      First?

      • Teresab270

I started having Wal-mart price match items and use my coupons. I made off like a bandit a month ago. (its the only store in my town) but now they give me a hard time when I ask for the price match. I dont care I have had them call the manager a few times, and got what I wanted. But now after watching Extreme Couponing I think I might have to check out K-mart. If I have to drive 30 miles to Kroger why not shop at kmart? Last week they doubled coupons up to 99 cents, but I didnt see them listed here. Also everyone buys their beef from Mexico or Canada and your pork is from South America, welcome to farming 101. Soon every thing will be imported.

    • Ahennum

Can anyone tell me why Kroger has opted to start selling ground beef from Mexico?  GROSS!

      • KayBee

And ANOTHER reason I’m glad I kicked the beef habit! LOL!

      • mel

Another reason not to shop at Kroger!

      • KrK

Another reason to buy your beef locally. Kroger had a recall on ground beef last summer, it’s just not worth the risk. And grass fed beef even though you will spend more, taste’s way better.

        • amanda

i bought turkey meat last week from them used it to make meat sauce it was so gross it tasted so old. i had to throw my whole dinner away. refuse to buy kroger meat anymore i just buy the name brand turkey

          • Bobbie

I went to buy Kroger’s turkey bacon last week and it was gray. yeah, that was pretty gross.

          • mary

amanda, i did the same thing! it smelled really funky and i just couldn’t eat or serve it. yuck.

      • Sharwinberry

I buy my ground beef from Sam’s Club in the long bulk package – angus beef.  I divide it up into patties or 1 or 2# sections for various meals.  There is hardly any fat!!

        • Shelly C

Thats the ground beef I use also and its great! Plus a great price. Cooks up well.

      • Savin$Mom

Check into purchasing a side of beef from a local farmer — you can have the meat cut to your specifications – you just have to have the freezer space.  Oh – an all grassfed means is that they are fed pasture only, no corn.  Feedling a steer a diet with corn and hay (usually mixed) makes the meat taste better and is usually more tender.  If you are concerned about antibiotic use just ask the local farmer….  most of the time they do not fed antibiotics unless the actually need it (usually they don’t) because it just adds to the feed cost.  And yes I know – we farm and have a beef herd.

        • Janice

Agreed. I purchase a quarter of a cow (half of a side of beef) once a year for around $500, and make it last me almost a year. I know what the cows are fed, and where they are processed- I have even been to the place they are processed. You never have to worry about any “mystery meat” when you know the people it comes from!

        • Guest

Yes, and don’t forget your local butcher shops as well, if you don’t know a farmer.  I bought 10 lbs for $20, then spent abt 90min making/cooking 4 meatloaves and frying up the rest.  Split up the cooked/seasoned beef into 1lb portions in freezer bags and froze everything.  Now I have approx 10-12 meals of meatloaf, easy tacos, meat sauce, casseroles, etc.  I love this trick of only having to fry it up once.

      • Khjbvcoupons

the last time i went to krogers which has been over a month because they continue to advertise cigarettes… was looking for ground beef.. they ONLY had krogers brand of ground beef and the price was out the roof… i refuse to purchase ground beef from krogers and now to think that they are importing it from mexico… wonder if the illegal american work force in mexico was included in the processing jobs..

        • Cgpres

That sure is poor way of of saying you don’t like Kroger! I guess it’s ok to advertise alcohol which by the way kill more innocent people than cigarettes ever will. Non smokers need to get off your high horse and stop thinking your better than everybody else because you don’t smoke. I guess you won’t shop anywhere that sells them either? Better start raising a farm.

        • Terri

Did you forget to take your meds this morning or are you always that grumpy?

      • Ahjohns

So glad my husband will be taking our two bulls to be butchered next Monday.

      • Mommyshortstuff

I like ingles meat. Always fresh and good. Plus ingles is just a mile from my house! Even better:)

Are mid-Atlantic Krogers the only stores doing the 20% off promo starting tomorrow if you spent $700 over five weeks in November and December?  Was this done last year?  If anyone participated last year….  Am I holding my breath hoping for a good sale next week to use with my 20% off?  (Because this week’s sale is not impressive!)

      • my roomate’s half-sister makes $73 hourly on the internet. She has been fired from work for 8 months but last month her paycheck was $9004 just working on the internet for a few hours. Read more on this site… CashLazy.com

    • Marcnmoni

Krogers weekly ad has been getting worst and worst by the week. I’ve stopped shopping there almost completely. If i’m not getting a great (almost free) deal from there I dont even bother going to the store. Publix has now  become my main and only grocery store.  Hopefully with the new year they’ll get better.

      • Zebby

        agreed

      • amanda

me too, my kroger use to be so friendly now i hardly even want to shop there. they act like when i use my coupons that im a hassle. the ads have not been great in for such a long time. i think the last time they had a really great sale is when they had that p&g sale a few months back.

      • Mstw

        Couldn’t agree more!

    • EASLEY54

NOT ALL OF US ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A PUBLIX .

      • Whitney

Then let’s be thankful for what we do have:)

    • DianneL

My Kroger in Dallas,GA has their new label (can’t remember the name) toilet paper on sale, 12 pks $3.99.

      • Mcook

Thats the worst toilet paper I’ve ever used.  I wouldn’t recommend it even on sale!!

        • DianneL

The Home Sense you don’t like? It’s just like extra soft Scott tissue. The worst you’ve ever used? Then you haven’t tried Publix brand or Marcel, have you? :)

      • love it

The Home Sense is my favorite: not too thin, not too thick, not too sticky, not too anything… and as far as I can tell, one of the most affordable. I stock up every time it’s on sale.

    • Tnjcent

There is a new Ad today in the Tennessean newspaper which advertises the 4 day sale starting today(12/28) and ending 12/31. There are a lot more items listed than posted above. Don’t know if this sale extends to other regions served by Kroger…..Good deals!

    • Ctcjsbag5

Once again the Kroger ad stinks!  No mega events in a while.  I haven’t shopped at Kroger in a few weeks.  So sick of the customer service and everything is sky high.  Publix is the way to go.

    • Swmntchr

Remind me on Kroger policies – if I do a B1G1 – do I have to get both or is it like Publix where I will just get the half price when I buy 1.

      • DianneL

It’s like Publix. You only have to buy one and you’ll get it half price.
