A friend told me about this website and I, in turn, have told other friends about it. Thank you! I was already doing much of what is talking about on here, but this site makes it easier to pull together deals.

My question is, has anyone been successful at feeding their families healthily on a tiny budget? It seems that all the great deals I find are for processed foods. While I don’t mind feeding that stuff to my family occasionally, I prefer to feed them foods with no additives, artificial junk, high fructose corn syrup, etc. While I love paying only 50 cents for a box of Mini Wheats and 60 cents for a box of Suddenly Salad (as I did today), it’s not the best food for my family (or husband, to be exact, since the rest of us cannot eat gluten). Any insight? Thanks!

Can the CVS coupons for $5 off $15 purchase be used at Harris Teeter?

    • Tara

No the CVS coupon can not be used at HT. In regards to the question about coupons being for mainly processed foods. I agree that there are lots of those types of things avialable but the key to being a great shopper is utilizing the sales when they have them. For example – GRWAT deal on boneless chicken breats at Bi-Lo this weeek and 80% lean hamburger at HT. Take advantage of these sales and buy more than a week’s worth. Stock up when meat is cheap. Cheese is cheap right now – buy it and freeze it – buy produce that is only in season like rigt now berriesm tomatos and corn. Love strawberries all year. Buy in bulk and freeze and eat when tey are triple the price in November.

    • Susie

Wow – I didn’t know you could use competitors coupons. Cool! I was wondering if there is a limit to the amount of the same coupons you can use. For instance, if Special K is on sale for 2/5.00 – can I buy 4 and use 4 coupons or 6 and use 6 coupons – even if they are the same one?

      THANKS!

    • Does anyone know if there is a limit on the fresh express deal? I was hoping to do the B1G2 twice, once tomorrow afternoon, and once next week (we go through a lot of salad), but I don’t know if there is a limit… for example, last week with the deer park water, there was a 6 bottle limit at the B1G2 rate.

    • Jennifer

Is there a limit on the $3/3 Oscar Meyers (like, if I bought 6 Oscar Meyer products would I get $6)? My ad says 10 Lunchables for $10, so I’m thinking I can buy 3 for $3, and get the $3. Any reason why that wouldn’t work? And, does anyone know if HT accepts the Walgreens RR as a competitors coupons…it does say “manufacturer’s coupon’ across the top. Jenny, THANK YOU, for all that you do!!! And thanks to everyone else who posts such helpful information.

    • Tiffany

I’m looking on the HT website and it doesn’t show the Pepsi 12 packs for B1G2F… it says 3/$11… am I missing something?

    • lauren

Hey all! I’m new to all this and don’t have a HT near me, but just got $30 in gift cards there. Anyone know how often HT triples? Is it an every other month thing??

    • Ginger

Guess what???? I live in Chesapeake, VA and the new Harris Teeter that just opened this past week is having TRIPLE COUPONS for the next 3 weeks in a row…they also stated that they will be having triple coupons once a month now!!!
The store was jam packed tonight (and it’s a Friday night). I only had a few things wrote down to buy since I didn’t know it was “triple coupons” so I plan to go through my list again.

If anyone is in the Hampton Roads area and wants to try and come up with a great list for triples I can help out…let me know!

    • Elizabeth

      Lauren,

Recently it’s been once a month, the first weekend of last week of the month, I believe.

    • Elizabeth

I am incredibly annoyed…I sent my husband to HT with a very small list and coupons—expecting him to come home having paid less than $5—$14 was his total. This isn’t a budget buster, but it’s just annoying.

Snyders pretzels were $2.50 a bag, not $1.50. The Breyers ice cream shows at 1.99 on our Express Lane (not our exact store, but in our city) but rang up as BOGO off 5.59, making them 2.79. That’s a big difference when I sent him in to stock up on .49 ice cream!

Ugh. I’ll be doing the quick runs to the store for stock-up items from now on, I guess and I’ll double check my store’s prices versus those listed, as I guess each store can be quite different.

    • Elizabeth, I haven’t found this at HT< but I have this problem with Kroger. It seems like every site I visit lists prices waaay cheaper than what my stores have. I always have to make a note of the prices I see online then go double check before I actually buy anything. Boo.

Went to HT today…they now have a new coupon policy they were issued on June 3rd. No more competitors coupons printed from the Internet, only those competitors coupons received by mail. (No more Internet Target or FL coupons) Can only use one competitors coupon for one discount. No mutiple deals. This means for B1G1 can only use one competitors coupon on one item. B1G1 will now take 4 items to use a coupon for .75 off 2 items. (no sure why as they receive the .75 either way) I asked for the new coupon policy, it was a two full pages. Still haven’t gotten through everything. I have a copy of the policy just need to find a way to get it on the Internet.
