Does anyone know if they are having triples or super doubles again in Hendersonville, NC?

      • Nicole

when I was at the Hendersonville HT this past weekend the cashier/assistant mgr stated (actually she kinda whispered it to us as if this is a secret…) that they would be doing triples through April 19th. Hope this is true!! LOVE triples and super doubles!!

        • Jen :)

Nicole, Do you know if they take double coupons as usual at Hendersonville HT up to $1.98 WHILE the triple coupon deal is going on? I was there Monday and used several triple coupons up to .99 as was advertised. I asked a cashier if I could use my $1.00 coupons and still have them doubled as the way the double deal works all the time at that store. She said not during triples, but I got the feeling she was just answering me without full knowledge??? I only had 2 coupons for $1.00 so I just accepted her answer and didn't confirm with a manager. Do you know anything different or certain about that?

          • Nicole

yes that is true unfortunately. IF they are doing triples then they will not do super doubles at the same time. They usually double coupons up to 0.99 cents (that is their normal doubling of coupons). If it is Triples week then they triple coupons up to 0.98 cents. If it is Super Doubles week they double coupons up to 1.98! So this week if they are doing triples (again) which is what i think they're doing they would not double $1 off coupons. So you should probably save those until next super doubles week. Hendersonville HT has awesome coupon weeks..I will let you guys know if they are doing triples this week this afternoon when I get home.

            • Firefrog_nc1

They are doing Triples at the HT in Hendersonville for coupons up to .99 cents!

          • Auntiecoco

Jen, they only double to 1.98 during “super doubles” normally HT only doubles 99 or less, but they are trippling those this week and last. HTH

      • Guest

Last time I was there the manager (again whispered) that they were looking at making it a permanent policy there.

    • kati

There were peelies on the Duncan Hines brownie mix boxes at my HT today for $.50 off, making them free!

    • Momsdword1

Thanks so much for all you do to post the ad and Q matchups. I tell many others of your site and how I depend on it for all my shopping. You are APPRECIATED soooooo much!!!

    • CCShad

PF Turnovers – if these are frozen, there were $.55/1 coupons for any PF frozen item inside packages of PF Goldfish. That is .97 each!

    • Kate

Doesn't this ad have many items that ae from the last week?

      • Harris Teeter tends to carry deals for 2-3 weeks.

    • CHEAP MILK through 4-09
Buy 3 Kellogg's Cereal– Frosted Mini Wheats BOGO this week-
      3 x $1.75= $5.25- $1/off Q= $4.25- $3.59 FREE MILK CAT=
      $.65 for 3 boxes cereal!
I have 4 kids and buy 2-3 gallons of milk regardless of sales, so for me it is like spending my weekly milk money + a little extra and getting milk & cereal!

The CAT will print at the very end and will be good for 2 weeks. This could also be a GREAT time to you any Nabisco Q save $1 off cookies when you buy milk! Use your CAT for free milk & Nabisco Q to save on cookies. My kids will be very happy this week!

      • Mrs. Ellis

So there is a catalina for free milk when you buy 3 kelloggs cereals? Sorry, I am just a little confused.

      • Kristin

Does anyone know if the Catalina deal for free milk will work more than once? I did it a few weeks ago and did not know if it would work again.

        • TheChapleigh

yes, i’ve done this a few times, albiet at Lowes Foods….

    • Kristin

Jenny, thanks for all you do!!! I have a coupon for a free 12 pack and they are BOGO free this week. How does that work at Harris Teeter??? Thanks!!

      • Rlynn103

HT has been a little leary of taking “free” coupons. You may have to check on that!

      • Coupon Katie

Most HT's do not accept any coupon that would make a product free. Jenny has the HT coupon policy as a link on the top of the page. I have been to 4 or 5 HT's around the Durham area and everyone is really strict on this.

      • Momto2buggies

they ring up half price each @ 3.03 a piece. so when the Q is scanned then you will only pay 3.03 for both.

      • nancycrom

The only free q they will not accept are those from the internet. It says that in their policy.

    • Javajanekool

I am new to this and am wondering what the price in the parenthesis means. Is that the sale price?

      • Chele17rene

That's the price they will ring up, because they are B1G1

      • Kcreviews

Yes. On the B1G1 items, the sale price will be half of the reg. price.

    • Jen

Anyone else have trouble with HT not wanting to accept B1G1 printable coupons? Like the Athenos Hummus and coupon mentioned above? My mom & I had trouble at a store during Super Doubles. Two registers, they took mine but refused my moms. Manager said we couldn't tell him one HT that would have ever accepted a B1G1 printable. I said well, she just took mine! Needless to say, that cashier was getting in some serious trouble when we left (and the CSM even had to override mine, had no idea at the time why, but she claimed she didn't approve it). I had no idea they didn't take these, the policy only said “no free item” printables accepted, nothing about B1G1 printables.

      • CCShad

All 4 stores in Mt. Pleasant, SC do not take B1G1 internet coupons, b/c they consider that a free item coupon. I just always have to use those types of coupons elsewhere, like Publix!!

      • Kcreviews

My HT will NOT take these under any circumstance.

      • LeAnna

HT stopped taking these a while back. I fought it tooth and nail..b/c (in my mind) a b1/g1 is different than a printed 'free' I wrote cooperate and everything. Last I heard they were changing their wording(which I strongly suggested) on their Q policy. In the end–I save GADS of money at HT w/ my q's. I am a loyal shopper b/c of it! And I will follow policy. One thing you may want to know is that if you ever get a q mailed to you a 'free' or b1g1…item-keep the whole letter-and even the envelope(if there is just a q) w/ you-so you can prove it is not internet printed. I ran accross a problem w/ my free excederin. Lucky for me I still had the letter. I was able to fish it out from my binder-I was not treated mean…they just were skeptical.

        • Kristin

Mine would not take the internet B1G1's and this was my first experience with trying it I guess. Oh well, I know it for next time. Also, the brownie mix and icing were not on sale at my HT and they only had the huge bag of meatballs (which were not on sale) I have never experienced such a big discrepancy in the sale before.

    • Wendy

Tonight I took a Crystal light coupon in (it was in SS or PG on 4/3 I can't remember) and the coupon was for buy 2, get 1 free, and they had to have someone overide it in the store, but it worked! Is that not normal for HT? Also I saw someone say that if you buy 3 of the Mini-wheat cereals you'll get a CAT for milk…what is a CAT? =) I'm new at this!! =)

      • erin

a catalina coupon. It means that it will print with your receipt at the register when you check out. So to use it you would have to get back in line for a second transaction. (or save it for another trip before it expires).

        • Nccouponmom

I did the deal for the milk twice at two stores. The first one didn't print but the second one did. I called Catalina Marketing and within a few days I had my free milk coupon. Just yesterday I get in the mail ANOTHER one. Making it 3 that I have. I called them and asked what to do. They said it was their fault (duh) and for me to keep it. So I scored 3 in the end.

      • Alison P

Type your comment here.Anytime there is a certain value coupon, they have to override it so that is normal. I used the milk coupon which I am pretty sad about because it only covered $3.59 and the milk was $4.39 so it really wasn't free milk. I did the free milk deal at Giant with General Mills and that covered up to $4.50. I guess I should have known that the milk at HT wasn't cheap enough but I didn't know that it was only $3.59 until it printed :(

        • Mary Ellen

I used a Kellogs milk coupon last week and found milk for 3.89 I think so I think getting milk for .30 to 1.00 is great. I never much paid attention to the catalinas printing out but Jenny has really taught me not to zone out in the checkout lane. I got 3 boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk for like 6.30 which is great for us.

    • LeAnna

I absolutely LOVE HT…my husband is a safeway shopper. So Sunday I needed polenta for a recipe. He spent an hour in safeway. Couldn't find it.(by the way-this is a good way to get hubby out of the house for a few hours…I also needed broccoli rabe and cilantro)-he then went to HT. After looking for quite a while-I begged him to ask someone. The front end manager spent 1/2 hour looking for it w/ him. They finally found it. And she told him that if it was not what I wanted to bring the reciept back-we could keep the product-and she would refund it for him. In this day and age-when CS is mediocore at best-I am constantly surprised at how great they do! I go to the Hoadly road one in Va! Kudos to them!!!

    • Mrs. Ellis

Can coupons be used on the meal deal?

      • LeAnna

I plan on using the $/2. I will buy one meal deal and one pkg at 1/2 price. This should be allowed. Other than the main item-that you are actually purchasing(i.e-this week the hot dogs)-they ussually don't allow q's on these. I would like to hear from anyone who is able to though….

        • Sarah

This meal deal is worded a little differently so I'm not sure how it'll work as far as coupons go.

Usually it says “buy XXX for blank number of dollars, get ABC & DEF free” & thus you can only use a coupon on the initial item (XXX) because the others ring up at no price.

This week (unless it's the way Jenny typed it, and the actual ad is different) it's just “buy these 4 items for a total price of $5.99″…so no telling what will ring up with a price attached, and what will be free. Sometimes they split the discount evenly between the objects.

    • Andio1999

thanks for all your work! Went to HT today, 4 Duncan brownies, 2 newmans salsa, 3 new york crotons, op 3.02!

    • Krazrdhd

The printable Yoplait coupon for .50 off on 4 is a do not double or triple coupon.
So .50/4 makes it .28 each not .15 each

      • Emckenzie24

It does say do not double, but generally HT will double as long as the code on the bottom starts with a 5. The register automatically doubles it, and I have never had a cashier go back in and override it.

        • Angie

Unfortunately Harris Teeter's new policy is to override the “5” DNDs so they won't. Its really if the cashier enforces it or not anymore. Northern Virginia stores seem to override the internet preintable DNDs, but not the ones from the papers.

      • DeeWendy35

but it begins with a 5 not a 9…coupons with a 9 will not double. Coupons starting with 5 will even if it says “do not double”

    • DianaY19

Duncan Hines not on sale at my store. When I look at the “express lane” online, the 19.6 oz size is the regular price of $2 and some of the other “special” ones are on sale for $2.29. Charlotte, nc

      • Laura

I'm finding a LOT of the HT deals posted here each week are NOT available at any of the stores in my area. I'm not sure if they are just regional deals or what, but when I have to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest HT, it becomes extremely frustrating when the deals listed here are not available.

    • Rosie

The Bayer Aspirin coupons says it is redeemable at Rite Aid only.

      • Sarah

If it says “manufacturer” on it anywhere, HT will (should) take it. They recently updated their competitor coupon policy.

    • DeDeBug88

Does anyone have any Purina Cat Chow coupons they are not going to use? Unfortunately, our area never receives the Sunday ones. :-(

      • Brblease

I have the two dollars off two packs that you could have. Please send me an email at brblease@gmail.com if you want them

        • anneconover

I have a few cat coupons if anyone wants them I could drop them in the mail today: Fancy Feast Cans, Whiskas Dry Food, Friskies Tasty Treasures cans, Friskies Dry cat food.

          • Voglerq23

Hi! I would love to have some cat food coupons. I never seem to get them either. I would be moer than happy to send you some other coupons you use or some stamps.

      • Rossjulie

Which insert are they in. I can try to locate them in my pile of inserts too.

      • Guest

Go on eBay, search for 'purina cat coupon', you can buy a BUNCH of coupons CHEAP. Do it NOW and purchase from someone that's located nearby, and they'll get here in time for you to use them during the sale.

And don't forget, if you get to the store and they're out of the variety you want, get a raincheck! That way you can go back ANY TIME and get the same deal! There are frequently cat chow coupons available, so even if other people buy these before you get the chance, you can still get it later!

    • Moving to NC

I am moving to NC within the next month, and am in search of tips/advice for shopping at HT. (Currently a Publix shopper)! Any help would be appreciated!! TIA

      • mamabelbel

My suggestion is to read your coupons carefully. I have cashiers who don't look at the coupons at all as long as they scan fine and some cashiers who examine them and follow them to the letter such as DND even of they start with a 5 and would otherwise double. Also, many HTs will take RRs and coupons from other stores for a dollar amount such at the $5 off $25 purchase CVS coupons but not ECBs. Just check to make sure that the specific HT considers these stores a competitor. Also the meal deals are some times awesome and they do tons of b1g1, b1g2, and b2g3 deals that I love. I always purchase b1g1 items in seperate transactions so that I can use a coupon on each. If I have a coupon that requires you to purchase more than one of an item such as $1/2 and the item is b1g1, it will often go through if you buy 2 different flavors of the item. Will usually be rejected if you buy 2 identical items. Hope this makes sense.

        • Moving to NC

          Thanks :)

          • anneconover

Where in NC? I would love to start a couponers meeting in Eastern NC.

            • Moving to NC

I am moving to Greenville :) Where in Eastern NC are u?

            • anneconover

Hi! I'm in Greenville! Planning my HT trip right now. We already have two HT's in town and are getting a third (they took over the only Kroger). I have everything I need to start a couponers club (time, location, etc.) but not sure how to get the word out to gather a group. Let me know if you need any Greenville advice. I've lived here for about 22 years and love it!

            • Moving to NC

Very Cool :-) My husband is there right now looking for a house for us to move into. And we should be there by the end of the month.
I would love any advice/incite you have on the town, couponing in grocery stores, the best (friendliest) CVS & Walgreens.

            • anneconover

I have found most cashiers to be very friendly and accommodating. The HT on Firetower Rd is really nice and larger than the other one. The new one is not open yet, but based on how big the Kroger was, it should be huge. I have found the CVS's to be easier to coupon at around here. The manager at the CVS on Firetower Rd. knows me now and goes out of her way to get my coupons and deals to work! I don't get that treatment at Walgreens. I would especially avoid the Walgreens across from HT on Firetower. I think the Walgreens on the corner of 10th and Greenville Blvd is better, but honestly I'm more of a CVS person. I don't have trouble at the Food Lion's around here, they are very good with coupons and will do what they can and/or override things to get them to work. You can write me at kennemere (at) greenvillecoc (dot) com if you want to talk more about Greenville.

            • Moving to NC

thank you! I will shoot you an email when I put my kiddos down for a nap!

            • Stephanie G.

Greenville NC here too. I think we had this conversation about a Greenville coupon club:-) before. I would also be interested!

Honestly I miss my Publix:-(!!! HT just does not compare! (I moved from Atlanta last year) I've been sticking to mostly RA in Greenville, and most are OK to deal with, but I am sure they talk about me behind my back.

Stock seems hard to come by at at of the drugstores/grocery stores here.

            • anneconover

OK – I will try to get a club together so bear with me! Please e-mail me at greenvillecouponers (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll add you to the growing list :)

            • sunnyday

I'm a lurker in Greenville, NC. I would love to meet some other savers in G'ville.

            • anneconover

Hi! Believe it or not I've had a few people e-mail me off of this post. I am thinking seriously about a coupon club here in Greenville. I already have a location where we could meet. E-mail me and I'll let you in on the details as I work them out. kennemere (at) greenvillecoc (dot) com.

            • DanaG

I'd love a meeting here in Greenville too!

            • anneconover

            • anneconover

Hi! I'm trying to start a couponers club in Greenville. If you'd like to be added to list to get updates, please e-mail greenvillecouponers@gmail.com so I have your address. Thanks!

        • Kaitlynnmarie

Question? You said that the b1g1 offers you do in separate transactions- will the item go through as half price?

          • mamabelbel

Yes. They will ring up half price. For example, if I have a $1 coupon off a box of cereal and that cereal is b1g1, I buy them one at a time. Then you will get $1 off half price. If you bought 2 boxes at the same time, they will still only let you use 1 coupon. So by buying them seperately, you are saving an extra $1. This is a bit of a pain if you want to by a lot or if you don't go to the store several times a week. You just have to figure out if the inconvenience is worth the extra $. Personally, I rarely buy more than 2 or 3 of any one item anyway unless it is something we use a ton of and it is a deal I rarely see. I normally go to the store about twice a week cause long shopping trips are hard for babies to tolerate and because of the 20 coupon doubling limit. I just grab one each time and it is no big deal.

      • Mary Ellen

It will all depend on your store, There are a lot of stores that let you use a coupon for like 2 items if it is BOGO free, Mine in Aberdeen does not. I have certain cashiers that I love, will wait for them patiently and certain managers that are so above and beyond nice. You will learn which ones are the best quickly. By far in NC I think HT is the best to shop at. Don't know which area you are moving to but also some of the Charlotte stores I notice have triples way more often than we do. This website is a great source for that info because it's usually listed here if that is the case. Hope you enjoy our wonderful state.

        • Moving to NC

Thank you! I am moving from Southwest Florida to Greenville. I know that I will have a HT, a Lowes and a Food Lion. I am coming from only ever shopping at a Publix and Super Target, so trying to figure the in's and outs of the others will be a challange. I have always followed Jenny (Southern Savers) for my Publix, Target, CVS and Walgreens, so I am sure in time I will figure out the others.
Thanks for your advice! I am looking forward to a change and hope to come to Love NC as much as Florida!

          • Proudlyamom

I'm certain you will love NC. I have many friends who moved here from FL (I'm from SC) and LOVE it!! Hope you have a nice move.

    • anneconover

When I go to Target website, the Nescafe coupon is for $1, not $2. This is not redeemable only at Target??

    • G_2

I believe that are still having triple coupons at the Morehead City, NC location too.

      • brit

They are still having triples in MHC :-)

    • Kcreviews

Some good news and bad news from my trip today…the good news is that I found Dole fruit crisp on clearance for $1.67–with the $.75 q from SS 4/3 that makes it only 17 cents! The bad news is that HT (at least mine) no longer accepts $1/2 q's for items that are B1G1. Even though the items ring up at half price, they still won't go through. Bummer.

      • Kcreviews

Oh, also I forgot that on the Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats w/ Fruit in the Middle on sale (where you can use a $1 off printable q and make it $1) there is a REBATE on the inside of the box to send in for a refund of the TOTAL purchase price. That's going to make it a money-maker for me since the “real” price was $2 ($3.99 B1G1) and I only paid $1. I will be getting $2 back in the mail! YAY!

        • Kristina

was there something on the box that said rebate?

      • Marlene

oh they'll take them but they want you to buy 4. sigh.

    • Megan

If a coupon is $1/2 but you only use it for one item, will it still give you $.50 off?? Take for example the Dean's Dip. It says $.77 for one. If you had to buy 2 then it would make it $1.54 and $1 off of that would be $.54, not $.27. Just a little confused. :)

      • Marlene

Megan – if the coupon requires purchase of 2 or more than you have to buy that amount. You can't just buy one.
        $.77 x 2 = $1.54 – $1 coupon = $.54 for 2 OR $.27 each.

        • Megan

          Gotcha! Thanks so much! :)

    • pinkdiva926

where do i find the kraft food and family booklet?!?!?!?!?

      • Laura E.

It was in Bi-Lo several weeks ago. My stores were out of them the first week.

    • lucy

Our store in Hickory, NC is doing triples this week!

      • Emilyscheerhawkins

Where do you see that? I have looked for the add and I haven't been able to find it…

        • Melissa

I usually call them and ask. They have it posted outside the store.

        • lucy

It's on their flyer for the week. I didn't know it until I went to the store.

    • Guest

Question for you HT experts: The eVic special this week, Yoplait yogurts, states Limit 10. Is that limit per card for the week? Per day? Or per transaction?

      • gregt

        per transaction

        • nc_sunshine

In my experience, it has always been per week, per card. I can use my card for 10 (can be split across multiple transactions / days), but if I want another 10 at the eVic discount this week, I have to use my husband's card.

      • Rossjulie

My HT in Morehead City is PER WEEK. I got burnt on this a few weeks back when I was first starting out couponing there.

        • Clbrown_83

You are the 1st person I have seen from Morehead. I am too!!

      • css03

I have it listed on the bottom of my receipt. It says “limit 10 per household”. In the past, I have only been able to 1 deal and then it no longer appears on my receipt.

    • Guest

Has anybody purchased the meal deal this week? Here is my breakdown from my receipt.

Even if I divide the hot dog price in half, $1.96 (since I did get 2) my meal deal comes out to $7.23 before tax.
Sorry for the long post, but what am I missing here?
      Thanks!

      • Jessica

My meal deal came out to 7.99 or 6.18 when you take away the 2nd hotdog package. I noticed the price difference from yours is in the first VIC savings. Mine are all .30 more than yours. Weird.

      • Sdanorth

Interesting. On my receipt, each place you have 1.07, I have 1.37. Mine added up to 6.18. I wonder if it's something that varies by region? But still, wasn't it supposed to be 5.99?

        • Xraychik512

Well, this makes me confused, because it's all supposed to be $5.99 and less with the coupons right? It shouldn't be different by region if its on the ad for $5.99…

      • Sewobsessed

        I thought you only got 1 ballpark….

      • servingChrist

Mine came out to $5.50, I had a 30c higher Vic Savings on each one. Weird. Though my second package of hotdogs didn't come out free, but rather $2.49 :( I realized when I got to the car, but decided it wasn't worth it as they had already had problems with one or two of my coupons and had to call the manager over. I also frustrated to realize that a peelie coupon on my juice had not been scanned. And to top it all, my total came to $35, and I had a $10/$40 coupon, which I wasn't able to use. Grr. First time I have come away from HT irritated with my trip, though a lot of it was my fault. I thought for sure I had over $40 worth of items after coupons.

    • anneconover

anyone interested in joining a couponers club in Greenville, NC please email me at greenvillecouponers@gmail.com. thanks!

    • Karen

Any BJ's members interested in trading coupons? (I have diapers and pet coupons that won't get used! ) I'm in need of the Splenda coupon from BJ's. Thanks

      • leisa2

Karen, I have a Splenda coupon from BJ's that doesn't expire until 5/1 and it's for $3.00 off. Is this the one you are looking for?

        • Karen

          Leisa2,

Yes that's the one. I'd like to collect as many as I can before the end of the month so I can combine it with my manufacture coupons and stock up. Please email me at ritetyme at gmail dot com so we can trade more BJ's items you would like from the April coupon book.

          Thanks again!

    • Liz

Went in to buy Athenos hummus with B1G1 coupon on top on the B1G1 store sale. The cashier wouldn't accept the coupon. Does this line up with the HT coupon policy? I thought I would be able to get 2 for free with the coupon and sale!

      • nc_sunshine

I know the coupon gets posted here, but it's been a long-standing rule of HT that they do not accept any B1G1 coupons that are PRINTED (internet). The only B1G1 coupons they accept are MQs (from Sunday paper, peelie, blinkie, etc.). It has nothing to do with the sale-price being B1G1 combined with B1G1 coupon.

        • Andy

I've read that this, but my HT (Wilmington, NC) accepted the Athenos B1G1 with no questions.

          • Liz

Thank all for responding. The really frustrating thing was that the assistant manager was dissing the online couponing sites. I should have reminded that these sites are giving her store business.

          • Kelly Moore

which HT do you go to? I went to the one on the corner of Gordon and Military Cutoff today and they would not accept my B1G1F printed from the internet.

            • jenn

as an employee of HT…this is true …B1G1F “INTERNET” coupons are not excepted!?!

          • Sdanorth

My HT – Beau Rivage Mkt (?) on Carolina Beach Rd – wouldn't take them last week, and it's their official policy. I did a customer service survey this week and let them know I was disappointed in that policy. I understand not accepting coupons for outright free items, but the B1G1 has a purchase attached, so it doesn't strike me as any different than $$ off wyb 2 of something, dollar-wise. I'm just not going to print the B1G1s anymore, none of the stores I shop at will take them.

      • servingChrist

My HT wouldn't accept my B1G1 coupon from the newspaper for the Air Wick because it was on sale for B1G1 :(

        • Nathansmommy7

          Mine would not either…SO aggravating!

        • Nathansmommy7

This was in Rock Hill's Harris Teeter

    • Linden

Two questions for all the couponers out there :)
      1. I looked up the meal deal policy at HT and it said “one per household”. Is that per week or day? Does it track it on my card?
      2. Has anyone tried to use the .75 cent off two coupon for the Lipton tea that is in the meal deal? Our HT is having triples this week and I thought about buying 2 if that coupon can go towards the jug of tea.

      • Tabandywedding

In the store on the sale tickets (on product) it said one per household per day (or trip, can't remember), in other words, after reading it I thought, oh if I wanted two, I could just come again and get it

    • I have .60/1 Jello Snacks

      Makes the Jello 80 cents!

      • Dawn

        Me too!!

        • Yay! I remember my mom never buying these bc they were too expensive. Not anymore!! :)

      • Proudlyamom

me too…going camping next weekend and these will make a great snack!! yay!

    • Jule

I am sad that my Harris Teeter doesn't have much good deals today…

    • savinmavin

My HT had the Airwick room spray B1G1 so I used the B1G1 coupon and got 2 free. Don't remember what week the q was in, should be in the coupon database. Also saw Excederin Extra Strength and Migraine for $1.99 with Vic card and there was a $1 off coupon on the box. HTH

    • Ilovemykids105

do you think HT considers Family Dollar as a competitor? I'd love to use their $5 off $25 coupon on my groceries tomorrow.

      • Suhnshyne07

NO I was just there today and she said they were removed off of the list recently.

    • Katie

I recently got the $10 off of $50 at HT from Recycle Bank. It says can only used after all other coupons. Does this mean I cant use it first and then my MQs? I never spend $50 AFTER coupons!

      • Carrie_C

ymmv – I used it yesterday but bought meat and did have some beer in there – I was $50 after coupons BUT the cashier didn't make it a point to scan the coupon last, so I would have been fine either way. To help run up my total, I did buy a lot of items that were cheap after coupons and I did probably use more coupons than normal – had a lot of coupons that were over a dollar.

      • CCShad

I would use it on the shrimp deal or some other sale meat. Our HT has a similar coupon every week in their ad, $10 off $40, and the wording is the same about spending the $40 after discounts/coupons applied.

    • Makindeals

fyi- I was in HT here in Charleston yesterday and the police were escorting a woman out of the store, the cashier told me that the woman had been swiping peelies off of boxes the week before and was told to leave, she was back again yesterday and they called police and had her put on trespass notice after she caused a scene

      • Dfritz46

People are so crazy! I would have been so embarrassed

      • CCShad

        Wow! Which store was that?

    • Binker269

There is a Smuckers coupon on coupons dot com for .75/1. That would make them about .65 or if your store triples like my store, free…

      • Melissa

        Thanks

      • Saja

I don't see the smuckers coupon on their site! :( i am out of smuckers blueberry jelly and would love to have that coupon! what area code are you using?

    • Colt22t

I just went to HT and purchased 10 Betty Crocker Pouch Potatoes and should have gotten the $2 catalina. Did not happen. I don't think that deal works. Maybe it should be removed from above.

    • guest

If anyone got an e-VIC special for $1/1 ounce McCormick vanilla, you can combine it with the current BOGO on vanilla. This means you can get 2 for $1. Use the $1/1 McCormick item coupon and they are free. Plus, you get a catalina for $1.50 off your next purchase.

      • ess113

        I got 2/$1, also! And the $1.50 catalina =)

      • Yazpistachio

Does anyone know how HT calculates who will get which evic deal? Obviously not everyone gets the same evic coupons– do they offer them according to your buying preferences?

        • Sarah

Yup. For instance, I'm pregnant so I might be more likely to receive baby-related eVIC specials (because of what I've been buying)…and I don't have a pet, so generally I don't get dog/cat food deals (because I have no buying history).

    • Amrcrawford

Just wanted to say that I have noticed that on the HT facebook page they always seem to be on top of customer opinions. I am thinking of posting how dissapointed I am about their coupon policy when it comes to bogo items. It drives me wild when I have a $1/2 coupon that I can't use because the item is on sale. Also the fact that the online coupons only come off sometimes. I feel like I am always having to talk to customer service. I used to never complAin but now that I am really watching every dime i realize how often things get messed up. I'm about to switch grocery stores so I don't have to feel stressed everytime I hit the checkout line. Am I the only one feeling this way ?

      • April

I know its not policy but with bogo- they charge 1/2 price for each item so truly you are paying for each item. If they don't want you using the coupons then the first item should ring up full price and the other 0.00

        • Andrea

I'm beginning to really dislike HT too. Each week they have a different policy. And the one about not being able to use 2 coupons on B1G1 drives me nuts since they get that money back from the manufacturer and because both items ring up 1/2 price not full price and $0.

          • LeAnna

While I agree with you all about the two coupons-I can say that I have found a way around using a $/2-on the b1g1's. Buy two different types of whatever it is. For instance-if it is soup-buy one chicken noodle and one tomato. It never beeps that way. This would not work w/ one of those-'nasty-coupon hater cashiers'-b/c they probably live to catch something like that. I ussually shop around 4-5 when the p/t cashiers are there. But more importantly-IF one rang at full price and the other 0-we would not have the option of purchasing one at 1/2 price. I find this often makes for better deals. And when I have q's for $/1-I get it at 1/2 price- minus coupon…and sometimes I only need one. I, personally would not like them to change the policy-b/c then we would be forced to buy two.

            • They changed that now- according to their policy B1G1 free (and “like items”) now mean ALL flavors

            • LeAnna

Now I am wondering even about like items. I went tonight….I got three of the newmans own salsas-diff varieties/3 kellogs mini wheats-also dif varieties. Q's went through fine. I also had gotten 3 velveeta buffalo flavored velveeta. B/c they were the same-I held two out-to purchase in seperate transactions. But in the 2nd trans. , she rang them both up. I told her-''my second coupon won't take-b/c it is b1g1' -she said-let me just try. And TO MY AMAZEMENT it took off both q's! no beeps-nothing! I was wondering if maybe they are changing their policy on that.

      • Ljr4061

Yes, the Facebook page for Southern Savers coupons sometimes don't print. Are we suppose to complaint to FB? I really don't know what to do!!

    • CCShad

Blue Moon Beer and Shrimp rebate – At my store (17 North, Mt. Pleasant, SC) there is a $8 rebate form on a display of Blue Moon beer. If you buy a 12 pack ($13.99) and a pound or more of shrimp, you can get $8 back. I was getting the B2G3 shrimp, so I threw in the beer as well for the rebate! The shrimp ends up being about $4.60/lb if you have a $10 off $40 HT coupon, and then the BM beer is $6 after rebate. I thought a pretty good deal!

    • Yauniek-J

Does anybody here live in northern virginia? I live in alexandria and need some help. I also noticed that a lot of the deals on here are the same in my store but a lot of things are different.

      • Arineve

i live in MD but shop at the Leesburg Harris Teeter. you can email me if you have questions…arineve@gmail.com. I LOVE HT so I hope I can help!

I llive in Alexandria and I am an expert thanks to southernsavers!!! email me! sdjanelle@yahoo.com

      • LeAnna

I am in No Va-but go to the Hoadly Rd store in Manassas…I love this store. The manager is great-I often see her and the other managers actually stocking shelves! The day time cashiers are a bit 'coupon' unfriendly…but I have also heard some crazy stories about pple being very mean to them! Couponers can be crazy at times..haha

    • Nathansmommy7

Purina Cat Chow Cat Food was a misprint and it is stated at the front of the store. They are actually 2/$15.

    • Donna

My HT informed me today that they do not accept BOGO coupons from the internet. I live in the Charlotte area.

      • Lisabluedevil

I had the exact same thing happen at my HT in Durham, NC when I tried to use mine on the Athenos Hummus. The manager pushed it through for me, but I'm not sure that I will be comfortable using one again. My cashier said she was told not to allow any internet coupons with the word “free” on them.

      • Djrose28270

Mine has always been like that. Live over towards matthews. Some are worse than others(for example one HT told me I could only use one coupon on a BOGO because I was getting the other one for free.)

        • Yazpistachio

Was that the HT over in Stallings? I went there, and they said the same thing. I live south of Waxhaw. Thankfully the HT on 521 in SC is great about allowing more than 1 Q per BOGO.

          • Jsjpope

I was at the SC store on 521 (Indian Land) today and they would not take the $.75/2 Q for Ballpark Franks. They said since the Ballpark Franks are on sale for B1G1, I had to by 4 packs (2 sets of B1G1) not just 2 as the Q stated. I know that you can not use 2 coupons (1 for each pack) since they are B1G1, but I have never been told that I could not use a “$/2” coupon before.

            • Yazpistachio

Well, for that store, like most HTs I think it really depends on the time of day you go, and which cashier you get. I've had the best luck in the evenings.

            • Mcgradyc

I find the young kids who don't care about coupons..

      • shaz

you don't live in northern charlotte by chance. iwant someone close to trade coupons with.thank you :)

        • Mcgradyc

          I live in Huntersville Shaz

    • Daneile

YAY!! Finally I get to join in on the McCormick Spice fun. Paper this morning has 75 cents off- double to $1.50 off!

      • CCShad

Does anyone know when the McCormick catalina deal expires? Thanks!

        • Gloria9000

          Today I believe April 10

        • Daneile

I did it today and it still worked. Got 3 boxes of food coloring for $3.00, plus a $2.50 catalina, making my total 50 cents!

    • SD.

News Flash! I just got back from HT in Wilmington NC store# 162 Hanover Center and they refuse to take Walgreen RR. The midget assistant manager says they are not a competitor. Even though I was buying dog food and windex. Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem. By the way Walgreens is about a mile down the road.

      • Fromkhadija

I wasn't aware that any other store took Walgreens RR. Who else takes them? Thanks. By the way, A friend told me HT is tripling coupons right now but not advertising it.

        • Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods and Walmart! :) The best thing about RR's!

        • Mdavis1205

My HT only takes the ones that say ” $ of your oder” I just used a $3RR from wags this morning at HT..

        • Melissa

          where are they tripling ?

          • Auntiecoco

I know for today (today's the last day of the sale ad) the HT in Hickory NC and Hendersonville, NC are tripling. HTH

      • HaydenRossi

Got the same reply in Fayetteville, NC–no RR's accepted there either. (I asked after a not-so-great Wags experience.)

      • Felicia

I had a problem with HT and rite aid rewards. The manager here said that they have to be in the same parking lot to be considered a competitor!! My rite aid is about 1/4 mile from HT.

      • I used my RR at Harris Teeter this week. Store at Tryon & Walnut in Cary, NC

      • Nona

I know what manager you are talking about. She said that LAST summer too! She stopped taking them a year ago, but some of the employees will still take them. It really just depends on who you get!!! Also, I dont think that calling her a “midget” is very nice because she one of the nciest managers at HT!

    • If there is anyone in the Winston-Salem, NC area please “like” the Winston-Salem Couponers page on Facebook. I just created it and I would like to have a group of people to talk to about the local deals. Also maybe any local tips! Maybe suggesting any clearance items found exc. Trading coupons or just Q&A! :)

      • LeAnna

Great idea…I would love to do a page here for Nor Va. How does one create a FB page?

        • Sdjanelle

leanna, I live in alexandria VA and I have a couponing group on FB. Its called couponing fun or look me up by name and I will add you. janelle bowles

          • Elaine

I'm in Arlington and would like to join as well.

          • Rita

            Hi Janelle !

I just requested to join your FB page ! I'm looking forward to being a part of the fun. Rita

          • LeAnnaShaw

Thanks Janelle-I just requested to be in your group!!! fun fun

    • Cjc11jan98

I'm in Northern VA–if something is on sale on this list but not showing a discount at the store, does this mean the sale is unadvertised? Or is it just a difference because I'm in VA?

      • LeAnnaShaw

It could be. I went today and got the meal deal. I also thought the hot dogs were b1g1(maybe I read wrong). I had a $/2. So I was just going to get one at 1/2 price and the other included in meal deal. But they were like $4. And I have also noticed that sometimes the prices at my store(hoadly road) are a bit higher. I think it just depends…..I go w/ my list in mind..q's n hand-and if something is different…I don't really worry! From what I understand-Jenny does not even have a HT where she lives..so this is a real treat!

    • Heather

Ok….not new to couponing, but new to HT. I've read through all of the comments and am getting mixed signals. What do I need to know to be a savvy shopper at this store?? I just moved to NC from SC where I religiously shopped at Publix. I am never going to find a store comparable to that, but would like to do the best I can with what I have to work with. So any suggestions?? I plan on making my first trip tomorrow morning….
      Thanks!!

      • Mindy

I could be wrong, but Publix doesn't double coupons, correct? If that's the case, you are in for a thrill with HT. The best deals are listed right here on this site, along with coupon match-ups. Every coupon up to $1 is doubled daily, and about once/month we have “super doubles”, where coupons up to $2 are doubled (so $1.50/1 becomes $3/1, etc). You can do VERY well here using coupons that double on sale items. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. :)

      • luv2shop

Heather, I used to long for a Publix. My sister coupons also in AL and we compare notes and I think that with the doubling/super doubling, HT is better (though the deli is not as affordable). Most of the stores here don't accept Target like Publix, but the straight doubling is better. If you have a Lowe's in your area, check them out as well because they double up to 98/99 as well. They tend to have better cereal deals. Also, make sure that you sign up for eVic. You don't want to miss those deals… like 15 cent yogurt this week!

Unlike Publix (per my sister), HT and Lowe's both mark down meat, produce and bakery items close to expiration so you can get deals there. Some stores mark down in the am and some in the pm so check with the department heads as to the best time to shop for these bargains.

The store brand is really good, so if you can't catch a sale, you can rely on these to be good. The bakery is also very good. If you are much north of Charlotte, you'll have to find a substitute for Golden Flake potato chips and Blue Bell ice cream. I wish I had a suggestion for that, but there really is no substitute for those 2 things! Good luck!

      • Heather

Thanks for the input ladies! I have already made 1 trip to Lowes last week…and I'm hoping that it was an off week for their sales ad. I got a few things, but nothing like I could get at Publix. I am making my first trip to HT today. I'm sure it will take me a few times to get the hang of it, but I'm hoping to get some great deals. I'm excited about the double coupons up to $0.99. Publix only doubled up to $0.50, but they also take any competitor coupon (Walgreens, CVS, Target, Whole Foods, Food Lion…etc) and you can stack a mfg q on those. So I'm anxious to get started at HT…..wish me luck!!

        • Heather

I find the best deals too at HT because of the doubling/super doubling policies. I live in the Triad area in NC and we really only have 3 main stores to choose from~ HT, Lowes, and Food Lion, and I do much better at HT than either Lowes or FL. I do shop at all 3 ( because they are within a mile of each other) but usually leave Lowes or FL with only a few deals.

    • savinmavin

Lowes Foods takes the B1G1 internet coupons, used 2 on the Land O Frost lunch meats this week (the ones that are already B1G1) got 4 and just paid the tax. Maybe if we complain enought HT will change their policy and allow these q's to be used.

    • Stinky

These deals are making my balls tingle! Yay!

    • Anon

      you sick bastard

    • Mature Adult

It is so nice to talk with adults on here, oh I see someone let their children play on the computer.

    • confused

can someone explain the price beside the B1G1, You are getting the free one right? or is it saying don't get the free one and you are getting the one cheaper? I know stupid question and probably really over thinking it, but confusing me none the less !!!! HELP

      • Kmohr22

when harris teeter has a B1G1 they ring up at half price. Hope this helps

      • Heather

Usually when they have an item B1G1F they ring up half price each~ note I ran into problems this week using a B1G1F coupon on a B1G1F item! the manager stopped me and explained they would no longer allow this since I am basically getting 3 for free, even though they each rang up half price. I <3 HT though and will respect their coupon policies in the future.

    • m patterson

Has anyone been successful in purchasing the Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese w/ Touch of Philadelphia, 8 oz. These items are not showing up on the HT circular I have and when i used the $1/2, I paid $3++ per item.

    • Melissa

SO SO SO excited!!! I live in Surf CIty NC and a brand new HTopens tomorrow at 8 am!!!!! No more 35 mile trips to Wilmington for couponing!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

      • LeAnnaShaw

enjoy-I love having a HT right around the corner…and I am fiercely loyal!!!

    • Rpkm83

how do I get the 10 dollars off coupon at HT>?

      • Eamullens

buy the wednesday post and courier paper. go early. my husband sometimes has to go to two gas stations as early as 800am. people tend to buy more than one. We buy 4, 2 for our family and 2 for a friend who lives outside mount pleasant. We are a family of 6 so I can justify buying 2 papers. If you do not live in Mount Pleasant, they don't usually put them in the papers, like west ashley, james island and such hince why I buy for a friend who lives in west ashley. hope this helps.

        • LeAnnaShaw

you are so sweet-but I would not worry about how many papers you buy-or even justify it. IMO-you could buy 50 and not bat an eyelash! Just make sure you recycle! LOL!
