Here are the deals that start Wednesday 2/24 at Harris Teeter. It’s back to normal for coupon doubling, but they have a great General Mills promotion running this week! Let me know if you see any other participating brands that aren’t advertised.

Rumor is already turning about possible triples within the next 3 weeks, I’ll let you know when I have a definite.

shoppinglist1

Coupon Policy:
1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items, each item will ring up half price.
2. Coupons are doubled that are 99¢ or less.
3. They will double 20 coupons per day/transaction.
4. You must have a VIC card to get sale prices and for your coupons to double.
5. Most stores only allow one coupon per B1G1 deal, so only buy one per transaction if possible.

I've been looking in the freezer section for the Yoplait Smoothies and can't ever find them. Any hints on where to find them?

      • April

In my harris teeter they are close to the coolwhip…we only have a very small section of frozen fruit..but that's usually where they are.

      • zionsmama2007

At my HT they're located with the frozen fruit and frozen fruit juices. Hope that helps! It took me a while to find them too..and they're ALWAYS sold out when super doubles comes around so they must be good! :-)

      • Laura

In my store they are on an upper shelf between the frozen bread and roll section and the section with frozen cakes, etc.

      • Bee

Thanks for your help. I was looking near the ice cream and “novelties.” I'll look near the fruit next time. I know I'll like them…..BEE

        • I've seen the smoothies in a freezer “end cap”. Good luck!

    • zionsmama2007

I always get confused by this….can you really use a coupon for say .50/2 on a B1G1 item? It seems like I read somewhere that technically you're only buying one item, so that wouldn't be a valid coupon to use? Or is that more a store by store policy? Thanks!!

      • Abigail

I know that my HT will only take 1 coupon on a B1G1 deal so I have to do them in 2 seperate transactions. I don't see why they wouldn't take the .50/2 because its only 1 coupon for the B1G1 deal. I would think that they would like it better since it makes you use only 1 coupon. I guess they figure if you use 2 coupons on a B1G1, even though the ring up half price, that they are “losing” even more money.

        • deniseCLT

my HT does accept .50/2 (or any dollar amount off 2) coupons for B1G1 deals. I've never had a problem using one. I've heard that it's different at different stores, but I'd at least try it.

        • Dee

HI! Just to let everyone know, so they do not get upset, when they are the register. If you have an internet coupon, and it says do not double, it will not double. They can not over-ride the system. This has happened before, so as the wife of the manager, I'm trying to save some frustration. Right now, they do not know if they are going to do triple, they just came out of a coupon week. Will let everyone know if they do!

As the wife of the manager, the system will not allow them to take money off for a free item. Some things they can not control. Just like if you have a internet coupon, that says do not double, they can not double it. They have no way around the system. It is like that even at Publix. If you don't get the second item free, it will take half off, and then you can use the coupon.

          • bridget

Maybe it is different in different regions? I used some 50 cents/2 Green Giant coupons this morning which were marked “Do not double” but started with a 5 barcode, and they doubled just fine. I did the Green Giant/Pillsbury deal and got 3 GG Steamers, 7 boxes GG veggies, and 2 Pillsbury cinnamon rolls for only $1.08 total with tax :)

          • guest

Respectfully, that is not accurate in all areas. Any coupon that starts w/ a #5 in the barcode will double automatically at the register unless it would give overage, or unless the cashier or manager enters the coupon manually so that it will not double. The register does not know if a coupon was internet printed or came from the newspaper, and the register cannot read the fine print that says 'do not double', it can only read the numbers in the barcode, and if the barcode starts with a '5' then HT's registers see fit to double it as long as purchasing conditions have been met to allow the register to accept that particular coupon.

Also respectfully, the 'no money off a free item' thing is not necessarily accurate, either. B1G1free items normally ring up at 1/2 price at my stores (at HT and in fact all of my grocery stores in my area), not 1 full price and 1 free, so since these items each ring up at half price, I am able to use a coupon on each item. You cannot use a combination of coupons that will get 'overage' on the items, however the register will allow you to use a coupon on each item so long as there is no overage involved. My HT realizes that I could easily purchase 1 item per transaction at half price, and use 1 coupon in each transaction that only has 1 item, and therefore they do not have a problem with me using a coupon on each B1G1free item so long as I am not exceeding any limits (i.e. 3 like items, etc).

          • marysc

Sorry Dee, but this information is not correct. Even If the coupon says “do not double”, if the bar code starts with a 5 the computer will automatically double it and the cashier has to manually suppress the doubling to stop it. (If the bar code starts with a 9 it will not double.) Computers do not read the text on the coupon… and currently the vast majority of coupons that state “do not double” start with 5.

            • Dee

At his store, they will not take off. I have coupons that start with 5, from the manufacturer, and my girlfriend did also, and the system here did not allow it to double. Like a few ladies have said, it is the region, and when I worked for HT, it was like that in the Northern region.

        • Dee

They have no way around the system. They can not take money off for a free item. There system is set up from corporate, just like any other business, if they could do it, believe me they would. It is frustrating to them also, when they can not do the simple little things like that! Just like with a internet coupon, it is not there fault if it says do not double. The manufacturer is responsible for that. It saves frustration before anyone gets up to the register to check out. I saved someone that aggrevation the other day, they did not even read the coupon carefully!

        • Dee

Hi Abigail. It is different at all stores. This is the only store in this area, and every regional manager, wants there stores to either stick to the rules, or do what they think is right. As the wife of the manager, it is frustrating when you are told to do things a certain way, believe me it would save a lot of headaches. I write letters to the manufacturer's letting them beware of how stores run ads, and if they could adjust some of their coupons, and in the meantime they send me free coupons!

      • Dee

It is the manufacturer's. If it says 50 cents off of two, and one is free, it will only take off for one. Technically you are getting one free. So, I write letters to the manufacturer's telling them of these situations, and in the meantime, they will send you some coupons.

    • Andiwaugh

Jenny – I want to thank you for such a wonderful website. I have passed your website on to so many ladies at the Harris Teeter! I make a list off your website and when I show it to them…they are amazed and ask for the website! I love that you provide link to the coupons based on the sales. It's hands down the easiest, most organized, and helpful website! Thank you again!

    • Kimberly

Hmmm … the gm deal is going to take some finagling. I found out that my local HTs have gotten really picky about taking more than two IP from the same source. Does anyone know if that rule will count towards all gm stuff, or just like items?

      • guest

The rule technically means that you should only be able to use 2 IP coupons for GM product, however enforcement will vary depending on your cashier.

One more question….how many times can you do the General Mills promotions? Is it just 1 per transaction? (Just getting tired of going multiple times a week to HT! haha)

      • guest

Probably 1 time per transaction – there have been times in the past where it was cumulative (where you could buy 10 things in 1 transaction and then 5 in the next, and in the second order it would realize that you'd purchased a total of 15 items and would then take off your discount) but the only way to find out if it works that way this time is to try it, and most people are not going to be willing to take the chance of missing out on the additional discount if it's not working that way this time.

Regardless of how many times you can do the deal per-transaction, either way you can only use 20 doubled coupons per day toward the deals…

Does anyone know if the other flavors of Cheerios will work with the “General Mills Promotion 1”? I'm am trying to figure out my best combination of cereals for the best deal and would love to be able to include some frosted cheerios or yogurt burst cheerios in this deal.

      • Cheerios was in the promotion

        • Katie

At my HT, Frosted Cheerios were not included.

    • Anonymous

There’s a $1/1 Emerald Nuts coupon here: http://www.feedyourfingers.com/Coupons.aspx. This would make the trail mix $0.49 each. FYI: It expires on 2/28/10.

    • The general mills promotion was a pretty good deal. I had a coupon from bi lo for $2 for 5 boxes then I had a manufactured coupon for $1 2 boxes and another mF for $1 off 3 boxes and it was also 2 boxes for $5. With the promotion it took an extra $5 at checkout. so basically I go 5 boxes of cereal for little more than a $1

Hello Ladies….does anyone know where I could find Gain Laundry detergent coupon?

      • Heather

there are coupons in the 2/7 P&G

      • Dee

Believe it or not, they are sometimes in the box. I found one the other day, when I opened up my gain. I found this out, Proctor and Gamble has a new system, you actually get a card in the mail, and it has the savings on it, like coupons. So instead of cutting out coupons, the cashier swipes the card at the register, and your savings will come of with the items that need the coupon, really neat!

      • justincase1031

I'm not aware of a coupon, but if you are signed up for eVic, then 50oz gain will ring up at $2.99 when you use your Vic card. You have to be signed up though for eVic, not just have a vic card. You sign up online at HT's website. When you do sign up, your eVic savings won't start until the next week. So if your not signed up already, you won't get that deal. BUT, don't let that keep you from signing up, because they have great deals every week. Might as well get on the savings train!!!

    • Stace

It appears we won't received a $1.00 off 2 on hungry jack here in VA. So it wouldn't quite work out as well. Thanks for all you do!

    • Stace

Sorry for my last comment–typos. I meant to say “It appears we only received a $1/2 hungry jack here in VA so it wouldn't work quite as well”

    • Kathleen

Can you use more than 1 coupon per item?

      • deniseCLT

You can only use 1 manufacturer's coupon per item.

        • Dee

Hi Denise, I have to say, you are the only one that agrees with me. My husband is the manager of the HT, and you have no idea how frustrating it is, when people do not understand this. The only reason why Publix takes coupons for free items is that they never double their coupons… It doesn't matter how young or old the cashier is, they are doing their job. The manufacturer is the one who prints on the coupon, whether to double it or not, not the store. Thanks for a good comment.

          • soma

if somebody photocopy a coupon. what are the manager gonna do? lol.

    • Joy S

I just printed a 1.00 Folgers Silk coffee coupon. Harris Teeter carries this coffee on sale for the 1.99 this week which makes it only .99.http://print.coupons.com/CouponWeb/Offers.aspx?…

      • Amy

Thanks Joy! What zip code did you find it under?

    • Wendy

Are all Smart Source coupon inserts the same? I have been following more serious “couponing” for the past couple of weeks and some of the SS coupons listed are not included in the one(s) I received in the paper. For example: my SS does not have a coupon for the Fresh Express salads listed above.

      • zionsmama2007

I think they vary a LOT by region. There have been so many deals I've missed out on because my local paper doesn't have the same coupons in the SS or RP as other regions. However, if you go to some coupon trading forums or websites you can find many of those coupons for free or for like .08 or.09!

        • guest

Newspaper coupons do vary quite a bit in different regions, and can even differ within the same city in different newspapers. *Normally* newspapers with a larger circulation (i.e. big city newspapers) will get more and better coupons, but that's just a general rule and there can always be exceptions. Sometimes it's very interesting to compare a larger city newspaper to a smaller (and often cheaper) newspaper – sometimes it's quite surprising the level of differences you will find.

    • Jessica

I'm new to this website, I love it by the way! So, when I click on “printable” for the -.55/1 Sparkle Paper Towels, I don't find the coupon there, where can I find it?

    • Lisa

Do you have to buy only the items listed under each bold heading “general mills promotion” to get the money off, or can you buy any general mills products?

      • guest

Normally for deals like these, only the specifically advertised items are included. Sometimes there are exceptions, but it's safest to stick with the advertised items.

      • tyler9401

Also I do not see the deal in my Harris Teeter ad about General Mills products. Does anyone know if it still applys everywhere? Thanks a bunch!

        • Jan

I was wondering the same thing. It's not advertised in mine either. I'm in the Lake Norman area, NC. Does anyone know?

          • Jan

OK, I went to the Davidson, NC HT and it was listed in the paper flyer, although it isn't in the online version. I got 7 boxes and 1 bag of veggies, 1 cake mix, 2 of the Martha White mixes, 2 crescent rolls, and 2 cinnamon rolls for $2.10!!! Yay! I love HT!

FYI, only 1 of the Martha White mixes rang up for .50. The 2nd rang up $1.19. Still a good deal (.59 for both)!

“-$1 off Gain “Thank You Mom” home mailer” Where would I find this coupon?
      Thanks.

    • Christa

If you received the Kashi cereal free sample through thier website offer, it came with a $2/1 coupon, making the Kashi cereal only $1 this week!!

    • ms. truth

A little advice when using coupons. Seek out the young male cashier. They don't care and will find a way to get your coupons to go through. For some reason, the middle-aged ladies are sticklers for every policy. May sound sexist but it's true 99.9% of the time.

      • zionsmama2007

LOL…I use that SAME strategy! For me though I just pick the youngest cashier, male or female. At the HT I go to any of the middle-aged women give me a hard time with all my coupons so I've learned to steer clear!

        • RebeccaFer

I think the younger women tend to call a manager more often then a young man. I'm not condoning trying to *sneak* by coupons that are not valid for any reason or to break the rules on a store's coupon policy but when I know I'm in the right, there is nothing worse then a cashier who inspects every coupon like I'm a criminal.

      • swoodroof

        I agree

      • marysc

This is always my strategy as well!!!!

      “L’Oreal Vive Pro $2.99
-$1 off L’Oreal Vive Pro shampoo or conditioner, any RP 2/21, RP 2/28
-$2 off L’Oreal Everpure Shampoo, Conditioner or Treatment, Any printable”

Does this mean that this product is free? Sorry still trying to understand!!

      • deniseCLT

No, Jenny just posts all the available coupons for the product. You can only use one manu coupon per item.

        • guest

Actually the printable coupon for Everpure is not even valid for the item on sale – it's a totally different line, and it's more expensive than the item that's on sale.

    • Katie

Can you do the General Mills Promotion more than one time? Thanks!

      • bridget

Yes, in separate transactions. I was able to do the Green Giant/Pillsbury deal twice today (only needed 8 coupons per order, so it kept me under the limit of 20 total coupons for the day).

    • soma

I'm trying to print a coupon from the coupon database. I was told that I had to install the coupon printer. It stated that the coupon printer was installed successfully. When I tried to print it again, I was told to install the coupon printer. I did that again and there was a message that the coupon printer was now upgraded. Everytime I go to try and print it, it says that I have to install the coupon printer and I never did get a coupon to print. I turned off my firewall and pop up blocker. I even restarted my computer. I have Explorer 6.0. I'd rather not install a different browser like firefox if I don't need to. I tried to print a coupon from Smart Source and had not problem at all. Any ideas on how to get this print?

      • guest

Lots of people have problems with printing internet coupons, and I know you don't want to install a different browser, but honestly usually that's the quickest and best way to fix your problem. You don't necessarily have to use the new browser for anything but coupon-printing if you don't want to. I have Firefox on my comptuer (DH likes it) but I use Explorer for everything unless I run into a problem trying to print a coupon – if that ever happens, I switch over to Firefox and 99% of the time the coupon prints fine from there even if I was unable to print in Explorer. Then I just close it out and go back to browsing in Explorer since I prefer it over Firefox.

        • soma

i DL firefox. but still doesnt work. anybody please help me!!!

          • beepampered

When I had trouble printing, I had to realize to use the correct link on the website. Everything with an IE next to it is for Internet Explorer and will work there. The items with FF are for Foxfire users. You can use one or the other but not mix them. Try it on a different computer to see if there is user error before trying to fix your computer more and good luck. BEE

    • KC

I have brought DND coupons to HT before, not expecting them to double them, but they did anyway! I'm assuming they will always do it and it was not a fluke!

    • laura

I'm a bit confused about the General Mills promotion. Why is it split up into promotion 1 and promotion 2? Do you have to buy the items under 1 together and under 2 together or can you mix all of the items up. Is she just saying if you buy 12 items you get $4 and if you buy 15 you get $5?

      • bridget

It is 2 separate deals. The first one(GM) includes the specific items listed and you get $5 instantly if you buy any combination of 15 of them, and the Pillsbury/Green Giant is $4 off instantly if you buy 12 of those specific items. You can do both deals, if you have the right coupons and can stay under 20 coupons per day, or do one deal each on 2 different days if you would run over 20 coupons total by doing it all together.

    • amurphy061

does HT take competitor coupons? I have one from Target for the Barilla Plus pasta. Thanks!

    • pegglegg

they do not take target coupons i tried last week and was told they only take $ off entire order from other stores

    • I'm going to frame these and hang them when my husband's at work and see how long it takes him to notice when he gets home!

    • For a limited time, to celebrate their 25th anniversary, CiCi’s is offering buffet meals for only $3.99. The offer ends on Feb. 28th. Check with your store before ordering to make sure they are participating.

    • Sara

I tried doing the General Mills Promotion #2 today at my HT. I got to the register and they told me that the items that were B1G1 don't count toward my total of 12 items (since they're free). After that and a couple of other coupon issues, I got frustrated and left. Bummed!

    • Chris

Thank you SO much for your list! I really appreciate the time you take to do these match-ups. I use them every week, so please don't stop!

    • Regarding the Pillsbury promotion: I thought I had it, but I didn't get the $4. I finally figured out why – it was the Green Giant boxed vegetables. It has to be the 7 oz “Healthy Heart” or “Healthy Vision” varieties. I bought the regular 9 oz boxes, so they didn't count. Oh well, I still had a good trip – spent $57 and saved $82.

      • pegglegg

i bought the regular ones and it counted?? They like to make it tricky

        • jessica1970

I bought the regular ones too and mine counted as well.

          • It might've been something else. I think maybe two of the biscuits I bought were the wrong ones. You really have to be careful!

    • Barry

2/28 newspaper had pillsbury .75 forzen biscuit coupon but it worked on pillsbury grand 5 count biscuit b1g1 free so i paid .05 for two 5 count biscuits that were $1.55

    • Sara

I have to say, I am very disappointed in a few of you. As a past employee of HT, I can tell you that the young cashiers get the same training as the older ones. The register is the one that ultimately decides if your coupon goes through or not. Stop trying to get something for nothing, and just follow the rules. HT can stop doubling and trippling anytime, if they are being taken advantage of.

      • SUE

So glad someone else appreciates that we HT employees are only doing our jobs! I wish all coupon 'customers” could work behind the register when someone like themselves comes through the line with many coupons that don't apply to the item, out dated, more then the allowed amount etc… Some of you ruin it for the rest of the shoppers. I am a coupon user too so I know how it is. PLEASE abide by the rules so all can enjoy the benefits. Thank-you. We HT employees are just following the policies to keep our jobs. May you all remember we're people too! Bless you!

    • I had a pleasant surprise this morning – went back for one last quick trip to HT and found that the two bags of Valley Fresh Steamers I bought were added on to the Pillsbury Promo items I had bought a few days ago and I got the $4 taken off my total today. I had been disappointed before because I thought I made the total for the promo but didn't then. I thought it had to all be in one transaction, but apparently it doesn't. They track your purchases throughout the week and it's cumulative. That's a good thing to know for future promotions!

How do you get the Sav-A-Lot home mailer and the Thank You Mom mailer?

      • FYI: Harris Teeter won't take Sav-A-Lot coupons. My store won't, anyway.
