to the way I shopped before. I have since started a blog and have now turned about 20 people at my church on to couponing!

Thank you Jenny and all of you who post comments on here. It has helped me so much! My grocery store of choice would be Bi-lo. I’ve gotten so much stuff for free from there! Their Buy one Get ones are awesome!

    • Oh yeah. I think with $50, I would get about $200 worth of groceries.

    • Nicole N.

Happy Birthday! I’d love a gift card for BI-LO. I found your sight about 5 months ago and I LOVE it. I can’t wait each week for the bilo list. Thank you sooooooo much. Oh, I hope I could get at least 125.00 with the gift card.

    • I have to say I just love this website. I have been cutting coupons for the past year and have saved enough money to peek the interest of my husband. Yesterday he asked if he could come to the grocery store with me to see how it’s done. Yes, he did go into shock. Keep up the good work.

    • Monika

I absolutely love your site and have gotten a wealth of information from you (and your helpers). I would love to add that my average savings per month is 50% but that is the average b/c times I save 80% and others only 20% ….. I love expanding my purchases but not the amount I spend. I would love to get a card for Publix, I am moving to the “land of no doubles” and publix is the main store of that area (florida) and I would love to get purchases similar to yours at the same store… BIG savings… but to guess how much I can get for $50 I would say that I could get $100 at least … and would love the challenge to get more than that!!!!

    • Alicia

Thanks Jenny for what you do and for offering this awesome opportunity. Since starting out in March I have exceeded my wildest expectations at saving money. My biggest successes have been at CVS, where I am consistently saving 85%. I think I could turn $50 into hundreds at CVS. This would be a blessing to my family and friends who I share my stockpile with.

    • Shannon

      Hey Jenny,
I am new at couponing and I love the savings I have gotten. My husband loves the variety of items that I bring home and my kids ask me how much I save. I have even gotten my girlfriends hooked on your site and they plan on coming to your couponing workshop in Savannah. (I went to one you did in S.C.)
If I win, I would use this at Publix. I typically save more money than I spend. One time I saved $143 and spent $60. Another time I saved $107 and spent $70. I am still learning all the tricks of the trade but it is so addictive!
Thanks again for all you do. You are truly a blessing to me and my family (and friends).

    • Kim

Happy Birthday SS!! You’ve been a lot of help to me and my family during a very tough time.

With 50.00 to Publix I know I could get at least two hundred dollars in products.

Good luck and here’s to another year!

    • Donna

LOVE this site! I’d like to nominate my friend Alison (fellow pastor’s wife). In March Alison and I along w/ 2 other minister’s wives took a wkend trip together to a minister’s wives conference. During that wkend Alison told us about your site. Since that wkend our youth minister’s wife and myself have been following your site and have saved a TON of money!!!! We are HOOKED on couponing the “right” way… We love Harris Teeter triple coupon wks so I’d love to see what Alison could do w/ $50. She makes these crazy trips where she gets $100 for $10 so I feel sure she could get $200 worth for $50!

    • Rhonda

I’d choose Kroger for a couple of reasons: 1) I earn gas discounts for every $100 I spend BEFORE coupons; 2) a small percentage of what I spend gets reimbursed to my church (its a gift card reward type program); 3)my local store has amazing clearance prices on organic foods (organic vanilla — $3 for 4 oz!!!); 4) electronic coupon programs–multiple; 5)manager’s specials on produce and meat.

      Thanks, and Happy Birthday!

      Rhonda

Happy Happy Birthday! Thank you so much for all the work you do to help us all save. I started couponing a couple months ago, and love to “play the grocery game” to see how much I can save. We finally stocking up on everyday foods we eat. Thanks to your great site :)
I would love $50 to Publix and the challenge of making the most of it.

    • Jennifer

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I think I could stretch the $50 to cover a savings of at least 40%. My favorite store is BiLo.

    • Val

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!!!

I would love a $50 publix gift card. I found out about your web site through a co-worker just 2 months ago. And I don’t know what I would do without it now. You help me and many others in such a big way, not sure if you know this but you are a blessing to me and my 2 boys. Since I have been using your site, with 2 growing boys I can finally keep up with them as far as keeping food in the house. They get excited every time I bring grocery home. I am getting really good at saving money when I shop for grocery, that I know with the $50 publix card I can save a lot more. Being a single parent the more I save on grocery, helps towards other things the boys need. So Thank You Jenny for all you do Happy Birthday Southern Savers and we look forward to many, many more!!!

    • Jen

I would definately pick Publix. Publix was my favorite store before I found you because of their customer service but I felt guilty because I thought that they were more expensive. Boy was I wrong. I bet I could get about $150 worth of groceries with a $50 gift card. And what fun I would having trying….

    • Jennifer

I’ve just started going to Publix thanks to your site! I used to stay away from there b/c it was always so expensive. Now that you’ve taught us how to shop there, I’ve been saving money! So, I guess I’d have to say I’d use the $50 at Publix and would get a grocery cart full of groceries! I usually save 60-70%.

    • Tracey

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers! I would love a $50 gift card to Publix, and I believe I could manage to get $200 worth of groceries with it now that I use your site to match my coupons with sales. I LOVE your site and check it daily. Thank you for saving us so much money!!

    • Laura B

Happy Birthday! I would love a $50 gift card to Publix. I save the most money their with their deals and my coupons. Jenny thank you so much for doing this!!! It really saves me a lot of time and makes couponing a lot easier! We have been on a tight budget here recently since my husband got laid off about a month ago and this site has really helped us to save money. I could get about $150 worth of stuff for $50.00.

      Thanks!

      Laura

    • Tina

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! I am new to this site and I think it is the best thing since sliced bread! I have saved so much money over the last month since discovering this website and really learning how to coupon. Thank you for everything you do and for this amazing site! I have shared it with friends and they all love it as well. I would use that $50 for my weekly trip to Publix where I would hope to save at least $125…but with this site, the possibilities and savings are endless!!

    • Jenn M

Happy 1st Birthday! If I was lucky enough to win, I would drive 30+ miles to Harris Teeter during TRIPLES! I think I could stretch the $50 into $200 in groceries. Hope I win to challenge myself to save!

    • Shannon

I would pick Publix. I normally save about 70%, so I’m guessing I’d get at least $170 for that 50 bucks! Thanks so much for the chance, and happy birthday! Oh, and I also blogged about your giveaway. sabysmooth1.blogspot.com
      Thanks!

    • Jane

Happy Birthday! Your site is a wonder! I would definitely choose Publix if I had a $50 gift card.

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Hi Jenny! I love your website. I used to spend $150-$200 a week just at Bilo. Since I found your website I now only spend about $90 a week between Bilo and Publix to feed a family of 4. I also have 2 dogs and a cat that love getting all of the free or almost free treats I’m able to purchase for them. Your website was an answer to my prayers. With my weekly savings I am able to double my tithing at church and give back to God for all that he has provided for us! I would love to win a $50 gift card to Publix. I know I could stretch the money and get a lot of groceries with it. Thanks again Jenny!

    • Kristin

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I come here daily to check out all the good deals. It has been a great help in helping me save and get a good stockpile. Thanks for all you do!

    • Deborah Martin

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would choose a gift card from Harris Teeter, where if I used it during triples with B1G1 I could save close to 70%!

Have you ever thought of including Lowes Foods?? I know you have your hands full and you do an amazing job, we just have Lowes here in NC (no Publix:(, no Bloom, no Harveys and no BiLo. Just a thought.

      Thanks!
      Deborah
      High Point, NC

    • Amy

THANKS SO MCUH FOR THIS CHANCE TO WIN!!

      AMY

    • Deborah

I would choose the Publix gift card. I think I could save around 70% using the gift card.

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!!!

    • Becky

Happy Birthday! Thanks so much for everything you do. This site has been such a blessing for my family and I have been able to donate items to our pantry at church because of the free and inexpensive items that I have purchased.

My choice of stores for the gift card would be Publix. I feel that I would be able to purchase $120-$140 worth of groceries with the gift card!

    • Debbie

Happy Birthday! I was introduced to your site about 3 weeks ago and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I’ve used coupons in the past but rarely because I always found the store brand to be cheaper. NOT ANYMORE! My teenage kids used to make fun of my store brand names. A recent one that comes to mind was a store brand called “Butter It’s Not”! Jenny, they took pictures and sent it to their friends and all roared with laughter! Thanks to your site I can now by the authentic “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter”, not get laughed at and save money doing it. I would love a gift card to Kroger. I’ve found that combining the Esavors and coupons have really saved me the most money. Thanks for all you do.

    • Deborah

I just twittered about this giveaway.

      https://twitter.com/lildbcakes

    • Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!! I love your site. I wish we had a Publix, but I usually shop at Smiths (Krogers)or Albertsons. I think I could turn 50$ into 120$!!

    • Kim

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! My friend from work actually got me into couponing and introduced me to this site. I’ve only been doing this since the beginning of January (maybe even December 08), but I remember my first trip to Publix. I spent $3.95 and saved around $47. I freaked out. You know that Ikia commercial with the lady yelling at her husband to start the car? That was exactly the way I felt!! lol =)

I’d like one for Publix. I seem to do far better there than at Kroger. $50 at Publix usually gets me around $150 to $175 worth of groceries and household products though on an exceptionally good trip I actually managed around $200.

    • Daisy

Happy Birthday! Your website is such a huge help to me, thank you so much and keep up the good work. I would like a gift card to Kroger, it is where I seem to be able to stretch my money the farthest.

    • Bette

Happy Birthday! I would pick BiLo because of all their fantastic BOGO sales. That $50 would easily get me $150. Thanks for your wonderful work to help my family save so much each week.

    • Christina

Thanks so much for everything you do. Happy Birthday.

    • Valerie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!!! What a way to bring blessings to so many families with savings for their families! I would use a $50 gift certificate at Publix….generally with $50 ….I would be able to save on a $125 -$150 grocery bill with products that my family will use.

    • Alicia W.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! You can do a lot in one year, Jenny! I would use the $50 at Publix and I could get over $100 for $50 easily. Thanks!

    • Jenn

Happy Birthday to you!!! Thank you so much for your committment and dedication to this website. I discovered your site in April and I feel like this is another way I can contribute to our family as a stay at home mom. It has turned grocery shopping from a chore to a joy for me; it’s really almost like a game for me. My pantry and freezer have never been so full spending so little. I routinely save almost 70% off my grocery bill. I would spend a gift card at PUBLIX. I love my Publix and I routinely save 80% on my groceries there. So, I think for $50.00, I could easily get $125.00 worth of groceries, if not a little more.

    • Gabby

Ooo! Fun! I really wish I had a Publix, but alas, I shall have to say I could probably get $100 for the $50 at Kroger (maybe more)!

    • Julie in GA

Happy Birthday, and thank YOU for the valuable service you provide to us with your site! My favorite Southern Saver store would have to be Publix! I’ll bet with $50, I could easily walk out having saved at least $50, but probably MORE!

    • Christie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!!!! I have LOVED this site since I discovered it a couple of months ago. Now that I know to clip ALL my coupons, use printables and check southern savers like 5 times a day, we have saved soooo much money and are able to have a stocked pantry with enough to give away to others!!! I love it! Thanks for all your hard work. We really appreciate it! I would probably go to Publix and I think I would be able to get at least $200 worth of groceries for the $50. Thanks again!

    • Happy birthday! Thank you for helping me save my family money.

I would love a Kroger gift card. My Nashville Kroger stores have been tripling when Harris Teeter does lately, and based on my past two go-rounds with Kroger triples, I think that $50 gift card could easily get me $275 worth of groceries during the next triples.

    • Karen

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! You are THE BEST! I’m somewhat of a newbie, but I think I save at least 50 to 60 percent at Publix.

    • Jen

Happy Birthday SS!!!! I absolutely LOVE your website- I pull it up before I even brush my teeth every morning!

Of course, since Southern Savers, I haven’t spent $50 on a single visit EVER! I could probably walk out with close to $200 in products for that money. Since we’re just a family of two, and I can only use SO much mustard (salad dressing, air freshener, etc)- we have started donating to the local food bank and to the residents of my grandmother’s senior citizen apartment building.

I would LOVE to win a $50 gift card to Publix. Before your website I always considered Publix the “fancy” grocery store. Now I can’t live without Publix bogos, FLIPS and Target coupon matchups! Couponing has become my favorite hobby and a way of life for my family. Thank you so much for sharing and being my coupon mentor! Here’s to another great year!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I’m a newbie here so I’m still learning. There sure is a lot to learn. I’ve always been a coupon user but I never really “studied” the sales paper to make my coupon worth more!

I would probably end up spending my gift card at either Publix or Bi-Lo on their B1G1F items…so that would mean a 50% savings for me (possibly more with coupons!)

Happy Birthday and wishing you MANY MORE!

    • lynn

i read wrong sorry grocery store i once st publix got 137.00 for 44 cents they sales and prices are amazing before coming here i use to be w windixie shopper cause i thought publix was to high boy was i wrong thanks jrnny thanks publix and thank god …… my answere would be publix

    • tonya

WOW, i had no idea your site was only one year old. i thought you’ve been doing this for years. now i don’t feel so far behind. i’ve been with you for about 3 months now.

i’m spending about $50 a week now at publix, as opposed to my old $400 a week bill (never looking for sales or using coupons).

unbelievable the money you are saving us.

thank you, thank you, thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MANY MORE!

    • I would use the $50 during Harris Teeter triples but I couldn’t possibly spend all $50 there! I don’t think I’ve ever dropped more than $30 during a triples event, and I always come home with several bags of groceries. In fact, I normally walk to the store which limits the amount of food I can bring home (and money I can spend) but I drive during triples week and I still can’t rack up $50! I’d have to use the rest slowly, which is exactly what I would do.

    • julie

Congrats on the 1st year!! Thanks for all of your hard work to run this site! I would love to win the prize for Publix and I think I could save 60% – 70% with it. Thanks!

    • Lori

I just love this site. I really can not say enough. Thank you for helping me to help my family in these hard economic times. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I love to shop Publix. I have already done a trip of $190 in groceries for $40. So I think I could easily do a trip of $200 for $50. I look forward to the challenge. :D I wish you continued success. Thanks again.

    • Teresa-qocd

Happy birthday! Bilo is my store of choice, unless of course, Blooms is tripling-wow.checked this sight around 8 and now there are 245 comments. Seems I”m not the only qocd.

    • Angela

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!! What a blessing you are to so many!

I would love a $50 gift card for Publix. I typically save 55-60% each week.

Thank you for everything you do!!

    • Ashley B.

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!
If I were to win the $50 gift certificate that would ensure my husband and I another 2 weeks worth of food and would make it a little easier for me to breathe after my husband lost an amazing job and is settling now for a job making $9 less on the hour. We are young (21 & 23y/o) and still learning that we need to SAVE our money for those little bumps in the road. $50 is a lot of money to us! I would use it at the local Kroger store because I would not only get great deals but also put money back into the local businesses that run around here and help to ensure the jobs of our family members and friends that work there!

    • Lori

      Jenny,
Congratulations on your 1 year! I would love to register. This year has been a trying time for us with my husband’s job loss but it has probably been one of the better that I remember. We have learned so much about ourselves this year, about how to be grateful with what you have, how to get by with what you need and have to respect that which you had (job). We are doing great with what God provides and with what we do to help ourselves. But, with the money, I would take my $50 to my area Publix. They are so great there with couponers like me. How much would I save with $50? Well it depends but they take any coupon under the sun; drug store coupons, competitors coupons, Target coupons, the list goes on and on. I average saving 50% on my groceries in general but probably save more like 60-70% at Publix. God bless that store :) Thanks and this is to Southern Savers and many more years helping people help themselves!

    • Jennifer

I love love love your website! It is the first place I check for grocery matchups! :) And it amazes me how many people in this area know your blog by name – my favorite cashier at Publix even reads your blog!

Ok, so that being said, I would love to have $50 to spend at Publix. Let’s see…my usual shopping trips are around $80 pre-coupons and around $4 post-coupons (my best trip ever was $140 worth for $1.18!), so that would mean I should be able to stretch $50 into…gimmie a second, I need a pencil and paper….$1000! Ok, that seems a little unrealistic to me, so let’s cut that in half and say $500 (although I think I could really do somewhere around $750) Oh, what a fun challenge that would be for me! :)

    • amy sanders

i could use the 50 at publix and get probably $150 worth of groceries thanks to all of your great tips!!!

    • sarah

I love your site – and am so thrilled that I was led to it – don’t even remember how I found it. You have helped me so much with the grocery bill but your biggest help has been helping me fill more bags of groceries for our local food pantry. Through the use of coupons, I have saved money (lots of it), built up a respectable stockpile of things we use regularly, made up goody bags for my grown and almost grown children AND made increased donations to a food bank. As a young mother and wife I was the odd bird who always used coupons and rebates which was amusing to many. I gave that up when I got busy and recently decided to reign in expenses and found your site which gave me the confidence to begin this again on a larger scale. My daughter tells me that she might stage a coupon intervention!!! If you choose me for the $50 giveaway, I will spend it in my favorite Kroger store – how much I will save is to be determined but if I follow my trend, it will be between 55% and 75% off.

Thanks and God bless you for all you do

    • Destiny

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! Love this site! Thank you for all of your hard work!!

I could probably get about $200 worth of groceries from Bi-Lo with $50. Thanks for this giveaway!

    • Ashley B.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would appreciate winning the $50 gift certificate and use it at the local Kroger! After my husband lost his job and is now settling into a job making $9 less on the hour I have learned to maximize my savings and believe me $50 is a lot of money to us right now! Not only would that $50 ensure us another 2 weeks worth of groceries but by spending it at the local Kroger it would also help save jobs for our family members and friends that work at the local store. Thanks for this chance and again Happy Birthday!

    • Amanda

I would love $50 for Publix! I could get at least $100 with that.

      Happy Birthday!!!!

    • Bella

Happy BDay SS! The first BD is always very very special.
I have shared this site with so many moms, even the ones that pay no attention to it the first time… until they feel the need to.

I have been couponing some for a few years now but with your dedication to helping us, I have been able to buy so much more groceries with the same budget that we keep. We are able to share our food with five other families for the basic needs and groceries, especially when the children are home for the summer.
God has truly blessed us and those around us through your vision. Thanks to your dear hubby too. I pray that the spirit of giving, within our power, is contagious. We can never imagine the blessings and provisions of God as we reach out to those in need.

I’d love to shop at Publix and if I win, all of it will go to help others in need.

God bless you, your family, and SS for many more years to come.

    • Brandy

I would do my gift card to Publix (where it’s a pleasure to shop) and I regularly get $200 worth of groceries for less than $50. Please Jenny, pick me! I will make you proud!!!!!

    • Molly

Happy Birthday! This site has been so helpful and I really appreciate the time to put into helping us all save money! I would love to use a GC to Publix and put all of the tips I learned to good use!

    • Toni

Happy Birthday!! Thanks Jenny for all you do. I only have a Harveys and CVS from your list of stores. But recently our Harveys has quit taking internet coupons – BUMMER. Since we dont have any of the other stores to shop at I have to go to Wal-Mart. I know Jenny you dont like Wal-Mart but when I dont have any other choice what am I supposed to do. But they will match most prices and take coupons. So I take my sale papers and coupons and off to Wal-Mart I go. One day I done really good I got around $75 worth of groceries for around $12. So if I could run across some more deals like this then I probably could do around $300. I will be glad to take a card from CVS or Publix. Publix is a 45 min drive for me but on really good sale weeks its worth is.

    • Erin

Since I have stumbled upon your site, I regularly save about 60-70% on my weekly grocery bill! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your passion to help other families. I would use the gift certificate at Publix, of course and would probably be able to get almost $200 worth of groceries with $50.

    • Megan Martin

Happy Birthday to Jenny and Southern Savers! I would love a 50 dollars gift card to Publix. Your site has helped me save mucho $$$ at Publix. I usually get $150 dollars worth of groceries when I spend $50 thanks to all of your hard work. Thanks for all that you do.

    • Allie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Publix is my most convienent store, so that’s where I do most of my shopping. They don’t take competitior coupons from Target or Food Lion, so I rely mostly only the weekly specials and coupons from the paper/online. I usually spend 1/3 of what my total grocery bill would be. Thanks for all you do!!! Hopefully I could get $150 for $50!

    • Daphne

Happy Birthday! Love the site. I would definitely use the GC at Publix. They always have the best deals for me. I think I could easily get $250-300 worth of groceries.

    • Tami

Happy B-day. Such a wonderful site. I would love the publix gift card for 50 dollars. I am sure I can get $200 worth of stuff with that. Thanks Tami

    • Jennifer

I just blogged about your giveaway:

      http://thecouponengineer.blogspot.com/2009/06/happy-birthday-southern-savers.html

      Happy Birthday! :)

    • Tina

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! This site and your workshop have literally changed my life. I’ll never pay full price again. I see people all through the grocery store and have gone up to a few and said “southern savers?” They have that determined look about them ready to save, save, save.

I could buy a whole buggy of groceries at Publix with $50.

    • Tracey

I would definitely use it for Publix. Since I started using this site and got my stockpile started, I now spend less than $50 a week on groceries to include meat, dairy and fresh produce. So I would definitely get at least a 60% savings from the $50, which is what I average every week. Thanks Jenny for all you do and Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

      Tracey in GA.

    • Since I started following your sales and coupon match-ups I’m regularly saving anywhere from 50% to 75%. I have even had a couple of trips with savings over 80%. I would love to try my hand and see what I could save at my favorite store, PUBLIX. I know that I could get at least $150, if not more, worth of groceries for $50. It would be fun to try.

      Happy Birthday, Southern Savers.

    • Jan

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Thanks Jenny for your dedication, inspiration, and perspiration! The website is so complete. I am new to couponing, attending the workshop in Lexington last month. I learned so much!!!
Since then, I have saved 60-70% on my groceries each week, and I am not fully sotcked on coupons yet. I would love a gift card to Publix, and would think I could at least double it!

    • Karen

You have such a wonderful site! I would love a gift card to Publix. I’m pretty confident I could snag at least $150 worth of groceries for my money

    • Lori

Publix…. where shopping is a pleasure :-). $50 would go a very long way. I can do some stocking up and also help buy food for a cook out a friend is having the end of this month. I’m hoping i would be able to get about $100 worth of food, out of that $50.

    • Heidi

I would definitely pick Publix. With thanks to Jenny, I’m able to do lots of shopping there again and find amazing deals!!

    • Lynn

Congratulations on a great year! If selected, I would prefer Publix. Since I’ve started reading this site we regularly save 50-70% on our Publix runs and I know it’s possible to do even better. I’d definitely be sure to make Southern Savers proud if I knew I had to report back on what I bought!

    • Karey

Hi and Happy Birthday! I was referred to your site a few months ago and love it! You have helped me save at least 50% every time I go to Publix. My husband is even in on the action and loves seeing our total go way down when we use the coupons. It is such a great service you do for us! If I won, I would love a gift card to Publix. I think I could get at least $100 worth of groceries. I am still stockpiling and learning, but I love that I can save so much by shopping sales and using coupon match ups. Thanks for all you do!

    • I love this site and will never pay full price again! I would love $50 to spend at Publix. I could buy I’m sure at least $120 or more of groceries. I need to stock up on cereal!

    • GA Alabama

Woohoo Happy Birthday!! I always check this site first because it is the only one I have found that has everything and tells me exactly what to do! I would love to win $50 to publix! I have a birthday camping trip I am saving money for and with my coupons I would get everything free!!! Thanks so much for spending so much time to provide this site- It has been a lifesaver!!

    • Coreen Gray

This is a reason to celebrate! I also just have to say “THANK YOU!” I am a newbie. I’ve been couponing only one month, but it has been one amaizing month. I know that I have saved at least $400 in that short time. I have now agreed to go on a cash budget that is half of what my monthly average has been over the past year for food and supplies. But the most wonderful thing is that couponing has enabled us to get more than we need and we are able to give the excess to our food pantry at church so that families that are really having hard times right now can come and get these items for free. Also, I have started feeding 10-15 extra people one dinner per week, simply to be a blessing in their lives! I am so grateful for the joy it brings! If I were to have $50 extra dollars at Harris Teeter, I don’t know how much I could get, but I could use the entire amount bless many families by getting as much as I could (probably $150 if I don’t get really unhealthy food… which I try not to do, even when it’s free to dirt cheap).

    • Michelle

Happy Birthday to you, S.S.!!! I absolutely love this site!! It has literally saved me hundreds of dollars in groceries! I come here everytime before I head out the door to the grocery store. If I was to win the money I would use it at Publix! I have been able to save so much money with coupons and awesome deals from Publix. With $50, I could at least double that or more in groceries with price deals and tons of coupons!!! Thanks!!!

    • Cori

I am a newbie to couponing, about 6 weeks into it now. I used to go to Walmart for all my grocery shopping and would come out with a bill of $200 and more, plan to take a few Q’s and then forget to use them. Not to mention the unnecessary things I would throw in the cart on a whim. I always thought “brand” groceries were to expensive even with coupons! Imagine.

Southern Savers was introduced to me at a friends little coupon workshop and since then I have walked into walmart twice. I use your list to shop, pasting it into a word document and only buy what I have on the list. I have been saving over 55% on my grocery bill. I can’t wait to see how much better it gets as I get the hang of this.

Publix is my favorite store to use. Thanks for all your time and effort into this website. You have saved us thousands of dollars!

    • Kathy

I am fairly new to Souther Savers, but I thank God for the savings that it has provided to my family. I am an avid Kroger shopper, and people in line behind me are amazed at my coupon savings. I turn, smile, and say one sweet little phrase…..”SoutherSavers.com”.

With an additional $50 at Kroger, I would stock our freezer with meat since there are rarely coupons for beef and pork.

Thanks again for all the tips and savings….Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

    • Joy Gleason

I would love a card to Publix. It is my favorite place to save! Happy Birthday to one of my favorite sites!

    • Lisa

      Happy Birthday!!!!

Thanks again for all that you do. With a $50 giftcard and your priceless information, I think my family could get over $150 of groceries at Publix. We have started donating our extras and it has really taught my kids that when you have more than you need pass it on to those that are in need.

Jenny, you are truly a treasure and we are all lucky to have you.

    • Jock

      Happy B-Day!!

Lets see for $50 at Bi-Lo I could get 2 All/Small and Mighty, 2 Surf, 3 Bryers Ice cream, 4 tubs I Can’t Believe it’s not butter, 2 Kool Aid cans, 2 Country Time cans (don’t forget about the dollar back on the Country Time), several spices, a few bottles of dressing (mainly free), 2 packages of chicken, some jello, several bottles of propel, some salad, couple of packages of cheese, and a meal deal…….oooo almost forgot about the free shaving cream – but then that doesn’t take any money does it? HA

Thanks Jenny, glad you answered the challenge. We husband units are good for something.

      Blessings

    • lisa s

I usually shop at Kroger, but there is a Publix across the street, with all these comments, I think I should give it a try…I bet I could get lots o stuff!

    • Brian Gleason

Happy Birthday!!! I like to go to Kroger to shop!

    • Since we dont have a publix :( I would use the gift card at Bilo which is the best store to double coupons here locally. If we could use it at a pharmacy then i would use it at CVS of course :) Thanks Jenny for all your website does.
Im also going to blog about this giveaway later in the day

    • Susan

Hi Jenny! I have using your site for a few months now and consistently save 65-80% on every grocery store trip. I typically shop at Harris Teeter and Lowe’s Foods (thought there are no great sites that include help with Lowe’s Food deals…maybe this is one of your “coming soon” stores? Wouldn’t that be great! ;))…

Thanks for all of your hard work. You are blessing many people and families!

    • Meghan

Happy Birthday to you! I have only been using this site and coupons for a few months and cannot believe how much money I have already saved! Thanks for all you do. I would love to try and see how much I could get for $50 at Publix.

    • Monti

      Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!!!

This site rocks…my wife and I are couponing together and it has turned in to our date night.

We would shop at Publix and could get a value of over $100.

Thanks for all that you do.

    • Abbie Messer

Happy Birthday! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate this site. I’m a young mom who is very new to couponing, but have found my new addiction. Thanks to you, the hard part of finding the “best deals” is already done for me. You’re the best! My percentage saving is increasing every week. I would love the $50 to Bi-Lo. After my trip last night, I could get a ton for 50 bucks. I only spent 85 last night on a 287 dollar bill. 50 bucks could go an amzing long way and so much fun in the process! Thanks for everything, Jenny! Pick me!

    • thriftygrenadian

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! I just want to thank for the service you provide each day. You are truly a blessing to many people. I am on this site several times a day (first thing in the morning and last at nite). Thank you!!! I heart publix and with your site you put the fun in grocery shopping.

    • MelRae

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Wow, Jenny….one year ago your youngest was only 4 months old and you had twins AND you started this site? You are amazing!

If I won the $50, I would want it to be for Publix. I have only been shopping there since October, since I joined the baby club and started getting coupons. I quickly realized, with the help of this site and others, what great deals I could get there every single week!!!

    • Kristy

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I have just recently found this site, and have found it so helpful. If I won the gift card, I would use it at Publix. Thank you!!

    • Anna

I think I could stretch $50 to $150 at Publix, but my husband said “oh come on, we can do $200.” During a good week (or two) he could be right, imagine that.

    • Cheryl

      Happy Birthday!

I would love a $50 GC to PUBLIX! I just started couponing a couple of months ago. I really save alot usually over 50%! You are truly a blessing! Thanks so much!

    • L

      Happy Bday!
Thanks for the fun giveaway. My store of choice would be Publix. I am sure I could buy over $100 of groceries with the $50 Gift Card…maybe more!
      Thanks for all you do.

    • Elizabeth

I would hope I could use my $50 at Publix to get close to $200 worth of groceries. I seem to be able to save between 60-75% on a regular basis.

Thank you so much. i hope you’re well-compensated somehow for running this site, it is an amazing help to so many.

    • Deana S

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY Southern Savers!!!

Jenny…THANKS so much for all you do. My husband has been laid off for 4 months now and when he was first laid off, a friend shared your site with me. I only THOUGHT I couponed before. You have totally changed my view of couponing. Now I share your site with everybody. Last night I shared my neighbor called me to ask me the name of the site because she had told her hairdresser about my savings. I just can’t say THANK YOU enough.

I am going to put my name in the pot for Publix. I used to only grocery shop at Kroger. I love Publix but always felt guilty shopping there because I felt we couldn’t afford it. I would occasionally go pick up a BOGO deal or two but now I find my best shopping trips are coming out of Publix. My favorite was a couple of weeks ago when I got over $200 groceries for about $45. HOLY COW!!! THANK YOU so very much!!! You are helping my family make it through these hard times.8 )

    • Sandi

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers,
Although, I just found your site in January 2009, your site has challenged me to find a coupon for everything I buy. With all your useful matchups for grocery everyweek, it has saved me bunches. I have become disabled and no longer able to work, so now I spend many of my days looking for a deal, or helping a friend find their way to couponing. Thank you for all of your useful information each week. I would love to win the $50 to use at Food Lion or Harris Teeter. I’m sure I would do nicely. Thank you for sharing.

    • Jennifer Matthews

      Jenny-
I know everyday you must feel blessed to read entries from your faith followers on how much you’ve helped them and their family’s. But have you ever been told how much you help the food banks. I volunnter at a Ministry Center every week. And I not only do I save for my family, but the food and household supplys I can provide for these families have been amazing. I have start my own good will of beening able to give 40 families a bottle 20oz bottle of dert. and 10oz of softner each month with help of family and friends. I tell every person that I know and will listen, And I always remind them that their are alot of people in need right how and if they can get something for nothing there is someone out their that needs it. I know because My family was one of them 2 years ago. Please know their are many people in the world that never find what talent God gives them. YOU MY DEAR HAVE FOUND YOUS!!!!!
I would use the $50.00 From either Bi-Lo OR Publix Towards More Dert. & Softner. With That amount of money I could help 100 more families. Thanks for everything you do.

    • Kara

I would choose Publix, but I bet on a “good” week I would have trouble spending it in one trip (I had to add a few things to make my total $40 a few weeks back in order to use the Bloom $10/$40 coupon). I would aim to save at least as much as I spent on groceries.

      Congratulations on one year.

    • Kathy

Happy Birthday! I, too, am celebrating a birthday tomorrow (the 12th) and have found that by saving money at my favorite grocery store, Publix of course, that I can spend a little extra on birthdays and make them special. Thank you for your hard work and helping others save money! And as extra incentive, I spent $2.68 last week at Publix, when my grocery bill was originally just over $150. Awesome!

    • Samantha

Happy birthday! I would totally go for Publix – their produce and meat selections are wonderful. I could easily stretch a $50 gift card out over several weeks at this store with 60-70% savings, thanks for doing the contest!

    • Debbie

Happy Birthday! I love your website!

    • Lisa

I would like to use it at shaws. I think that with 50$ I know i would be able to get at least 150$ in groceries but would try to get 200$! Love your website happy birthday! thanks

    • Wendy

My favorite store is Publix and since my dh lost his job I have been coming to your site and saving tons. I think with $50 Gc I could get over $100 in groceries for my family. Thanks for all your hard work.

    • I could buy at least 200 if I got a gift card to Publix, and I couldn’t imagine how much I could get from Walgreens, probably closer to 400!!

    • Maehing O

Jenny and Southern Savers… HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Congrats, and Thank you for all the hard work that you do… You sure did prove your Hubby wrong and with over a millioni hits less than a year later, Southern Savers is still going strong! I would definately spend my $50 at Publix… they are the best store in entire South! I could stretch that $50 into $300+… go ahead… dare me! Congrats again… and THANKS AGAIN!!!! Your class was also amazing… just like you!

    • Happy Birthday Souther Savers!!! I have been enjoying this fantastic site since February and may be a little obsessed. I have always been a coupon clipper but never to this extreme. We learned in early February that my husband was taking a substantial paycut and I knew that I needed to find other ways to save money. A friend of mine turned me on to your site and it has been instant gratification ever since. My husband calls my friends and I “The Coupon Cult”. We even had three ring binders made with some left over fabric and my neighbor’s monogramming machine. I have passed your site on to so many it makes me happy when I hear other people’s stories of their savings.

I would use the $50 gift card at Publix. They save me the most money each week and are the most coupon friendly. Since February, I have saved my family well over $1,700 in groceries using your tips and information. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I look forward to many more years of savings

    • Demaris

Happy Birthday!! Thanks so much for your website it has helped a lot in these tough times. I would use $50 at food lion, because that is the best place for deals around here.

    • Gail

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! I could do wonders at Publix with 50$ Thank you for all you do!!!!

    • Tracey

Wow! With so many wonderful readers, it must be so hard for you to choose! I have been one of those dedicated readers for about 4 months now. I have saved at least 1500.00 on groceries and toiletries since then. I tell anyone and everyone I can about your site. We have contests at school to see who saved the most. What a great addiction. I find myself checking the site at least 3 times a day. You do a great service to all of us money saving enthusiasts! Thanks so much. If chosen, I would spend my 50.00 at Publix, where I can get the most bang for my buck. Depending on the coupon matches and the B1G1 deals, I could probably get at least 150.00 (possibly more) worth of groceries with the gift card.

    • Melanie S

      Jenny,

Happy B’day, Southern Savers! Thanks for all you do to help make couponing and saving for our families so “doable.” Loved your presentation in Powdersville, SC last Thursday night. If I won the $50, I’d use it at Publix. I think I could probably buy about $125 worth. Thanks again!

    • Erin

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I am torn between Publix & CVS. I haven’t spent “real” money at CVS since learning about your site (loved those $3 Pampers last week!), so I can only imagine how far $50 in “real” money would go! I also love my Publix and just came home from one of my best customer service experiences at Publix (Dacula Village). That store is SUPER coupon friendly with signs in the lobby stating they accept ANY competitor coupon and they now have a coupon exchange box for customers to give & take unused/wanted coupons! $50 at Publix would last me for at least $300 in non-Southern Savers shopping!

    • Elise

I have such happy disdain for going to a store without coupons and paying full price for everything. Thanks for the education. Publix – $100

    • I would love to win this for Publix and I am sure I could get $100-$150 worth of items with $50 . I regularly save at least 50-75% off using your site. Keep up the great work! We all appreciate it!

      Crystal

    • Hannah

I only buy items that have ECB’s and I have a coupon for at CVS. I usually buy $20-$30 worth of stuff for $5 tops out of pocket. I also just got into couponing, so once I get more experience, I hope to do better!

    • I have been a Southern Savers addict for about four months now. It’s reduced our grocery budget by at least 50%. THANKS! I think I would choose Publix and I could get about $125 worth of groceries for that $50.

    • Laurie P

Greetings from the West Coast :)
Although we do not have most of the grocery stores over here that you have, I have found reading your blog most helpful in finding other deals and scenarios (rite-aid, staples, walgreens, etc) and think you do a terrific job! I would love a gift $50 gift card to Safeway, and think that I could probably stretch it to purchase $150-$200 worth of groceries. Thanks for the opportunity to win this great prize, and Happy Birthday!

    • Jasmine

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! Thank you for all you do!!! I would LOVE $50 to Publix.. My very favorite grocery store. I could get about $150 in groceries for that $50!! Thank you for literally changing the way we think and live when it comes to spending money- we are able to pay down our debt a LOT faster now that we are only spending a fraction of what we were spending on groceries/needs.

    • I would pick Kroger! My savings are ranging from 79% and up! I would say I could get $200-$250 in groceries with lots of planning!! And, of course help from your blog!! :)

    • I love this site, Jenny – I use it even though I’m in a slightly different area and sometimes the prices are different because you’re SO organized and I love it. Thank you for all you do!!

    • Tweet tweet!!

And I shop at Kroger! :)

      http://twitter.com/mandyhornbuckle/status/2119317527

    • Happy Birthday Southernsavers!!! AMAZING!!!!
January of this year I found your website. And it changed our budget. WOH!!! I’m saving a lot of money and your website is so helpful and helped me saving all that money. I’m also making a excel spreadsheet with the $ that I spent and the $ that I save. For example in the month of March I saved $ 639.10 UNBELIEVBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY MORE BIRTHDAYS SOUTHERNSAVERS. And with a $ 50.00 giftcard I can for sure double it with groceries by PUBLIX.
Again Happy Birthday and Thank you so much for helping our family saving money.!!!!!! Anja

    • Tessy

Great site!! I’d pick Publix and since I’m new to couponing, I’m not sure how much I could save but I strive to be as good as you!! :)

    • Deanna

I’m not even from the South (Indiana) and I love your blog.

I’ve went from spending $350-$400 for 2 people to $200-$250 for 3 people (or more when I babysit).

My store of choice would be Kroger, since that’s the only one we have that you cover.

      Thanks for all you do!

    • Jill

I would love the opportunity to see how much I could get at Publix with $50. I am pretty sure I could get close to $200 with it there on a good week. Thank you for the chance for this and thank you so much for all of your hard work. It is GREATLY appreciated!

    • Christy L

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! I first saw you at SPOTS and then went to see you in Lexington. I LOVE your site and it is making a big difference in my life :)

I would use my $50 toward Publix. I loved it before but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it now!!! If Tuesday was any indication I could save 60% I spent $126.21 and saved $88.82!!

***Thank You for all you do***

      Christy (Blythewood)

    • Katie

We have started saving an additional $200 per month now that we’ve been using your site the last 9 months. We usually stretch our dollar the farthest at Publix though. For $50 we could probably bring home at least $150-200 worth of groceries, over the course of 2-3 weeks! Thanks for all you do to make shopping AND saving take less time!

    • Amanda C

Happy belated Birthday, Southern Savers!! I began couponing in February of this year by doing google alerts – and that is how I found your site, Jenny. This Saturday, will be a benchmark for me, as I am teaching my very first couponing class:) I am so excited!! I would definitely have to say that I could get between $150-200 worth of items at Publix for $50. Once again, thank you SOOO much for all that you do, and know that you teaching me how to coupon is about to change the lives of 60 families this Saturday!!

    • Sara Ellen

Hello….I was the southern savers rocks girl. Well, this morning I lost my coupon box and I am just to tears and a bit heart broken. I dont know how much I could save now, but I know that I would try my best. Have you ever lost your box? Hours and hours of work? Thanks for understanding.

    • Rebecca

Love this site. Its been so helpful at getting me started. I’m new to couponing, but am loving it! Kroger is the place I love to shop…well, if i had a publix I would shop there…but Kroger is my store! I would save 50-60% even more with good planning!

THANKS so much for all the time you put into helping us ALL save.

    • Deirdre

I would do Publix or Bloom. I could save between $120 and $135 at Publix or Bloom(if it were are triple coupon weekend at Bloom.

I talk about your site with anyone who will listen. Most of my playgroup uses it too. During triples at Bloom there are many of us that walk around with your lists.

      Thank you so much!
      Deirdre

    • Beth

I’d have to spend the $50 at Publix. If my competitive spirit wasn’t a factor, I’d probably save around $50 (50% is my normal savings there because of all the organic I buy). However, if I knew I had to report back to SS AND take a photo, I’d do much better … why don’t you pick me and find out how much better! :)

    • Becka

I have been folloing your site for just about 9 months now and have saved thousand of dollars. I just love your site. I have to share a funny moment about coupon shopping. Last night I got my coupons all organized, picked up all my shopping bags and headed to my kroger store which is 20 minutes away but doubles coupons to a $1.00. I got a great parking spot, got my cart and put my bags and coupons in it….I couldn’t find my purse…OMG i forgot my purse. I went all the way back home and didn’t bother returning. Bummer! Many of my coupons expired yesterday.

    • Rachel

I could do so much with $50. I’m having trouble deciding whether to do Publix or CVS. I could get so much stuff from either place. I’ll probably pick Publix just because I’m there every week. I could probably get $120 worth of stuff for that much.

My husband just told me he got a cost of living raise of $.80 which averages to about $32 a week. Last year I would have thought that was useless. Now I actually told him, “Great! I can get a lot of groceries for that.”

Thanks for helping my family save money!

    • Leigh Anne

Happy Birthday! Thanks for all your hard work! I have saved SOOOOOOOOOOO much money since I’ve been using your site! What a blessing it has been to my family. I choose Publix, since it’s my new favorite store; I would estimate I could get about $150 worth of groceries for $50.

    • becka

Happy Birthday! I haven’t been able to post so I am just checking.

    • Rhonda B.

      Hi Jenny,
I am truly impressed with the women who have left comments. I knew you changed the way people shop in Thomasville, but these comments are truly inspirational. The impact you have had on many people’s budgets and in turn, their lives, surpasses even this long list. I enjoyed your class, love your posts and appreciate you, your husband (and family’s) commitment to your site. Without their support, this would not have made it one year. From the bottom of my heart (and wallet), thank you!
I love Publix and if I won, I would work very hard to spend that money – and track it, than I currently do.
btw: when you come south again, look us thomasville-ans up! We’ll buy you lunch!

    • joei

      Happy Birthday!

I would love, love, love a publix gift card! I have been doing so good there. I could get $200 for $50

    • Betsy

Happy Birthday! I love this site! I check it almost every day and frequently recommend it to others. I would LOVE $50 to Publix. I think I could get $125 worth of groceries for $50. Thanks!

    • Spring

Thanks for your work at helping us save! I love to shop at Publix and rarely ever pay more than 30-40 cents on the dollar with each shopping trip.

      Thanks again,
      Spring

    • Stacy
    • Wow! I can’t believe it’s only been a year. I must have found you on day one. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Based on my average shop (84 to 90%) I think $250 to $300 is a really reasonable estimate for a $50 Publix GC (although with unlimited trips, who knows).

It would be a hoot if you did this with the pros (blogger types)sometime, just to see what they would come up with. I know of at least 3 women in my area (Kelly, Trina, and Starbucks Girl) that I am quite confident could match or exceed this with ease.

      Have a very happy b-day!

    • Sindy

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

Please put me in the hat, if I win I will double the $50 dollars and donate to the local Soup Kitchen………

      Thankyou

      Spartanburg, SC

    • Betsy

Happy Birthday! I love this site and frequently recommend it to friends. I would LOVE $50 to Publix. I think I could get at least $125 of groceries for $50. Thanks!

    • andea

Happy birthday to you! I love saving money, how bout you? Lol! I have found that I do my best @ bi-lo and cvs. I just went to bilo and got $300 worth of groceries for $85! I love coupons! And with your help I have saved enough money that I can make an extra house payment! Thanks a bunch!

    • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Your site is such a blessing to us as we strive to save money. We would love to spend the $50 at Publix. We typically save 50-80% on each trip to Publix, so I would make 75% savings the goal!

    • Lee Ann Daniel

Happy Birthday! I visit your site 4-5 times a day, You have made it very easy to save money. I am able to save about $400 a month with your site! I would like a Gift card to CVS. All the diaper possibilities!!!

    • ChristinaD

Wow! What a response! I would have to say Publix (along with most of you). I’m so used to my grocery bill being low (thanks to you) that I just about fell over on Monday night when she said that my total was $52.46. I haven’t heard a number that big in quite a while. I was disappointed even though my total savings was $178.69 because I had purposely tried to get my total up over $100 (before coupons) so that I could use a Bi-Lo coupon from the Entertainment Book- 10% off order of $100 or more….. well, the manager came over and told the cashier to wait and scan it LAST! Yep, AFTER all of my other coupons. It meant the difference between getting $16 off and $6.23 off. Oh well, I guess I should be glad they took the coupon at all! But hopefully I could use a $50 GC for even better savings!

BTW I just redeemed the free subscription to All You that I won at your class in Greenville- it was SO AMAZINGLY EASY! I just popped in that code and my address and DONE. Thanks so much! I so enjoyed meeting you. As Anne Shirley would put it, I think you’re a “kindred spirit”!

    • Kamille

Happy Birthday! I love your site. Extremely helpful!! Thanks!

    • Kamille

Happy Birthday! I love your site. Extremely helpful!! Thanks!

I’d like a giftcard to Publix…and I could easily save 50% off my groceries. I did it this past Sunday and was very proud of myself :)

    • becca

Happy Anniversary…..I think I could get $180 worth of groceries! Thanks to you!

    • Corlie

Hi Jenny! Happy 1st Birthday to Southern Savers! With all the money that your site has saved my family, it seems you should have been doing this much longer! $1550 and counting saved since the first of the year!! I would spend a $50 gift card at Bi-Lo. Sadly we don’t have a Publix around here, I sure wish we did. I bet I could get $150 dollars worth of groceries with a $50 gc, especially with the sales this week! I am so thankful that a college roommate led me to this site, I have inturn brought many others here and also to the couponing class! We want you to come back to Florence really soon!! (missed due to a sick child) I thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for your dedication to this site and to helping families save mucho money!!

    • CindyM

      Happy Birthday!!!!!!
This site has already saved me money so $50 would be the icing on the cake. lol
I shop at farm fresh or Harris teeter. I usually save about 60%. But free money would encourage me to do better than that.
      Cindy

    • chic10001

Publix is my store of choice. With the help of Southern Savers I could stretch $50 to purchase $200 worth of groceries. Thank you for all you do! I know in the last 9 months I have saved $$ thousands $$ thanks to your deals.

    • Christy G

Count me in! My favorite store is Publix. I can easily get close to $150 from a $50 gift card if the deals are great. Thanks and Happy Birthday SS!

    • Susan

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!! I would go for Publix. My best to date was $137.47 for $21.17…I luv Publix!!!

    • Keri

Thanks Jenny for all you do. It’s gives this SAH mom something else to focus on. I would love to cover Publix since I used to LOVE shopping there. Once we chose for me to stay-at-home, I had to go to dreaded Walmart. But not anymore. You allow me to enjoy my shopping experiences once more at Publix. You are running a true ministry. God Bless…I’m up for the challenge to spend that $50 bucks to supply food for my family of 3 for the month!

    • I love your site!!! It is the best!!! Happy birthday Southern Savers!!!! And many more!!! I think I could buy 200 dollars of groceries for $50.00!!!! Thanks for every thing you do!!

    • Cindy G

      Jenny –

WOW! That’s the only way I can describe the savings we’ve had since my husband (yes, that’s right – husband) decided we should start couponing! We were Wal-mart shoppers because it was the only way we could afford to feed our 3 teenagers (and put gas in the car!) Since we started 1 month ago, I haven’t been into Wal-Mart at all! We save LOTS of $$ at Bi-Lo but I truly believe that I can save the most at CVS. . . this week alone I bought over $100 worth of items and only spent $14.00 OOP. I can make a $25 gift card go a long way and can only imagine what I could do with $50. Thanks for all that you do and I look forward to everything I’m able to learn from you and this site! Great job and Happy Birthday.

    • Joy

Well, Happy Birthday! I had no idea that you’ve only been around for a year; you’re so awesome, I figured you had been around much longer. I’ve only been following this site for about eight months. Thanks a million times for what you do!

I would love a $50 card for Publix. I think I could at least get $200, but recently I spent $2 and saved $102(thanks to your site), so if I could ever get a bunch of deals like that, I guess I could actually get $2500 worth! I know I’m just dreaming….hehehe

    • Christy

Happy Birthday! I would love a GC to Bilo. I am new to couponing and would love to try out the B1G1 deals right now. I would say I could get $100 worth of groceries out of the $50 GC!?

    • Jennifer

I love Publix, especially with all the savings I have done over the last month. I had a friend just share with me the money they have saved and I love it. I have a family of 7 and would spend about $800-$1000 a month on groceries. Last month I saved over half of that!! Thank you so much! Happy Birthday!!

    • Stephanie

I would definitely want the money for Publix. I probably don’t do as well as some people. I usually get around $150 of groceries for $50.

    • LB

      Hey Jenny!

Happy 1st Birthday! I have to admit I was relieved when I read that your site has only been around for a year. I started using this site in November (after PAYING! for 2 lists from another site for 2 months – DOH!) and I’ve often wondered how long I had been missing out. Now I know it wasn’t that long. I’m so thankful for my friend who told me about your site, for your husband for giving you the encouragement to do it, and most importantly for you for putting so much of yourself into it. This has been a blessing for our family and all the families I have referred to this site!

I would like to win a $50 gift card to Publix. I almost always spend about $50 for about $150 worth of groceries. If I only spent it on list items I would get a lot more than that with the $50.

Thanks again for all that you do!

    • cindy

PUBLIX of course!! I bet I could atleast triple the value… i love a grocery challenge!

    • Linda

      Hi Jenny,

I love using your site! I’m still learning the tricks with coupons, but have already saved so much. Publix would be my store of choice.
I think I can get a minimum of $100-$150 with the $50, hopefully more.
Thanks for all of your hard work and help. My husband appreciates it too!

    • Heather

HaPpY BiRtHdAy!!!! Woo hoo! I’d love to enter this contest…you make saving SUCH fun, Jenny, Thank you! I think I’d prefer Publix, but Bilo is great, too…I’d be thrilled either way to get $50 to purchase about $180 worth of groceries.

    • Kelly

I would definitely choose Publix. It’s my favorite! I think I would save $70-$80 if I spent $50. Happy Birthday Southern Savers.

    • My household saves $500 per month, and you are a big part of that! I regularly save 75% or more at Publix. I just bet I could buy $200 to $250 worth of groceries with that $50 Publix gift card!

    • PJ

Happt Birtday! I am so thankful for y’all My husband travels a lot and I get lonely. I am leagally blind and can’t drive, but I have several of these stores in walking distance. I walk and walk, to get the deals sometimes I have to make two trips because I can’t carry it all. This fills my time and my pocketbook and I have lost weight. Talk about meeing all my needs! At Bi-Lo I could get $150 to $200 worth of graceries for your $50 Thanks for the challenge. This is my first time leaving a comment I hope I did it right

    • Deirdre

I would do Publix or Bloom. I could save between $120 and $135 at Publix or Bloom(if it were are triple coupon weekend at Bloom and there was great mark down meet available. We love their meat.)

I talk about your site with anyone who will listen. Most of my playgroup uses it too. During triples at Bloom there are many of us that walk around with your lists.

      Thank you so much!
      Deirdre

    • Happy Birthday!

I think I could get $125 worth of groceries at Publix!

    • Kim

I had to laugh when this came through on my feeds. Your website and I share a birthday!

Hmm, if I won, where I would go is easy: Publix!!!!! And given the specials that you’ve helped me get the last few months, I’d have to say I could get at least $100 dollars of groceries for $50. Better if the sales are there.

    • Angel G

Thanks for all you do! You have the best website for tracking deal by far.

My Store would be CVS. I love walking out with those receipts that say total due $0.00 and ECB print out on the bottom. A $50 gift card would get me at least $125-$150 worth of great stuff.

    • Lindsay

      Happy Birthday!

I come here every week for the Publix matchups, so that is my store of choice! Depending on the matchups, I think I could get $200 for $50!

    • DAHNELLE

If I won, I would definitely pick my favorite store ever, Publix. I think that I could at least get $200 worth for $50 there, if they keep up these great deals!!!

    • Kristin

No guessing, It would be Publix. I’d say I could purchase $100 worth of food items for $50. I generally save half of what my grocery bill is and spend about $40 per week there.

    • Mary

Publix for sure. I save about 80% thanks to your site!

    • Colleen

Southern Savers has changed the way I shop, and I am constantly surprised and amazed at how much money I can save each week. Thank you for posting your deals and encouragement. I ewould love to spend my gift card at Publix. Thank you for all of your work, and Happy Birthday!

    • Christine Theilacker

Happy Birthday! Would love $50 to Publix. It’s so fun saving money!!

    • Jennifer

I’m the same Jennifer as #33. I was just reading back through and didn’t want to be disqualified for not putting the store that I would choose. I didn’t put that because I couldn’t decide between Publix and Bi-Lo but after further thought I would like Publix because then I could try the ConAgra deal (if that is still going on) and get even more savings!

    • I would love, love, love $50 to spend at Publix. It has far surpassed any other store in savings thanks to your help. I usually save about 50% on my groceries every week. So, I know I would save at least that much. I’m also trying to stock up on diapers and formula before our 3rd child comes. This $50 would go a long way toward that. Thanks again and Happy Birthday!!

    • I LOVE YOUR SITE!
I am hooked! It is part of my morning routine!
I would love to have $50 to see how far I could go in HARRIS TEETER. It is my fav, and I can usually at least double my money there!

      Thanks for everything, happy birthday!!

    • Stephanie

Thank you so much for this site. I have been using your site since the first of the year and I am absolutely addicted! This is the first place I come to every morning. I would use the $50 at Publix. That has become my new favorite store. I would think with $50 I could easily get $200-$225 worth of groceries :) Thanks again for all of the hard work and time you put into this site so we can all save money :)

    • Krystal

Happy Birthday!! I love shopping at Publix!! I hardly ever go to walmart now thanks to you :):) I think I could get around $100-$125 for $50. Thank you for all your hard work!

    • Jenn R

Thanks so much for your work. Your site has helped us survive the last couple of lean months.

I think I can get $110 worth of stuff with $50 at Publix.

We love couponing. It has made grocery shopping a fun game for us instead of an overly expensive weekly chore!

    • Kelly

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!! I would love to receive a $50 gift certificate to Publix. I think I could save at least $150, possibly more. Publix is sooooo customer friendly!!!!!

    • Amanda

Wow — who knew that I found you just a couple months after you started this. I would never have guessed!! I figured you’d been at it MUCH longer — now I’m even more impressed! Publix would be my store of choice. Some weeks are better than others, of course, but on a good week I could get $150+ worth of stuff for $50. Gotta love Publix for the free and overages — heck, Publix is the best all-around here as far as coupon friendly stores!

    • Happy 1st Birthday! Thank-you for all you do to help us all!

I would love to win $50 to spend at Publix. Depending on the B1G1 sales and corresponding coupons, I think I could save at least $150. That would be SO much fun!

    • Alicia

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! We are SOOOOOOOOO thankful for your site! I would use the $50 card at Publix, and I have to say specifically the Publix on Dorchester Rd in N. Charleston. The manager there (Mr. Arnold Ruiz) is amazing with his coupon policy. I think that with the $50 card, I could buy $215 worth of groceries easily. I average about 75% savings, and have been sitting 80% pretty regularly as of late.

Thank you again for your awesome site. YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!

    • I am new to the coupon world. I have loved the savings but sometimes it is overwhelming for me. However, I am thankful for this site and the time that people have put into it. Just yesterday, I went to Bilo and spent $33.29 and my total saving where $38.85. I was super excited when I saw that. I actually did it. I had my husband with me and I was trying to explain to him that buying two or four items at a time was going to save us in the long run, and after he saw the saving we had, he was happy also. I think I would pick Bi-Lo. The weeks that they have the B1G1 are great. I always shopped at Wal-Mart and just assumed that I was saving money but my eyes have been opened. If I take a little time to cut coupons and look at the sales papers and SOUTHERN SAVINGS I can have extra money for shopping =)

I choose Bilo and I think I can at least get $100 worth of groceries for $50.00.

Thanks again for everything that you do for us all.

    • Ashley

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I really ENJOY couponing now! My favorite store is Publix and I think I could probably get over $200 worth with the gift card. Thank you for all you do!

    • Ginger

Happy Birthday! I would use the $50 at Publix but may not get a great deal, I’m sure I would use $40 of it to buy a Chocolate Decadence cake to celebrate your birthday! (I promise, I would share it with you from Alabama)
Otherwise, my best deal at Publix so far has been a bill of $217 (before coupons & AFTER B1G1’s) reduced to $32!

    • Jamie

I routinely save about 60-70% when shopping at Publix thanks to your awesome help so I imagine would do the same when using a $50 gift card :)

Happy Happy Birthday!! and many more to come!!!! :)

    • Maleca

Happy Birthday Southern Savers and many more. I enjoy the website and check it almost everyday. I would enjoy a gc to Harris Teeter. I love triple coupon week. Thanks for all you do. Your work is greatly appreciated.

    • I would love to have $50 to spend on groceries! I go to Publix and Kroger. I would probably use it at Publix because of the great B1G1F deals they have.

    • Julia

Happy Birthday! Southern Savers is truly a blessing and has saved us so much money. I don’t know how I ever shopped without it. I would love to receive a gift card. I’m a Publix die hard.

    • Happy Birthday, Southern Savers! I am so thankful for your website, and wish you many more years of savings!!! I would love to have a $50 card from Publix. They have awesome sales and great deals on milk and meats. With $50 I would go buy the penny item, sale items, milk, and bread for the week. Thanks for giving the opportunity to win. We are expecting our 3rd baby and are penny crunching, this would be awesome!!!!

    • Samantha

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would use $50 at Publix. Without coupon doubling here in FL though I would say I could probably get $120 worth of groceries.

    • Happy Birthday! I would love a gift card to Publix. I think that I could get at least 150 with the $50 card…maybe more if I really take on the challenge :)

    • Jenn Gray

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! The site is amazing and I don’t know how I shopped without it! Thank you so much for all you do.
I would use the $50 at Publix and could get 125 to 150 worth of goodies! Thanks again for your hard work!

    • I would love to use the card for Publix if I had to choose just one store. Usually I get my best deals if I do Publix and Bilo. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I can buy $120 for $50.

    • Tracie

      Hi Jenny!

I am so happy for you! What a grand year it has been! I have been with you since January and loving all of the savings!

I would love to win too! I average 50-60% savings at Kroger. So I am guessing I could get 110 for 50. No Publix or Bi-Lo in Wheeling WV.

      Tracie

    • Amy

I use your site to decide how to shop every week. I also attended your seminar last week in SC! Very, very helpful!!!!!!

We started using coupons in February after I had some health expenses. I usually save 50-60% buying our regular groceries. So…I would probably be able to get $130 with 50. We buy tons of produce and organic food for our family. I could save more without the produce but this is realistically what I can do when buying “normal” provisions for our family.

Hope to get a chance to prove it!

    • Phillis

Jenny, I am new to “Southern Savers” and loving it. My friend, at work, introduced me to this wonderful site. In just my first three trips to the grocery store using coupons I saved over $150 and spent maybe $30. I have been buying items that I would have never thought that I could get free or for pennies. My husband thinks I am a criminal! In his first visit with me for $.47 I purchased 2 bottles of A-1 sauce, 2 packages of chinet plates and one package of toilet paper (no coupon on the paper, but overages practically paid for this item.) He told me that I needed to go back to the store and tell the manager that something wasn’t right. In another trip he told me that ” I was going to get caught.” He couldn’t believe that I purchased $50 worth of groceries for $8. Anyway just want to say how much I am enjoying saving money and thanks for all your hard work. I hope to meet you in Murfreesboro on July 11th.

I would love a gift card from Publix. I think that I could get $200 worth of groceries for $50.

      “Happy Birthday”
      Phillis

    • Sylvia

      Jenny:

I would love a $50 GC to Harris Teeter. They seem to have really good deals and are so coupon friendly at the one I go to. I would say I could probably get about 150.00-200.00 worth of groceries. Either way this is a great personal challenge as I started out with coupons at CVS, but have graduated to grocery stores. It is so addicting, but a big stress reliever for me. Thanks for doing this,

    • Mrs K

I would like a Bi-Lo Shopping Card, please. I appreciate that they double coupons. For $50 … I’m thinking that I could get AT LEAST $100 “worth.” I use “worth” loosely because I would never pay the full price for many of these items (I won’t even pay half price [the buy one get one free] price for many of the items). I also shop at Food Lion and rarely at Publix (it’s about half an hour away). Thank you.

    • Denise

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! My sister turned me on to your site a few months ago, and I am now teaching coupon classes and telling everyone I know about it! Thanks for the research and deal ideas. I would love $50 to Publix – our family could get $125 or more in groceries/supplies for that amount.

    • Tamra

Happy Birthday SS. I also have a birthday this month so I am happy to be in with such a great crowd. I would like the certificate for Publix and I think I can get around $300 worth of stuff from there. It is one of my favorite stores.

      Have a great day

    • Happy Birthday, Southern Savers! You have helped me save so much over the past year. I can’t thank you enough.

I would love to spend the $50 GC at Food Lion. Because Food Lion es not double coupons, I average 60 cents on the dollar there and anticipate over the course of a month or so I could turn that $50 GC into $90-125 worth of donatable groceries.

    • Stephanie

Happy Birthday SS! I’d love $50 for Publix….never went there before your site….now it’s my go to store! Thanks for everything!

    • Jennie

Happy-Happy Birthday. This site is amazing. Thank you for everything you do and all of your hard work. I love getting good deals and it gives me a little HIGH when I get a bunch of stuff for not a lot. I would love a Kroger GC. Thanks, Jennie

    • ginger

I would love to win a card to Publix. I always thought Publix was really expensive until I started following your site about a month ago. Now I save around 70% on groceries every week, and my pantry is well stocked. If I won the card, I think I could parlay that $50 into at least $160. Thanks

    • Denise

Thanks for the giveaway! Your site is a great resource; I never saved this kind of money on groceries before.
I would love the gift card for Publix. I know I could at least double my money there.

    • Adrianne

Jenny – I am AMAZED that you’ve only been doing this site for a year – it’s so well done! Many thanks to you – if it wasn’t for you and this site, I honestly don’t know how I’d eat in my current living situation and that’s not an exaggeration. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do!

If I won, I’d love my GC to be at Bi-Lo and I would probably easily get close to $350 worth of groceries (dry goods) or at least $100 of produce and meat.

      ::fingers cross::

    • I would definitely spend this money at my favorite Southern Savers store, Publix. I love the smooth green and peach colors in their store…it makes me happy to spend money there! How silly is that? I KNOW I could get $125 of groceries for $50 after stacking coupons (which Publix is cracking down on, by the way). Thanks and happy birthday!

    • Nikki White

Happy 1st Birthday Southern Savers!!! You have been such a blessing to my family. You have been an answer to prayer. About 1 year ago my husband lost his job. We had no idea how we were going to make ends meet. Then, I was introduced to couponing. Your website makes it sooooo easy to coupon match and find the best deals. I love it!!! To this day my husband still has not found a job but we are able to keep cabinets full and our kids fed thanks to you!!!! I would love to win a $50.00 gift card to Publix or to Bi-Lo. Both of these stores are great for my shopping. I could probably get $150 to $200 dollars worth of groceries with that size gift card. That would be AMAZING and a blessing!!! Thanks so much!!!

      Nikki

    • Janet

I LOVE Southern Savers!! I would love to win a 50GC to PUBLIX! I also know I can save 60-70% at Publix using your site as a guide. Most likely could get $125 in groceries with $50.00. Thanks for all you do to save my family money.

    • I like seeing what you have posted here! Thanks for the chance to win and Happy Birthday. If I were to win a $50 gc I would most likely use it at Harris Teeter during triples so I could get lots of goodies, probably $200 plus then save some money for non coupon things like organic milk that we drink!

    • Happy Birthday, Southern Savers!

If I won the $50 gift card, I’d use it at Publix and probably be able to get about $120 worth of groceries.

    • Amy

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I love your site and it has helped me in so many ways revolutionize our family budget! “Working” the grocery store game .. I weekly save between 64-84%! I love it all at Publix, Bi Lo BOGO’s and Kroger’s specials! I am up for this challenge! :)

    • Dani P.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! It is so much work to keep a blog running, and you do a wonderful job! I love checking out the Food Lion list, but $50 would go so much further at Harris Teeter. If only Food Lion would double coupons.
Thanks for saving me so much time and money!

    • Kathleen

A friend told me about your site in March – I have saved so much and gotten free stuff and been able to give away stuff – I converted my husband when I came home from CVS with 4 items for $0.19 !! And all of this at a time when we really need the extra help – we own our own business and haven’t been paid in a while. So thanks for all the late hours you keep :)

It’s a toss up between BiLo and Publix – depends on the week where I save more. But I’d have to say Publix…they consistently have better deals. And they give free cookies to my kids :) I can save 60-75% at Publix.

    • Beth W

Yeah $50 !!! That’s like 2 weeks worth of grocery shopping at publix or bi-lo. Hard to pick which store to use it at :)

    • Danna Reynolds

Happy Birthday! I love your site! I would love to have $50 to Target. I love combining the man. q’s with Target q’s to get the most savings!! Keep up the good work!

    • Lara

Happy Birthday Southern Savers… you are growing fast! I would love a $50 gift certificate to Publix. I think I could save $80-$100 with a $50 gift card. I am a young couponer, but I am learning to be a wise one… :) Thank you!

    • gloria

With $50 I know I could score atleast $150 worth of groceries! I love your site and enjoyed your program at Mt. Bethel in Marietta! You have saved me so much money each week, at a time when my budget is getting stretch to its limit! I love to see the look on the person’s face behind me in line when I get my after coupon total! I always tell them you have to go online and check out SOUTHERN SAVERS!!! My favorite feature of your coupon matchups is how you give the price/item after coupons…it really helps me pick out those great deals quickly! Thanks so much for all you do! I hope I win!

    • I would love $50 to spend at Publix. I never make a trip to Publix before checking here first. I could probably get at least $180, if not more. Thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday!

    • Lori

Count me in. Thanks for a great site!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers. I love your site… Lots of good tips and tricks. If I won the $50 Gift Card, I would spend it at the Verde BI-LO in Greenville, SC.

    • DANA

Happy Birthday! You should be very proud of your accomplishment(s) concerning this site and how you have greatly affected each of our lives in so many ways!

I love saving with your help at Publix the best! I work at Publix and tell all the KIND people about your site. Unfortunately, most people that shop at Publix are kind, so I do A LOT of talking! But you can only imagine the “frowny faces”… If only they could see and hear themselves as an instant replay on their way out. That would help a lot of folks with self improvement IMMEDIATELY!LOL I hope I win! I will buy at least 150 dollars worth of groceries and supplies with the winning 50 dollar gift card!

    • Sara

      Happy Birthday!!
I have only been using your site for a few weeks but I am AMAZED at the money I save! You save me time AND money and I am SO grateful! Sadly, my Publix doesn’t double and is VERY strict with coupons – I am jealous of all of you getting SUPER deals there. Lately I’ve been averaging about 50% in savings which I consider FANTASTIC. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

    • Lindsey

Count me in as well!! Thanks for helping so many of us save save save!! ;)

    • Amanda

I would like a gift card to Publix. I’ve shopped there a long time but in the past year I’ve learned how to shop Publix wisely! My husband is thankful!!

    • Rebekah

I would have to spend the $50 at Kroger. I, unfortunately, don’t have a Publix anywhere around and the closest Kroger around is 45 minutes away. I can do really well there with coupons so it more than makes up for the gas. I don’t know how much exactly I could get for $50, but I’d spend it wisely and save as much as possible :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! This is, by far, my favorite money-saving blog to follow!

    • Mal

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers.

For this occasion I think you should get a great gift for your hard work but instead you are offering us, that is so nice of you. You have changed my shopping habits for sure as I can try new things every time I shop for so less. My best trip was last week at Bi-lo where I got $22 worth of groceries with money back(.6¢) which is not a huge amount but I was really amazed. That was the first time in my life someone paid me for shopping. I told cashier that I don’t want money back but he was super excited to give me my money back. That was the best experience. I would love a gift card to Bi-lo which is my fav store and I am sure with your help I can get more than $150 worth of groceries.

    • Kay

Greetings Jenny & Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!

My dear friend introduced me to this site in April and we have seen such a huge difference in our spending habits, not only for groceries, but for all of our needs and, now, wants. We’ve gone from spending $1000-$1200 a month on groceries for our family of ten, to about $300-$350!

I definitely consider this site a huge blessing. I was praying for a way to cut the grocery bill and my prayers were answered in more ways than one.

Be blessed, stay encouraged, and know that your work is not in vain.

    • Hailey

Happy Birthday Jenny and Southern Savers. I would love a gift card to Publix – they are the best!!!!!!! Thanks for ALL you do!

    • My friend told me about your site and about couponing. That is also my goal…to tell all my friends about the money they could be saving, to bless others by not keeping my stockpile so big by giving it to the Battered wives shelterand homeless shelter and to anyone who God brings across our path in need. A while back I prayed that God would give us a way to give more to the needy and then this came along. I get so excited when I am able to give things to people that I know they need. Sometimes that needy person is someone very close to you in your family. What a gift! Quick story…my Father’s kidneys are failing and his kidney specialist told him to drink water and Crystal Light. He and my mom are on a very tight budget. Last week Publix had B1G1 on Crystal Light. I gathered as many CL Q’s I could and was able to buy him 10 canisters for less than $1 a piece! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My sons (6 and 12) really get into it as well. They are my blinkie pullers! We use Publix and CVS the most. Just today I got $155 for $34 so I project I could get close to $175 for $50!

Thanks again and God bless you for all the time you put into helping all of us!

      Michele
      Montgomery, AL

    • DeAnn

I am still pretty new, but am so pleased with what I have been able tio do so far. I would use the card at either Kroger or Publix and I think I could get about $125 worth of groceries.

      Congratulations on your Anniversary!

    • Brooke

Happy Birthday Southern Savers. I found this site about 6 months ago, but had no idea it was only a year old. I figured I had been missing out on great deals for years :) I would select Publix and could probably get about $125 dollars of worth of groceries!

    • Happy Birthday! I am thrilled that this site was shared with me and I am doing my part in sharing the savings with others. I would love $50 to Publix. With 5 children, stockpiling groceries is less of a reality but buying large quantities of food is. This site is helping me save 60-80% in just a few weeks! Thank you so much.

    • Alicia

LOVE THE SITE…check it out daily, most of the time even more often than that!! : )

    • Julie

I would say Publix. I could probably get $200-$300 for the $50 gift card if I shopped several weeks of BOGO deals! Thanks for all the hard work you do.

    • Happy Birthday! I found this site a few months ago and am thrilled to have one that lists Bi-Lo and Publix deals! I would actually choose Publix or Kroger and could stretch that $50 to get about $80-$100 worth of groceries. Thanks!

    • Caanan

I think I could get $150 worth of groceries or so with that $50 gift card at Bi Lo.

    • PAIGE

I would love a publix GC. I would try to streach it to about $350-$400. Happy 1st B-Day!!! You rock!

    • Kim

Hi. Happy Bday! I am still learning about all of this coupon stuff – and LOVING IT! I would spend mine at Publix. I could probably get $100 worth with $50. Maybe even better!

Thanks for all of your hard work.

      Kim Hays

    • Kristin

Happy Birthday! I am so thankful for your site and all of the saving it has helped us get! My favorite store is Publix and my best savings there has been 75% so I would try to get $200 worth of groceries with my $50!
THANK YOU for all of the work you put into this site!
      Kristin

    • Miao

Thank you for all the hard work in the past year!
      I love your blog!

    • Becca

Happy first birthday Southern Savers. I have loved finding this site and all the hard work you put into it is so great!
My favorite grocery store is Publix and I think I could save at least $150 with a $50 gift card. Thanks again for how great you are. Our grocery budget continues to be revolutionized!

    • Love the website! Thanks so much for all the great savings ideas that you share. I have always been a saver and coupon lover, but you have opened my eyes to new ways to save! I would love to use the $50 GC for Publix. I don’t go there often because the nearest on is about 35 minutes away, but if I win I want to make a special trip there to stock up on their savings. Surely I could get about $150 worth of items with $50! Happy Birthday and thanks again!

    • Janae

Congrats. My favorite is Publix. Last time I walked out of there I my total was $150 and I spent 21.50!

    • Gretchen

Love the website…still pretty new and still learning. My favorite store is Publix.
Thanks for your time and dedication

    • JoyD

      Jenny,

Happy Birthday!! I would use the gift certificate at Publix. Last week I went to Publix I spent $22 and saved $77, even the sales girl was impressed. My son will be going off to college for the first time in a few weeks and I plan to use the gift certificate to stock up his dorm room with crackers (free of course), cereal, cookies, etc. and all the toiletries he needs. Although I can’t really beat the free + toothpaste at CVS.

Thanks for all you do, your site was a life saver. I wasn’t sure how I was going to afford to put my son through college and lose my child support this year. Since I started couponing in January I have found that I can do this!

    • Jennifer Pitts

I would spend my $50 at my local Bi-Lo. I would spend it all on stuff for my dogs and cats (Dog food, litter, treats). I would be able to stock up so I would not have to worry about them.

    • Stacey

      Happy Birthday!

I’d love a gc to Publix — I could probably stretch it a long way if I save it to use on the really good sale weeks (like a few weeks ago).

    • susan

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Congratulations Jenny on such a great job! I would love a $50 gift card for Publix. I know I would be able to get great use out of it with all your coupon match ups and deals! Thanks for all your hard work.

    • Shannon

      PUBLIX OF COURSE…$150 W0RTH FOR $50–AT LEAST!!!! :) OOOO, I HOPE I WIN!!!!!!!!!

    • bethany

I would use it at Kroger and I’d save around 60%. If I had a publix nearby I could easily save 70-75% I went to my moms a few months bck and had a field day!

    • Carrie

I think I could definitely score big at Bilo this week. They have an awesome list of BIGI on this week’s ad. I usually hit Bilo, Publix and CVS on most weeks and I regularly save anywhere from 60-75% on my grocery/healthcare costs. And I tell people about your site just about every shopping trip. People will stop me in the store and ask about my huge coupon book (3″ 3-ring binder with baseball card holders), or they’ll be behind me in the check-out line. I’m happy to share the savings!

    • Happy Birthday To You! I have only recently discovered Southern Savers and count it as a true blessing! If I won the gift card I would definitely use it at Publix. I’m not sure how much I could buy with it, but I would try to make you proud! :-)

    • Mina

Wow! Look at this! No wonder your site has been bringing up blank pages this afternoon! Jenny, you have done a wonderful job of building your site in one year. Congratulations to you for a job well done! I have watched your site explode this year from a few responses per day to the huge readership that it has now.

By now, you probably know my back story. I feed 10 to 14 people every day. Twelve of those are endless young adult sized appetites because they are in their teens and early 20’s. Every couple of weeks I pack up boxes for the local food and emergency pantry and/or make baskets of food and personal supplies for people that I personally know of that can use the extra help. The number of people that I’m responsible for continues to go up, but my personal budget has been stagnant for several years.

In February, after a long hiatus, I decided to investigate getting back into major couponing. What a difference now that so much info is available online! I already knew the basics of grocery coupon shopping and legalities from my younger years, but I spent a month quietly reading and learning from your site and other excellent resources, and learned about the nitty gritty details of not just the grocery stores, but Walgreen’s, CVS, RiteAid, and the “wider world” of deals out there.

On March 15th, I jumped in with both feet, and even though I have continued to spend more than my former amount on groceries, haven’t regretted it a bit. Some of the savings that I had before couponing has simply been converted to real items that will be used. This is the first week that I MAY come in under my previous budget. (If I don’t wander into KMart) Hooray! I’ve currently been saving 75% at Bi-Lo and Publix on a regular basis.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my local Publix, Bi-Lo, and Kroger, and would do well at making a game out of any of them. Publix and Bi-Lo top my list on the stores in which I would be able to save the most in the least amount of time for buying what really use. Although I’ve been stretching $50 into around $200 value, I can beat that if I make it into a game.

Best wishes and MANY happy returns!

    • Susan

I would love a GC to Publix. I usually save between 50-60% there. So I could easily get $100 worth of stuff. Thanks for the chance to win.

    • Tina

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

Jenny, thank you for all the time and effort that you put into this website. I started couponing only 2 mths ago and not only am I able to better provide for my family, but I have been able to provide for needy families in my community that I would not have been able to otherwise. Jenny, you and this website are truly a blessing. With a $50 gift card to Publix, I could probably get $150 worth of groceries.

      Thanks again,
      Tina

    • Hannah

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! Jenny, I love this site and tell (brag to, actually) everyone I know about the savings you can find here. I would love a gift certificate to Publix. I’m certain that I could, on a good BOGO week, get at least $160 worth of groceries. I have learned so much from you and can’t thank you enough for all of your help each week.

    • Sonya

First of all, I want to say that your site is great!!! I am new to couponing (about 2 weeks now) and your site has saved me so much money!!! I am so addicted now that I have to log on to your site at least once a day :) If I won the $50 card, I would spend it at Publix, definitely! I never realized the bargains you could get there until I found your site! I would hope with the $50 card, I could at least get $100 worth of groceries, maybe even $120!!!

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! I hope I win :)

    • Sheila

I would love to have the chance for a $50 gift card to Publix! I have been enjoying this website for 3 months now. Using this site and couponing have been a life saver. Before I was spending at least $150 on groceries per week and Publix and Walmart combined. I have given up those horrible Walmart experiences. I am now walking out of Publix with a bill less than $50. Wednesdays are the higlight of my week. I can begin my shopping list and coupon matches for my Sunday trip to Publix. (I have to go on Sunday to get my mystery penny item.) Thanks for all you do Jenny. You’ve made what used to be a chore a great experience.

    • Alison

I am no Pro-Couponer YET! LOL I am still new to this. I love couponing and I always save the most at Publix. My goal is to only pay 30-35% of the total. Most weeks it works!!!

    • Robyn

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Thanks Jenny for all of your hard work. I’m addicted to your site and check it out everyday! It has helped me save at least 60% on my grocery bill every week at Publix. I really appreciate your hard work and devotion.

    • Shana

      Happy Birthday!!

Just joined the site this morning & I love it. It is funny that you are talking about this. I just went to Bi-Lo w/a $50 bill. Because of the BOGO this week and the abundance of coupons I have $42.37 left. The originial cost was $64.01. I love shopping and seeing how much I can save! I know that this $50 will stretch.

      Thanks for offer..

    • Dixie

Thank you so much for this site, and congratulations on one year! I’m sure (I hope) you know how much you are helping all of us. This is really the one place I look before my shopping excursions. Publix is also my favorite store, and as we all know, we can get quite a bit there for $50!! :)

    • jessica

      Hey Jenny and her crew:)
I stubbled upon this site in jan when things were super tight (lost job) but because of your tips and clues we since have paid off debt (with left over money from food shopping). I try and keep track of my savings but i think the best one i have is

      total before coupons=110.83
      what i paid=38.23
      TOTAL SAVINGS=72.60

So i think i could do wonders with a 50.00 card to publix (THE BEST STORE EVER)!!!
Plus i love spendin people over here to check out the site, i have a coupon club that soley checks out you! you are a God sent! wonderful job and happy 1 year!!

    • Erin

I have only been couponing for about four months now and without all your hard work you put into this site, I would be lost. I am a single mother of two young children and thanks to you, we are able to go on a summer vacation this year since I have saved so much! I do best at Harris Teeter and Bi-Lo, and I know I could get around $100 – $125 with a $50 gift card. Thanks again for all your hard work.

    • Carissa

I have been couponing since March of this year. And in just these last 3 months, I’ve been able to save so much! Such a blessing to my family, and to others as I am able to share all I’ve learned. Here are my savings:
Date Total Value Total Spent Total Saved Percentage
      March $574.83 $267.45 $307.38 54.3%
      April $968.80 $304.34 $664.46 61.9%
      May $1,707.55 $465.74 $1,241.81 71.6%
      June $743.79 $174.74 $569.05 79.2%
      Totals $3,994.97 $1,212.27 $2,782.70 68.6%

Each month my percentage increases! I LOVE PUBLIX!
I pretty much shop exclusively at Publix with the rare trip to Kroger and CVS.
      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!

    • Love your site! Thanks. I am a HT girl!

    • Carissa

Sorry. The table didn’t turn out right.
My totals are that I saved $2,782.70 since March! I can usually save about 70% or 80%-90% on a good day!

    • Jaci

I am a huge Harris Teeter fan and, since finding Southern Savers, I have saved hundreds of dollars on my monthly grocery bill there. Count me in this great giveaway!!!

    • I am gonna say publix and I am averaging getting my groceries for a third of the price so I am gonna say $144! H

    • Laurie C

Happy Birthday!!! I would love to get a GC to Publix. I usually save about 65%, so I think with $50, I could get about $145 in groceries. I haven’t finished my 6 week first time stock-up, so given some more time, I could probably get even more.

    • Happy B’Day!!!

I would love to get a giftcard for $50 to Publix. I have been using coupons from the Sunday paper for years and just started using websites. It is a big help on my grocery bill. I would like to try to get $100 of groceries for $50.

    • Hallie

Happy Birthday!!! Can’t wait to see where you’ll be in another year and how many more people you will have blessed by that time. I had no idea you were so young!

I would use the $50 towards groceries/diapers and would likely be able to stretch it to $125. Tyr me. :-)

    • Milly

Congratulations! I love this site! I would love a gift card to Publix!

    • Kim

Yay! I would use the $50 at my favorite store, Publix, and, since I usually save 50%, I bet I could get $100 worth of groceries.

    • Kathi

I love this site! I think I could get between 100- 150 for $50 on a slow week. I usually save 50 to 75%. This site will change your life.

    • Jerri

      Happy Anniversary Jenny
You have done a wonderful job, I appreciate your hard work and help you have giving us. I know with the little time I have with 3 kids under the age of 4 I couldn’t do it. Thank you Again and Happy Birthday.
And if I win I love to shop @ Publix and to think that I hated grocery shopping so I will always send my husband but now that I’m a coupon addicted I enjoy it.

    • Melora

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers.

I have been following this site since March. I went to a couponing seminar and was introduced to the genius of Jenny. Thank you thank you thank you. I have been tracking my savings since then. My grand total of savings so far is $2,995.24. My total out of pocket is $968.68. My total percentage savings is 68.99%. I went to BiLo today. I spent $41.45 and saved $92.08. That is about 69% savings. I love couponing. I do not think I can ever go back to shopping without coupons. My trunk was full of great groceries that I can use to feed my family. What a blessing. Based on what I did today, I could probably get over $150 worth of groceries for $50 at Bilo. Count me in on the giveaway.

      Thanks bunches Jenny.

      Melora Moore, Chattanooga, TN

    • Misty

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Because of you my single income household of 3 has been able to stock up on a years worth of household items and non-perishable goods! It’s amazing what you do for people!
I would love to win the gift card. If I had to choose one store i would pick Harris Teeter because of their triple coupon days. i have friends at 2 of the locations already so they let me know when the trucks come in. i have been able to spend $40 and come home with over $400 worth of items so i know $50 would not only fill our home with baby food and diapers, but many other things as well.
      Thanks Jenny!

    • What a fun giveaway!

I would use that $50 at Bi-Lo. I think I could get anywhere from $100-$200 worth of groceries for $50 with the right sales and coupons.

I love your site, Jenny and can’t wait for Wednesdays to see the next Bi-Lo ad up with coupon match-ups! Thanks for all you do!

    • Christie

      This site is absolutely fabulous!
I sure could use that $50 gift card. Since learning the wise SouthernSaver ways, I’m confident that I can turn that $50 into $120 worth of groceries that my family loves!
Thanks for all you do, Jenny, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    • Thank you, Southern Savers!! I have only been couponing for a couple of months and have saved hundreds. I am a newly single mom and this has been a miracle in my life. Thank you for your sacrifice of time to help the rest of us. I would use my $50 at Publix and could easily get $150-$200 in groceries there!!!

    • Meredith

I would love to spend $50 at Publix of course. I am not sure how much I have saved but I know that I have cut our grocery spending in half! Thanks!

    • Michelle

I would love to see how much I could get with $50 at Publix. My daughter and I try to get as much stuff as we can for $15 for the local food pantry every week and I am sure I could really help stock there shelves with $50. I usually save 65-75% when I shop there. Thanks for all you do. It really has helped our family save and has allowed us to help others and still spend less money than we were before we started using your site.

    • Katherine

I would love to win the $50 Publix gift card!!! I have been a sporatic coupon shopper for years!!! With southern savers, it is now an obsession! I could probably get $200 in groceries with the gift card as I regularly save 75-80% every week!! I share this website with all of my friends and co-workers! We have a competition to see how much we can save each week! Happy 1 year anniversary Southern Savers!!!

    • Alison V.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU ARE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO! YOU ARE LIKE PART OF OUR FAMILY NOW! THANKS FOR SAVING US SO MUCH MONEY!

anyway, i would definitely shop at publix. i could easily buy $100+ worth of groceries with the $50 gift!

    • Kareen

      HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
YOU ARE TRULY A BLESSING JENNY…I am sure that you hear that all the time but God had a plan to use you to bless all the other ‘southern savers’ that use your site! We found you in atime when we really needed this and I have shared this blessing with many others!

WOW..what would I do with a 50.00 gift card to PUBLIX? I am sure that on a good week of sales..I could easily get close to about 180.00-200.00 dollars worth of groceries!!!
When I do, I would be happy to send in pics!!!
Thanks again for all your time and hard work,
      Be blessed!

    • ElizabethM

I could get so many diapers! I read your blog every time I plan an outing so I can make sure I get the best deals!

    • Stephanie

Since I started tracking my coupon savings this year, I’ve saved over $1,500! And I am still learning! My best trip was to Kroger…OOP was 135 and I paid 30! I would use a gift card at Kroger and stock up on the sale items!

    • Jenny

Thanks for all you do! I have only been using your site for a couple of months, but I have cut my grocery bill in half! I shop at Kroger and Publix, and would love to find out how far I could stretch that $50.
      Thanks again!

    • Jocy

I would love to spend the 50 dollars at Publix and get around 100 dollars worth of groceries. Thank you for your site!

    • Leah

Now this sounds like fun! I think I could get the most stuff for my money at Walgreens, I feel pretty confident that I could get $300 or more at there. Thanks for all you do!

    • Merrilee

      Happy Birthday! Congrats!
If I win I would use it at Kroger, and I could probably get around $120 worth of groceries for $50. Thanks for the opportunity & for your hard work!

    • Hey….I would definitely shop at Bi-Lo. I’m an employee and I basically live there. The milk’s always fresh and my 2-year-old lives by it. I know I’d get double the amount worth compared to other grocery stores. Thanks and hope to be one of the lucky winners!

    • Happy Birthday! I would definitely pick Publix. I usually save on average 45-70% at that store thanks to you (and that includes fruit and dairy items that I can’t buy ahead). I would love to see how hard I could work to stretch $50 out. Thanks!

    • Hello! I wish I had BiLo and Publix in my area, but I do have a Kroger so I’d choose it for the GC. I am still pretty new at couponing, but I have learned SO much from you! Thank you for teaching us! (I’m a little nervous about entering this giveaway!) I bet I could get about $100 or more for the $50.

    • Congrats!

I would love to win a Publix card! The possibilities are almost endless.

    • Leah

Happy birthday Southern Savers!!!! I love this site & all the money you save me Jenny!

If I were to win I would love a Publix gift card. With the help of southern savers I typically save 60% on my publix bills so I’m guessing I could get over $100 worth of groceries for that $50!!

    • HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!!! THANK YOU JENNY FOR ALL YOU DO IN HELPING ALL OF US TO SAVE A GREAT AMOUNT OF MONEY. PUBLIX IS WHERE I LOVE TO SHOP. I COULD BUY ABOUT $180 WORTH OF GROCERIES FOR $50.

    • Heather

Congratulations! I love Publix – my goal used to be save twice as much as I spend, but recently I’ve gotten better at it and now my goal is to save four times as much as I spend. (The best I’ve ever done is saving eight times as much as I spent!!) So with $50 I think I could get $200 worth of groceries!!!!

    • John

Happy B’Day!! I would love a $50 Publix gift card, and I know I could get over $125 worth of groceries. Thanks!

    • Happy B Day!!!!!!

      I would love a Publix Card! I think I could save $112.50!!!!!!

    • Jana

Happy Birthday and God bless you! If I can use the $50 over the course of more than one week, then I’d like to shop at CVS. If I need to use it all in one week, then I’ll try Harris Teeter (even though I’ll have to drive to another town to find one!) I’d like to try to get $120 – 150 with the $50 at either of those stores.

    • I’m a Publix girl! I’m not as good at saving as others here, as I buy mostly produce for my vegan family, but I would still try to eek out $100 worth of goods with the gift card!

    • Julie

Happy birthday Southern Savers! I love your website and just recently bumped it up to the top of the sites that I have bookmarked. Your information is so helpful and I especially love your deal ideas. When printing them out, I don’t use a lot of ink and it fits in my little plastic sleeve with my coupons.

I would love to win the $50.00 to shop at Meijers. If it has to be one of the stores you cover, then I would choose CVS.

      Keep up the great work!!!

    • Stacey

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I have been a regular here for about 6 months. With your help, I have saved over $5000 in 5 months and was finally able to take my family of 5 to Disney World. $50 Riteaid would buy about $200 worth. Thanks again for all you do!

    • Kris

Happy Birthday! Thanks for a great site. I’m sure I could get at least $150 out of a $50 Publix gift card – and I’d love the chance to try!!

    • Christina

I’m still learning all the tips, but I know I could get over $100 at Publix (my favorite grocery store)! I continue to push myself to do better each trip, and the $50 would be a big help and an even bigger push! Thank Jenny for the opportunity and your site.

    • Michael Odell

      Far! Far! Away!

I am living in Chicago area and I love the website. Thank you for all the diligent work in providing the Deal Ideas! Even though I don’t have a publix near by (I’m jealous), I still use this site for CVS and Walgreens. It has inspired me to look for deals in the local area, and I have found many. Like just the other day, using the Mars Candy BOGO I got 6 packs of M&M’s for 7 cents each, cool. Here’s a great question to answer! What do you do with all the free stuff? It is piling up in my closets. Also, can the Gluclometers be donated to somebody? If you choose me put me down for Walgreens. Thanks again and Happy B-Day!

    • Melanie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I have been following you since February and I have saved so much money! You are such a blessing to my household! I would love a gift card to Publix. I think I could do $150!

    • Jenny (also)

It would be a hard choice between Publix and Bi-lo for me. The Bi-lo is just up the road for me, but the Publix is 45 minutes away. The few times I have made the trek to Pulix I saved close to 75%. I routinely save at least 60% at Bi-lo, and that includes the items I have to buy each week that weren’t on sale or I didn’t have coupons for. I’m sure if I was just buying things that were on sale I could get at least $200 of groceries for $50. Thanks for the opportunity and all that you do!

    • TinaP

Happy Birthday! You are the first site that I check everyday for your tips. I would love to win the gift card. I would use it here in Tampa at our Publix. I know that $50.00 would go a long way along with my coupons. It will be fun to see how far can I can go!

    • Michelle

I would love to have $50 to be used at Publix. I never shopped at Publix before February of this year because I thought it was too expensive. Then I discovered Southern Savers and started couponing. Publix has become my favorite store! I could make $50 at Publix stretch to about $150 to $200 worth of groceries, based upon my history there since February.

Thanks so much, Jenny! I love Southern Savers!

    • Stacy

If I am lucky enough to win, I would like $50 to Publix. I never really shopped at Publix until I discovered your website about 3 months ago. Now, it is my favorite grocery store and I rarely go to Kroger anymore. You make getting the deals so easy!! Thank you so much for all your hard work. I think I could easily get $150+ worth of stuff for $50.

    • Juliett

I would love to spend the money at Publix as well!! I think I could get at least $125.00 worth of groceries and supplies. I love to cruise the 50% off table and add a Q on top of that!! Thank you for all you do for all of us SAH moms just trying to make the best out of our country’s current circumstances for our kids’ future…you are a true blessing to our family! BTW~Does Facebook count as a 2nd entry??
      Thanks!

    • Lisa Neicen

      Jenny,

The work that you have put into this site, your workshops and reaching out to so many people and changing their lives one budget at a time is truly an inspiration to us all. It is a selfless act that you probably don’t have a firm understanding of just how much or how many you have truly helped! I personally wanted to say Thank You. You are a true inspiration!

PUBLIX is my store of choice!

I was never a couponer. I always felt that clipping coupons was just not worth my time. I mean, 75 cents here, a dollar there? It was hard to believe that miniscule amounts of change could ever add up to anything substantial.

      Boy was I wrong.

The “art” of couponing – combining coupons with periodic sales and planning meals around sales – has opened up a whole new world of savings for me and my family. In February, we welcomed our second daughter. My husband is self employeed. Couponing is no longer optional – it’s just smart. We owe it to ourselves and our families to seek out the best deals, thereby leaving more money for the “other stuffs” that seem to endlessly emerge.

My favorite SS store is Publix. I’m still a novice, but I believe that with $50 I could clear a good $160 in groceries for my young family of four. Bring on the challenge!!!

    • Alisa

I stumbled across this site at the beginning of the year. At the time, I had no idea about the money saving journey I was about to embark upon. I would like to wish Southern Savers a very Happy Birthday…and many more! A $50 grocery giftcard would make a very Happy Birthday for me!

    • Elizabeth

I love Publix. I think I could stretch $50 to get $150 worth of groceries.

    • Katie

I would love, love, love a Publix gift card. On a good day, I probably get $150 worth of stuff!

    • Shirley (NC)

I absolutely love your site. My co-workers tell me I am addicted to couponing! What’s even funnier is that I have contributed to the delinquency of another by introducing her to your site as well. My family went on vacation last week to PA and I had to take my coupons with me. I looked for coupons to all the attractions we planned on visiting & found them!! When I returned to work on Tuesday, one of the first things I was asked was “Did you use any coupons while you were gone?” My answer was “Of course I did!” I rarely buy anything without one. I’ll have to admit, I started going through “withdrawal” & had to log in 1 time to “Southern Savers” before we came home. I would love a gift card for Harris Teeter. I have saved so much doing their triples with your guides. My family can’t believe how full our freezer and pantry are since I started following your deals. Thanks so much for all your hard work. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Southern Savers!!!!

    • Stacy

I think I could get close to $200 worth of groceries and supplies from the $50 gift card to Publix (with the help of Southern Savers)!

    • Just want to say Happy Birthday!!! Thanks for all you do Jenny! It’s truly a blessing to our family (and our WALLET!!)!

    • Angie

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!! I first visited your site about 8 months ago and was sorry that I had not discovered it much earlier! I had no idea the site was less than a year old!! You do an awesome job! Thank you for all you do!

If I am fortunate enough to be chosen as a winner, I would love to have a Publix gift card. I think I could probably purchase approximately $150 worth of groceries with a $50 gift card, maybe more if the sale was really good!!! I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed! :-)

    • Bethany M

Wow, I had no idea that it had only been one year. You are so knowledgable and everyone seems like and ol’ pro. I would love $50 to Publix. I think I would be able to get at least $125 – $150 worth of groceries. Wow what a great comtest. Happy Birthday to Southern Savers and thank you to Jenny and everyone who contributes.

    • Beth

I have been using this site for 3 months now and have saved TONS of money! This morning I saved 70 percent in our grocery shopping for the week. BILO is the closest to us and my favorite! Happy Birthday to Southern Savers and thanks for all your hardwork that you do to help us save, Jenny!

    • Heather

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! I am new to the site (only a follower for three weeks) but I’m trying to catch on fast. Thank you for all that you do to help us save money.

I would love to spend $50 at Bi-Lo. I have a family of five and I am trying to keep our weekly grocery budget to $35. Last week was my first coupon ready trip to Bi-Lo and I saved almost 60% with only $32 oop. I know I could do better especially on one of their BOGO sale.

Again thanks for helping all of us save money!!!

    • Pat

I sure do wish we had Publix stores in Richmond (VA).

Again, Jenny, thanks for all you do. This site is AMAZING!

    • I adore Publix and would love to see how far I can go with $50 there! If I had to guess I could definitely get $150… maybe even $200 if I tried *real hard*. :)

    • Melissa

I do not go to the grocery store without checking the website. You site has lowered our food cost and still been able to keeop buying national brands. My 18 month old is very picky. I was part of a lay off in Jan and still have not found a job. I like Harris Teeter.

    • Kim

Okay, now this is the SECOND time I have left a comment! But it deserves one…..Happy Birthday!!! I am currently at a conference, but I HAD to check in with SOUTHERN SAVERS. The funny thing is my husband made sure I brought my laptop so I could. Funny, huh? If I were to when the store I would use the winnings on is Krogers. I seem to get my best buys there.
Whether I win or not…..Thanks Again for you hard work!!

    • Melanie

I’ve only been couponing a couple months, but your site is by far the most helpful one I’ve found! Thanks so much! As for saving $, I think I usually get the best deals at Bi-Lo. I have no idea how much I could purchase with $50…but probably $150-200 dollars worth of products.

    • Lisa Dales

      Happy Birthday!!!
I would love a to go shopping to Bilo or Harris Teeter. My favorite store is CVS but I never would spend that much money there. With all the extra care buck. Thank you for all you do.
      Lisa

    • Melanie

I just posted about saving at Bi-Lo…but I forgot about Harris Teeter’s triple coupon days. I definitely save the most then…so maybe Harris Teeter would be a better choice! :)

    • Alyssa

Happy birthday, Southern Savers and Congrats to you, Jenny!
I easily save hundreds each month and am thankful for your helpful lists and tips. I would love to see how much I could get for $50 at Publix! Fun challenge! Thanks again for all you do!

    • nancy

I really do love your site Happy Birthday.

    • meredith

Ha! I love a game! I would definitely go to Publix, because not only do they have the best deals, but they are the nicest to me, too. (That means a lot!). Yes, I am reformed- I now rely on Publix. I would accept this $50 as an extra challenge and try to get at least $201 in groceries out of that $50.
      Hey,The Price Is Right!

    • I have really enjoyed Southern Savers, especially with our current economy, it really helps to use this wonderful website.
I really love Publix and Kroger and would love the opportunity to save at least 80% at both of these grocery stores.
      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!

    • Susan

Happy Birthday and thanks for all you do! A friend told me about your site a few months ago and it has been such a blessing. I was already a couponer, but the lists and tips on your site have helped me save even more money. My husband is unemployed right now and I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 and every bit we can save really helps. My favorite store is Publix and I’m sure I could save at least 60-70%

    • Amanda

Jenny — you are awesome at what you do! Thank you for compiling all of the deals each week. It sure helps me save tons each week. I now shoot for no less than 50% savings each week just from using your site. My favorite Southern Savers store is Kroger….Bi-Lo runs a close second! :-)

    • Beth

Ok, so I made 2 trips to Bi-Lo today…trying to spend $50. My first trip the total before sales and coupons was $199.32, after sales and coupons……$5.14!!!! Second trip…. before sales and coupons…$$173.99….after sales and coupons…..$30.77. So, with both trips combined I got $373.31 and total OOP $35.91. So I am sure I can get to $450 with a $50 gift card!!
Here is a link to a photo of my treasures!!! Hope it works!

    • Congrats on your 1st birthday! My favorite store to shop now is Publix. Before coupons, I thought they were just too high priced! But now I regularly leave saving over 50%. I honestly could not be saving on groceries like I am if you had not had such great advice on this website. Thank you!

    • Teia

      Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!!!

      Thanks so much for everything.

    • Sonder

I’m so happy for you Jenny, I just wished I had found you a year ago. I can’t thank you enough for all you do. You are my super hero. I have no clue as to how you accomplish all you do. Many Thanks

    • ASHLEY

Happy Birthday Southern Savers. I only wish I knew about this site at its inception. My family started using your services mid March and at the same time refied the house and pulled kids out of daycare. I could not have found out about this site at a better time. I now am able to save 60-70 percent every month. I am truly addicted to couponing b/c of this site. Thanks! With a $50 publix gift card I could easily get $150 worth of groceries. Woo hoo! Im excited thinking about it.

    • Cyndy

I too love the site. I have only been using coupons for about a month but it has been great. I can’t wait to check the site everyday to see what is going on! Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into this project. Now when I look in my pantry I feel a sense of accomplishment…..I can provide for my family. We may need to eat cereal for dinner but we have lots of it!! LOL

    • Lisa

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! This website is a life saver!! Thank you so much for all that you do! I am sending everyone here. I would love to have a Publix gift card! I never shopped at Publix before because I could not afford it. Now it is the only place I shop! I have saved so much money in the last few months! I could probably get $200 worth of groceries with that $50! And I sure could use it with my boys (ages 13 and 9) home for the summer. Thank you again! We all owe you so much!

    • Sharon

oh HOW I LOVE THIS SITE!! I use to spend so much time tryin to match all my coupons up for the things I needed. Now I just copy and paste to make my shopping list and have stocke piled so much.
Before Southern Savers I was a avid Walmart shopper, my monthly trip to Walmart was 300+ now I’m 35-40 week at PUBLIX’s!! thanks for a great site and HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    • Sandra E

Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu…..and to all of us! We are all so glad that Southern Savers was born! I have been logging on every day for about 3 months and have SAVED so much! I don’t mind going to the store so much now that I know I can buy so much more with the little bit of money I will spend. Thanks for all the work you all do to save us all and help us all enjoy many more birthdays for lots less! :)

    • Kate

Publix. I could get about $150 worth of groceries with that $50. Oh how I wish I lived in the land of doubles…..

    • Happy Birthday! I would use the card at Kroger. I could probably get $100 worth of groceries for $50.

    • MaddiesMom

Happy birthday Southern Savers!! This is a great site and has taught me how to use coupons the right way! I would either use a $50 gift card at Harris Teeter or Food Lion… HT if trip coupons. I have saved a bunch of money since starting this about 2 months ago, but being so short on money to begin with, I can’t get all the great deals yall talk about. A $50 gc would be a blessing!
Great people, great site. Great to finally learn to save.

    • Mary

I always get in on the bottom of the list LOL and I check your blog every day!! I must have missed it today…

Happy B-day… I could probably spend at least 125.00 before q’s with the gift card. And I would do it WHERE SHOPPING IS A PLEASURE….

    • Lisa

      Jenny,
Happy Birthday to Southern Savers!. I started using Southern Savers December 2008 when my son went off to college. This site has been a blessing to me and my family. It has provided me the ability to buy food for my son “almost free”. The money we have saved has been awesome. I shop at Publix and Kroger. Between the two, I get freebies every week. My last shopping trip to Publix total $52.00 and i paid $2.37. If I won the $50, I could probably purchased $500 worth of groceries with the $50. I especially love the coupon clippers web site for stock piling when I shop at Publlix. I am addicted to saving money. I go to Southern savers twice a day. I feel guilty sometimes with the amount of money I have saved with Southern Savers. Me and my co-workers have formed a coupon club at work and we share the specials of the week with each other. My husband has put in a fourth shelf down in basement. My kids tease me about going grocery shopping in the basement. Thank you for Southern Savers. I have people in the grocery store who have stopped me after I have paid for my groceries asking me to show them how to save money. I tell them about Southern Savers.

    • Kim

      Happy Birthday, Southern Savers!

You share a birthday with my youngest daughter. Instead of doing a traditional birthday cake, I made cupcakes with that stash of cake mix. I let the kids each decorate their own. We grilled chicken I bought last week at Kroger for $1.99/lb (-$1 off coupon) and hot dogs with kechup that were both BOGO from Publix.

I love your site. I was introduced to it in December by my mother-in-law and have been hooked ever since. We have a standing date every Saturday evening at CVS.

I would definately go to Publix but it would take me a couple trips to use $50. I haven’t been able to spend that much on my weekly shopping since I started using your site. My grocery bill before couponing was easily close to or over $200/week. Last MONTH it wasn’t even $150.

Thank you for all you do!

    • Fern

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!!
In the 4 months since I started couponing I consistently save 50% or more every time I shop.
I could definitely use the $50 at Publix and can purchase over $100 in groceries our family needs.
      Thanks
      Fern

    • Lisa

Love, love, love this website!! Thanks so much for everything that you do!! My favorite store and the best deals I normally get are at Publix. I think I could definitely get between $100 and $150 worth of groceries from Publix. Thanks again and Happy Birthday!!

    • Tanya Franco

Because of your hardwork, I now do a happy dance while going over my grocery reciepts instead of groaning! I have FOUR BOYS and they love helping mom open the groceries bags to see what goodies we get each week! I would love to get a $50 GC to Publix. I could stretch that into $100 easily! Thanks for all that you do!

    • Christie

Congrats to you!!! I would have assumed you have been around much longer than 1 year with all of the info you provide.

I found your site 2 months ago when my husband got laid off and I needed to find a way to spend as little money as possible. From your site, I have learned how to get so much for next to nothing. Since I live in Phoenix, AZ, I can only get help with my CVS, Wags and Frys (Kroger) deals but I have been able to save soooo much. My average savings are 81% for CVS, 69% for Walgreens and 53% for Fry’s, so THANK YOU.

If I were to win, I would not be picky as to the store. CVS, Wags and Kroger are all great with me. As you can see with my savings, I hope to be able to turn that into $100 or much more. Thanks!

    • What a fantastic giveaway. My husband and I would love to win this to spend at Publix, our new favorite store. We would spend it on salad fixins and snacks for his new healthy diet! I bet I would get extra kisses if I won!

    • This is a fun idea and congrats! I know its a lot of work to run this site as I’m experiencing it with mine. Of course I would use the $50 at Publix and I could get about $150 in groceries with that!

    • Posted this on my blog too!

    • Happy Birthday, Southern Savers! I love your blog! I tell people about it all the time and link to it often on my blog. :-) I’d love to win a Publix gift card. I would expect to get at least $100 worth of groceries with it. :-) Thanks for the contest!

    • Mandi

Southern Savers makes it possible for me to stay home with my son. That is priceless to me :) My store would be Publix & I think I could get $200 worth of groceries. Thanks for all you do!

    • Janice

Just went to your coupon workshop last week in Florence. I have never used coupons before so it’s all new to me, but already this week I’ve made 2 trips – one to Bi-Lo where I spent $35 for $74 worth of stuff and one to CVS where I spent $50 but got $21 ECB dollars back! I’m up for a challenge. If I win the $50, I think I could get $120 worth of groceries at Bi-Lo.

    • Charlene

I know I can get $130 worth at Publix using $50!

    • Wendy

Kroger is my favorite. I think I could squeeze $150-$200 out of $50. Love the website. Happy Birthday!

    • Elon

Publix is my favorite. I think I could get $125 out of $50.

    • Amy R

Jenny- many, many thanks for all you do!!! Your site has kicked my previously casual couponing into high gear. I have saved SOOOO much money for my family using your site and the resources you link to. I cannot remember how I did this before I had your site. I look at it just about every day. I would definitely use my $50 at Publix. I think I could get between $175 to $200 over a few trips!!!

    • Happy Birthday To You !
      Happy Birthday To You !!
      Happy Birthday ,Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday To You Southern Savers!!

You do a wonderful job !!!You have saved me SOOOO much!!!

I have learned so much and hope to see you for along time to come!!!
      Let’s Go shopping!!!

    • Kacey

I love your site Jenny. I have saved so much since couponing a couple months ago. Please add me to your list. I would love a GC to City Market (Kroger for us), Safeway, or Albertsons. Twice I’ve saved 99% at Safeway, but those were amazing weeks. I think I could get about $220 worth of grocery’s for $50 in a couple trips.

      Thank you so much!!

      Kacey

    • Marcella

Happy Birthday!! This site has been such a blessing!

I would love a gift card to Harris Teeter.

      Thanks so much!!

      Marcella

    • Lillie

Birthday Cake, Birthday Cake! Mighty B would be proud of my singing! I have never been more excited about couponing until I visited your site; it is incredible! In a time like this, everyone should be couponing and using your guidance! I would like the $50 for BiLo. With my coupons, their double value and mad sales and an additional 20% savings coupon on top of all that…I can ssttreeeettttchhhhh the $50 to $150. Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Melissa

Southern Savers is a blessing. I hardly ever visit AFC website anymore because SS is really all you need to get geared up for shopping. I would love to be added to the list and would pick Bi-Lo for the $50 giftcard. When I spend $50 OOP, my total prior to coupons is usually around $230-$250. Depending on the sales and the coupons out for that week, sometimes even better savings. Thanks for everything you do Jenny. (By the way, how do you do it all?) :) :)

    • I would probably like the gift card for Krogers. I could get at least $100 worth, but I want to learn how to get even more. Thanks!

    • Jennifer

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I discovered your websight through a friend a couple of months ago. It has been such a blessing in a much needed time. My husband was laid off from his job last October and is still out of work. I come out of Publix usually saving around 70% and completely thrilled that our needs have been met for the week. I would love to have a Publix $50 gift card and I am sure I could get $150 or more worth of groceries with it. Thank you for being such a blessing!

    • Whitney Anderson

Love, Love, Love Southernsavers!!! I am so excited and appreciative of all your hard work!! I would want my gift card to be from Food Lion. I could do between $100 and $120!!!!

    • Lynn

Happy Birthday and thanks for all you do with this website. My last trip to Publix was $350 for only $135! My husband and my kids tease me all the time about “the addiction” I have to couponing now. I would absolutely love a gift card to Publix. Thanks again!

    • Lauri

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers! I would love to have $50 to spend at Publix. I usually save about 70%. I would hope I could get about $150 worth of groceries with $50, possibly even more! :-)

Thanks so much for a wonderful resource!

    • Holly

Happy Birthday! Love all that you do to help us save. Food Lion is where I would shop. I believe I could get about $150.00 worth of stuff or maybe more if the sales were good that week. Thank you!

    • obxgizzie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!!! Your site has helped me a lot as I just started the coupon joy about 6 months ago. I have learned a lot
and shop with a lot more knowledge and confidence about how to play the game. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! I love the ease of this site.
Happy B’Day, wishing this site a long and Happy life!!!!

    • Jenny Kelvington

Just found your site a couple of weeks ago and love it. Thanks for helping me save lots of $. Happy 1st Birthday. I hoping you are here for many years to come.

    • Cindy Yinger

Jenny: Your website is the only one I visit everyday. You’ve done a GREAT job and I know I really appeciate all your work. I also recommend it to everyone I meet that are into coupons and deals.
I would pick Publix & Bilo and with the $50 I could probably get about $100 worth of items. Thanks again for such a wonderful site and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    • Dianne

Happy Birthday and Many More! I can’t tell you how much this site has saved me, but it is substantial. I just visited my kids & grandkids and took a HUGE plastic bin of essentials that I got for free or nearly free with help from this site. They were thrilled to receive all the goodies and I was thrilled to do it for them. I check every single day for updates and even read comments for more tips and insight. My store of choice is Publix, where I get great service and awesome deals.

    • shana

Happy 1st Birthday. I would love a publix giftcard….no idea how much I could get, but definitely more than I used to.

    • Kristi

Happy Birthday! I didn’t realize Southern Savers had only been around for 1 year. Until I found you I spent hours searching for the best deals and coupon match-ups. You not only save me money but precious time with my family. I would love a $50 GC to Publix. I also love a challenge, so I would enjoy stretching that $50 for miles. On average I save 50-80% weekly but with a challenge behind it there’s no telling.

    • Sarah

Happy Birthday, Southern Savers! Isn’t it interesting that so many people have chosen Publix? It would definitely be my choice, too. I always do better there than anywhere else – usually 60-70%, so I’d hope to make that $50 gift card do some serious work! Most of my friends don’t believe that Publix is the cheapest store around, but I have certainly found it to be true.

Thank you for all of your hard work, Jenny! You make my shopping trips eaiser and more profitable! :)

    • kelly y

Wow! $50.00 CG to either Publix or BiLo would go very far with my family!!! I have a family of 4 (me, my husband, and two very hungry teenage boys!) SS has really helped me save on my groceries. Before I started couponing I was 100% faithful to Aldi. Now, it is Publix and BiLo all the way. I spend just about the same amount each week and get 3x’s as much. I am saving about 60-70% each week on my groceries.

      Thanks SS!!! YOU ROCK!!!

    • Tawanda

Happy! Happy! Happy! Birthday toy you, Birthday to you! Jenny, I’d be delighted if I won a $50 giftcard to shop at the grocery store of my choice. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to Kroger or Publix, but FORTUNATELY, I will be visiting my mother and sister in ATL, and they do! I forward tidbits of your site to my mother daily. My plan-well, my sister just purchased a house and I would love to REALLY to show her how financially savvy she can become with when armed with coupons paired with information from your site. I shop at CVS, Walgreens and Winn Dixie, and on a recent shopping trip to Winn Dixie, I saved 65%, spending $25.21 for 26 items and earned 2 movie tickets worth $24 AND will receive a free B&D handheld vacuum.

    • Jessica

My family has been so blessed by the ideas and information you share on Southern Savers. And I am so grateful to the friend who shared it with me. My husband works 2 jobs so I can stay home with our children and my new job has become saving as much as I can on groceries and household items, so that the money he makes can stretch so much further for us and he can get a break once in a while. I know that I could use the $50 GC to get $120-$150 depending on the week. I have had a lot of fun seeing what I can save and helping my friends learn how to save for their families as well. Thanks for being a blessing to us all!!!

    • Tara M.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers. Thanks for all the hard work. I just found your site a little over a month ago, but it quickly replaced my old couponing site as my favorite. It is so easy to read and the info I’m looking for is so easy to find. I would love to win the $50 to Food Lion. It is really the only grocery store we have(there is a small local store but the prices are SOOOO high). We live in a very rural area (i have to drive over an hour to the nearest Wal-Mart (if that tells you anything). CVS and Rite Aid are here to, but I usually make a profit at those, thanks to you Jenny. But, with only one grocery store, feeding a family of six on a budget can be hard. Please pick us…I know my savings skills would enjoy the workout. I’ve only spent about $25 this month(so far) on groceries so I think $50 could last us about a month or so.

      Thanks again.

    • Jessica

Oh I forgot… Publix is my store of choice.

    • Jamey

I have been using Jenny’s tips for about 3 months now and I feel like I rob CVS once or twice a week, and I would love to have $50 to Bi-Lo to have some fun…I usually save about 50-60% off my bill at Bi-Lo when I use my coupons matching sales…so if I tried really hard I bet I could get at least $125 worth of products for the $50. We’ll see…

    • Vivian

Happy Birthdy Southern Savers and many more. I use to go to a couple of websites to find the best deals. Now needless to say Southern Savers is the only one I have to go to find all my deals. I would use the $50 on my weekly grocery deals I find from Southern Savers website. You have helped me stock pile for hard times. And needless to say I got laid off and it has paid off. Thank you very much. I tell everyone one about this website. I have saved a lot of money by you sharing with all of us. Again Thanks.

    • Stephanie Jones

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! Jenny thank you for taking on the task of the website and compiling all the great deals, I love shopping at Publix and can’t wait for the Wed matchups! You have really saved our family so much and we have a great stockpile and a full pantry! I would love to try to turn $50 into $150 worth of items at Publix!

Thank you for everything, I do not know how you have time to sleep with your little ones and running this site! You are appericated!

    • Rebecca

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your website and it helps me weekly to save well over 60%. It is also a wonderful tool to help me know where to get my best deals. thank you so much for all of your hard work. I would benefit greatly from $50 gift card to spend at Bi-Lo! Thank you in advance!!!!

    • Emily

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Since you have allowed me to save money to afford to shop at Publix instead of Walmart, I would definitely use this at Publix!!!
My greatest triumph as far as savings was spending $21 while saving $89, so I’ll go out on a limb and say I could get up to $250 of groceries with a $50 giftcard.

Thanks again! May you have many many more years of birthdays!

    • Kim Carlile

I would like a gift card to Harris Teeter. I am hoping for another triples soon and could get an amazing amount of groceries for that amount! Thanks.

    • Jennifer

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I am very new to this but am HOOKED! I am loving this. I have saved soooo much money so far. With fifty dollars from Publix, I could save at least that and probably more like seventy dollars or so. I never shopped at Publix before now because they were so expensive, but now that is my store.

    • Jennifer

      Happy Birthday!

I think I could turn that $50 into $130 at Publix. My favorite cashiers all know about you by the way. LOL! You rock!

      Jennifer
      rachandmary@yahoo.com

    • Jennifer

Happy Birthday! I am very new to Southern Savers but I am HOOKED! I am loving the deals that I am getting and with a fifty dollar card for Publix I think I could get close to two hundred dollars worth of groceries for fifty dollars. Thanks for everything you do on here. You have helped me a lot. I am in nursing school and working part time so every dime saved is awesome!

    • Marti

How fun! I would love to do this challenge at my Sumter Bilo! i bet I could get over $300 Hope I get to try!

    • ann

Happy birthday I am new to your sight but I just cant beleive how much i am saving and I know I never could do it without your help. If i got the $50 I would use it at Publix where I do most of my savings. I would probably you it over a couple of trips to get the most for the money. I love it when I use a coupon plus have an overage It would be so much fun trying to get the most out of $50 I hope I get to try

    • DeVonnish Stephens

I think with $50 at publix, I could get about $125.00 -$150.00 in groceries.

I just started using this website site about 3 months ago and I love it. When I’m not at work I am checking it about every hour or so for updates. Before I started visiting this website for savings, my husband and I were always stressed because we didn’t know how we were going to afford enough groceries to feed a family of four off of the little money we had leftover from paying bills. Thanks to this website I have a stocked refrigerator and pantry all the time. I am able to get double and sometimes triple the amount of groceries that I could get before. So thank you so much for creating this website and I hope there are many more birthdays to come for Southern Savers!

    • Hi! I am excited about this and even if I don’t win I love to hear about how other folks have done. It always encourages me to do better! If I were to win one, I’d choose Publix. It is my favorite store. Mine accepts Wag’s register rewards and I can stack military coupons with manufacturers, so I think that I could possibly do between $250-$300 with a lot of planning.

I do appreciate your website so much. Always thought the commissary was the cheapest place to shop. Thanks to what I’ve learned online I spend the same amount every payday but now I have a healthy stockpile.

Some of my non-couponer friends may laugh (I’ve converted a few on them!) but to the rest I just tell them that some people like to go deer hunting for a hobby, I like to go grocery hunting!

I am posting about Southern Savers on my blog!

    • Bethany R Weed

Ok, I’d have to go for my Wags. With the amazing clearance + coupon deals I get there, I would wager… at least 250 of savings. (Yeah, once upon a time, I picked up a $24 tub of formula for .74 cents. 74 cents! Are you kidding me???!?)
Of course, it would be more useful grocery-wise to pick the Kroger (I don’t have Bi-lo or Publix, which a lot of your readers seem to have chosen.) But I’m not quite as good at Kroger shopping yet… so I don’t want to guess how much I could save…

      Anyway, thanks again!

    • Lana

Happy Birthday! Thanks for all you do!
I would definately choose Publix and Believe I coulmake that card buy at least $200 worth. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

    • jenny

I can’t believe that you have only been around 1 year. You seem like you have been doing this for a long time. You have saved me so much money since I found you. I would use my gift card at Kroger. Thank you so much for all you do. You have helped me save and also allow me to buy many things for the church for free. It is so much fun being able to donated items to someone who really needs them.

    • jenny

I forgot to say that I think I could get 150 dollars worth with all the help you give us.

      Thanks again

    • Aimee

How exciting! Dave Ramsey says in a marriage there is usually one spender and one saver. I was definitely the spender and my hubby the saver (I mean, tighter than bark on a tree, saver). So when I told my hubby I was going to start couponing and use Southern Savers website to help me. He said, “We’ll see how long she sticks with this.” Well, it’s been 10 weeks and we have a great stockpile going, we eat out way less, and eat WELL at home. We have found Publix and Target to be our goldmines. I would put the $50 to best use there (Publix being the primary goldmine)! I would hope to get $150+ worth with the $50 prize, but might get more. BTW, my hubby now asks, “Are we getting low? Are we going to the store this week?” Fun to see him on board!!!

    • Angela

I shop at Publix and would love the $50 prize! Just 3 weeks ago, I shopped at Publix….received $122 worth of groceries and only spent $8! I try to buy as much as possible with the least amount spent so that I can share with others who are struggling to make ends meet. I am currently layed off and these deals keep me stocked up on groceries! Give me the oppportunity to share an exciting receipt and picture of the goods with you when I use the $50 gift card at Publix! Thanks and Happy Birthday!

    • cdmom

Happy Bday! Love your site. Thanks for your hard work! I hope the new stores your planning to start covering include Lowe’s Food :)
I would choose Harris Teeter. My goal is to always save at least 50% on every grocery trip although it often is 75% or more. This gift card would be great to use during triples!

    • Carol Velasco

I am a newbie to this site and it has really helped our family save lots of money. My husband says I need profeesional help but I know he is very happy with the money we have saved. We have had some financial difficulty so this is wonderful. Happy birthday and keep up the good work.
Harris Teeter I think i could turn that into 120.ooif I can use it on triples!

    • Jessica

I have just started learning to coupon. I am not awesome yet, but I am making really good strides. I would love the opportunity to
prove how much I could save. It is really a new goal that I have for our family now that I am a stay at home mom. Thanks!

    • Jessica

I would love to see what deals I can find to spend this $50 with at Publix! I am sure I could save at least $50 with the bogo deals but with my coupons do even better.

    • Caroline

Happy Birthday and thank you SO much for the information you provide! It has really been great to learn how much $$ I can save each week. I’d use the $50 at Publix…I typically average 50% savings.

    • Libby

I share a birthday with southern savers! Cool. I have saved so much money from your awesome website and wonderful lists. I tell everyone I know about it. This past month I spent 150 on groceries and saved around 300. I would be using this at Publix and I would shoot for prob. around 130 but i wouldn’t be suprised if it was more like 150.

    • Kim

      Simply amazing! Thank you!

    • Jess

My store of choice is now publix.. I had never even been in one until I started using southern savers. I tell everyone I know about this site. I LOVE IT!! I think I could get at least $300 with the GC. Thanks jenny for all you do.

    • gini

Wow! This whole thing has gone so smoothly for the last 6 months that I’ve been using it, I can’t believe it’s only been going for a year! Great job, Jenny! Your efforts are really being blessed.
I think that if I went to the right Publix, I could get $150 worth of stuff with that $50….If I were going for just the right numbers…but if I were just buying my groceries the way I normally do, It would probably be more like $120. Thank you, Jenny!

    • Happy Birthday, Southern Savers.. you have been a “life saver!” I have saved so much money for my husband and I and our ‘almost here’ baby girl. Thank you so much for all the valuable info!

    • Pat

      Happy Birthday SouthernSavers!

This site as been a blessing to me. I not only get to shop, I get to save money while I am doing it.

My children have even started to notice how much I purchase versus how much I spend. They are truly amazed. I tell them it is all thanks to you and your site.

I would use Publix and as others have stated could easily get $100 or more in grocery.

My favorite savings so far, Electrosol Tabs.

      Thanks for all you do!

    • Tabetha

Wow! I cant believe it’s been a year…that’s awesome, you do a great job. My favorite store is Publix and for $50…about $120 worth of stuff?

    • Paige

Congrats on 1 year!!! If I won, and if I could get it before my vacation, I’d want the gift certificate for Publix. I live in Kentucky, but when we go to Hilton Head, we shop at Publix. And with $50, I’d surely be able to stock our condo with food – and SHRIMP!! – for 6 adults and 2 children!! If I couldn’t get it before then, I’d get Kroger and with $50 be looking to restock my freezer with great summer deals!! Either store, I think I could easily get $120 for $50 – but probably even more!!

    • Jenny,
Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE $50 to spend at Publix and would guess that I could get about $150 worth of groceries with just $50! I’ll also blog about this site and your giveaway. I’ve gotten friends (and a sister) addicted to this lifestyle using Southern Savers and your hard work has blessed us beyond belief. I’m a single mom to three girls and you’ve made our monthly grocery budget of $75 reality! I also appreciate your encouragement to be kind and gracious with coupons. We’re blessed to have these resources!
      Thank you, Jenny!
      Blessings,
      Beth

    • Tammy

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!! Wow, how this website has changed my life!! I am addicted!!! My favorite place to shop is Publix. For $50.00 I think I could easily get $150+- worth of groceries.

Thank you for all you do!!!

    • Amy

I hope you have many more birthdays, Southern Savers, because this site has hepled me so much! I live in Wilmington, NC, and we do not have a Bi-Lo or a Publix. I wish we did, because the savings seem to be great from what I read. We do have a Harris Teeter, and it is fast becoming my favorite place to shop. If it is a Triples week, I could probably get $225 worth of groceries with the $50, and in a regular week for my family of 6 with 4 growing boys, I would say $150 worth. It would be so wonderful for my family to win this, but I know it would be a blessing to everyone. Thank you so much for your hard work!

    • Amanda Bolton

I would love to win the $50 GC! I would shop at Bi~Lo because on average I save 50-70% per trip!

    • Linda Griggs

Happy Birthday, Southern Savers!!! I didn’t realize that you were so young! I am so happy that I have stumbled upon your site; you have kept my family fed rather well even after my husband has lost his job. Thank you for all that you do. We wouldn’t eat without you! If I get drawn I would like a giftcard to Publix. I have saved $193 by only spending forty-seven before. Thanks, again!!!

    • Happy Birthday to you, Southern Savers! I have been using your site for over 3 months and have already saved my family well over $1000 in groceries/household items and toiletries! What a blessing you have been. I am hoping to win $50 to Publix! $50 will often purchase my family upwards of $150 in groceries at Publix. I would love to share my purchases with you!

    • I just twittered about your contest and your wonderful site!

    • Carmen

Happy Birthday dear Southern Savers, Happy Birthday to you!!I would love to win a Publix gift card. $50 would probably purchase $100-$125 in my area. Thanks!!

    • Paige

      Just twittered! @thriftynewlywed

    • Noreen

Happy Birthday Southern Savers!! While visiting my daughter in South Carolina she signed us up for your Extreme Couponing meeting. I secretly thought to myself what is she going to teach me. I have been couponing and refunding for almost 25 years. Boy was I mistaken, I left there eager to get started with the drug store deals. I live in Pennsylvania so we do not have a Publix, but I wish I did. I now love CVS! If I win I would give my $50.00 to the Southern daughter and let her put it to good use at Publix. May the Lord richly bless you as you continue to bless others with your tips. Thank from the Northern girl!

    • Noora

I’d love to win a Publix gift card. I’m fairly new at this, but I think I could get at least $100 out of it if I really plan well.

    • Happy Birthday! I just recently disovered Publix so I would love to have a gift card there. I think I could turn that $50 into $125-$150 of groceries.

    • Jennifer T

Happy Birthday Southernsavers!! I am so thankful for your site and all the hard work that must go into it. You have saved me much time and money and I really appreciate it. I would love to win a gift card to Publix. I save an average of 45% each week.

    • Samantha

Happy birthday to your website! I would definitely take $50 to Harris Teeter. I know they are starting to rotate triple coupons a lot these days. I have never been more excited to see this store added to your website. I thought I was doing well before but now I capitalize on exactly what we need with triple coupons. Thanks again – I would be so excited to win! I never win anything!

    • Robin Schorr

Happy Bday to your website! I am so thankful for it! I have started using your site and within the last 2 months I have already amazed my husband and family so much they keep asking me to show them! And to that statement I just send them your website! I would love $50 to Publix. I would love to shop there and I typically save at least $40 a trip there so I am going to try to double that and say $80!

      Thanks!

    • Tavita K

Your site is just AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Words cannot express how much I appreciate all you do. You are doing a wonderful ministry here on earth….you will receive a reward, I am sure because so many people bless you. I would really appreciate a $50 card to Publix. It is my favorite store. May God continue blessing you abundantly as you continue blessing our family. Thank you!

    • Kroger for me, thanks! Wow! $50 would probably cover a week’s worth of groceries for our family of 5 (on a good week!) Some weeks are better than others, after all! Plus, once my garden is really rolling, I only need a few staples like meat and dairy to round out our meals.

    • Rene

Lowes Foods and I think $50 would get me $225 of groceries. Thanks!

    • Jane M

HAPPY Birthday Southernsavers….. The 50 would be at Kroger with all the sales that they have and the coupons that i get i save so much on my food bill. • I could turn that into a week’s worth of groceries!! Kroger for me! Mostly because we do not have the other grocery stores here in Houston. But I looooooooove your site… got me rolling with the savings for sure!! I’m blogging about this as well… giving you a shout out with how much your site helps out! Thanks!

    • Martha

I would love to spend that $50 at Publix or at a new Kroger I just find out they accept competitor coupons. I think I can get about $200 worth for $50. Happy Birthday Southern Savers and thank you for all the savings!

    • Noelle

I love Publix and would shop there with the gift card. I could get atleast $100 maybe more with that gift card – I am still learning how to put it all together and get soooo excited when I see the savings. This is vital to me and my three kids since my husband left and I am only given $100 a week for groceries! Yikes!!!! Southern Savers and good friends are the only reason why we are able to survive this.

      Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!

    • April

I would use the $50 at Harris Teeter, hopefully during Triple Coupons. Happy birthday Southern Savers!

    • Mike

I would LOVE a $50 gift card to Publix, where saving is part of the pleasure! Thanks to your great website, I think I could get aboout $120 worth of groceries with the gift card. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SoutherSavers!!!

    • Thanks for the giveaway, Jenny! That $50 would stretch REALLY far at Publix. I’d love to be able to spend $50 at once in a grocery store. I don’t think I’ve ever done it.

    • Kim

Happy Birthday! I would like $50 to use at Publix. Before your website I would NEVER shop at Publix… too expensive. Now it’s my favorite. I would guess I could get between 125-175 with 50$. Thanks! Kim S.

    • Angel R.

I am the mother of a beautiful little redheaded boy. When he joined our family 23 months ago, our hearts’ desire was for me to be able to stay home with him. We stripped down our lifestyle and took a huge leap of faith, and I left my job. We pinch every penny, often several times over, to allow me to be at home with him. We have always used coupons, and I thought I was doing good by saving $8-$10 each time we shopped. Little did I know! After viewing your site for the first time on Memorial Day weekend, we saved $180 on a $250 order – paying just $73. Amazing! We are hooked! I am still in the process of organizing my coupons into a binder. Who knows how much we’ll be able to save once I get myself organized. Thank you, Jenny, for creating this wonderful life-saving blessing of a site. You have changed many, many lives – all for the better. God bless you! If you pick my family for the $50 GC, we would use it at Publix to get at least $150 in groceries. Thank you for all you do! Many happy returns for Southern Savers!

    • I would love to have this $50. I would go to Bilo or Publix. Either is great. And I think I could get $150 worth of groceries for $50. It would definitely last more than 1 week using your great website. Thanks for all the work you do.

    • Migs

I would def use it at Publix.. I think I could get $100 worth with those $50… so please Mr. Random Generator pick me!!

      -Migdalia
      migdaliamart at gmail dot com

    • Jennifer

I would LOVE to be chosen as one of the recipients for the gift card. I would go to Publix & get around $150 worth of groceries. I might actually split it into 2 transactions!

Thanks so much for your ministry. It has been a true blessing to our family!!

    • Holly

I would use the $50 at Publix. Since beginning serious couponing and sale shopping in January, I save an average of 70%-80% on my trips. So I would guess I could make this $50 last me 2 weeks at Publix and that would include some stockpiling! Thanks for your site!

    • Laura F

      Kroger

      $100

      Thanks! :-)

    • joy

I think I could get $200 worth of groceries for $50 at Publix. I haven’t actually spent $50 there in a long time, thanks to Southern Savers.

    • Holly

I just blogged about your giveaway for a second chance at the $50. Hope you gain some readers from the blog.

      http://algoods.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-new-hobby.html

    • Anita Shipley

I think with $50 at Publix I could purchase maybe close to $150 worth of grocceries (with the help of Southern Savers, of course!)

    • Holly

Happy birthday, Southern Savers! Jenny, I want to thank you for all that you do (and have done) in getting this site going and keeping it up. It has been my couponing “Bible” since I started three months ago. I am a mom of two kids and I teach high school, so time is tight and sometimes money is, too! Your site helps me find the best deals in the least amount of time.

If I won, I would spend my $50 at either Bi-Lo (very close to home) or Publix (a twenty-minute drive, but usually worth it!).

    • MIcah Tignen

Happy Birthday to Southern Savers. Because of you I have come to love Publix. It is so nice to shop and and get treated well. I typically would save at least a $100 for spending $50.

    • momof2

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! Jenny, thank you so much for all of your hard work & for taking the time to help pass the savings on. If I won I would spend my gc @ Publix. I’m positive I would get 100 plus dollars worth of groceries & only have to pay $50 or less oop. Once again thank you!

    • Thank you for all you do. I have been able to share your site with over 400 people in Cleveland, TN and area in our coupon classes at First Baptist Church. I am so glad my friend at funandfrugal.com told me about you!

    • Thank you for all you do. You have saved so many families SO much money! I’ve shared your blog with all my co-workers and family…we are all hooked!!
I will be blogging about Southern Savers tonight!

    • Amy

No Way! My 40th Birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday to us. Thank you for all you do. Through your blog, I’ve shaved off $200/month off my groc./retail budget. Woo Hoo! I regularly save 50% at the least at my local KS for all my trips. Many small trips I go to just pick up free and cheap fillers.

    • Stacia

Thank you so much for all your hard work. I love your site, it saves my family so much money!! I would love to have a card for Publix. I always save at least 60% there! I blogged about the birthday giveaway on my blog http://staciajohnson.blogspot.com/2009/06/check-out-this-site.html

    • It’s worth a shot :o) Thanks so much for all you do!!!!

    • Selma

Happy Birthday, Southern Savers. Thank you for doing so much research on where to find the savings. It certainly saves me time. I would spend $50 at Publix, CVS and/or Kroger. I can usually cut my bill by 40-50% so I feel confident I can get $70-100 worth of products with the money.

    • Happy Birthday southern savers! Well with $50 I would have to say Kroger. As of late I have had better deals at Kroger than at any other store around me. I believe I would be able to purchase about $150- $200 worth of groceries with $50, and That would include the items I would need to get the things to make my little boys Birthday cake on Sunday. At first I was unsure this would work for me, but after saving over $1000 this year and I have only been couponing about three months, I am very pleased, with myself and the person who taught others how to save money and did the selfless thing and taught others! Thank you so much for all the help!

    • Happy Birthday! I would love to win this for bi-lo or harris teeter. I think I could get $150. This website has helped my family tremendously. Thanks for the chance to win.

    • Jackie G

Happy Birthday Southern Savers. Many, many thanks to you Jenny for all of your endless work to put this information together. The store I would like a gift card for would be Walgreen’s because “Working Walgreen’s” is priceless. I can easily get over $400 worth of items…it will take awhile but it is SO MUCH FUN to walk out with my “loot” …. sometimes I almost (ALMOST) feel guilty….NOT!!!!!!

    • Christine M!

WOW!! I love Southern Savers! Happy Birthday! I would love to win the gift card-I would have to split it with my best coupon friend, Joei! She has my back with all the good q’s and we both love SS! I would pick Publix because they have all the good B1G1’s in Central Florida. With the help of SS, I could get over $250 worth of groceries and meat for $50. This site has set me off in directions I have never imagined! With the help of SS, I am saving $, teaching my kids how to save $ and I am enjoying grocery shopping for the first time in my life!!!!!

    • ChristineR

Howdy! I would love to take on the challenge. With a good sale I would love to use the $50 at either Kroger or my standby Walmart for stocking the pantry and freezer. Thanks for all you do!

    • bhumi

i attended one of your seminars and now am hooked to clipping an collecting coupons. I get excited like a lil school girl when i got those blinky coupons today for the first time. If i win those $50 then i will use all your startegies suggested to shop at Publix, coz from what i understood, if we follow your plan then publix is the best place to shop. I checked out my publix store and they said they accept, target, costco, whole foods and any other stores coupons that sell grocery. I didnt know that until i met you. I broke to the news to all my girl friends and they are so happy to know that.

Greetings! Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would use the $50 at either Bi-Lo or Publix. With the BOGOF specials it could easily be doubled. Many thanks.

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! You have saved my family a bundle….although they think I am fanatical about my coupons at times. I would take a gift card to Kroger. Not really sure how much I can get for it, but I would think at least $100 to $110. Still learning the ropes. Thanks for all you do to help us save money for our family.

      Wow! Happy Birthday!
I would take Publix of course-my favorite! With good sales/coupons probably $200. Over 700 entries so far- Do you really read ALL these??? I appreciate all your time and hard work. Couldn’t save this much
without you! I hope SS has many. many, more birthdays:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am fairly new to this site. I have only been using it about two weeks but had been trying to save with coupons for about 4 months. Once I found this site I was sooo excited and sooo hooked! I don’t know how you find the time and energy to put all this together for us but I am sooo glad you do. Please keep it up. I could make 50 bucks go a looong way at Publix (it is my fave).

    • Kelly

      I will twitter too!

Happy Birthday! I would use the $50 at Bi Lo; I think I could save at least $200 with the card, coupons, and BOGOs!

    • Elizabeth

I love the site! The only thing is that I live in Mobile, AL and I feel left out of the grocery store deals. We only have Winn Dixie, Food World, and Bruno’s here…none of the other stores. They definitely don’t seem to have the same good deals as the other stores, or maybe I don’t have the eyes to see them. I need Jenny to point them out for me. That would be great to add those stores for your deep South readers. Thanks for all you do!

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I would use the gift card at Publix. I think I could save at least 70%. Thank you for making that possible through all the great tips I get from your site!!!

    • Hi Jenny!

I am really new to couponing and southernsavers; I’ve only been doing it a couple weeks. Several ladies from church are really into this and when I heard about how they were getting things for FREE, I had to check it out. I must say that I am now HOOKED!!! I had no idea that you could double coupons on B1G1 items and use competitors coupons! I am still learning how to weed out my routine buys and purchase the deals that you show us. I don’t have the break down of what I have saved so far, but my cabinets are much fuller than they usually are and I haven’t spent a fortune! THANK YOU!!! If I were to win the $50, I would definitely use it at Publix. I have been a faithful Wal-mart shopper for so long because of the prices. I’ve always LOVED Publix, but “thought” that I could not afford it. Well, my eyes have been opened to a whole new world of shopping and saving and I am looking forward to all the deals that you help us find. I would love to use the $50 to get the most that I can for my money and share it with everyone. Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication to southernsavers!!!

      (sorry it’s long)

I am new to couponing, but have quickly become addicted! I would love a $50 gift cert. to Publix. I believe that I could by at least $100 in groceries. I am up for the challenge, so bring it on!!!! Thanks for such a wonderful (and easy to navigate!) website!!!!

    • Jennifer

I can’t believe your site is only 1 year old! Amazing what you have accomplished in such a short time!
Your site has truly been a blessing to our family. With 4 little ones and one on the way, being able to save 60% on average has been such a gift! Thank you!
I would be thrilled with a $50 gift card to Bilo, Publix or Kroger and would probably be able to purchase about $120-$130 worth of groceries.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and for being honest and fair with both the couponers and the retailers.

Happy Birthday! I’m new to this site. I just discovered it about 3 weeks ago and I have only been couponing for about 3 months. If I got the $50 I could probably buy $75-$100 with it. I’m new to couponing and haven’t learned all the tricks but I average about 50% savings with my coupons. The grocery store I would pick would be Food Lion.

Thanks for all your time and effort into this website. You are helping so many families.

      Hi Jenny,

I would have to say Publix for the $50 giveaway I think the money could go the furthest. I grew up seeing my mom use coupons and have stores owe her money, but this site brings coupons to a whole new level. Now at 23 and after a year of being married, I must say I am so grateful to God for coupons. I had the opportunity a few weeks ago at Publix to get $128.38 worth of groceries for 8 cents. (That’s right I’ve never been so excited to shell out 8 pennies in my life!!) Then I was able to get another $128.57 worth of groceries for 10.08. Now most of the items I got I wound up giving away to several families which was a great experience. Actually that week was the week that I found out about your blog Southern Savers from a fellow couponer in the store and she actually gave me some coupons for some Aunt Jemina breakfasts. She even gave me her number to call her. If she sees this, hi Esmerelda.

So to answer your question, if I was blessed to get the $50 gift card then I would say that I could spend between $150 -$250 depending on the week. As you know some weeks at Publix are so so, and then some are like ba bam, Thank You Jesus. Makes you want to shout so good. :)

Anyway, I would definitely have a blast saving money and telling others about how I did it. :)

Thanks for the opportunity to save and bless others as a result,

      Hannah Carter

    • Happy Birthday Southern Savers!!!! For around 3 months now, I have been using your website – and after attending your Extreme Coupon seminar in Atlanta. I would have never believed anyone could save so much money. On average, I have saved around 62% on all purchases. Plus, I never went to Publix because “it was too high.” Now that is the only grocery store I go to.

I would love to win one of the $50 gift cards for Publix. I think I could get around $175 worth of groceries. My best saving experience was with the charcoal sale week — $300 worth of groceries for $100!

Thank you again for all that you do, Jenny and Southern Savers

    • christy

thanks so much! I would definitely choose Publix, and I think I could get $120 worth of groceries.

    • Amy

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I am so glad you are here!
I do most of my shopping at Pulbix. I think I could fill my cart with $135 of groceries and get it down to $50 — all because of you! I have spent the better part of today organizing my stockpile. WOW – I’ve found a lot of good deals=) Next, I need to find a good deal on a some shelves. LOL
      Thanks,
      Amy

    • Monique W.

Happy Bday! Thank you Jenny for all that you do! I look forward to getting my feedblitz every day!
I would choose Publix, and could get about $180ish worth. My church is starting a food pantry, and it would be awesome to use this for that!
Thank you so very very much!

    • Misty

I was told about your website just over a month ago, and just in the past month we have saved over $500! My stock piles are growing! My husband is amazed by how much money can be saved in couponing! I am so thankful that the Lord has been able to use you to bless the finances of so many! I would like a $50 gift card to Publix. I have saved over 65% each time I’ve shopped here, and they are so friendly and helpful each time! I imagine I could buy at least $150 worth of groceries for $50 there.

Thank you again for all you do! May the Lord bless you and your family!

    • Trevor

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUTHERN SAVERS!! You site is a wonderful place to find deals, i just started in April and have saved over $1000 already. I typically have a savings of 60-70% every week. Couldnt do it without you! I think with a $50 card from Harris Teeter I could but $150 worth of items.

$50 Gift Card to Bi-lo Could Buy AT LEAST $263 in Groceries, Maybe More

Wow! A $50 gift card!!! Last year I could have bought $50 worth of groceries. This year, since I’ve found southernsavers.com I can buy a lot more.
I’ve never been a couponer before. They seemed to always cost me money instead of saving me anything. Then my husband came home from work telling me about how his co-worker and her daughter were getting stuff for FREE. He was excited. I was skeptical. It actually took him several weeks to finally get me to look at your website and then my world changed.
Now my friends call me over to tell them about “that deal at Bi-lo” and how one day my ending balance was -$0.10. Wow! But now I know better because that ruffled the feathers of the manager who was (unfortunately) standing right there and I didn’t have the time to grab a candy bar and fix it. So, I would pick a $50 gift card to Bi-lo and accept it as a challenge to see just how much I can do with it.
Last month I was buying Vitamin Water (with the coupon you found for us) by paying $0.15 tax for 10 bottles. If your challenge had come last month I could have bought 333 bottles of Vitamin Water valued at roughly $500 for that $50 gift card. It makes me think of “I’d like to buy the world a Coke,” only I’d buy them Vitamin Water instead. This month my best deal is the Blue Bunny ice cream. When I registered on their website and printed their coupons from the welcome email, it actually asked me how many coupons I wanted to print. Hmm. . . Let’s just say that our family will have ice cream until that coupon expires. I am buying Blue Bunny Personals for $1.25 each and using the $1.00 coupon on each. Without tax that means I could buy 200 of these (which retail for $250) for that $50 gift card. (The deal gets even sweeter than that if you buy them at Wal-mart because they have Blue Bunny Icecream Sandwiches for $1 each.)

So, I would LOVE to win this gift card. I KNOW I can get at least $250 worth of ice cream any day of the week. (Wait a minute here. My Bi-lo Bonus card gives me a 5% senior discount on Wednesdays.) I could actually go on Wednesday and get 210 Blue Bunny Personals (valued at $263) for $50. I’m hearing that Coca-Cola jingle again, only this time, “I’d like to buy the world some ice cream.”

So, it’s 3:00 AM on Saturday morning. I couldn’t sleep for thinking of southernsavers.com so I hope you haven’t picked your winners yet and I sure do hope you pick me. I’m up for the challenge to see just how much I could get at Bi-lo for $50, but I KNOW I can get at least $263, maybe more depending on what coupons you find for us. Thanks for all your help.

      Your new coupon protege,
      Denise

Thank you for what you do, Jenny. Publix has become my store of choice since following Southern Savers. I think I could stretch the $50 card to buy $120-$150 worth of items.

    • Karrie

Happy Birthday Southern Savers! I am fairly new to the couponing thing. I signed up for the Publix Baby Club and gots lots of coupons. Armed with my baby club coupons and coupons that I’ve gotten from your website and coupons.com, I headed to Publix last weekend. Boy, was it fun! I racked up and only spent $33! Now I’m addicted, but I’m still trying to learn the ins and outs of saving money. I would love a $50 certificate to Publix, my favorite new store! I’m honestly not sure how much I could get with the $50, since I’ve only done this once, but I would loooove to give it my best! Thanks so much for everything you do!

    • Kristi

My fave is Harris Teeter. I think I could buy a whole week’s worth of groceries for my family of 3 with that $50! Happy Birthday! Thanks for a great site!
