In regards to the Vanity Fair Napkins – just want you to know all the Vanity Fair coupons that I have seen in the past few months 55/1 start with a 9.  They will not double or triple at Harris Teeter.  It will only double or triple if the code begins with a 5.

If you bought any of these in the past there are .55 coupons printed inside. Personally, I think they taste terrible so you aren’t missing much.

    • Anonymous

Thanks for all the lists and Q match ups.  Love your site and appreciate all you do to post info on so many store ads.

    • Dreamcircle

My El Monterey snack coupons start with a 9.  I don’t think they will double.  Very disappointing…

      • Just4yall

IT also says bag and the one that is on sale is a box.

    • MrV

hey does anyone know if the barilla pasta sauce coupon with GS1 (new barcode) is going to triple.. or just in general.. does the new barcode triple?  It does not state on the coupon to not double or trouble.. so will it work?

      • Flippinfrogs

If it has a new barcode they will probably have to hand key it – but it should still triple!

        • MrV

ok thanks.. what about if it starts with 9 .. i have never seen a coupon start with 9 that says nothing about not doubling..

It’s for Bertolli pasta sauce.. starts with 9.. no mention of against doubleing

          • Hahasowhat

            any coupons that stat with a 9 will not double/triple : (

          • Yazpistachio

the Vanity Fair coupons start with a 9 but say nothing about doubling or tripling. I asked, and the cashier agreed to manually triple it for me!

      • Anonymous

It should triple. If it doesn’t, the store can manually triple it. Just go by the wording on the coupons. If it doesn’t say DND/DNT you shouldn’t have a problem.

        • MrV

          thanks… go wolfpack!

      • Suzi

I didn’t even notice the bar code but when I went through the cashier told me that these coupons were not even scanning.  He got an override and they manually entered the coupon and tripled it …I ended up making money on that deal.

        • Hermit

well the customer service person shouldn’t have made the coupon worth more than the retail value.   If I’d been doing the override it would have been even.

      • Suzi

I didn’t even notice the bar code but when I went through the cashier told me that these coupons were not even scanning.  He got an override and they manually entered the coupon and tripled it …I ended up making money on that deal.

    • Don’t forget with HT corporate policy says that they don’t accept internet printable BOGO coupons ( like the Hefty Waverly) :(

      • Anonymous

The $0.75 off is a better deal anyway (free), but thanks for the reminder :).

      • I didn’t know that

        • Anonymous

My HT will not even take a B1G1 q. I have been told this by management.

        • Anonymous

My HT will not even take a B1G1 q. I have been told this by management.

      • Kylie

They do take internet BOGO or at least my store does. HT just will not accept a FREE coupon where you don’t have to purchase an item first, but they do accept the BOGO

        • Hermit

That is an intersting case, if an item is BOGO, and you have a manufactures BOGO coupon… off the cuff, I’d think you would need 4 in the cart.  I’ll have to check on that.  Kind of a moot point, because Waverly only scedules 1 delivery a month to the warehouse, and HT won’t have any until October, lol.

    • beth_nc

i am fairly new to couponing and i have a question… when it says “unadvertised” deals… how do i know for sure that it will ring up like this at the store??

      • Just4yall

Unadvertised means it is not advertised in the weekly sales at it will have the sale price online and in the store.

      • Jennapatrick8

It also depends on the store.  My store in FM usually does different deals than what she advertises here.

      • You should always check what you plan against your HT express lane. Jenny’s deals aren’t always the same at every store.

    • Yazpistachio

Hey, I noticed the Kozy Shack coupon expired 8/31 FYI.

      • Carol_R

There was a Kozy Shack coupon that just came out in Sunday’s coupon inserts.

    • Asdho

FYI… The Vanity Fair coupon not only says “Do Not Double,” but it also starts with 9.  Therefore it definitely won’t double or triple, even if you have a lax cashier.  Happy shopping!!

      • YHerberger

Not only the Vanity Fair ones but also the Planters Nut-rition bars also say do not double .

        • artlady

I was wondering about the Planter coupons, too, but I decided to take a bargain on it this morning at the register.  They did triple!  (yay!) There wasn’t any problem with the cash register, either.

    • Mikismoney

I have forgotten how to look up coupons $.99 or less in the coupon database without typing in each amount individually.  Please let me know if you know.  Thx!

    • Palumbo

Thank You!!! I’ve heard horror stories about Wed mornings at HT, so I’m hoping everyone will be polite and mind their manners! At least my fiance is getting up to go with me – I’m a little intimidated by the seasoned couponers.

      • Krysten Hoover

I go on wed nights! and it seems like the same ppl go every wed and its quiet!he only thing is they are normal restocking and we have to go through boxes!

      • Just4yall

I have never gone on a triples week so I dont know if it is the same but on doubles I have gone about 6am after I drop my husband off at work and it doesnt seem to get real bad until 630 7. I am guessing there is not a whole lot of early birds here but I plan on going in at 5am tomorrow just because I want to make sure I get the really important stuff. Other than that I plan on going everyday this week. Its horrable I know but I have over 30 different items with multiple coupons of each and after the 1st day I dont know what will be back in stock when so have to keep checking.

        • SarahNC82

My HT isnt starting triples til 7am. Guess no shopping for me before work, lol. Oh well, whole week to go though. I didnt shop everyday like I wanted to for Super Doubles, so I am definitely not gonna miss out this round :)

        • Earthymamablogger

don’t try to check out until after 7, the sale prices don’t start ringing up until then

    • Hardbutterpad

Can someone please tell me what the acorns and the M beside of the items that light up mean.

      • Acorns show that it’s a great price and the big deal!  M and S beside the coupon indicate store or manufacturer coupon

    • Proudlyamom

Thanks Jenny. I have NO IDEA how you do it all!

    • Amber

Thanks for making these lists! I can’t even imagine how much work goes into them. One thing I did notice though was the Sheds Country Crock listed for $2 with a $0.40 coupon making the final price $1.20 but I dont think that’s right. If the $0.40 tripples to $1.20 then the final price would be $0.80.

    • Anonymous

Thanks Jenny. I have NO IDEA how you do it all! ..
I just got a $829.99 iPåd2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.
      I use BÏDFiRsT. COM

    • MSnyder

When the item is a BOGO, can you use two coupons to get the good deal, or do you have to do two separate transactions with one item each time?  (ex. Barilla Pasta Sauce is BOGO @ $2.89 and coupon is .55/1, so can I use (2) .55/1 coupons so they are free, or do I have to purchase each one on a sep. transaction so they ring 1/2 price?)

      • Kylie

you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO deal b/c each item actually rings up half price HTH

        • Hermit

You can use one coupon for each one you buy, not the free one.  You buy one, you get one free.  You cannot use 2 coupons on bogo products unless you have 4 in your cart.

          • Nikkirose30

You can use 2 coupons on a BOGO as long as the item rings at half price!

            • CouponFairy

Yeah as long as it rings half price.  The Hefty Waverly napkins were BOGO but they didn’t ring up at half so you could only use 1 coupon.

      • Kylie

you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO deal b/c each item actually rings up half price HTH

      • Lisabluedevil

You used to have to put them in two separate transactions, but I’m pretty sure you don’t have to do that since HT updated their coupon policy a few months ago.  Each item will ring at half price.

      • Hermit

The register will NOT let the item go negative.  If you buy 3, you get 3 free for a total of 6 Barilla pasta sauces, and 3 of your .55/1 coupons will work.  I think that makes them 12 cents a jar… are you really going too haggle the system over that??!!??

      • Rossjulie

Use 2 coupons.  They will ring at half price.  2 sauces.  2 coupons.

    • Marycansave

I believe the bestlife product sale ends today….

    • Marycansave

Also, the 75c/1 resolve coupon is for carpet stain removers, not laundry stain removers.

      • Amanda

The one for laundry stain removers is only for 50c off

        • Marycansave

Still a great price on laundry stain removers!  My store had 65/1 peelies on them, although they weren’t the type that doubled.  I saved them for a rainy day and used my 50 cent coupons.  :)

    • Anonymous

Good list!  Thank you!!! …. I just got a $829.99 iPåd2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. • So I live in Murfreesboro.  If I go at the crack of dawn on Friday morning, will all the good stuff be cleared out?  I’d love to go but I don’t think I can get there before Friday.  And do you think it’s worth the gas money for only 20 triples?  I’m sure I’ve got some $1 coupons to throw on there, too.

      • Susan

I don’t know how far you are from a HT, but I’ve had luck with shopping on Fridays, Sundays and Mon/Tues of a big sale week.  I take a lot of coupons though, so if one or more of the items I want are out of stock, there are backups.

        • Just4yall

Yeah Sundays seem to be pretty good for me too. I think it is because the other couponers are out shopping the new Sunday sales.

      • Shannon

I always go on Friday and they usually have almost everything I go for. Last time they were only out of 2 items. I go to the HT in Belle Meade.

    • Beachwaves0707

have  50cent coupon for the country crock. Its a register coupon(catalina?) Will it triple?

      • Just4yall

        no it will not.

    • Earthymamablogger

Heads up, on the Lysol, the second two coupons listed are for the room spray, not the trigger cleaner and will not work on the cleaners.

    • Roxalot101

I was wondering if someone could help me. I’m having a hard time understanding HT’s coupon policy on internet printable coupons. Do they only take 2 internet coupons per your entire shopping trip? Or are they limiting the number of internet coupons so that you can only buy 2 like items and use 2 like internet coupons? Thank you SO much for anyone that is willing to try and clear up this confusion I am having!

      • JL

2 internet coupons per like items

    • smason

I have a question about coupons that say “do not double”…..I was planning out my shopping trip to Harris Teeter last night and noticed that several of the ones suggested to use said do not double.  Will they double or triple them anyway?

      • becca

if the barcode has a 5 as the first number it will double or triple in this case if its a 9 they won’t multiply it.

        • Yazpistachio

Their policy is to not double those coupons that say “do not double”. For the ones that have a barcode beginning with 5, it comes down to whether the cashier pays attention and manually overides them. If they don’t override, the coupon will double automatically.

I had a really nice cashier this morning. The Vanity Fair napkins coupon begins with a 9, but it doesn’t say “do not double or triple”, so she agreed to manually triple it for me!

          • Danielle

My Vanity Fair coupon wouldn’t even scan.  The register kept saying “cannot find item,” but she did ring up the napkins, so the item was there.  I don’t know what the problem was, but I had an extremely friendly cashier that got her manager to override.  Not sure I will be so lucky if I try to go back for one more pack later in the week.

            • SWolfertz

Had same problem and the manager would not override.

          • Carol_R

I’ve have ones that start with a 5 with DND that automatically do not double.

          • Marycansave

Yeah i was sad about that one.

      • Amy

The policy says “should not be doubled”.  The computer will double them (or triple in this case) but it depends on your cashier.  The operative word here is “should”.  Last night, I was doing my regular shopping and the cashier at my store told me that at *her* store, the cashiers were supposed to look for those coupons and manually put them in, but that all the stores don’t do that.

        • Carol_R

My experience is that with Harris Teeter their computer program will not double them.

      • CouponFairy

The lady in line next to me wasn’t able to use her “Do Not Double Coupons”…they actually went in and deleted the coupons, even though they automatically scanned at triple, the cashier went back and took them off.  My cashier didn’t pay attention and all mine went through just fine and tripled.  So it just depends on if they look at them or not.

      • JL

Make sure you ask your store manager thier DND policy some store allow some do not. Mys store is a strict DND so I pay close attention and try not to use tem or let the cahier know and put them at the end. I asked a friendly cashier why some allow some do not she was not sure why some stores do and some don not but she did tell me that they get written up if they allow dnd coupons when the managers go through thier coupons and the end of the day. So please check with the manager and don’t try to use them if they don’t allow it. You will be frustated when they won’t do it and if it slips by the cahier you wil be getting them in trouble.

      • Hermit

Sometimes the register will 3x a coupone that says “DO NOT DOUBLE”, or “DO NOT MULTIPLY”.  As a cashier, I’m not going to argue w/ the register, in other words if it triples you got lucky, I’m not going to void the coupon and spend 20 minutes trying to fix it when my line is already 6 deep, lol.

      • Marycansave

They always let my coupons double or triple unless the manufacturer hard codes them to not double…they will not “force” those.  In the traditional barcode, it’s the barcodes that begin with a 9 that will not double.  Sadly, they’re becoming more common lately.  :(

    • Audraymac

Triples was fun this morning! We got $95 worth of groceries for $17! Yeah! Most everything was there – except my 5lb bags of sugar. boooo!

      • Laurakc181

yeah, the sugar was gone at my store too!  It was gone at 7am though – odd.

        • Katie

The sugar was gone BEFORE 7am at my store – BOO!

        • Lauren

it was gone at 7am at the Brentwood, TN store too….

      • Hermit

Yeah, sorry about the Domino’s sugar, was on sale for 2 weeks already.  I sincerly hope that Domino’s can replenish the HT warehouse fast enough to cover this week.

        • TheChapLeigh

Yeah, I had to get a raincheck last week…

    • Kara

Is this triple coupons thing for this week only or is it ther new policy?

      • racecitymom

        this week only

      • Hermit

Harris Teeter occasionally offers 3x coupons, and supper 2x coupon weeks on a random, but fairly regular basis.

    • Jas

I went to the harris teeter in fayetteville nc and was told they do not accept walgreens rr. they only accept rewards from other grocery stores in the area. has anyone else heard this?

      • racecitymom

I have used them at HT!

    • Niki

TRIPLED paper q’s, AND Zaver/E-coupons on many things!  Please do the E-Coupons on your VIC card if you haven’t already!

      • Jjfrugalfriends

Be careful loading e-coupons today and using them the same day. I loaded some this am before I left and they didn’t come off. The ones I loaded prior today did come off.

        • Lh

The same thing happened to me!

        • Kerry72nc

I have found as well some others that you MUST give them your vic card before ringing anything in order for the ZVRs to take off correctly. I find that I have to print out the list nearly each week to see if anything new was added plus some I used and verified but still were loaded (?). I really like the ZVR program!

          • Rhynedeals

How do you print your ZVR list?

      • Hermit

If you have a e-coupon from the HT site on your vic card, a manufactures coupon might not multiply as much,so keep that in mind.  I’d suggest clipping the e-vic coupon first, then using the manufactures coupon on your next trip, the register will not let the item go negative, (and you wasted 1/2 of the triple value).  Just a suggestion.

    • Aannas

Found an on product coupon on Mrs. Butterworth syrup for .55 that tripled making the syrup $1.74 which is cheaper than the Log Cabin BOGO syrup so be sure to check your store!

    • cowgirl

Morning All! Had a great shopping trip at HT, I ALWAYS have great service at ours. My trip went well, but I was sad that I did not catch that the Bestlife butter did not ring up at 1/2 price and I bought 3 using coupons. At $2.59 each, it threw my shopping off a little. This is my 3d time as a newbie coupon user…..:)
PS Jenny and all of you make this an amazing site!

    • StaceyF

Please! Understand, new couponers, that you will not go in and do what they do on TV. I saw several people at my local HT this morning trying to buy 10-30 of things and then getting belligerent with the manager because of the 20/3 coupon rule. Read the rules, know what you are getting into before you jump in and fill 3 carts. It wastes your time and everyone else’s when they have to restock all of the stuff you got, plus you spent an hour or more walking around trying to get everything. Go every day if you need that much stuff but don’t try to do it all at once.

      • Guest

        Word.

    • Savn2gether

Just had a great shopping trip at HT! As an update, the 15 oz. worcestershire sauce was also free with the .75/1 coupon (so I was able to get the bigger bottle). Also, I’m not sure if the domino confectioner’s sugar was on list, but it is the same price and uses the same coupon as the domino brown sugar (1 lb. box), so you can get it for 60 cents each ($1.20 for 2). The chex mix muddy buddies are at a high price, so it wasn’t worth using the couopons for that. Hope that helps anyone preparing their list! Jenny, thanks for everything!

      • Hermit

I’m pretty sure the Chex Mix muddy buddies are gone forever @ HT.  If you like them, and you can still find them, you should probably use that coupon while they last.

      • Lauren

it was that way at the Brentwood TN store too -yay!

    • Katie

I have a question regarding store and manufacturer coupon rules:

      1) Stores get the full face value of the coupon back, correct? So, why do some stores get uptight over you getting an item for free if there is not restriction on the coupon? For example, I tried to get the tide sample packs with the tide coupon
and the cashier wouldn’t take it. Everytime someone in my family gets the 3 pk cascade with the $1 coupon, the cashier makes a snide comment saying “They need to fix this coupon..it shouldn’t work for this.” They make it seem like you are stealing. What is with this if they get the whole $1 back?

2)The store pays for the double or triple on coupons, correct? Why do manufacturers try to stop stores from doing this then with “no double or triple” posted on the coupon or starting the code with a 9.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but I just don’t get it.

      • Carol_R

Manufacturers assume a certain coupon redemption rate – maybe 5% or less. The purpose of coupons is not to give customers free products. It’s sort of like a rebate. It’s to encourage them to buy the product at a reduced price and maybe to try it for the first time. They are hoping that you will like the product and pay full price the next time.

Doubling or tripling coupons causes people to buy products that they wouldn’t otherwise. And if there is overage, I’ll buy products I don’t want or like simply to get the overage. I have no intention of ever trying that product. I’ll give it away – maybe to someone who would have been willing to pay full price for the item.

Let’s say that a store triples coupons up to $0.99 and that a manufacturer has put out $10,000,000 $0.50 coupons for a product that typically sells for $1.50 in stores. Getting $0.50 off might induce someone to buy the product that has tried it and liked it in the past or wants to try it for the first time. If a store triples that coupon, it would be free. Lots of people that wouldn’t ordinarily redeem that coupon will and their redemption rate will dramatically increase.

        $10,000,000 coupons * 5% redemption rate * $0.50 = $250,000 that this coupon costs the manufacturer.

$10,000,000 coupons * 20% redemption rate because of coupon tripling * $0.50 = $1,000,000 that this coupon costs the manufacturer.

Only a small percentage of coupons are normally redeemed. Coupon doubling and tripling increases that rate.

Now I don’t believe that a manufacturer can legally tell a store to not give a discount if they want to their customers for a product. Price fixing is illegal. If the store wants to reduce the price of that product to $0.50, the manufacturer has no legal say in that. And in the example above, the product would be free without doubling or tripling it.
Harris Teeter and other stores that won’t double/triple coupons that says Do not double or triple on it are doing so in my honest opinion entirely on their own. The manufacturer is just giving them an out so that they don’t have to be out of pocket that money since the store is not reimbursed for doubling or tripling coupons. They expect that many customers will assume that it’s doubling or tripling and will buy the product anyway and won’t realize differenly unless they check their register receipt.
If a manufacturer doesn’t want someone to use it on the trial size, then they can put that on the coupon. I believe that some manufacturers do want customers to try their product and by buying a trial size with a coupon that makes that free they are essentially giving you a free sample of their product. Most people don’t get more than 1 newspaper or have 100 PCs to print out massive amounts of like coupons so they would essentially just be getting a free sample.

Unfortunately some cashiers are ill informed about coupons and are not always willing to conform to the coupon policy of their store.

        • Katie

          Thanks! Never thought of that!

    • Shannon

So BestLife isn’t on sale? If so I need to remove it from my list :(

      • Cindybarlowe

        not at my store ;(

    • Kdn 1612

Hi < I go to HT every week  for the great deals I also have always (stacked coupons) meaning if I have a 1.50 of 3 items and 1.00 of 2  of same item i've used these as recently as last week now all the sudden HT isn't accepting this did I just miss the memo or have I just been lucky with cashiers? Please let me know I was at HT this morning with quit a few items  I woulnd't purchase becouse of this new? policy?
I read the policy when I got home one coupon per item. How long has this been in affect? thanks

      • Shannon

You shouldn’t have ever been able to use 2 Mnf coupons on the same item :-/

      • JL

I am confused about your comment. Were you using the $1.50/3 AND the $1.00/2 for only 3 items? If so, that should have never been allowed and yes you got “lucky” with cashiers. No matter where you shop you can only one manufacture coupon per item(or 2 items) for example if with your senerio $1.50/3 and $1.00/2 you should be buying a total of 5 items. Hope this helps.

      • Guest

It’s not new, you were just lucked that they never noticed your fraudulent usage before. You cannot legitimately stack manufacturers coupons like that. Manufacturers coupons as one per purchase/item, and each coupon applies to the total number of items listed on the coupon, so when you use a coupon for $1/3 along with another for $1/2 on the same group of 3 items, you are violating the terms of the coupon.

Again, this is not new, this is the way it has always been at every single store b/c this is the rule set by the manufacturers that issue the coupons. If someone taught you that stacking Manu coupons like that is okay, that person was wrong.

    • Bowtifan

The Planters nut bars and the cinnamon sugar margarine sure went fast this morning!

      • Anonymous

Both were gone for me before my 630am arrival in store.  About 50 couponers already in store baskets full when I arrived. What was even funnier, at 7am when the lights came on, it signaled to all the shoppers time to checkout.  50 people, 2 cashiers, 2 managers, fun checkout.

    • karen

      thanks jenny

I do not think Classico pasta sauce is in the sale. I can not find it in the ad and it rang up regular price

      • Mike

I am a Grocery manager for Harris Teeter,  I just called the store and confirmed w/ my Scanning manager, that Classico pasta sauce is no longer on sale.  It was on sale for the last 2 weeks, but is now at regular price.  However, Prego, Ragu, and Barrila sauces are on sale.

        • anonymous

Thanks for taking the time to check on this!

          Awesome customer service!

    • kysmom2

Jenny, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

I’m loving HT’S. I load my kids up and drive 25 mins just to shop during these events. I went to day and I’ll go again Sat. or Sunday just to do it over again. ( Have to shop at stores in case one is out). I got $70 of product for less than $15. Yeaaaaaa. Thanks again.

    • Carey

Had a great shopping trip, thanks Jenny!!  Didn’t get there as early as I would have liked b/c of kiddos schedules, but it was still a great trip.  30 something before coupons then $3.78 after, yay!!  Just a note — the Charlotte Rivergate HT did not mark the Greenworks glass cleaner on sale on the shelf (the shelf tag said $3 something), but it is on sale and rings up for $1.85 each!  They just forgot to put up the sale tag for this item, so use your $0.50 greenworks coupon and get glass cleaner for $0.35 :)  So just be on the lookout for that, hopefully you can get that deal too!

      • Lauren

it was not marked at the Brentwood, TN store either, I had her scan it and it was not B1G1 at our store :(

    • Angelascoupons1

Had a great morning shopping today….no major outages (just a few) and no crowds, so I was pleased.  Spent $36 to get $140 in groceries, and not a lot of prepacked stuff…got milk, Silk, yogurt, morning star products, kleenex, etc.  So for folks that think it is all junk, they are just plain wrong!

      • 28086

I got a lot of healthy foods foo.  I did not get any napkins or toothpaste of shampoo.
Silk, Smart Balance items etc. YAY!!

    • Burns2fly

Hey. Me and my wife did our first ever grocery trip using coupons at HT today. We got $141 and after coupons only cost us $74.78. We bought some items not on our list. We are very pleased! Can’t wait until next trip.

    • Ddawson

Harris Teeter in Wilmington,NC they didn’t have special on coke products 6pk. buy one get one,it was 2 for $7,I had them checked.   Debbie

    • Anonymous

Not sure if its been covered, but the Hamburger Helper deal is a money maker.  I had (2) 75cents/3 coupons, tripled to be -4.50 off cost of 6.  Harris Teeter currently has an ecoupon for 80cents/4 which brought total OOP to just 70cents for 6 Hamburger Helpers. On top of that, I got a $2 catalina at checkout.  Happy Shopping

      • Simdinh

Where did you find the hambuger helper deal?  The coupons I had exp on 9/10

        • Anonymous

I had those as well, but I had 2 75cents/3 coupons that expire on 10/08. I believe those came out of Washington post. I buy both WaPo and Va Pilot on Sundays.  They often have same coupons, but some have different values. I believe you should still be able to print the 80cents/4 coupon(just make sure you add the evic coupon to your card).

        • Anonymous

I realized my reply contained very little identifying information in it.  I would guess its a smart source insert from August.  As i havent gotten many newspapers here in September.  I would do a search of the coupon database as that will list the current coupons for an item currently still good and prior to expiration date.

    • Ddawson

My trip to Harris Teeter was GREAT my total was $209,after vic savings andcoupons I paid $99 thats a savings of $110,LOVE IT.Debbie

    • Apgali02

I had trouble with my Vanity Fair napkins Q.  It gave me a beep, the Manager said that their policy is Scan 2 times, If it doesn’t goes thru, they cannot accept it. Tried at another location, same thing happened again.

      • Amy

If it’s the same coupon as I have, it starts wiht a 9 :-(  It won’t double.

      • The vanity fair coupons start with a 9, so they will not double or triple.  I realized that before I checked out, so I put them back.  I just ran out of napkins, so it would have been nice!

        • Candace221

Look for the Waverly ones- they’re free with coupon!

      • AmyQ

My store in Winston Salem, NC was totally cool with this! Mine beeped too, but when they called the manager over she pushed them through AND she made them triple. I didnt realize until now that they started with “9”, but because they were internet coupons, I told the manager that I appreciated her pushing them through because I know that she didnt have to do that. It definitely depends on which store you go to!

    • Lauren

At the Brentwood TN store the Snackwells and Planters Q’s will not triple because they have DND on them..the Waverly napkins were not marked as b1g1, but they did ring up that way so they are free, the Clorox Green however was not marked and would not ring up b1g1… and the Dominos sugar was gone before 7am

    • Etan999

i want to car pool from knoxville to hendersonville  any takers  is it worth the drive..i was thinking i could do 40 tripled  20 for me 20 for my husbands card?

    • Lowes91

I have a ton of coupons that I won’t be using if anyone would like them email me your address at lowes91@ymail..they are for cleaners, baby formula, toothpaste, dog food, beauty, groceries..etc..I hate for them to expire

      • Relenbaas

Awesome, could always use extra coupons.

FYI: My HT is really nice, but even they wouldn’t take the Kashi coupons because the manager said they didn’t have the proper barcode on them. She said sometimes Hillshire Farms coupons are like that too.

      • Bridget

A lot of manufacturer coupons (such as those from Kellogg’s, Kashi, and Hillshire Farms) have a new longer bar code. The registers are supposed to be reset to read them, but not all of them have been yet. Usually, the cashier can get the hand scanner to work on those coupons (but they may not work at all at U-scan). Try again tomorrow!

      • TRACEYKENNETHCRUM

My store took the Kashi in Shelby, NC.

    • Collegecouponers

Wilmington, Nc stores were well stocked and I was really happy that nobody was bumping elbows for free stuff this time :), but – my last two trips I’ve run into some awfullll, awful management. I don’t understand. This woman Sue literally stood there talking to another cashier how she hates couponers and likes putting them in their place. She tried denying my starkist coupon, hefty waverly, and nature valley thins! Walking out she said I’m not allowed to try and get overage for next time.. I told her I knew their policy very well and I wasn’t trying for overage? She said she hates “cheaters”. I had 12 coupons and 2 bags of groceries. really woman..I dont know how to handle it anymore. Customer Service doesn’t care :( totally a bummer because I love Harris Teeter, one of my fav stores. but lately- their management has been really rude. I think they forget customers pay their paychecks sometimes.

      • Ddawson

Which Harris Teeter did u go to,they were nice today at the one on carolina beach rd.The old saying is KILL WITH KINDNESS and I practice that on people like that, they can’t stand it.

        • Collegecouponer

I know everyone that works there and never have had any problems. The normal manager knows me and always comes over to chat- I Love them. But I walked out of there almost in tears. They acted like I was some kind of criminal. Im a college student on a tight budget, and I felt like they were really uncompromising..something I have not experienced with them. I love my regular crew @ HT, whoever she was, was on a power trip. Thank you all for your kind words of wisdom!

      • kysmom2

I’ve heard of this happening to other customers. Depending on how you want to handle it you could call corporate. Give them the store number and cashiers name. I’m confident it would be handled immediately. To paraphrase Jenny when she visited NC “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.”

      • The one off gordon rd and the one in Mayfaire are always very nice. Which one did you go to the one off college? I’ve never been to that one. Sorry It was so bad. I know what that like it happen to me a food lion before.

      • The one off gordon rd and the one in Mayfaire are always very nice. Which one did you go to the one off college? I’ve never been to that one. Sorry It was so bad. I know what that like it happen to me a food lion before.

    • Robyn Ogara

I know I’ve asked this before but I can’t remember the answer… does HT apply overage to your order?

For example the Febreze noticeables warmer is only $3.49 and there is an evic coupon for $3.00 off. I also have a man. coupon for $3.00 off. So would the total $6.00 be taken off?

      • Sam

Only if you bought two items that the coupon applied to, that is the only way you would get more than the listed price applied (in my experience).

      • Anonymous

I did this deal and got an overage. You don’t get an overage from paper coupons, but you do if it results from using the paper with an evic. Goodluck!

      • Just4yall

Yes, I have always gotten overage when I stack mft and evic coupons. But that is where it ends.

    • Dixielee323

Can e-vic coupons be used in combination with manufacturer coupons?  For example, if I load a 50 cent coupon to my card and then use a 50 cent manufacturer coupon, will it take off $1?

      • Robyn Ogara

Yes. You can use both an evic coupon and a man. coupon but remember evic coupons will not double or triple!

    • Jjsmom09

I went to the HT in Greensboro today, and it was great! No crowds, shelves stocked and friendly workers! Thanks for all the tips, Jenny! It was great to be prepared! $90 for only $21! Can’t beat it!

    • Michelle

Ran by this morning before work to pick up a few items I thought were in danger of selling out. I got 4 boxes of stove top stuffing, 4 NV granola thins, and 1 colgate toothpaste (which was on sale but I didn’t have a Q for). Total bill after tax: $4.18. Total amount saved: $19.46! I’ve been off the coupon train for a while so it’s nice to know I still have what it takes ;)

    • Amber

Lots of empty shelves in my Suffolk, Virginia stores this morning. I still got some good deals though. This was my first tripples at Harris Teeter and I gotta say I’m a little bit disappointed. Don’t ge me wrong there are some good deals to be had but it seems like I’ve saved more during super doubles. Maybe my expectations were too high or it’s just an off week for me at Harris Teeter.

      • Anonymous

I was there this morning as well and this was by far the largest turnout I have experienced for a triples/super doubles event. Had to be over fifty shoppers in the store this morning. No Land o Lakes, few other things had been cleared.  But I expected this going in and had a number of backup coupons. Too busy congratulating myself on a good trip before I noticed three of my coupons didnt triple. Oh well, live and learn. As most have said, Sunday is a great day to try and return to get the deals you were looking for. Good luck!!

    • NCjobseeker

Thank you for helping me save so much money!!!

    • I’m so annoyed!  I just got back after a hard day.  Went to HT and almost every deal I wanted had the shelf cleared out.  I don’t clear shelves.  I get one or two items.  It’s incredibly greedy and selfish of people to do that.  Some people live in their own worlds and think about other people, even those you don’t know, is non-existent.

      • Pamgam1

Maybe a lot of people have been at your HT today and only purchased one or two items and HT have not had time to replenish the shelves.  The sale is on until next Tuesday, you still have time to shop.  Be more positive.

        • I’d be more positive if I hadn’t had a long hard day, ya know?  I can’t keep going back everyday…and I can’t get there at 7am either….I’m just tired and grumpy and I have been planning this, had my hopes up…and it fell apart.  I’m disappointed.

          • Cheryl

I noticed some things were out too. but I had lots of coupons with me and I did spend an hour shopping…. but I saved over $50 and spent just $22. The cashier was couteous and the register never dinged once! I am very pleased with the service. So many people are doing coupons, the cashiers really need to be commended! I appreciate them for just showing up for work during this “coupon mania” that we all love so much!!

            • Anonymous

Eventhough its their job, I always thank them for their patience with coupons.  Whenever I hear the “didnt scan ding” I always feel bad as if its some how my fault.  But most, if not all, of my HT cashiers have been awesome, patient and generally very helpful. Thanks HT staff.

          • Goodkristen

Couponing is alot of hard work too. I didn’t want to get up at 7 am to get all the good deals but I knew if I waited and went after work everyone else would get the deals….next time go when it starts and quit crying

          • Irene

Sorry to hear you had a bad trip to HT after a hard day at work. Please, don’t despair, you still have a lot of time.
I had coupons for 60 different products to choose my 20 items, and barely found 20, even bought items that weren’t my 1st choice. I bought 6 Greek yogurts for $2- 3*0.50=.50: 2= 25c each. And 3 bags of Gorton fish sticks for $6.09- 3*0.55=4.26 . 2 Colgate kids toothbrushes $2.99 – 3*.75 = 74c. 4 Pillsbury sweet rolls $4 -3*0.50= 2.50 for 2. These were my 10 coupons out of 20…not very exciting, 30% savings of the total bill.

Maybe you can try to visit the HT on Tue-last day of sales, I usually find a store well-stocked even at 7-8pm. I’m in Maryland.

          • Nita Royal

I do relate, since I have to be at work at 7AM, so always find the shelves cleared by the time I get home from work.  But don’t let it get you down…HT is normally very good at restocking.  By Sunday or Monday, the shelves will be reloaded, and other people will have run out of coupons. (Or they’ll be all stocked up.)  That’s when the shopping gets good for me!

My trip tonight found every deal on my list wiped out, so I just looked for items that weren’t posted here yet, and found a few decent surprises.  Make it a treasure hunt, and see how much you can do own your own – it’s really more rewarding to find my own deals ;-)

          • Anonymous

I also have to be at work at 7am. I learned during Super Doubles that going at night is even better.  I went last night at 7pm. I didn’t even make it down all the aisles before I had my 20 coupons worth. Sure, a lot of things were sold out, which I expected. But there were still plenty of other good triple deals. The store was not crowded like it was the one time when I went at 6;00am. And the guys are out restocking in the evening – they’ll even hand you things out of the big boxes they are unpacking. I am going back again at night.  I got $40+ worth of items and paid $6.

      • susan

I agree with you. these are also the samepeople who are clearing out newspaper boxes after only paying for one!

        • Cheryl

Well, you should pity a person that is taking newspapers they are not paying for. If that’s the case, and I haven’t seen that, then those people might need the coupons more that we do. Pitiful! I’ve learned that a lot of stores have hired security to watch the paper stands so this doesn’t happen. Regardless, don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff. Go shopping and figure out your plan. We all have one! :-)

          • Just4yall

There have been people arrest and charged for stealing newspapers. And I dont agree with that. If they are that desperate they would go get help or just steal the items themselves. Its the same thing really. Its still stealing. They are just being greedy.

      • couponlove

I wish the “shelf clearer” crabbing posts would stop.  People do this everytime and it does nothing but create problems.  You are going to have 200 people telling you they agree with you and 200 people telling you that it is NOT people clearing shelves…the stores don’t have the items and it only takes 2 people to each take 2 of an item on the shelf and POOF none left!  So please stop with these posts!

        • Just4yall

That is not always the case. When I went in this morning someone got 5 of the hand towel deals and the cashier didnt stop her. The computer doesnt stop you at 3 only 20 so if someone comes in and get 10 and the cashier doesnt care than everyone else is out of luck.

          • Kate

Our HT registers don’t let you get more than 3.  The lady in front of me tried it and it wouldn’t let her triple the coupon on the 4th item.  She could still get the normal double coupon on that item if she chose to keep it though.

            • Just4yall

O well I know my store doesnt do that. I have seen it many times. About a month ago there was an older lady getting 20 trail size items at the customer service desk. half of them was the $1 tide she got 10 of them. And they just let her do it. I even asked about it. Was like you going to get in trouble for that and he just shrugged his shoulders.

            • anonymous

I believe the 3 coupon policy only applies to coupons being double, all others will be honored at face value.  So if the coupon was for $1 and it wasn’t super doubles, my understanding of the policy is that is allowed.

            • Just4yall

no the .50 tide coupons being doubled up to $1 when I asked about it and he shrugged he pretty much told me that if the computer takes it, it takes it. Our computers dont stop doubling at 3 it will go all the way up to 20 if the cashiers let it. The cashiers arnt supposed to let it.

            • Shirl

Hey, let’s not start the “thrashing of the cashiers again”. I get great customer service when I shop. Friendly, courteous, and I would never question a cashier about another customer’s transaction. Really, it’s none of your business what other customers do! Maybe we need “hippa grocery laws”… LOL

        • Cheryl

Seriously, chill out! So many people are shopping! Please keep in mind that we still have coupons and sales and triples will come again! Go get what you need and take all your coupons. Don’t fret. Be happy. Save money and just know that if the product you are looking for today isn’t there, it might be tomorrow. Regardless, you’d spend more for it at another store. Right? So just do the best you can and be happy about it. Help your family and your friends the best you can during this tough economy! And don’t forget to thank Jenny for all the work she does to help us all…..

          • CouponFairy

I don’t think you meant to reply to me?  I didn’t say which way I feel about anything, all I said was quit with the posts that start problems.

            • CouponFairy

LOL nevermind my post didn’t even show up!

          • WOW

Well I don’t think she’s doing it for free, I think all coupon bloggers are sitting pretty with all the sponsoring they get, so it’s not like they are doing us “favors” and half the time they have programs that are automatically matching all these up…because as you can see half the time the coupon doesn’t even match the item/size/quantity what have you.

            • JL

Wow you are rude. Si if you go somewhere and recieve a service that someones is getting paid for do you not say Thank you. This is a free web site. If oyu do not like it go somewhere else. I promise you that she works on this and not just programs.

        • anonymous

I have been couponing for 1 1/2 years at HT.  It used to be that I would be 1 of 3 people in the store at 6:30am on Wednesday morning.  Ever since Extreme Couponing aired, the number of people has increased to 20-30 at 6:30am.  Used to be 1 register open, no line.  Now 5 open with lines.  I feel that at least at my HT it is that just more people are couponing vs. clearing shelves.

        • Thank you. It urks me that people gripe about someone elses business. As many times that I’ve purchased 10-20 2liters at full price, not once did anyone complain about how much cash I just laid down for it! Thats why I hold my ground at the register. If they can accept stripper cash, drug money, or Americas’ cash strapped EBT without question, why badger and berate someone trying to save the best way they can?

        • Merbeartrs

Yes, things do go quickly but people are abusing it also. For instance the woman in front of me yesterday had two carts full and went to a cashier who was new and did three separate transactions. I went through the same line and asked the cashier about it and it took her a minute to realize the woman must have had multiple Vic cards. I saw in her carts at least 8 hormel compleats and probably 10 pkgs of sausage. So yes most of us get only a couple and there are more and more couponers every day but I understand it’s very easy to get frustrated when you see people abusing the system and ruining everyone elses trips.

      • Just4yall

I agree with his post aswell though. If every thing was gone it has nothing to do with certain “shelf clearing” people. You are still limited to 20 no matter what you get. So if everything is gone then its gone. None to blame except couponers in general. I have seen husband and wife go in and shop together and check out sep to get 40 doubled or tripled coupons but that is another complete all together.

      • Hahasowhat

There’s a bright side to the shelves being cleared, we get rainchecks : )

    • Cheryl

I stopped by HT on the way home today and used 20 coupons… I got a lot of stuff and only spent $22. Thanks Jenny. You rock!!

      • Candace221

Same here = $19 :) Got plenty of snacks, milk, and cleaners!

    • Flippinfrogs

If you have a coupon like the Bertolli with the new barcodes and they have to hand key ot. i actually don’t think there is a way to make it NOT triple becuse they use a general PLU for “manufacturers coupon”. There is not a separate PLU for dnd this one! lol Only PLU’s for store and manufacturers coupons. Also most HT’s I know are taking the new barcodes as it is a a system issue with reading it not that the coupons is bad.
If you have a bad experience, call the 1-800 on the bottom of your receipt. Store managers live and die by the customer service # !  Also – of your have great experience let them know that too! Good comments are about only about 1 out of every 50 as people never cal to report Good service!

    • Cheryl

I love Harris Teeter regardless of all the gripes! Something good is in this for everyone!

    • Cheryl

My name is Cheryl and I’m the 9/14 HT cheer-leader for the day! Can I get a hi-5 on that????? HT is great and so is Jenny!!

I’m really happy with my HT trips today.  My sister and I both shopped and got a total of $143.76 worth of groceries for $32.11.  We split the items at the end of our trip…great deal for both of us!

    • Just4yall

Anyone every thought about or tried the express lane with coupons during doubles or triples?

      • Nita Royal

Sure, I’ve been through the express lane many times during doubles and triples, when I only have a few items.  No problems.

        • Just4yall

Was just wondering how well it would work with coupons and such. To actually get what you want.

          • Nita Royal

It’s no different than the regular lanes.  They take all coupons, and everything works as normal, just with fewer items.

        • Dacouponqueen

I think Just4yall was referring to using the online shopping service of Express Lane during doubles & triples.

My store (Newport News, VA) said to use coupons with Express Lane you have to take your coupons to the store prior to the order being processed for your coupons to be used because the Express Lane orders are processed in a different system.

That is why I stopped using Express Lane with them. At Farm Fresh, on the other hand, you just show up with your cash and your coupons and they take off you coupons like a normal purchase.

    • Just4yall

I know that the sales start at 7 on Wednesday but after that can you go in any time past 12 the rest of the days and get that days shopping done. Or is there a certain time it resets.

      • Hahasowhat

it takes exactly 24hrs before you can triple another 20 coupons

        • Just4yall

O thanks for letting me know. I was ready to leave in an hour so I didnt have to go tomorrow. Guess I will be waiting now.

          • Wally

You might want to call your local store and double check. I think in the past my coupons reset at midnight. If I’m not mistaken, I think one of the clerks at the store told me the same thing.

          • jan of nc

I called the Wake Forest store with this question during Super Doubles last time and the manager said it resets at midnight every night…

        • Ctrinkle

I just assumed that it reset for the next day at 7:00 a.m. Is is based on when you went in and shopped?  So if I went in at noon today, I can’t get triples tomorrow until after noon?????  That doesn’t seem right.

          • Hahasowhat

Unfortunately, that’s correct. I’ve learned from a past experience. So you have to keep track of when you shop.

          • Reg-ss

No, it resets at 7 am when the registers reset.

        • CarolinaCouponMom

I don’t think that’s correct.  I have used my 20 coupons at 11:45 pm then checked out at 12:05 am and used the next day’s coupons.

      • Lindsay

I asked at my customer service and they said they reset at 6am.  I was concerned because I was doing a shop in the evening, and planned to do my next days in the morning.  she said it wouldn’t be a problem.

    • Doctordj

Just wanted to give my “Thank You”  to the hard working and courteous staff at my HT in Salisbury, NC. The store was busy, since its the only HT we have, but the managers and staff were helpful and patient and seemed to be trying their best to keep restocking whatever they could. Great deals today-good healthy stuff to stock up.

    • Just4yall

Anyone notice that the Campbells condensed soup (chicken noodle or tomato) is on sale for 5/$3 in the ad but not online? what price is it in the store. Because 5/$3 would be a great deal after mft and evic. Will be .20c for 3

      • Dedebug88

It was 5/$3 at my HT in Greensboro, NC. I have noticed a few things are not listed on the Express Lane that are on sale in the store.

    • Nf112777

I don’t think my HT tripled my coupons.  After looking at my receipt, looks as though they were only doubled…Anyone else?

      • kidd1

Someone else had the same problem on one of the other H.T. postings. She had to call and is going back to get it straightened out.

        • Marlyn

I had trouble this morning too.  They are off by about $20 worth of tripled coupons.  I put it on a spreadsheet and I’m going to review it with them when I go back for some more goodies this week.  I called the manager and she said to come and see her and she’s take a look at it.  They are usually pretty good about it – so I hope this all works out. I felt a little down when it didn’t work out this morning and then I got back to my car with my groceries and it wouldn’t start.  It was just one of those days!

      • gapeaches

I had the same problem during doubles.  I called up there and they told me to come back but I just didn’t want to deal with it.  I am not the biggest HT fan as there seems to always be some sort of coupon issues at checkout.  Their reciepts are difficult to read unlike Publix which ring up for the exact price.  So I wouldn’t be surprised if a mistake was made on their end…

      • Alison

It usually shows the first coupon and then the “tripled” amount.  For example the top would show $0.75 coupon and then the first one at the bottom would show $1.50 and not the $0.75 again like it would normally.  What doesn’t your recipe say?  Plus it wouldn’t be if the cost of the item is lower.

    • capricorn77

First time ever writing on a blog….I think I saw this answered somewhere the other day, but after spending an hour looking through the posts I can’t find it, so here goes: Is there some way, other than taking an item up to be scanned, to find out if something is on sale but has no sticker on the shelf stating it is on sale??  I have shopped many times, making my list from Jenny’s, and found many of the items are not actually posted as being on sale at my local HT’s. Thanks for all the hard work! My daughter turned me on to Southern Savers last December and now I check it several times a day!!!

      • Just4yall

Check the Ht express lane online to see if your store has it on sale.

        • capricorn77

Thanks so much!!! I thought it was something to do with the express lane, but NOW I figured out how to do it!!  That’s great!!!  Will save me a lot of aggravation from now on!!!  I print out all these coupons just to get there and find it’s not on sale.

          • Just4yall

            YW

    • Vgreene

I am new at couponing and this is my first triple coupons but I did great at HT in Charlotte Sardis RD I stopped on my way to work they had everything on my list on I was in and out in 20 minutes! They are always nice  there and in Monroe NC

    • Candace221

It has 3 great Digiorno coupons- including two that can be used during
Triples Week at HT.  I found a bunch at my local Charlotte South Tryon
location Wal-mart (and only grabbed two) on the front of the pizza
case…there may be more at other stores as well. Happy hunting!

      • Candace221

The booklet is called the GameDay Playbook- forgot to include name!

    • Neelycoupon

I went to Harris Teeter tonight and can’t remember if I can go back in the morning or do I have to wait 24 hours to use more coupons? I already used 20 today.

      • jan of nc

It resets at midnight.  I called the manager last time there was Super Doubles, just  to be sure.

        • Anonymous

I got all kinds of different answers on the time it resets from my local stores. Last super doubles, I asked the questions on the Harris Teeter facebook wall and they quickly got back to me and said that it is reset by 7am just like the registers for the sale.

      • kysmom2

you can go in the morning after 7.

    • Coupondiva16

Renuzit Air Freshener, 2-7.5 oz adjustables, 15 oz, $1.89.55 off when you buy three (3) Renuzit® Adjustable cones

    • Elizabeth_1073

Will HT accept a 1.00 coupon off for triples or is it strictly up to .99? Thinking I read somewhere, you can “get away” with using a 1.00 coupon for triples week. Thank you!

      • Guest

you can use all of the 1.00 off coupons you want they just wont triple

      • Kerry72nc

they won’t triple but if you use them put them to the bottom so your other q’s will triple and it won’t go against your 20 that they will triple pending they are .99 or less.

    • Coupondiva16

    • Mizmeechie

FYI .55 printable q for Vanity Fair napkins are beeping when first scanned and if your cashier gets it to scan it’s not doubling & .50 printable q for hostess products listed on facebook is not doubling. Plan to go back for refund b/c my total was around 20.00 and those q’s were at least 5.00.
Thank u Jenny for all u do.

      • Jen

I thought the same thing 2 I am returning mine also

      • Deezeetanyab

The printable vanity fair coupons, as well as the ones from inserts begin with a 9 and say DND.  They will not triple, no matter what.

      • Anonymous

My $.50 Hostess coupon did the same thing.  I caught it, it doesn’t say DND, so the cashier had it overrode.

    • Rach3lbu11man

You can use evic Qs and manufacture Q together and the paper Qs will still triple, right??  Just making sure since it is not included here.

      • Kerry72nc

        yes

        • Rach3lbu11man

          thanks!

    • Kerry72nc

The Clorox Green Works Glass & Surface Cleaner-Natural, 32 oz weren’t on sale at my store. It was regular price.. I believe it was $3.49 or $3.69.

      • Jo

Hi, its the clear one that on sell. I accidently picked up the green one also. I am returning it.

      • guest

Mine wasn’t marked…the clear one, but it rank up as shown above…got 3 @ 34 cents each.  Whoo-hoo!

    • Kerry72nc

The Kashi frozen entrees are still on sale at my store B1G1F so if you still have the .75/1 IPs they will be free. However, I noticed they have printed “only one per visit” on them. So I just rang my two up separately. Great deal since they are $4.35 each.. yikes.

    • KS02211

I’ve never shopped at Harris Teeter, but I plan on making a trip soon for the triples. I was wondering if someone could explain how they do their BOGOs with the triple event? Can I buy 2 items on sale BOGO and use two manufacturer coupons and both with be trippled? Thanks for your help! =)

      • Kerry72nc

yes but only a total of 3 mq’s and 2 IPs for like items.

        • Katsnookie

are both items for a BOGO rang up half price like Publix does?

          • racecitymom

            yes

    • Mamatutu

Did anyone in Salisbury go this morning?  Just wondering what the shelves look like…  I usually skip Thursday and head back again on Friday morning. I might go today if it still looks full, though.  I just love triples week!   :-)

      • Doctordj

went to our Salsibury HT at 730am-lots of stuff out but several guys restocking also, so you might get some good buys this evening. I’m waiting for the weekend e-vic specials tomorrow. Hope Sunday’s special is good, too!

    • Shannon

Anyone been to the Belle Meade,TN store? Planning a trip there in the morning, 45 minute drive, hoping they have everything I want/need!

      • Romy

A lot of the stuff for which I had coupons was sold out today – in both HT stores in the Belle Meade/Hillsboro area. Frustrating, but there’s nothing you can do. I’m just glad they triple stuff to begin with :)

    • Amanda

I went to a different HT than I usually go to today & they wouldn’t multiply 5 of my 11 coupons (i.e Planters Nut-rition, Iron Kids bread) b/c they said Do Not Double on the top (even though they started with a 5). I have never had this problem before. She wouldn’t even scan the coupon b/c they would have automatically tripled. She said “we are not suppose to do that & I’m not going to get in trouble over it”. It was frustrating.

      • Anonymous

Please do not be mad at a cashier for doing his or her job.  They have been recently instructed to be aware of coupons that say “Do not double” so the cashier noticing means they are doing their job well.  It sucks for us couponers, but the coupon states “do not double” when I see that, I assume face value of the coupon.  Something else I’ve started doing recently is finding internet coupons for the same item that will double.  And that way I can use my DND for face value after I get all my other doubles used.  but policy is policy, just try to adhere to the rules, even if you’re used to doing it a certain way.

        • Shirl

If it says “do not double”, does that mean do not triple? I have coupons that say do not double or triple… but I don’t think do not double means do not triple. :-)

          • Yazpistachio

Lol, now we are arguing semantics!

      • guest

What is frustrating about a cashier following the rules? The wording on the coupon is clear, you know how to read, so what’s the problem?

        • Amanda

You don’t have to be rude. I was very polite to the cashier. I can read very well. I was just trying to inform people that the Planter’s Nut-rition would not be .25 cents  & a few of the other coupon match-ups listed on this site may not work because of it.

        • Kcwalters70

Maybe I am wrong b/c I really have no clue, I just always “assumed” that stores that “doubled” coupons as part of their advertising ate the cost of the double…like if a Tide coupon is .50 and HT doubles it for 1.00, that HT is eating the cost of the 2nd .50, not Proctor & Gamble…therefore I never considered myself “cheating” the system…I mean, it’s the store advertising the doubles…not the coupon or the company on the coupon…the majority of my coupons say “do not double or triple”..therefore if HT stops doubling, then couponing will no longer really be worth my time…I’ll just take my coupons to whatever store is running the best sale…

      • Kcwalters70

Well, if that’s the new policy, then couponing won’t be worth my time anymore b/c most of my coupons say that…I primarily “coupon” at HT b/c of their doubling policy and occasional “triple” and “super double”…I’ll see how today goes…thanks for the heads up! Have a good day….

        • Sarah

          It’s not a new policy…

        • EB6

It has been a policy for a long time – just some stores enforce it more strongly than others. The cashiers that pull out the coupons and not doubling the DND5 coupons are just doing their job according to HT policy.

    • Anonymous

Just wanted to encouarge everyone to go to Harris Teeter’s website and send them a “thank-you” email for doing triples.  Maybe if we all do this it will encourage corporate to do triples more often.  It literally took me 2 mins.  Just go to their website, click on “contact us” at the top and fill in the form.

    • Pamperedprice

I’m getting very frustrated with numerous people posting that their coupon (that clearly states “do not double/triple”) was pulled out and manually entered by the cashier. Why are you complaing about these men and women doing their job? I know we are all trying to save money but to be made because you were not able to cheat the system? Really? How about some comments like “had an awesome cashier today at HT, they did their job the way it should be done”. If more people continue to fraud using coupons, companies are going to stop accepting the coupons.

I have been to our New Bern, NC location yesterday and today and both times had really awesome cashiers who went through my coupons and knew the rules. I had already pulled my Muellers coupons and put them with my 1.00 coupons because they say DO NOT DOUBLE.

Long story short…stop compaining about having to follow the rules.

      • shelle2

i agree….but i just started couponin like a 2 months ago…a lady at HT said even if it said do not double…if it begins with a “5” it will…but if it begins with a “9” it dont. Like you i sorted out the do not double coupons away…but missed one and i tried it out and it worked… but regredless ppl shouldnt be mad about that.

        • Guest

Yes, they sometimes do double even though they say not to. however, when i noticed mine doubling (planters pb) i said something and they undoubled it. would you do that? I just started couponing a few months ago and at first i would not have said anything, but honestly, it does not feel as good to get a great deal if it is not legitimate. i get such a high when i score a a great deal, the right way.does anyone else agree??

          • shelle2

i would. i just tried it out justto see if it was true…..im just just really trying to understand the rule…cuz it seem to have some fine lines on somethings…n exceptions. just want to do it the right way.

    • Krysten426

My harris teeter is 30 minutes away and i have the hardest time picking 20 coupons to use! I have to go about every other day! Haha! Savings is soo worth it! does anyone else have this problem?

      • Cheryl

I do.. I take my lists and a couple envelopes of coupons and walk the aisles and when I see something I need that I might have a coupon for I get it… I count my coupons to see how many I have and then I finish up with 20. Today, I saved over $60 and spent $24. And then I got the cashier to ring up my little dogs treat that were BOGO and I had 2-$1 coupons so I got him 2 big boxes of treats for about $3. Naturally he was sniffing the air when I came in…  Thanks Jenny for this free website!! You rock!!

      • Heatherematthews

I also go 30 min to get to my HT well worth it!!!

      • Just4yall

Yes I am about that far way too. And have way to many coupons than days of shopping. So far I have been letting the empty shelves do the deciding on what coupons I use. I plan on going everyday this week and hope I can make it until next months doubles before I have to go shopping again. I have only been couponing full time about 4 months Sorta. So I dont have a good stock of food yet.

    • Sarah

A plea, from a HT cashier (and coupon user) to my fellow coupon users:

Please do not be nasty to the employees if your store is out of something you want. Yesterday I saw a woman berating a dairy/frozen stock boy because we didn’t have any more Krunchers chips. She was very rude about it & didn’t seem to realize (or care) that he had nothing to do with that department or what items get ordered.

Remember, Harris Teeter is not required to offer special promotions like triples. Yes, it can be very frustrating when things are out of stock…but acting like a spoiled child is not going to encourage better ordering practices.

      • Clemonsclan05

We are absolutely BLESSED in this country to have the vast array of food options that we have…and then to top that WITH coupons !!!   Anyone with attitude about an empty shelf hasn’t seen those shelves empty due to hard times and desperate people.  Be thankful — and humble.  :)

    • Vlwallac

quick question, cat treats are $1.25 each and i have a $.75/2 coupon.  will this coupon triple up to $2.25 since i have to buy 2 items to use it?  or will it only triple up to $1.25, the full value of 1 item?

      • Clemonsclan05

It will triple to $2.25, providing you do buy both.  :)

      • shirl

You have to buy two. It will triple to $2.25. That mean you get two for a total of .25. Good deal.

    • Just4yall

Ok, so here is what I found out today about vic cards and triple double resetting. I had had several people say different things so I called my store to ask and they told me you can use it once every 24 hour period. But that left me confused. Is the 24 hour period from 12am to 1159 the next night. Except for the first day because the sales start at 7. Or is it 7am to 650 because the sales all ways start at 7 or is it use your card 24 hours after you use your card last. They had no idea. They just knew 24 hours.

This is what was suggested to me.. So for anyone who has the same question can do the same thing.

You can, over the phone, give them your vic card number to see if your card has been used to often. So if you are awake call at 12am and then 7am to see if your card has reset. If not then it is 24 hours after you used your card last.

      • Michelle

I know I’ve gone at 6pm and the next day at 6am and my card worked so it must be same day.

      • EB6

I too got several different interpretations of what “every 24 hours” means by my local stores. I finally asked the question on Harris Teeter’s facebook wall and they answered me quickly saying that your coupon limit is reset every day when the registers reset which is by 7 am (just like the sales start at 7am).

    • Skyangel Faith

Quick question. Is the coupon limit of 20/day the total number of coupons allowed per day or is that just the number they will triple each day???

      • anonymous

Just the number that will triple.

        • Skyangel Faith

thanks! so the first 20 i give should be the .99 and under coupons then anything i have that’s $1 or more off will still be honored? sorry, just want to be clear before i go in. and, btw, just for the record… my cashiers at the Rosedale HT in Huntersville are AWESOME!!!

          • Nita Royal

If they’re $1 or higher, they won’t triple anyway, so the order doesn’t really matter.

    • Gemmi012

I was at HT today and everyone in the store, including the customers, were so friendly. I had conversations with 2 or 3 other customers as I was shopping (which hardly ever happens) and everyone had their coupons. Everyone was patient if they were looking for something to use their coupon for. It was like, we are all in this together, let’s make the best of it! What a great shopping experience! God bless those cashiers, they are excellent!

    • Cheryl

I saved another $60 today, including sales, freebies, evics and coupons! Got lots of great deals! Very pleased with my shopping experience. Went to HT at Cotswold here in Charlotte and stopped by the Customer Svce desk to ask a question about couponing (they do have all your answers)… and that employee should get a GEM (going the extra mile). Thank you Harris Teeter!! You are my favorite store. BTW, can I got a free ice cream cake for posting this????  LOL, J/K!! But my son did buy my birthday ice cream cake at HT!  :-)

    • qdude

Tired….but good trip.  Got $278 for $73.  Got to love triples!

    • Kcwalters70

Anyone else having trouble with E-vic coupons not saving?  I’ve never had trouble before, but have tried about 3 days in a row now and they all say “failed to save, try again later.”  I’m wondering if they disabled it during Triple week…

      • Jenn

This has happened to me before and it’s because you have too many saved…I think they only let you save something like 75.  I usually just don’t save the ones I know I won’t use.  You can unsave coupons by clicking “my saved coupons” at the top and go in and unsave ones you won’t be using.  Then, after your trip, you can resave them if you want.

        • Kcwalters70

          Will try…Thanks so much!!!

        • Kcwalters70

          Thanks Jenn, that totally worked!…

    • Michelle

I don’t know if this is all Harris Teeters but I went to the one on Harding here in Nashville  and they gave me a $10 off coupon at the front desk. I had to ask for it. A fellow couponer in the store told me about it.
      Good luck Michelle

    • Kim

I have a question about e-vic.  I’ve read that some people say that to use it and then come back to resave it again.  I’ve used the .50 off coupon for Campbell’s soup and wanted to use it again, but I can not find it listed anymore.  Why is that and can anyone pls help me?  TIA!

      • Anon

They don’t always reload.  Only on occasion does that happen.

      • Anonymous

I have had mixed results with this.  The Lucky Charms bars had a 50 cent off one coupon on the evic coupons.  When I bought two, had two manufacturers coupons, and the evic coupon doubled(doubled from use on two, not doubling on one item).  And then yesterday, I tried to do the same with the cascade action pacs, and the evic coupon went for one, but not the other.  If its on the same shopping trip, some seem to just go with the number of items you have, but I’ve found that more often then not you have to renew the coupon(if it hasnt expired).

Speaking of which, the evic coupon of $1.00 off Crest Pro Rinse Health and a 75cent coupon manufacturers combine nicely for a bottle for .25 cents.

    • Anonymous

I was at HT in Greenville, NC (the one at Charles and 14th) on Wednesday and had an unpleasant experience.  I was trying to buy 3 packages of Perdue Short Cuts and use 3x 1.50/1 coupons.  The top of the coupon said Manufacturer’s Coupon but over in the right hand corner there was a Kroger logo.  The cashier said “they won’t scan because their Kroger coupons” and I responded “they’re actually manufacturer’s but sometimes they have to input them manually when they won’t scan.” I have used these coupons multiple times as they run about every 3 months.  The cashier didn’t seem to want to try anything else and I wasn’t backing down either.  So someone higher up the chain was called over and when he couldn’t get them to scan he explained they were competitors coupons and they only take like $5/$25 purchase when its a competitors coupon.  I fought my hardest to make him see he was wrong and he just kept apologizing.  I said “well you’re obviously not sorry because you’re not doing anything about it.” He then said “I can’t break policy sir.”  Even though he just did by not accepting a manufacturer’s coupon.  So anyway I made the purchase without the coupon and went home to call corporate.  Corporate sided with me and then called the store on my behalf to update them on their own policy.  I then called the store back and asked to speak with the same guy who had refused my coupon earlier and explained what corporate had said.  He apologized again saying that the policy changes every 2 months which i don’t excuse because if i know it as a customer you should certainly know it as an upper-level employee of the store.  Corporate said I may take my receipt and coupons back to the store for a refund.  I say all this not to brag about winning but to let fellow coupons know that it pays to know your policy and not back down when YOU KNOW YOU’RE RIGHT!  There is ALWAYS someone higher up the chain that you can speak to so don’t give up because John Doe at register 7 doesn’t know his stuff.  Good luck to all and in defense of the store it was the beginning of triples so they had alot going on and 99% of the time this store is great.

      • Heather Hewlett

I had a similar experience with a manufacturers catalina coupon that printed out with the target logo. I tried to use it at Wal-Mart. I was surprised that the register didn’t just accept it. After many visits back and forth with the manager who was running the jewelery counter, I stuck to my guns and got my $5 off 2 Revlon items discount!

Do others experience the same issue where the register at the store that did not generate a catalina will not accept the coupon?

Does anyone know – is there still a HT on Roswell Rd in Marietta, GA?  The HT website store locator isn’t working for me at the moment.  Don’t want to drive around for nothing if it closed.

      • Gloria9898

Here is the phone number that is listed.(770) 579-5770

    • waiting patiently…

has anyone received an email about the HT e-vic specials for this week? I usually get one on Friday, but it hasn’t shown up yet. Thanks!

      • Anonymous

I did not get one either and was wondering why.

      • Just4yall

I got one. I didnt not get one last week though. I guess there are no specials for you this week.

      • Couponclipper01

        Yes, I received my email

      • waiting patiently…

just got mine..even though it was sent at 12:18 am…weird. Thanks to those who replied.

        • Yazpistachio

Yes, mine didn’t come until 1 am!

      • Cheryl

I got one. I stopped by and asked a cashier today how I could see what was on my evic alert.. she rang my card up at the register, read to me my deals, and gave me the register slip!… what a good cashier at HT, Sardis Rd, Charlotte, NC… she went the extra mile!!

    • Guest

FYI- If you are using the .80/4 Green Giant frozen veggie coupon, it does not ring up correctly. It only takes off $1.25 (the price of 1 product) instead of $2.40. I’ve had to go to customer service each time. Each time they try to tell me the can’t give me overage and each time I have to tell them that the coupon is off of 4 products so there is no overage.
Also, remember to watch as they ring up your 20 coupons. Each time I’ve gone, they missed a coupon.

      • Just4yall

That is just what I was about to say. I got 4 the other day so will have to go back and get my money back for it but I just caught it today when that is all I got. Got 8       used 2 coupons and saw 80 multiply .45  was like wait a minute. They said it had something to do with the new coupon codes. So double check your coupons!!!

        • shirl

mine didnt triple either and i got 4, i think its the “all you”. im not buying that magazine again. only bought it once, dont really care for it. but i like the product even if the coupon didnt work properly. i pulled my coupns out from that mag… not going to bother with those!

      • Tamra

I always keep count, and it paid off on the last Super Doubles. The cashier at the self checkout lane only scanned 17 instead of 20 coupons. I brought that to her attention. She responded by asking me if I wanted her to look for the ones she missed, and it would take her about 5 minutes. Of course, I said yes. She rolled her eyes at me, and I could tell that she was not happy. I responded kindly and by the end she was all smiles.

      • I just checked my receipt and I see 80 cents three times. I’m sure it was the only 80 cent coupon, so no problem at my store.

      • Twellwoman

I had the same problem, so I returned mine.  I’m not sure if I even loved the deal at 60 cents/ box, but I really didn’t love just getting one free!  However, it made me wonder if I had just bought *one,* would I have just gotten it free with that coupon?

    • Kim

WoW, my personal BEST shopping trip ever at HT or anywhere else…I think!!  I spent $46.42 but only paid $1.15 OOP.  I got 18 items for FREE and only had to pay for the tax!!!  As I’m driving home I’m thinking to myself the store must have made some kind of mistake, until I got home to look over my receipt.  Oh man!  I don’t know if I can do it again, even if I tried.  I’m not an extreme couponer by any means, so getting the right coupons for what my family uses was a challenge.  This is awesome!  Thanks for letting me squeal alittle…lol.  p.s. the store I was at was really crowded, they had to call for “all available cashiers to the front”.

    • Curverygurl

This morning I tried to used 2 Campbells coupons for Chicken Noodle and Tomato soup only and 2 for Campbells condensed soup excluding chicken noodle and tomato. They wouldn’t let me use them saying I can only use 3 coupons for the same product. I showed them that they are obviously different coupons for 2 different products (one stated that it excluded the other product). The manager came over and said I couldn’t use them because they were all Campbells brand (even though they are different products). What??? So if I got Campbells vegetable juice and Campbells soup, I couldn’t use 2 coupons on each product because they have the same name brand? Does that sound right? It doesn’t to me. I argued and the manager came back and let me do it “this time”. I think I’m right and they’re wrong. Period.  :)

      • loven shoppen

Wow, I never have problems with HT taking my coupons. If I get a ding on seldon occasions, the MIC (man in charge) comes over and scans it. I love the cashiers, who do make errors on occasion (we all do).. and customer service is excellent. I go to all the Harris Teeter stores here in Charlotte and I cannot complain. I have my special favorites at the various stores… Stop by the service desk and ask your questions before you shop. They do have all the answers. HT is my favorite store!! “loven shoppen”

      • Just4yall

I have never had this problem either but it all depends on the store. My store pretty much doesnt care unless it dings.BUT This is what the coupon policy states….We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; additional coupons for like item will be honored at face value. Like items include all flavors…..

        • Curverygurl

Absolutely. I know exactly what the policy reads. I never want to look stupid at the checkout! :) BUT I was trying to use totally different coupons for totally different products, not just different flavors. I tried to use 2 coupons for.30 off 4 cans of chicken noodle or tomato soup only.  And 2 coupons for .40 off 3 cans of condensed soup EXCLUDING chicken noodle or tomato. Totally different coupons.

          • Just4yall

Yes I know but the coupon policy doesn’t say accept 3 like coupons it says they will accept coupons for 3 like items and that included flavors. Campbells condensed soup is Campbells condensed soup. Just different kinds. Which is the flavor part. Your store probably has a more strict manager. Its a YMMV situation.

      • Jessica

Sounds like they were just being jerks.  My favorite cashier at my Teeter isn’t unreasonable like that.  Obviously they can’t read!

    • Heatherematthews

Muddy buddies chex mix are not free :( they end up being over 2 dollars. Just thought I would give evreyone a heads up.

    • Cheryl

seems everyone asks how long you have to wait after going once to use your coupons again.. I asked at the customer service desk (you really should, they have the answers)… I told them I checked out yesterday at about 5:30 pm and I was there today around noon. they had never heard that question before it appeared and said it was just the next day… not a problem for me. I got my triples. I always got my doubles in the past. The lady at the desk just said, “it’s the next day”.. I think it must have to be the next “calendar day”.. that you shop. that really does seem logical regarding a computer keeping track of all the vic cards. It’s the calendar day yall!

    • blovescoupons

Just got back from the Albemarle, NC Harris Teeter, and of course they were out of EVERY single item on all 3 lists that were cheap or free. Talked to one of the managers, to see if they were getting a truck tonight.  He said yes, but that after looking at the out of stock report and matching it to the coupon items, he smugly stated that 99% of the items would NOT be back in stock until well after the sale was over.  Store manager Dan Nantz does not know how to run this store for in stock.  They are always out of sale items, and most of the coupon items I go in for.  Domino sugar has been out every time that I have gone in for the past 5 weeks.  I have a lot of rainchecks, but what is the good in having them if they never reorder?  What a waste of my time to go over there.

      • guest

The store manager has no control over the warehouse. Many items are OOS at the warehouse and will not be delivered, although tthe store IS ordering the items. Don’t blame the manager and don’t assume they never reorder. Don’t waste your time – more for people who understand that during events many items won’t be in stock.

      • Guest

Dan Nantz is terribe, I agree with you on that! Hopefully they will restock before the sale is over.

    • Andrea

Okay I am a new couponer and I just have to share my excitement- I went to HT today and among my items I got 20 jars of Prego Pasta Sauce for $0.29each and 10 packs of pasta free!  I was so proud of myself.  My circular had the Prego coupon “Buy 2 jars get 1 pack Muellers pasta free up to 1.75”.  Other circulars had “0.75 off 2 Prego jars” – I ordered 10 of this coupon off the interenet at .10cents each.  They came yesterday so I used both at the store today and scored!  The pasta was 1.25 but the manager gave me the entire 1.75 credit for each so I made money on those which offset the 2.29cents for the Prego pasta.  We are set for pasta for a good long while.

I am loving triple coupons – will be going back to the store for more tomorrow.

      • CouponFairy

How did you score the 20 jars of Prego for .29 each?

        • Andrea

Ok – after looking at it a little more closely I think I paid 61cents for each item.

4.58 for 2 jars of sauce
          1.25 for 1 box pasta
          -2.25 for 2 jars of sauce (75cents off 2)
-1.75 for 1 box of pasta (buy 2 prego get pasta free up to 1.75 – manager gave me full amount)
          so I paid 1.83 for all 3items.

Still a good deal.  I did my math wrong before.

I also had 75cents of 3 Hamburger Helper that tripled.  I used two coupons and bought 6 for 25cents a box and received a $2.00 off coupon on my next meat purchase.  I was going to go back tomorrow to get more – but I lost my other coupons!  :(  I guess I dropped them in the store.  Hopefully someone will find them and realize the good deal.

          • CouponFairy

Good deal!  I thought you had meant that you got 20 jars and I was thinking how on earth did they let you get that many LOL.  I always get TONS of pasta for free…but it’s so hard to come by deals for the sauce!

    • CarolinaCouponMom

I just had my best trip ever at Harris Teeter.  Saved $86.20 spent .82!!

3 Boxes of Lindy’s Italian Ice
      3 Kruncher chips
      3 Spray N Wash
      2 Dannon Greek Yogurts
      6 Campbells Chunky Bowls
      3 Campbells Cream of Mushroom
      1 Hormel Spaghetti
      6 Magic Shell
      4 Pace Picante

I used 1 coupon per item and two CVS Extra Bucks (1 for $10 and 1 for $6.79).

My total was negative .24 so I had to buy a Reese’s Cup to make the total positive.  That was a first for me.  Great day in Durham!

      • Lilasavings

You can use CVS extra bucks at HT?

        • Tamra

Yes, along with Walgreen’s RR and Rite Aid’s UPs.

          • Mywolfubs3

            i did not kinow that

        • Nita Royal

That varies by store.  Mine used to take RRs, but stopped that months ago.

        • Guest

The manager at the store I shop at said that only a HT that has a pharmacy will take EBs, RRs, etc., those locations that do not have a pharmacy will not take those.

    • Anonymous

what is the price in the parentheses?

      • CarolinaCouponMom

The price of one item if you choose to only purchase one of the buy one get one items.

    • Guest

I went around 2am (yea night owl) hoping that they would have restocked most items for my first try. However, most of the items I was going for were either out of stock or a different price than what was listed. Only things I got were the frozen vegetables, edge shave gel, skintimate shave gel, and softsoap. Whoop-de-doo I could have gotten most of that at CVS for free too lol. Not sure of any other “good” time to go in order to get better options. I agree with some other people that it seems as though they purposely dont restock certain things, because they had stockers in every aisle and I didnt see any of the items in the boxes either. Oh well, not blaming anyone I just probably wont bother the next time

      • Cheryl

They re-stock when the trucks come in, especially when they have this coupon mania going on. Did you ask the stockers in the aisle or go to the customer service desk? Conponing is a lot of work period. Don’t blame it on the store if you didn’t ask the customer service desk for assistance. They are there and they do provide all the answers! I always stop by the service desk and ask them my questions. Otherwise, I’d get a dozen different answers from the other folks. Harris Teeter wants you to get the product you are looking for. Keep that in mind. They do want to service the shoppers. Such nice people. Just don’t go in with an attitude problem as some people do….  Happy Shopping!!

      • Lovecoupons

I totally feel the same way, however when you have 1 couponer going in and getting 20 pasta sauces there is no way they can supply for everyone.  I usually just get one of the deals – and feel lucky to do that.  Stores are going to have to limit the number of “deals” one person can get so that they can supply for all.

        • Tamra

Their policy is three like coupons. So that should limit them to three pasta sauces. If their buying twenty, then the workers don’t know or care about the store policy.

          • anonymous

Isn’t it 3 like coupons double, the rest are redeemed at face value?

      • Sarah

As an HT employee, I can guarantee you we do NOT purposely avoid stocking certain things –  not ever, for any reason. Although it can be frustrating during a promotion like triples when it seems like the shelves are always empty, trust me…they are ordering everything they can as fast as they can. Whether or not it comes in before the promotion is over, or at a time that is convenient for you, is not up to them.

    • Tara0872

Triple and double couponing at HT is a real pain. Every time I get the chance to go (I work f/t) they have NOTHING left after the first day and every day I come back hoping they are restocked because I was told they would be getting a truck every night and still the only thing restocked was the planters peanut butter. The manager said the warehouse was the problem…especially on coupon items..the warehouse was running out so they don’t know what they will get.   They should limit people to how much they can get because some people are just plain greedy. I’m a single mom I need all the help I can get and this is very discouraging.

      • Nita Royal

By policy, they do limit people – multiplying only 20/day, and 3 like coupons.  Now, I’m sure that there are people using multiple cards and finding other ways to scam the system – someone always does!  But don’t be discouraged…just get creative.

On the first couple of days, don’t just focus on the free and almost-free items.  Face it, once a deal is posted on this site, you can expect those items to disappear. Look for things that you really need and use, and get the best deals that you can.   This week, I’m not getting out of the store for pennies, but I’m also not stocking up on items that will just sit around.  I’m saving 75-80% on things we use regularly. So it’s worth spending a little time really looking at the merchandise, not just this site and the sale paper.  Stick with it, and you’ll get results!

      • Twellwoman

You have to plan multiple trips in order to get the great deals, and check at different times of the day/ week.  Sometimes the _vendors_ send reps out to restock, not just the store.  For instance, I went Wednesday & a lot of things were gone, but I went back Thursday & they had restocked the Aquafresh & the Dawn & Purex huge jugs that were BOGO. Then I went back Saturday afternoon while everyone else was watching football & there was a Planter’s/Snackwell guy there restocking all the granola bars, so I was able to get 2 of those Nut-ricion bars for 25 cents too. They are trying to keep up with the demand.  I don’t think I’m greedy, but I am persistent!  If I can get things for free/ super cheap I am going to try a couple times if one store has sold out.  Keep at it & don’t get discouraged just because you missed it the first time!  :-)

    • Wsult3

I just wanted to give a shout out to my Winston-Salem HT cashiers. I appreciate the professionalism and smiles I am greeted by each time I visit the Peace Haven and Robinhood Road locations! They make getting the deals even more pleasurable.

      • Linda

I feel the same way about the store in Winston Salem, at Thruway!! They are the best! Thanks to the Managers, cashiers and the stock people!! They are also very eager to help and are very professional!! Thanks again for everything you do!!

      • Yazpistachio

I’d like to thank the HT in Waxhaw, NC– I went this morning and they must have just re-stocked. I found everything I needed, which is unusual for a second trip during Triples week.

Even the younger cashiers were friendly and helpful. Great job!

      • Kcwalters70

And I in turn would like to give a shout-out to my Kernersville store! Love me some HT!!

      • Karawtn

My cashiers at the HT in Mountain Island (Charlotte NC) have NEVER given me anything buy smiles and positivity.  I have even had CSM’s tell me that they welcome familiar couponers faces and look forward to them shopping each week.  I will ALWAYS take all my business there for non-coupon related purchases for this reason.  Other managers should take notice, because most of us spend a little money on other purchases not just coupons (meat, produce, etc.) and lose a lot of business by turning their noses up at us.  Thanks again Mountain Island!!

        • Karawtn

Sorry, meant “but” instead of “buy”.

    • Ellura

Question: I have two .75 cents off of two Pasta Sauce coupons. If I buy two sauces can I use both coupons of just one.

      • Nita Royal

If it says to buy 2 per coupon, that’s what you must do.  You’d have to buy 4 sauces to use  2 coupons.

    • Nita Royal

Just a heads up that some e-vic coupons did not work for me today.  I normally watch them, but the new cashier and my husband were both distracting me so I didn’t notice until I got home.  Truvia (40 ct), Nesquik, and Campbell’s soup.  Some others did work, so not sure what happened.

      • Twellwoman

Look through your Evics again.  I was irked that my Truvia didn’t come off too, but when I looked through mine, I saw that the Evic was only for 80 ct. & I bought 40ct. Maybe yours was the same?

    • Kcwalters70

Went to my local HT store yday…all my coupons tripled…I even got praise from the cashier for what savings I had ($125…$84 after VIC card…then $37 after coupons)…I did not separate the ones that said “do not double/triple”…HT advertises that they double/triple coupons…it’s their choice…just like some stores take competitor’s coupons…like I said in a previous post, it’s my understanding that stores that double/triple eat the cost of the double/triple, not the company on the coupon, so I’m not really understanding why people do not want their coupons doubled/tripled just b/c the coupons say…I don’t want to cheat anyone either, but I never thought I was…is there some proof that we are cheating b/c a store, on their own, chooses to double/triple a coupon? I’m just curious…not looking for a fight…thanks & happy couponing!

    • Fluterspaige

Wow…. what happened at my Reston Harris Teeter today? None of my evics registered. I had to go to customer service and then manually calculate my own amount due only to have the mgr question my issue with a sour face. Five customers behind me were all holding their questionable receipts. Then got home to find that I wasn’t credited for a BOGO. just venting :). THANK YOU JENNY FOR REMINDING ME TO TAKE THE HARRIS TEETER COUPON POLICY…. you are a genius.

    • lisa

One of my e-vic coupons did not come off yesterday, either.  In Hendersonville, NC the cashier pulled out all of the coupons that said do not double and manually entered them – to not triple.  I asked the lady at the service desk what the policy was and she could not give me a straight answer – went the day before and they let everything triple and did not pull out any coupons.  It would be nice to know what the policy is, so I can prepare before I go to the register.

      • Helpmom2011

All e-vic coupons do not double or triple, but you can combine it with a manufacturers coupon. So the Nature Vally bars were free with the manufactures and e-vic coupons.

      • Brooke

this is where I shop.. was this an older lady with blonde hair? She did the same to me.. most of the people there are wonderful but I def. know which cashiers to go to and which to not.I don’t understand coupons not tripling.. because the store covers the cost of the tripling not the manufacturer’s so why even run these events when you aren’t going to honor them… However, There is a younger heavier boy who is great, a young dark haired girl, a dark haired (kinda short) and kinda heavy woman (maybe in her late 40’s), as well as a black asst manager and a young boy manager who are all so great. No problem with anything. The main manager though, Ken is a complete jerk. I’ve actually complained to corporate about his rudeness and lack of customer service!

        • lisa

Good for you for complaining.  This girl was young, short and dark short hair.  She runs around with the key sometimes and she has been very rude before – when they charged me wrong for something – she refused to fix it.  I should have complain to corporate about her.  I got charged wrong for bread one time and she argued and would not refund the difference.

    • shirl

how much is the purex 128 oz, bogo?

      • Helpmom2011

        11.98

        • shirl

          for one?

          • TAS504

It’s $11.98 for one before the sale price…~$6 for one after the bogo. We had a $2 off coupon, so we ended up getting it for just under $4.

    • Anonymous

I have had an awesome week so far.  Not everything went through, not everything went perfectly.  I did not find everything that I was looking for in every trip.  There are still things that I cannot find.

But overall, I am so fortunate to have so many HTs in my area and that I can have the opportunity to save so much $$s.  RIght now, the eggs that I got on the evic are cooling.  I boiled some of them for quick breakfasts next week, deviled eggs and to use in salads.  That’s a lot for $1.77.

Before I learned about couponing and this site, I would have spent 90 bucks easily on a Sunday shopping trip.  Now, I rarely get over 40 bucks unless I buy beer.   I can’t wait for more coupons to come out tomorrow so I can plan another “round of 20”.  Couponing is the best thing since sliced bread… which (thanks to triples) is only 34 cent a loaf this week!

    • Mywolfcubs3

i was so happy with this trip to harris teeter for the triples. Every other time i have gone and tried half of the items that i wanted was sold out. This time, i got there when the doors opened and got EVERYTHING on my list:) my mother in law watched my kids for me which helped a lot. I did mine and her shopping all at once. she met me there with the kids and we seperated the items she wanted from what i wanted. All together we had a total of $157 in items and only paid $27 all together!! Didnt make it out paying change but very happy with the saving!!!!! I love this site.. thanks for the work I know goes into running it!!

    • Rach3lbu11man

Do they limit to only three coupons for the same item per trip or per week/sale???

      • Margoren

        Per trip.

    • Alison

Two closeouts I found, Crest Whitening expressions toothpaste ~$2.30 used a .75/1 printable and $1.00 evic, YEA!! Also Carmex strawberry was marked down to $1.27 and used the .30/1 printable from earlier this month (not as great but still a useful item.) Also my store gave me a $10 off $40 purchase coupon at the customer service desk, good through 9/20. They said they didn’t mail these out, they are no longer going to mail them out because of the number of people using them at other stores. Instead they are starting a new loyalty card program, something like you buy $50 worth of groceries 3 out of the 4 selected weeks and you get a $50 gas card. Sounds like a good deal but I would have thought they would have just started accepting other stores coupons? Seems like the more logical choice if they are upset about spending money on print ads that end up being used at other stores.

      • Alison

I didn’t mean printable I meant paper on that crest. sry!!

    • shirl

I had an e-vic alert Friday for a 12 oz bag of Seattle’s Best Coffee for $4.99… I had a $2 evic electronic coupon and a $1 paper coupon and got that wonderful coffee for $1.99. I used 19 coupons this morning and even with the coffee and big bottle of Purex, I spent $13. (I forgot to get the chicken that’s on sale so I gotta go back… I am couponed out!!) Lovn it… HT at Cotswold… the cashier was very customer service oriented!

    • shirl

I had two $2 coupons for the Purex detergent that is on sale but I used only one. I need to go get chicken tomorrow or Tuesday (I forgot to get that because of the coupon mania).. but if anyone will be at a Harris Teeter here in Charlotte and would like the other $2 coupon on the Purex… pls respond and I’ll leave it at the service desk… I go to the Central ave, Cotswold, or Sardis stores. It’s $2. Just thought I’d share.

      • Mmreep

How much is the purex on sale for?

        • Jwright4105

          It was 2 for $12 with a $2 coupon, so $4 for a 150 oz bottle.

    • Justgiada

I got an evic offer for the special k cracker crisps for $1.99 each. It says limit 2 and that I have to buy both in the same trasaction to get the price . My  question is if I buy only one will I get 1 box for 1.99 or not?

      • Margoren

Yes, you can get one. But if later you want to go get the other one, it will be regular price.

    • Samadio

I have a question.  When I was paying for my groceries, they were scanning my coupons.  But some of them beeped. The cashier called someone over to override them.  Why do they do that?

      • Nita Royal

happens to me almost every trip, but no idea why.  I’m just glad they call for the override!

    • jwright4105

Great deals this week – got a few free items from this week’s paper I thought I’d share – Tobasco sauce had a 75 cent coupon which tripled (even though it said do not double) so it was a free 1.95 bottle.

Also got free St. Ives travel size which was 2/$3.  50 cent coupon made it free.

Heads up to anyone in Raleigh needing baby formula – I was at the Wakefield HT this morning and in the clearance buggy were 5 or 6 of the big cans of Gerber GoodStart Gentle formula on clearance for $10. Super great price.

    • Tj-bryant

Went to HT this weekend and only spent $5.00 and got to large bags full of stuff. Chex Mix, Pasta, Spaghetti Sauce, Two bottles of Gain dish detergent, Lance Crackers, and lots of other things.

FYI – Gain detergent was on sale for .99 and we have a .50 off any size coupon from a couple of weeks ago. Actually made a .50 profit in the end on each bottle

My sister & I both have had trouble this week – When I went the other day, none of my coupons would triple and they said I had already used my 20 for the day (I had not and no one has my vic #). Last night, my sister was able to triple 3 coupons, but they said 17 had already been used that day. Again, she had not used her card yesterday and no one has her number. Any thoughts?

      • J Yauniek

I had the same problem. The manager even looked at my coupons and said these coupons are do not double coupons. Mind you they all started with a 5 and none of them said do not double. Then she said my sisters card and my card were linked. I said that shouldn’t be because we live in separate apartments. She finally refunded my sisters money but was reluctant to give me mine because she said we had reached our limit and that we shouldn’t try and cheat the store. I dont know whats going on anymore. I always seem to have problems even though I follow all the rules of the policy.

        • Kategarb

Strange.  I asked them to tell me when & where my card had been used already that day and they said that was confidential!  My concern is that someone has “hijacked” my account by using my phone number – so they can do more than 20/coupons per day.  (Oftentimes I call out my phone # instead of scanning my card.)

          • J Yauniek

I do that too. I never give them my card because I dont bring my wallet or purse in the store. Ive had things stolen from me that had to do with coupons from HT. I tried calling corporate but im having the same issues as other people. Ill try next week.

    • Shoppingmom4rhodes

I live in Hendersonville NC and have been trying to shop at HT in Hendersonville and Asheville.  Both stores are constantly wiped out.  They say its because of triple coupon and they’ve had inventory.  I was able to get a few sale items and had no problem with my coupons not tripling my only problem is the people clearing the shelves.  I try to follow the exact coupon policy of only buying 3 of the same item with my coupons.  I really think it is a shame that people go to the store daily to get the same items over & over and leave none for others.  If you have bought your 3 items then save some for other people and dont shop the same items everyday!  We are all in this together!  We cant control what problems the store is having with inventory and stock but we can control respect for others!! Everyone is trying to save money right now!

      • SimmerDown

I don’t think it takes too many people to wipe out a certain item. Like those Granola Thins: my store usually only has about 20 boxes or so when it’s stocked fully. So that would only take like 7 people to buy that item and then it’s out of stock. and given that this blog has over 400 comments, I’m sure there is AT LEAST 7 people that bought granola thins lol… not the same person 7 different days. Find your happy place :O) Not all couponers are greedy.

      • Ronsphotos

I just know in the grand scheme of things that there is a consortium of people who planned every day to make sure they got to my Harris Teeter and bought all the sugar that I had coupons for.  I’m convinced of the conspiracy.  And I know when they poltted against me; at one of the “coupon swaps”.  The last thing they did was decide who they were going to sc@#$w out of sugar this time and, well there you are….

    • Fluterspaige

Hmmmm, any one know what is going on with corporate Harrris Teeter ? I have been trying with email and phone calls to resolve evic and coupon problems that could not be resolved at the store. No responses and now the voice mailbox is full.

      • savinmavin

Having the same probs., hope to hear from them soon.

        • Margoren

Same here, but my card finally started working a few days ago. I never heard from them though…

        • Fluterspaige

This a.m. the voice mailbox was still full. Just tried again and talked with a customer service rep. Try again :). She was so very nice and informative.

    • Jlaleonard

I can not get my new evic coupons to save to my card. I tried  several days ago and again today. It does not work. Anyone else having trouble.

      • Fluterspaige

You are only allowed to save 99. This weekend none of mine uploaded to my cash register receipt and I had to manually calculate at customer service to receive my $23.  Thank goodness I notice before driving home! I have been unable to save any more since Thurs. Still waiting to hear from corporate.

        • Jlaleonard

Thanks so much! I thought it was unlimited. I have called them but their
Phone box if full. I just deleted a older coupon.I then then added the
FREE eggs coupon to test it and it worked. It finally saved it!  if
anyone else needs to delete one they should be able to add a new one. Go
to my saved coupons to delete what you do not want to get the new
          coupons.  HTH
I meant to reply to you not myself. LOL

I heard there were going to be Super Doubles coming up this week or next…any confirmation on that?

      • Amy

Supposedly next Wednesday, 9/28 starts Super Doubles.

        • Glad2bme35

          what are super doubles?

        • Andrea

That is good to know – thank you!

    • Csmith815

Ok, I areally getting tred of the sour faces and the constant atttitude everytime I shop at y HT in Wilson,NC.  If they are wrnabou a coupon, they make it seem like its your fault for using it.  If the mangers and the cashiers are going to be so smug and unhelpful, why have the Super Double and Triple weeks??  It’s like they resent anyone who comes in with a coupon!  They need to do their jobs and respectfully or QUIT!

      • Kathryn21

I’m sorry you had a bad trip in Wilson.  I went today and there were a lots of empty shelves, but the young guy I had was very nice.  He took off a couple of things that weren’t right–no attitude, no nothing!  Empty shelves though but customer service wasn’t a problem.

    • Heatherematthews

I am sooooo sorry for those who had a bad experince But mine was alwsome I live 25 miles away from my Harris Teeter But the deals were just worth the drive and the hospitality was great I think during a event like this you have to go into it realizing that evreything is NOT going to be in stock everyday and it is not the stores fault nor the customers fault it is just part of it no reason for anyone to get upset I went twice during the triple event and didnt get to get everything I had coupons for because some things were out of stock. But I still saved over 80 dollars each day in coupons alone. I think the reason that some of the HT employees may get upset is because some of you aren’t being very pleasant. If people keep acting this way we may not get to have events like these in the future. If you had a good experiance you should give your store a call thanking them for what they do!
THANK YOU HT OF HAMPSTED NC!

      • Andrea

I love the Surf City HT – they are so friendly at the checkout and in the store!  Plus I thought they kept the store much better stocked than another HT in our area.  I told them so too!  If I worked there I would want to know when people noticed the good.

I saved a bunch and it was pleasant!

        Thanks HT

    • Candikane02

I don’t know if someone already pointed this out (as there is over 400 comments on here! lol). But did anyone else’s green giant coupon not triple? It was an IP for .80/4 and mine showed the multiplied coupon amount as .45. Wondering if its worth the drive back to Harris Teeter… It is only 1.15 which is how much gas will cost me to get back over there! grrr I hate it when that happens.

      • Fluterspaige

mine worked. call the store and just hold on to the receipt and have customer service adjust it during your next visit.

        • Candikane02

do I have to go back to that same store? or can I go to a different one?

    • Sarahoconnor

Just did my 7th trip to HT this week.  Whew!  I’m exhausted after Super Triples.  I know I’m lucky that I’m so close to so many HT’s.  My pantry and freezer are stocked and I saved so much money.  Today’s trip alone I spent $8 and saved $42.  The hardest part was deciding which 20 coupons to use each day.  I had nothing but amazing customer service, friendly and helpful employees and mostly stocked shelves.  I’m going to make cookies to take to all of them tomorrow to thank them for their hard work.  We need to remember how exhausting these special weeks are for them!  I love my Falls Pointe Harris Teeter in Raleigh!

      • shirl

LOL… I had two coupons for two different kinds of sugar and sizes…didn’t get to use my coupons either. I don’t use sugar except to make nectar for my hummingbird feeder so I didn’t need it anyway.. HAHAHA…

    • cheryl

I have an issue with that dang .80/4 Green Giant veggies. I bought 4 during this sale @ 4/$5 and they took my coupon but it didn’t ding. It took off .80 then it only took off .45. It didn’t triple. I asked Customer Service at the Central Ave store today and she said it wouldn’t pay more than the product! duh… I told her the coupon was for 4 and I bought 4 and it should have tripled to $2.40. Then she said she’d have to see the coupon. She did take my number off my vic card and my telephone number but I told her it was probably not worth pursuing. However, I think it is! That coupon was worth $2.40 and I only got $1.25 from it. And I paid $5 for the product! Bummer… I love HT and I don’t complain much, but I don’t like being treated like I’m stupid. Does she think I am going to s#$t her a coupon???

    • Mrs Ladydent

does anyone know when the next time they are doin this? i missed it again….the triple or double
