Kohls Discovery Kids Toy Sale

Get 50% off:

If you have a Kohls Card, you can also use code GINGERBREAD for an additional 15% off or DECEMBERPYD for 20% off!  Almost all of these items make great gift ideas.  What are the best deals you have found to use your Kohls Cash on?

    • Tarac98

      what is kohls cash?

      • katie

If you spend a certain amount of money ($50) you get money back ($10 usually but with black friday it was $15) in the form of Kohl’s Cash. It is printed on a slip of paper and you can use it on allotted dates. For example, last friday my mom spent over $400 and since Kohl’s was giving $15 for every $50 spent, she got back $120 Kohl’s Cash. It’s a great incentive to shop there when the deals are good.

        • katie

And you don’t have to have a Kohl’s credit card to get this money…anyone can get it. I don’t have a credit card but I still got back $30 Kohl’s Cash.

      • And the Kohl’s Cash doesn’t print out all the time, just during their advertised periods, which are quite often!

    • Sabrina

I’m excited for this because I have a $10 birthday card that came in the mail yesterday, and $30 in Kohls Cash!  But I can’t use my card until Thursday.

Kohls Cash is where you get extra “money” to use on your next purchase.  You usually get $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 purchase, but during Black Friday they bumped it up to $15.  You only receive it if you have a Kohls credit card.

      • Janell

You can get the Kohl’s cash without having the Kohl’s card… at least you could on Black Friday. I specifically asked the cashier and it was with any form of payment :)

      • Blate

FYI- you don’t have to have a Kohl’s card to get Kohl’s cash, I don’t have one and get it all the time.  :)

        • 1bigsaver

This might be different from store to store because mine doesn’t.

    • I went to Kohl’s yesterday and found some backpacks 90% off, and some men’s shirts on the clearance rack for my oldest. The toys weren’t that great of a price even at 50% off, they were all marked so high to begin with! A similar cash register to the one Jenny pictured was on sale a few weeks ago at Walmart for $19.99. I’m sure there are some awesome deals to be had, just make sure you price compare first :) I love Kohls, I had $30 in KC and the $10 birthday card from my sis in law, who wasn’t going to use it. Yay!

      • Purdy

FYI, Kohl’s also matches competitor’s prices!

People need to check with their local store because mine doesn’t.

Does anyone know – if you use your Kohl’s cash to buy a gift and that person returns it do they still get store credit for the price of the item or do they deduct out the Kohl’s cash?

        store credit

    • Lily

Does anyone know that if I return the items paid by Kohls cash? can I get store credit for the returned item or I won’t get any refund? Thanks.

      • Rudydoescakes

        Store credit

        • Jen

Actually, you will lose the value of the Kohl’s cash even if you take store credit. Right on the receipt it gives you the return value of each item. Mine does anyway.

      • Karrierock

Sometimes it is a better deal to exchange an item without a receipt at Kohl’s.  They go by the current retail price, not sale price.  For example, you pick up an item that retails @ 54.99.  It’s on sale half off ($27.49), take 15% off (sometimes 20% or 30% even!) making it $23.37. Subtract $15 Kohl’s cash if you have it, final price $8.37.  Now you can return it and get the $8.37 back and lose all Kohl’s cash and discounts or find another item that retails EXACTLY $54.99. It could be on sale or not and from any department, it doesn’t matter. Even exchange it at customer service.  When I worked there 6 years ago you could even do exchanges in the department.  No waiting in line if you find an associate. Not sure if that is still true.  One time I bought a toy for about $6, it broke and I did not want another.  The only thing I could find with the same retail price was Docker’s Khakis for my husband.

I needed to exchange a shirt that I had used $10 Kohl’s cash on, but also the price was also lower on Black Friday… I went prepared to exchange or return, unsure which was better because I didn’t know how they’d handle the Kohl’s cash. The lady immediately saw which was best- I was refunded what I paid oop AND given a store credit for my $10 Kohl’s cash that I used- then I repurchased it for the lower price which didn’t even use the store credit, which I used towards additional purchases which earned more Kohl’s cash :) I’m glad I bought the wrong size the first time!

I have never been much of a Kohl’s shopper before, but have a feeling that might be changing! I had gotten $45 in Kohl’s cash last week (could have been more if I had combined some orders, but oh well…). For fear that I would let them expire, I went to Kohl’s yesterday and got 4 of the large Yankee candles and a nice picture frame for my Big Sis, Little Sis grandaughters, so cute. I used one B2G2 Yankee candle coupon and my $45 Kohl’s cash, the candles rang up at $18.74; I paid .50 cents out of pocket!! Woo hoo!!!!!

How long does stuff typically take to get to you from the time you order it? I just placed an order for shoes and it gave me an estimated delivery date of Dec 8-13. I hope it doesn’t take until the 13th…that’s 2 weeks! I’ve never ordered from Kohls before.

      • Anonymous

I ordere a bunch of stuff Black Friday and have already received half of my order. They are usually much faster than they say!

CON20HH4 gives you 20% off without using a Kohls card.

    • hmcgillem

anyone have a free shipping code?

      • Keri S.

Free Shipping with any $50 purchase…

    • Jfjuly24

I love Kohl’s, but their prices are not that great lately. For example, the Discovery Kids Ice Cream Maker is the same price at Bed Bath & Beyond (without BB&B claiming it’s a 50% discount.) Anyone else think they’ve inflated their “regular” prices recently?

    • Liliana

I wonder why I have never received birthday gift card. I have kohl’s card.
