are kroger and dillons the same store?

      • Shauntelle2000

        yes and king super

    • isnt it all the same stuff?

      • Kristen

I was thinking the same thing! I hope this means the Kroger I go to will be well stocked for me since it is 45 minutes away. I won't make it there until early next week (our sales run wed-thurs, so I am going in at the end of week #1). Fingers crossed!!!

      • Pretty much all the same. The ad is different on some of the regular sale items, but it is Kroger's trend to run the same deals for two weeks at a time.

        • Chris

Thanks for all you do Jenny! This means I can save some of my pasta and chip Qs and go back later if they give me trouble today. Thanks again!

    • Babythornton

will kroger actually let you make a profit?

      • Chris

What they do is take the Qs off at the end of the order so if there was overage between the Q and the price of the item it actually comes off the order total – at least that's the way they do it here in Atlanta.

Note that if your Qs get down into the tax then a supervisor has to come and override so it will accept the Q – this applies at both Kroger and Publix. I avoid this by getting down to that point and calculating how much I have left in Qs and then adding a store gift card to the total (for like $5 or something). This allows the computer to continue to apply Qs without requiring an override until you get to the very end (like the last Q or 2). I've gotten $20 in gift card while only paying $0.26 on the order total. So doing your calculations, with tax, ahead of time AND again while you shop (just in case a price is off a little) is crucial. And watch that register!

        • Cami

Not at the Kroger at the Hudson bridge location in Stockbridge…they ADJUST COUPONS!!! They really annoy me so I don't go there any more. Very unfriendly toward couponers.

          • Chris

Seriously? Wow that SUCKS. I go to the S Cobb Drive at Concord Rd and the Atlanta Rd locations in Smyrna and have never had that happen. Although I found out from the Atlanta Rd location they aren't going to allow more than 6 Qs for 6 like items anymore – not sure why some stores are doing this and others aren't (or just aren't enforcing the policy).

I'll say that Target and Staples do the same thing – they apply the coupon or portion of the coupon across the items themselves instead of to the order as a whole. Can be VERY irritating when you've calculated the order out to within a nickel and then it's way off at the register.

            • Greg

This seems counter-productive. I can understand on doubling for overage because thats out of their pockets. But coupons in general don't cost the store anything. They get reimbursed plus postage. So call it ignorance or spite(I don't know why they would be mad), they are alienating customers. It seems that the coupon shows that glorify stockpiling and working the system are having an adverse affect on normal everyday couponers.

            • Lorannclark

I agree! I can buy a bottle of shampoo for cheap and before I need more, it's already on sale again. No need to over stock- just stockf orthe space Ihave .

            • Chris

Yeah I just had this happen to me at Target yesterday. They adjusted the coupon to the price of the item so I was shorted $0.03 per Q. Granted it’s only 3 cents and it worked out to only be 36 cents more but it’s the principal – they get the face value of the Q back plus a handling fee from the manuf when they redeem the Q.

I actually asked about that and why I was being shorted and the cashier, who went and asked a manager about the Q to begin with, said that was what they were supposed to do and had no comment or explanation about the addl 3 cents they were keeping.

Notice that Extreme Couponers comes on right before Hoarding: Buried Alive? That should say something right there – the one show I watched where the twins had something like 4000 diapers but had no children said it all.

          • guest

I guess it depends on the cashier, I shop there and they never adjust my coupons!

          • Guest

Same here in Knoxville, now coupons that double automatically adjust to make items only free. It happened when the computers stopped allowing paper and e coupons.

            • L14589

I shopped at the Chapman Highway Knoxville store last week and it gave me overage for Nivea.

        • Jbuttimer

It all is up to the cashier at the Kroger on L'vill Suanee & brown rd. I've had several force coupons through without a manager coming over.

      • Val

The Krogers where I live are so crazy the district manager has set a rule that you aren't allowed to use any coupon if it is more than 75% of a product’s value (ANY coupon– even the ones that come in the inserts!). Of course, most of the cashiers don't bother to enforce this, but I wouldn't try to walk out of my Kroger paying nothing let alone “make a profit”. Good luck though! I'd ask your local Kroger what there policy is.

        • Ashley

I asked my Kroger – Morehead, KY today…about 20 minutes ago, for a copy of their coupon policy. I was told that they don't have a written policy, but that I could not combine paper coupons with e-coupons, and cannot get an overage regardless of the amount of my coupon. I feel however….that they are keeping their policy very vague so that they can change it as it benefits them! And, I wonder if they are turning in the coupons to get reimbursed by the manufacturers for the full amount, even though they may have only given the customer the price of the item. I'm getting fed up with their attitudes too…

    • guest

Jenny, have you heard or do you know the new policy for publix, kroger and wal-mart?

    • Serattcoupons

Has anyone found the Larabar $1/4 coupon? The $1/2 has reached its print limit.

    • Llubesky

Does anyone know how Kroger does their Rainchecks for the mega event? I have gone everyday this week, and they are still out of some things. I am afraid that they won't be able to take the 5$ if I buy 10 which I can totally understand. But if they do, I can stop making a trip once a day to see.

      • Peggy

When I asked for a raincheck, I mentioned that I had planned on including this item in the mega event and the customer service rep deducted the 0.50 from the cost of the item.

        • Prsol

You are lucky Peggy. My Kroger would only issue rainchecks with a big note saying that I must buy 10 of those items in order to get the discounted price! :-(

(regardless of the mega event allowing a mix-and-match, they insist that I will need 10 mega sale items, and since I am only requesting a raincheck for one of them, they keep writing the 10 qty!!! Drives me nuts. Where would I put 10 Phili cooking cremes when they are finally back in stock?

Not feeling the luuuv at Krogs!

      • GracieMae

@362053118c3429a36281e6207100a92b:disqus : My Kroger won't issue a raincheck unless the item is specifically listed in the sales paper. I tried to get one for the Nivea this past week and they wouldn't issue one.

Previously, though, I was able to convince the customer service lady to write up the rain check for dog food to be the price
        as if I'd purchased 10.

        • Mika

I got a rain check for the Nivea body wash and they simply put the price as the price after the Mega sale discount!

      • Janetbugg

well my Kroger here in Virginia will give you a rain check for the mega item for the price it would be after the 5 dollars comes off- for example recently they had scrubbing bubbles for 1.49 (after the extra $5 off for buying 4) so they gave me a raincheck so I could get them for that price after the sale.

        • Kpkayle

I'm in Virginia too and my Kroger gave me a rain check on a mega item. But I had to buy ten to get it. Which is fine by me, as I have nine coupons.

    • Becrentz2

Does anyone know why some of the printable coupons won't print? Usually it is on the ones that don't take me to a brand's website. It will say they have printed and then won't. Is it just me?

      • Bnorr00

I'm having the same problem. Do they not reset or something? Is there an answer?

      • Prsol

Try re-loading the page, sometimes when I click on the BACK button of my internet browser, it helps. HOWEVER, most of the times, when you get that error message, it just means that they have reached the number of coupons allowed for that promo (they just like to annoy us with that funny message about “you have reached your limit”)

    • Bonjour4paris

My kroger in Alpharetta programmed their registers so the price of the coupon would only double up to the amount the item is on sale for!

Example: kraft bbq sauce mega sale price, .49 my coupon was for .45 which should have doubled to give me .90 off, the register only doubled it .04 cents to bring it up to the .49, so I was basically giving them a coupon for .45 cents and they doubled only .04 more cents! They also took all the Ronzoni quick cook pasta off the shelves, so you could not use your .55 off coupon for it.

I will be shopping at Publix MUCH more now, Alpharetta Krogers are losing my business and I am telling all my friends to beware!

Same as the kroger in Marietta! Not the mention they have become the coupon police..tellers are very rude and act like your taking the money out of their own pocket.

      • Foo

@aa4d3371bf1db0a79a1f8fb67b2f6f08:disqus Kroger policy is to not give overage so this does not surprise me. Also, the 0.45/1 coupon for Kraft BBQ sauce from last Sunday's paper was for a larger size than what was on sale so you were lucky that they took it at all.

        • Jellibean939

my coupon said .45 off ANY kraft bbq in Charlottesville VA

      • jenni min

I am so happy somebody other than me realized this. I stopped shopping at Kroger for over 4 month now. They make you feel like doing a crime by using coupons and attitude is soooooooooooooooo rude at all Alpharetta and Johns Creek Krogers.

      • Jackie

Oh yea, i went first thing in the morning and only the self scan was open…so i went to the woman watching over the isle and told her i had coupons knowing that you cant scan coupons…she looked at me and said “I am not scanning coupons” and then proceeded to walk away. I asked her for a store manager and she said i am not going to get him. Nice right?

        • Kenzbug

OMG! Seriously?? I would no doubt call back and complain! That even makes me mad, and I wasn't there. What is it with Kroger? I hope Publix puts them out of business! (They are building them left and right next to Krogers)

      • Doeycat

Even though Publix had been my favorite store since I have been couponing, I do go to Krogers every once in a while. I have not had a bit of problems when giving coupons. In fact they will tell me how much I've saved and act like they are proud of me. I am not sure about the double coupon thing though, I need to check my last receipt, but I think that they do double all manufactor Q'a. But I need to double check. I go to the Krogers in Lawrenceville on the corner of 20 and Ridge Rd. You might want to try them.

      • Mlbam6

Why would you accuse a store of clearing shelves? Kroger lost money on the barbecue sauce by .04 cents per bottle. The pasta was not a money loser for them because it cost only .49 cents, the manufacturer would reimburse the store .55 cents for your coupon and they do not double over .50 cents. So go ahead and tell your friends to beware of the deals at Kroger. You get “FREE” barbecue sauce and pasta but be quick because so many people are after “FREE” food that the shelves clear fast!

        • Redamyer1

Have you ever noticed that most stores have the same things on salle around the same time??? well, it has to do with the vendor and manf. co. the more a store warehouse orders then they make good deals. they co.s get their money bake later from them. i know this from my hubby working 35 plus years in the grocery business.

      • annon

Using that Kraft bbq sauce coupon for the small bottle is coupon fraud. What is with people and their inability to read? So poor you for not getting overage when you didn't use the coupon correctly.

    • Lisabluedevil

My shortcuts coupon did not come off today for the Nivea so I asked for a refund. I see on their website that there is the ability to submit a dispute form if this happens. Have any of you ever done this? I might try again this week and submit the form if the coupon doesn't come off. Anyone have experience with this?

      • Lorannclark

I contacted kroger by e-mail regarding same type of issue (but based on a similar situation even prior to that, I knew they would want alot of extra info) I would include your receipt info (like store location, time of purchase, item in question, your kroger card number, transaction number, etc. They will research and get back to you. For my 2nd situation, having provided them with all of this info , they gave me a credit amount on my kroger card in the amount of the coupon. hope this helps .

        • Krogerguest

I had this happen last week. The response I got from Kroger was that the Shortcuts coupons didn't come off because the price of the product was less than the coupon amount. So I'm planning on returning the wash since I got two others for free with my paper coupons.

          • Lisabluedevil

Thanks, everyone. I should have said I returned the itme rather than saying I asked for a refund. I’m going to try with my paper coupon this week and see if I can get them to ring the coupon for 2.49.

          • Lisabluedevil

Thanks, everyone. I should have said I returned the itme rather than saying I asked for a refund. I’m going to try with my paper coupon this week and see if I can get them to ring the coupon for 2.49.

      • Kpkayle

Did the exact same thing. Then I contacted Kroger and they wanted all kinds of information. I swear getting my driver license was easier than trying to deal with them so I just returned the wash.

      • annon

The e coupon did not come off because the bodywash is priced less than the e coupon value. This has happened in the past with other items and they will not issue a refund because the e coupon did not come off. Might as well return it to the store if you want money back.

    • Leslie

Today at Kroger I bought 2 Mom's Best Cereals at a cost of 99 cents each after the Mega Bucks savings. I had a .75 printable for each. The cashier would not accept them because that particular Kroger now does not take a printable unless the customer pays 75% or more of the item price after the coupon is deducted. They will take an insert coupon from the paper even if it makes the item free for the customer. Does that make any sense whatsoever??? That store makes me feel like a criminal for using coupons! I will now go to a Kroger a mile away that cheerfully accepts all printables.

      • Guidryb29

I also tried using the ip printable but was told it would not scan, They were busy so I did not push it.

      • Kenzbug

I thought it was to be 75% off regular price, not sale price. I have a hard time with my Kroger. I believe now it is in their policy to be rude to the customers with coupons.

    • Cherijop

I'm trying to find the Kraft BBQ coupon in SS 4/17. It says (regional) next to it – – does that mean I won't have it in my Houston Chronicle SS?

      • luv2shop

I found it in ours (NC), but it is for a much larger size than is on sale. A better buy is to hope your BBQ sauce has the peelies on it for buy 2 get $2 off Countytime or KoolAid. Those are on sale this week for $2 and you'll get it for free!

      • bamafan32

I found mine in ss 5/01.

      • jhoran

Hi, I'm in league city, galveston and the coupon was in the houston chronicle as well as the galveston paper.

    • jenni min

On this rude coupon attitude, I had a question. We shoppers-consumers use coupons because these manufacturers want us to use these. If this is the attitude, then is there any place where they are concerned about consumers going through this rude attitude, disrespectful behavior and fix it. At times, I feel like why bother using coupons if this is the trend. Anybody… as I am skeptical that this behavior is contagious and soon other stores might follow.

    • Chooch

I have to agree with all who have complaints about Krogers service and attitude. For years their stores were the market of my choice but in the last year they seem to have really deteriorated. The people that they hire are rude and unhelpful

I almost laugh when they snarl as you hand them coupons and then hand back coupons with your receipt and change. I don't know if it is store policy for their employees to be rude or that they are unable to hire good help. You would think in this economy that Krogers could be a bit more selective in the caliber of employee they hired.

Until they change, it's PUBLIX for me!

    • Kroemerk

Krogers here in Indiana is still nice to shop. I dont think we have as many major couponers here. I went in today and got 60 pounds of rotini to donate to the food pantry at my church. I had accidentally grabbed lasagna which was not included. we looked for a minute but couldn't figure out what I did, so the cashier stored my order and I went to the service desk (she was getting a line) we figured out how to fix the problem and the cashier was able to get it all taken care of. I even ended up getting all of the extra .01 cents off of the price of the soda I bought.

    • Jenn B

The only Tyson coupon I can find in 4/3 SS is only for a frozen Grilled and Ready item, doubt they will let you use that on the boneless chicken breast that is 1.97/lb…….. If any Kroger in the Atl area does please let me know!

    • Thriftychick

I think that since the show extreme couponing show is on now, the stores are going to be making alot of changes to their coupon policies. I noticed my kroger has changed their systems to only double up to the price of the item and not allow overages where they did before. I have had my coupon binder and worked on small stock piles for quite a few years now and have never came across anyone else in the store shopping like I was. Today I went to the store and counted 11 people with binders! Have a feeling the world of couponing is going to start getting much more difficult and we will start seeing some changes to policies that veteran coupon users are not going to like.

      • Sbigham3

I feel the same way! I was at Kroger today and got hit with the “only 2 like coupons” policy. I used to faithfully shop Kroger, but not anymore! It's a shame for those of us not so “extreme”.

        • Shannon

Wasn’t Kroger one of the featured stores on Extreme Couponing? If so, their new coupon policy doesnt make any sense! Im so frustrated with Kroger right now! I’m taking my business elsewhere!

      • Redamyer1

publix all stores are changing their policy soon. they are giving meetings to cashiers around may 14th on this. heard they will no longer take any competeior coupons at all. they will limit how many bogo items too. not sure if they will still take publix siore coupons and manf together on same item.

      • SavvyScorp

Absolutely Agree – I applaud the Extreme Couponing, HOWEVER, it will soon EXPIRE it for us ALL. Do not be greedy. Do not make a massive coupon trip that CRASHES the register and the cashier. They are just bringing too much attention to our Savvy Savings Expertise. My Frys and Safeway are really alert to the coupon use. Go lightly and carry a modest coupon stack (even if you have to do 3 or so trips a week and scout around to different locs.)

      • Teecee

In my area, those shows have also led to people stealing papers. You can't get papers with coupons delivered here, you have to buy a paper from out of town at the store. If you get there after 8 am, you'll find someone has stolen coupons out of all of the papers in the stack. It's getting ridiculous. I've done coupons for 30 years and this is the first time I've considered quitting.

    • Barbara Smith

What is the Kraft Food and Family Booklet and where can I get one?

      • Kelly

I would also like to know where to get this book.

    • -g

Ya know, using coupons is alotbetter than using the good old FOOD STAMP card! at least ppl using coupons are actually paying for their own groceries!!! you would think the cashier would consider that!

      • Mlbam6

THAT WAS RUDE! (yes I did mean to yell) I do not use food stamps but I would never insult anyone because they do. And I know a few families who do have food stamps and use coupons to stretch the small amount they do receive even further. And think before you post. A couponer is using someone else s money EVERY time they hand over a coupon.

        • GAPixie

I agree. My family is on them and we need them. My husband and I are both vets. He is in school full time and was when I was fired after I had a complication in my last pregnancy and wouldn't risk the health of my baby to work overtime for my boss every week. I lost a 55,000 dollar a year job. We wouldn't make it without them and couponing. :) Thank you Jenny for that.

        • KB

Thank you Mlbam6! As a recently divorced Mother raising 2 children on her own, I have went on food stamps. Without them right now, we would probably be going hungry. Hopefully sometime soon we can do better financially and won't need them. But yes, what we do get, is stretched by couponing and THANK GOD for them both!!!

      • bamafan32

My husband and I lost our company of over 6 years, about 6 months ago. I have two children and without food stamps, we would never make it. I am very upset with your comment. I have been an upstanding citizen and I pay my taxes. Couponing is also the only way we make it. So please, think before you speak.

      • jennaj81

I'm just shocked! I use “the good ole FOOD STAMP card” and coupons. I consider that I am paying for my own groceries since my husband has paid into the system through taxes for YEARS. It just so happens that my family (like so many others) has needed a little help feeding our family lately. We are supposed to be on this website encouraging each other and sharing tips, not belittling or griping. You have no idea what personal struggles individuals are going through, so please do not judge us. You may one day be in our shoes.

      • Bradleycentre

I am an RN and don’t have to worry anymore but there was a time not long ago that I too needed food stamps to survive. Using food stamps don’t make you a bad person it makes you a person in need of help. Surely you have needed help of some kind financial or otherwise at some point in you life so you shouldn’t throw stones. (And if you haven’t don’t worry your time will unfortunately come).

    • Jellibean939

Will the nivea lotion coupon work for the nivea body wash?

      • EB

Even if it would scan, it is considered coupon fraud to use a coupon for an item other than what it says it is for. Go by the wording – If the wording says “or any other Nivea product” but shows a photo of lotion, you could use it on bodywash because the photo is often only one of the items the coupon covers (and often the most expensive option ) – but if it specifically says lotion, you should only use it on the lotion.

    • Kelly

Does anyone know how to get the Breyer's ice cream coupon? The website keeps asking for a zip code to find a location nearest you, but I can not find any with the zip codes I am entering.

      • Chasbiv

Try 03110 zip for the Breyer's, I think it has reached it's limit though. GL

    • Sbigham3

Which area are these prices for? Typically, the produce items are not the same price in my Kroger (in NC) that are listed here.

    • Valkerie84

For the mega events do you have to buy in multiples of 10 to get the sale price or just buy at least 10 of the sale items. For example if I was only buying 16 items (all of them sale items) would the sale price apply to all or only 10 of them?

      • luv2shop

Only 10. You need to buy in groups of 10 to get that price.

      • Actually, for the 10/$10 deals you don't need to buy 10 to get them for $1 each if you're using your card. I discovered that this morning. As far as the Mega Sale items, yes you need to buy 10 combined of ANY participating item to get the $5 off.

      • Mary

What I do in this situation is add 4 of the 49 cent items (like the pasta) to my order. I'll get those 4 free plus save $3 more on my order.

I so hate it when I miscount the $5 off 10 items. One way to keep track is to take reusable shopping bags with you. Fill each bag with 10 of the $5 off 10 items. It makes it much easier to shop with kids and coupons and ADD. :)

      • Mandie2262

You have to buy in multiples of 10. If you buy 16 items then 6 of those items will not be discounted to extra .50 each. Hope this helps! Happy saving! :)

    • Bdgirls1122

There is a new Ecoupon on Kroger site for Oral-B toothbrush for $1.50/1. It's on sale for $2.49. W/ Ecoupon it will .99. Previously, the only coupon was for $1.00/1.

    • Amandafincham

It really stinks that so many people have problems with Kroger. I have a great relationship with the managers there. I called my order in on Tuesday and picked it up today. 20 boxes of the Ronzoni pasta, ( i had 8 $1/2 coupons) and 10 bottles of bbq sauce. It was all waiting for me in the back in their own little box. She is ordering me 20 more bbq sauce (I have Qs), 50 ragu (Qs) and 10 more Ronzoni (no Qs, sad) I never have a problem at ANY of the stores I shop at. Must be a WV thing :) Hope it gets resolved for all of u

      • cg

Where are you finding the BBQ sauce coupons? The ones in the paper for Kraft BBQ sauce were for the 28 oz or larger, whereas the mega event item at Kroger is just the 18 oz sized bottle. I was excited about it at first too, but I think you may be using a coupon for the wrong sized bottle. Unless there is a different coupon or product out there I don't know about.

        • Kristen

@267ee6cb22d8d6fb23fb7edd3fb63a8b:disqus There is a coupon that came out in the Kraft Friends and Family booklet that was available in Jan/Feb in some grocery stores.

    • Jennifer

Went to my Kroger tonight and bought 8 boxes of the Ronzoni pasta and 2 bags of Boulder chips and my total with tax was $.05. I was pretty excited and plan to go back and for another run tomorrow. Wasn't sure how it would work so I didn't want to do too much tonight. I'm glad that my Kroger isn't rude like some others. Hoping they stay coupon happy!

      • couponmonster

@Jennifer how did you do that? what coupons did you use? my coupon states “limit one coupon per purchase” and my kroger won't let me use more than that…so, i usually can only score 2 boxes for free at one time….any advice?

        • Kristen

“one coupon per purchase” means one coupon per item listed on the coupon, not per transaction. For example, you can't use (2) $0.50 off any cheese coupons to purchase 1 cheese (which would make it $1.00 off by combining the 2 coupons for the one item.) More coupons are reading, “limit 1 coupon per purchase of items specified” to clarify this often misunderstood wording.

    • Mistyhays

Do You know how you can trnsfer a prescription to Kroger and if you ask, they will give you 25 dollers in grocery's . It's great but as recently changed a little where they won't except coupons on the order. So to beat that problem I do seperate transactions on with coupons and the next redeem my 25 on stuff that don't have coupons.

    • Sapphirestephy2011

I'm in Arizona, and we have Fry's. Our Mega Event has been running since Wed and ends on the 10th. I went in with my coupons for 95% of the Mega Event items!!! I got $201.40 worth of grocerys for $89.02 – a personal best so far of 55% savings!!! Love when I save more than I spent – Saved $112.38! :D

    • Shelly_n_skye

Ok so I went to my Kroger 5 days ago and got the Mega sell. I purchased the 10 items and got the sale price. example the Moms cereal was 1.49 if u buy the 10 items and so on for the rest then they take the 5.00 off at the end right? Well they did that the other night and tonight they didnt do it.So I called the manager over and he told me that they recently changed their coupon policy since i had been last. So needless to say I didn not get the extra 5.00 off for buying 10 items. He said the extra 50 cents off each item was the 5.00 off of the 10 items purchased. Im so freaking aggravated over this!!! ugh

      • Kcorley77

.50 x 10 items = $5.00… .50 off isn't the sale price, it was just showing you how much stuff would be if you got 10 participating items. Are you sure you got an extra $5 off at the end the first time??

      • Teecee

My store just changed it too — I've always gotten -$5 at the end but now they do 50 cents off each item. It still works out the same…

      • Laura (GA)

You got the same deal; it just shows an extra .50 off each item (.50*10=$5.00) instead of them just showing the $5 off at the end.

      • itismedia

The new policy of taking .50 off each item lowers the price of each item which changes its coupon value. This is how it was explained to me last week. For example, the pasta was .99 so the old way, it rang up at this price and then the 5.00 came off like a coupon. You could (at my store) use a .50 coupon. It would take off .50 and then the “double” amount would come off at .49 (My store no longer allows coupon overages). The new way, the .50 (5.00/10) comes off each item lowering the value to .49. Now a .50 coupon beeps because it exceeds the value of the item and therefore cannot be used. =+( HTH

        • Chris

Then you should be able to get around that by having them scan your order, scan your Qs, THEN scan your card last. They like you to scan your card first but I read somewhere on here it is up to you when you actually scan your card – it can be anytime in the transaction.

          • Val

If you scan your card last, after your coupons, they won't double.

            • Chris

AH! I was wondering about that after I typed my post. Well that’s unfortunate. They’re basically saying they don’t want to deal with Qs I guess. Although I did not have this issue the other night – and all of my Qs exceeded the final price of the item. The only issue I had was that one Q would not scan because it thought I did not have that number of items but the cashier said I did and keyed it manually – she thought it was just the number of line items that was confusing it (the register was REALLY slow and it took more than 30 minutes to checkout because it kept pausing and we had to wait for the register to respond).

    • Jellibean939

any extra good coupons in todays paper?

    • Jen

My ad in Kennesaw GA shows pork loin to be $2.27/lb not tenderloin. Bummer!

    • Jellibean939

Well there were absolutely no coupons in my Sunday paper!!

      • Kristen

@1c8f6d46a05848253c781a600b082536:disqus Try a different paper. I receive the local Times which doesn't ever have Smart Source inserts (which is what came this week). So, I also get the Chicago Tribune delivered on Sundays, they have more coupons and better valued coupons. Even the local Tribune has the SS inserts, but the coupons don't compare to the Chicago Tribune SS.

    • Lou0414

I see some good deals from Nabisco with the Kraft Friends and family booklet. Any idea how I can get a booklet. thanks in advance

      • Bmantlow

I've seen this question asked before but, have never seen a reply. I'm also looking for this answer.

In order to get your hands on it, you will need to find someone that has it and is willing to sell or trade it. You could check ebay for the specific coupons you are wanting. Hope this helps.

    • Ashleyjackson9781

      Kroger last night,,
      2 sunny d
      1 kim &scott pretzel
4 cans cmpbls crm mush soup
      2 boxes moms cereal
      6 bags mahatma safron rice
      1 bg boulder chips
      retail total..$26.04
      after coupons and kroger +…$6.28
NOTE…my 2 cereal coupons were for $1 but bc the cereal was .99 the register beeped. My cashier(who was very impatient and kept rolling his eyes) just keyed it in as .75 cents each! I got shorted .50! When I asked him to double check that my coupons were rung up right he said he couldnt do that til I paid! I got irritated so I just paid. after looking at my reciept i saw he just keyed it in. oh well i did good!

      • Ashleyjackson9781

I had to go through the self check bc it was all that was open . I have never really had friendly checkers there. I am beginning to think it is the “crap” job and that is why they are so miserable. Never the less, I heart my Kroger even on a bad day!

        • shops2much

I think self check out is great,,,, when one is trying to make sure items are ringing correctly it allows me time to catch “mistakes” , like the coupon for Hallmark cards I used the other day. It was for $2.00 and only rang up as $1.00…the u-scan monitor is not as concerned with speed as a cashier has to be!

    • The mega event items looks to be the same as last week, at least for me no additional interesting items. Is this common they do back to back weeks of the same items?

      • Carebearandrea

They tend to run in 2 week periods when they go on. they sometimes add a few items

    • Barnwellbears

Can someone in Metro Atlanta tell me if they have the Reach toothbrush on sale for .50? My krogers did not have it!

      • Chris

I found out last night they are still 10 for 10 here in Atlanta (at the two stores I went to) but that Kroger here has been unable to get them in because there are a lot of specific items being sent to the areas in the SE where they had the storms (and where people need the basics badly). They hope to get some in but were not optimistic.

        • Me

They aren't sending them to any of the Krogers in the Huntsville/Decatur area which are the Krogers for North Alabama where many tornadoes came through. I have been trying to get toothbrushes and bodywash and they keep saying the warehouse is empty. None were delivered on the past 3 trucks.

    • ponygirl19

so disappointed ! Just drove over 40 mins away to pick up the toothbrushes for 50 cents and the Sobe water at 99 cents…. NOT ON SALE !! Was told I wasn't the first person in the past wk to show up for sale items that were listed on Southern Savers that weren't actually on sale.

Oh well, at least it is a perfect day for a drive.

    • Chris

So went to Kroger twice last night and here's how I did:
160 boxes of pasta and 30 bags of chips = $0.26 oop transaction total after tax and Qs

      60 boxes of pasta
      10 bags of pretzel crisps
      1 can refried beans
      1 Natures Bounty Iron
total after tax and Qs = $15 even

So total both trips $15.26 for products valued at 135.59 after tax – saved 89% (would have been higher without the vitamins).

      • ToddDu

I hope you are donating a lot of the pasta and chips. Otherwise, you're hoarding

        • Chris

It's ALL donated. There is a food bank in Dallas, GA that desperately needs help. They have to BUY food from the Atlanta Food Bank if they want to get anything from there that isn't donated directly to them in Dallas. So I take it all out to them – food, HBA, everything. I don't have the room to store that kind of food and I'm single so 220 boxes of pasta would go to waste.

          • Chris

Last trip was over $500 retail worth of food and HBA as a matter of fact – I have the receipt and inventory of what was donated.

I have 220 boxes of pasta to take this week, or next, with some of the chips (which I eat so I'm keeping some). I also have a big bag of HBA and an additional 22 packs of the Bic razors that Publix just had on sale on order with them so I can get them with my Qs and donate those too (a store MANAGER actually said he would help me get them and get them for free when I explained what I was doing with them – I am single and male so obviously have no use for women's razors. But instead of trying to clear shelves I order them out of respect for other shoppers even though I have rain checks for all 22 packs).

            • Chris

BTW – the food bank in Dallas, GA is called Helping Hands and is on W Spring Street behind the court house. If you live in the area and are looking for somewhere to donate to please donate there.

          • Tina

Your one of the good guys GO Cowboy GO!!!

        • Chris

As a side note I'm offended that you assume I should be donating what I purchase or take the time to get for free with my Qs. What if I had a family of 10 who liked pasta? You would have been better received to ask if there was a reason for the large purchases versus making an assumption.

And just for note in case anyone disagrees, since I see two people “liked” your post, please take note that I avoid clearing shelves unlike a lot of people (which I have myself been victim of when I arrive at the store and find the shelf completely empty). I try to order when I can or ask for case packs from the back of the store if they have them – it makes it easier on the store and helps to make sure they have product on the shelf for other shoppers. And most stores, if you are honest with them up-front, are cooperative and try to help if they can – or they will give permission to clear a shelf which I appreciate so I don't get dirty looks or unnecessary comments.

          • angelyn_1986

I guess I'm the only one who read his comment as a joke/innocent observation? My friends tease me all the time about my couponing habits thinking I'm like the folks on TLC. I think we can all relate. And agree that as long as you're not wiping out all the shelves you can do whatever you want with your purchases.

            • Chris

I could have misinterpreted but that’s the problem with blog posts and emails – I’ve made that mistake at work and been misinterpreted myself so had to smooth ruffled feathers. If I made that mistake then I sincerely apologize – but that certainly was not the way it was received (as a joke).

And yes I try to not wipe a shelf unless I’m told I can – it’s rude to everyone else who also wants the same great deal (as has happened to me when I show up on the very first day, sometimes not long after the store opens, of a sale and find the item I was after was wiped clean from the shelf). Fortunately I’ve had a really positive response in the stores – both from customers and employees who want to know how they can do it too (I even got some hugs from employees last night at Kroger). I refer every one of them to southernsavers.com so they can learn the basics, read what others are doing, ask questions (because most people on here want to help), and even take Jenny’s class if they are able to get to one (or look for one in the local area).

            • Chris

I sincerely apologize if I misinterpreted. That can happen sometimes with blogs and emails – I've made the mistake of being misinterpreted myself a few times.

        • Chris

BTW – does it making it hoarding because I got it for free or or would it still be hoarding if I had not used one single Q and paid full-price? Is it hoarding if I have 15 bags of chips in my house that I bought on sale but without Qs (because I like crunchy snacks – hence my somewhat expanding waistline) even though I go through about a bag every two days or so (sometimes less) because I work from home so am at home all day long every single day? So 30 bags of chips may last me two months at the most (and one at the least) if I were to keep them all.

I find it irritating to have to justify myself to someone who not only doesn't know me but doesn't know anything about me. That's the problem with people today – everyone is ready to stick their collective noses in someone else's business without knowing the full story – or want to impose their beliefs or ideals on others. If someone is doing something that isn't hurting anyone or depriving someone of something – or better yet is actually trying to help someone – then what does it matter to you? Especially if that activity is endorsed by, or approved by, the entity in the best position to be hurt but who recognizes they have nothing to lose?

I was reluctant to share my experiences because I was concerned about comments like this. But I did it anyway with the hopes that others would be encouraged to coupon harder or smarter and donate the excess to those that need it more than they or I. That's why I donate to as many causes I can afford to – from animal rights groups to health and environmental causes. Whether it be my time, my effort, gently used goods, or food gotten from couponing (which isn't free when you factor in the time, energy, paper and ink costs, etc) – we should all make a little bit of an effort to go out of our way and help those who could use a hand. One day you may be in the position to need help yourself and you'll be hoping there are others out there who will do what they can to help – I was helped once and I'm trying to return the favor in a way that I can afford (because these large purchases cost me only my time and effort really).

Sorry to everyone else for the long post – just angry and agitated but am hoping my message gets through.

          • Erin

Well, to be fair, you posted your haul on a blog for everyone to see. You aren't taking issue with the positive comments, and those commenters are “sticking their noses in” just as much as the others (seeing as how this is the comment section of a blog), so clearly your issue is not with people sticking their noses in so much as with negative criticism.

And though all those IPs may be valid insomuch as they have unique pin numbers and so forth, I would hesitate to call them legitimate because there's no way in the world the manufacturer meant for one individual to get so many. That's why they put limits on the number of prints per computer in the first place (and also why many Krogers now institute limits on IPs and are simply cracking down on coupons in general). I appreciate that you have the ability to skirt these limits and are doing so with the best of intentions, but from my perspective, this takes 160-some boxes of pasta from families on the edge whose next step is the very food banks to which you donate. Just some food for thought.

            • Chris

I would agree to disagree. I actually posted because of pride which should have been the indicator right there (since boasting is never a good thing) and to try to show that it can be done (getting everything for free) while helping others. Now concerning the coupons the manuf sets a limit of prints for the campaign that they run through whomever they have sourced (Coupons.com, Smartsource.com, etc) and those providers in turn use technology to limit the number of prints per unique identifier. If their system is flawed then that’s an issue they need to address – however if I told you about some of the info they collect and keep you would probably think twice about those printable Qs. And you have no idea how many times I hear about a Q available only to miss out because there are no more prints for the campaign available by the time I get to the site.

I will say to a point that I agree with you about the quantity. I used to not worry about it so much but I’ll say that the TLC show has opened my eyes and I try very hard to not take from the shelves if I’m buying in quantity. In fact, last night at Kroger when I bought all of that pasta I actually stopped an employee who went to the manager for me and they OK’d my taking from the shelves because they stated they had more on order and it should be on the truck (that they had just gotten but had been unable to unload and distribute so they couldn’t find the cases – which is what I had asked for first). So I was told it was OK to go ahead and pull from the shelf – and it was 11P so they were going to be restocking soon anyways. I didn’t even take their plastic bags (a cost to the store) – I just loaded the loose boxes in the back of my truck cab and took them home.

And you mention those on the “edge” – did you notice one of my posts where I gave some of that pasta and some of the chips from last night, while standing in the Kroger parking lot, to a family of TEN people (who had been with the single mom who was shopping that night)? They had actually watched me checkout and asked how I managed to do what I did – and during the conversation I learned about their situation. So I tried to help the best way I could right then. It wasn’t much but I hope it helped. And for those families who are in those situations I would be happy to help them too – but I’m not a food bank or charity nor am I qualified to run one. I would rather give to the professionals who know the need and how best to handle the situations presented to them and let them do their jobs so they can provide the best level of service for those individuals.

            • Sandy

BLAH BLAH BLAH. Just because you have “ancient Chinese secrets” to exploit the “flawed system” doesn't make it right!

I find it humorous that you complain about a coupon being out of print for a campaign, when you yourself, are taking coupons away from honest people just trying to print 2 to feed their family. If there is a limit on these pasta q's there is at least 100 people that won't be able to print them now.

People like you are the reason why sometimes we have to spend 5 minutes signing up a username, password, next of kin, blood type, etc etc just to get a coupon, because they know there are people out there that still manage to print multiples. Manufacturers have to link the coupon prints to our username because limiting it to 2 a computer isn't enough anymore.

You may be giving stuff to a food bank, but at the same time, you are taking away from others! I think it's great when people donate but follow the rules, people. Don't make it more difficult for others.

            • Chris

You know, I would be curious to know how many times you've bought more than 2 of something with more than 2Qs for those same items. Meaning you had to buy more than one paper or print more than 2 Qs – or you're buying from a clipping service – which actually is supposed to void most Qs since most of them state “void if sold, exchanged, or transferred”.

If everyone played by the rules then there would be no need for coupon clipping services or coupon sales on ebay. And I am fairly certain almost everyone on here has bought more than 2 of something with more than 2 Qs because it was a really good deal so they were stocking up. I'm just using my tech knowledge to do the same thing being done through other methods by others.

          • Mama04

In my opinion, hoarding is collecting crap that you won't use.. stock piling food items because they are on sale is smart shopping, especially when the cost ov everything is going up constantly. I have 2 kids at home and 2 in college, therefore if I can get 220 boxes of pasta for pennies then I'm all over it. And I commend you for donating to food banks.. especially now when there are so many people that have lost everything in the recent tornadoes that hit us in Alabama. God Bless you Chris and keep up the good work.

          • Shinne6

Go Chris!! Im encouraged. A jealous couponer is an ugly thing

Go Chris! Im encouraged!! A jealous couponer is an ugly thing

      • MrsEllis

What on earth do you do with 160 boxes of pasta? And how do you get so many coupons for it??

        • Chris

If you see the posts below that it goes to a food bank. And I have many computers at home (I work in IT) so am able to print a lot of Qs. And most of the time I print what I can and hang on to them waiting for a sale (or someone looking for a Q I have but will not use – I have a big stack of those that are available to someone who wants them if they will pay for the postage or come get them).

          • MrsEllis

Awesome. I figured and hoped you were donating them, but couldn't figure out how you could get so many coupons for them. I just dropped off a huge load of food and beauty supplies to my local food bank and am planning my trip to Kroger to get pasta to donate to my church's food bank, so I can relate. But I think what you do is great :)

            • Chris

Thanks! I can't reveal all of my ancient Chinese secrets but if you work in IT and have many computers available to you (I personally have 7 plus two printers in my home office) it is not at all difficult to print as many Qs as you could need. And it is completely legit – all valid Qs with valid codes (no hanky panky, no copying or scanning or printing to PDF or any of that BS – people who do that are engaging in FRAUD and should go to JAIL).

But yes, I have a house full of food and a relatively good job that allows me to work from home. So while I work I sit and coupon so I can donate to those less fortunate than I (not that I have lots of money but at least I have a home and my bills are paid). Those who lost everything in the recent storms or are unemployed I'm sure appreciate the generosity – I know the folks at the food bank were surprised and very happy to get the last batch.

            • Whaahh

That's not legitimate, that's finding a way around the rules

          • Sandy

220 boxes of pasta / 2 Internet coupons per computer = 110 computers?!?!

            • Llubesky

People like you are the reason why I have to get a raincheck for many items on things I need now and not 6 weeks later or even need to donate. For example, I need tampon and Publix had them on sale and I had coupons well due to this, I could not get coupons, the reaosn i do not have a stockpile is because I recently had a baby and did not expect to have to use them for another month or so thought why not stock up now. Well my store and 2 other stores around are sold out. Come to find out a person who has a store due to extreme couponing has bought most of them. That does me no good. O don't stock up to make money, and I dont' stocke up for several years, i need to stock because of financial reason I when i do i buy max 4 of something.

            • Val

This is why the stores in my area have limits now. There's a limit of 10 of the same item at my local Publix and my Kroger only accepts 2 like coupons per item. Our Kroger district manager said the reason for the change was so, that everyone could get a good deal.

I wouldn't even know how a raincheck for a Megaevent would work at Kroger, but luckily I don't have to get many rainchecks anymore.

            • Chris

Here some stores actually limit the number of Qs period – the Kroger closest to me stated they only accept 6 Qs for 6 like items (or as many as the Qs call for as long as there are only 6 Qs for that item). That was the store manager who told me that when I called to verify their policy before going. Another two Kroger stores don't care – you can use as many Qs as you want. So I'm wondering if they are starting to be like Publix where the policy varies by store depending on what the manager wants to do.

            • Chris

Actually the volume of people using coupons has increased to the point that stores are having difficulty keeping stock when they put something on sale because there are so many people starting to figure out how to take advantage of the deals. So they keep less on hand than they should OR they do it on purpose (yes, I have heard that some stores will actually only put so many out of an item so they can limit the number sold at the sale price – especially high-margin items).

I'm sorry if you have had that experience – I too have gone in with the intent of getting something specific only to find nothing and have the same results at 3 stores. It does get very frustrating which is why, as stated above, when I shop in quantity I try to order ahead of time or ask for cases from the back so that doesn't happen (empty shelves for others).

            • Chris

Technically yes. I could explain through a lot of technical jargon but for the layman's purposes that would actually be correct.

            • Jeff

@Chris I am also in IT – I have not started poking for the vulnerability myself yet, but I am assuming virtual machines and or proxies are the answer? Do you have to go as far as spoofing mac addys?

            • Chris

Email me directly for more info – cmetzger at metzdomain dot com. No VM but have you heard of Clonezilla? And yes, the one identifier they can grab and hash with an ActiveX control plays a role. I found it disturbing that they track that info since that identifies every single piece of networkable equipment on planet earth.

      • TJ

Chris you do not have to justify yourself to these folks they are just jealous because you are getting great deals and are tryin to help out as many people as possible. I don't consider what you are doing is hoarding. If anyone has watch the show hoarding that is totally different those folks on that show are just plain nasty. If people would quit complaining and judging maybe this world would be a better place.

    • Erin

Hi, I have a somewhat ridiculous question, but i'll ask it anyway. I know the Kim & Scott's pretzels are listed under Jenny's Fridge or Frozen section, could anyone be more specific, like what other products they are around? I asked at my Kroger, but helpful and informative apparently aren't job requirements, they told me 'I don't know if we sell it or not'. Anyway…..would appreciate any help possible!
      Erin

      • Thestapletons

They are a frozen pretzel. I see them close to appetizers and frozen snack foods. I hope this helps.

Erin – try looking by the pizza rolls and other frozen appetizers like the TGIF stuff.

Wahoo! Went in yesterday…total before coupon was $70, paid $18 after!! I love Free stuff!

      • Harrisonmic

Could you tell us what coupons you used?

    • Michelle

Has anyone else been frustrated with Kroger lately? I know food prices are increasing nationwide, but between that and Kroger's new coupon policies, I'm having much more success (translated: paying much less) at Publix. I've been a very loyal Kroger customer for years, but we're a really health conscious household, so shopping the perimeter of the store has become far more costly.
Jenny, despite being discouraged by prices, I can't tell you how much I love and appreciate this website. I'm also so proud of and impressed by all of the food donations!
Thank you, and Happy Mother's Day!

      • Shannon

I had an issue last night at Kroger in Athens, Ga. They wouldn't allow me to use my $3 Nivea coupon on the mega deal price of $2.49. They now refuse coupons over the amount of item and will not adjust the coupon. Also, they wouldnt allow me to purchase 2 mens Nivea and 2 womens Nivea. When I asked why they stated they were trying to prevent their shelves from being wiped out. Seriously? two bottles is wiping them out? This is all due to the new coupon policy, which I can not seem to get corporate to email me a copy of. The mgr told me this is all in response to Extreme Couponing, but didnt Kroger appear on the show once? I am very frustrated with the new policy and will be taking my business to Publix! Sorry…had to vent!

        • LOinTN

Shannon – did the computer actually beep not allowing the coupons? In Knoxville, if a coupon is over the amount it was just taking that amount off – unless something recently changed. I find that there is alot of confusion with the cashiers and the managers over their own coupon policy. I keep hearing so many stories of how people trying to save money are basically treated like crooks. I would definately contact Krogers corporate office and get clarity on the situation. I don't think they should have denied you buying 4 total bottles of soap – and I think the coupons could have/should have taken the $2.49 off. Hope you get clear answers soon. – oh and yes, Kroger was on the show and no, dear Krogers, we aren't all that extreme.

    • kristi

Hebrew National hot dogs are $2/6 instead of B1G1 in Clarksville, TN

    • angelyn_1986

I didn't see Hefty trash bags listed on the Mega Event (maybe I missed it), but they're included and they have $1 peelies attached – makes them about $5 for a big box, which is definitely better than Kroger brand if you need them.

Had a few big disappointments, though. Whole pork loin is $2.27/lb – not pork tenderloins, which cost almost twice as much. Also, the Quaker cereal deal is only for Cap'n Crunch, not Oatmeal Squares, Life, etc (at least at my store in N.Augusta, SC). And as several people have mentioned, no money-maker toothbrushes. The cheapest ones were $1.

    • Shawsgirl2004

FYI: The Boulder Chips coupon has changed from $1/1 to $1/2.

      • Kristen

Thank you for pointing that out! I printed 2 last night… one is $1.00/1 the other is $1.00/2! I would not have caught that!

        • Shawsgirl2004

No problem! I printed from my pc at home the other day and went to Kroger on Tuesday… but was at my moms house last night and went print some from my dads pc and noticed that it changed. Oh well. Still a good deal if you like them
          .. I have yet to try them…

          • Chris

They actually changed the Q a few days ago and had both on the coupons.com site. Now they just have the $1/2 – I think they got hip to the fact that Kroger was having a sale and the Q made the item free.

      • Chris

BTW – they have the $1/1 back out there. They actually show both again – zip 90210.

    • Fayettevilleinc

My coupons for the kraft bbq sauce is .45 for a 28oz or 40 oz bottle has anyone used this coupon for the meaga deal @ kroger

      • Kingfishracin

Mine says the same thing and I would also like to know if anyone has used it.

      • Amber_carter_2008

I had 10 kraft bbq coupons and i bought 10 bottles to make them 49 cents each then used the 45 cents off coupns and ended up paying 15 cents for the 10 bottles!

      • Mary

You should only use the coupon on the brand/size indicated, otherwise it is considered coupon fraud. Please be honest. Dishonesty is what is giving couponers a bad name.

    • Jamie

happy mother's day to all of you mothers out there!!! (absolutely love this site!!!!) last monday, went to kroger & bill was $199 WHAT I PAID WAS $31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am new to this coupon stuff (about 2 months) so you can imagine how happy I was (and still am) about that total! God, I want to be like those women on extreme couponing!

    • Tina

is it better to do the self checkout at Krogers can you ring up your own coupons? I have had really go luck at CVS my order came out to 49.00 I paid 23.00 and at Rite A I got cheer 4 bottles would have retailed for 35.00 paid 16.00 Tina in TN

      • Allison

A cashier has to ring the coupons regardless at Kroger. I prefer self checkout because it's easier for me to keep track of the coupons coming off.

      • Laura

At self check out you click pay now then it asks do you have coupons. When you click yes it just says go give them to the attendant. You cannot do anything with them yourself.

        • Carolina Coupon Mom

I have started staying with the cashier when she rings my coupons as several times I get into the car and realize the cashier did ring things properly when I simply hand them over and wait for the go ahead. It also helps address any questions head on.

    • Does anyone know if the Kraft Singles coupon for $1 is good for this week? It would make the 2% Cheese singles $0.79 cents this week.

      • Jenny27

Yep, they are. Got mine today. In richmnod,va

    • Lidy

Just a silly question? how do you guys save soooo much like chris on your pasta? do you have mulltiple cupons for the same product? do they double or triple? I am verry new to this and i sure doo need help :) thnaks

      • Chris

If you look in the coupon database on this site (link above) you can look-up Ronzoni and see there are several links for pasta. The one I used is http://ronsonigardendelight.newworldpasta.com/pasta_coupon.cfm which takes you directly to the Ronzoni site. originally they were out of prints for the Garden Delight version but then they released some apparently. So they have all four versions available there – Healthy, Smart, Garden, and Quick. Each Q is for $1/2 and Kroger is having a sale $0.49/ea when you buy 10. If you use one Q per two boxes and buy 10 (5 Qs) then all 10 boxes are free.

        • Kristyn

but watch out because many krogers will not take 5 coupons for the same item. i was able to do this using 8 coupons and buying 16 boxes. I had 2 coupons for each type which was $1/2 so 4 boxes of each, then I filled out my 20 with 4 bottles of bbq sauce, so in the end I paid $1.90 for the whole thing. Most Krogers will limit any coupons to 2 or 3 of the same coupon whether you get it online or in your newspaper.

        • cahugh4

I just got some more of the garden delight coupons in the mail today, so there will probably be some in the paper this Sunday (smartsource). However the q is for $1/1, which still makes it free!

          • Chris

WOW! $1/1 means a profit of $0.50 per box on the Mega Sale. That's pretty good – I was happy with them just being free even after tax (here in GA we pay 2% on food).

      • CWW

I got four boxes on Ronzoni for free b/c if you buy 10 items from the mega sale(including four boxes of pasta) you get an additional -.50 off each item. That makes the pasta .49 each. There was a printable q for -$1/2 and I had two of them. That makes them free. .50 was a great stock up price without the q's too.

    • I did not see the Reach toothbrush -$2/2 coupon in my SuperSaver insert this week like she posted it would be. Has anybody else missed this or is it just missing here in GA?

      • Kcorley77

I didn't get it either, I'm in Clarksville, TN

        • Kcorley77

my Ken's coupon was $1/2 instead of $1/1 too

          • CWW

I had the same problem when I started couponing. Apparently what you get in your SS may be different from mine b/c the inserts are regional. It may be on the list but you still have to check to see if it is there or not. It was not in mine either.

    • Melinda

I don't know if this is specific to my store or not, but I am in Macon and my Kroger (Zebulon Road) had Schick Quattro razors BOGO ($5.99). They rang up at half price. I used 2 $2 coupons and got each pack of razors for .99. I missed out on the Bic Soleil deal at CVS last week so I was pretty happy to get these!

    • Ebarb182

The Kroger in my area (Athens, Ga) told me I couldn't use the .50 off coupon for the pasta because I would “be in the negatives” even though I was buying more than JUST pasta. They said it was a new policy. Not sure if any one else is running into that problem.

    • ponygirl19

I have now been to the Kroger's in Irmo, SC 3 times… still no 50 cent toothbrushes ! I have hunted the coupons in the ads for them and can't find the… what am I doing wrong ?

      • Andrea

My store here in GA had them last week (well, a placeholder for them at least… they were out of stock when I had gone by), but then when I went yesterday to grab a couple of them hoping they had restocked, they were no longer stocking the 50 cent ones and had replaced them with multi-packs that are over $2.

        • Chris

You know I noticed that too. The stores that normally carry them here had the empty pegs, and they were still marked 10/10, but three or four times they have not had them (which is why I asked and they said they were having difficulty getting certain things). But they had plenty of those new Reach 4 packs for I think $3.29. Obviously the $2/2 Q would be a horrible deal on those so I skipped them but was hoping to grab a couple for free to throw in my donation bag. Oh well.

    • Lianekae

I have a question…How are you able to get the Kraft BBQ sauce for free. My coupon is for the bigger size sauce and the BBQ sauce on sale is for the smaller size. Also, my Boulder chips is a $1.00 off of two from the Smart Choice site..I wasn't sure if I was missing something. Thanks for the help.

      • adrienne

@lianekae the boulder chips q is from the coupons.com and u need to put in the zip 90210 i’m not sure what ‘s goin on with the bbq sauce, HTH

      • Erin

The $1/1 Boulder chips coupons are probably gone by now. They were on coupons.com. I didn’t get the BBQ sauce, so I’m not sure about that one, but do note that coupons and sale prices vary by region.

    • germangirl

I went to Kroger last week and the Reach toothbrushes weren't 50 cents they're $1 at my Kroger.

      • Mmaxwell9

        Same with my Kroger.

      • jhoran

They are 1.00, but it is a mega event item so they will take off .50, making it .50 and with the 1.00q it makes .50 profit..

    • Kidspastorcathy

Check out the Lunchables without the drink (with fruit). Several had $1 off 2 coupons on product, and they are on the 10 save $5 Mega Event too. GREAT DEAL!

    • Bravefan54

Went to Kroger for the first time ever tonight. found everything I had intended to get. When I was checking out, the cashier informed me that their new policy only allowed for 3 internet printable coupons. I was very disappointed, and almost told them I didn't want any of the order then, but decided to go ahead, and still came out pretty well. I bought 4 splendas, along with 16 other items, and it cost me $29 dollars. At Walmart, it would have cost 24.58 for just the splenda, so it was like getting the rest of the items free.

    • Tinasellshomes

I went to print the butter coupon and it said you have already printed what was allowed? did anyone else not get the butter coupon the pasta one gave me a little trouble this week I saved 70.00 on my bill love this website!!!!!

      • zerobills

        Same thing happened to me

    • Ann

I am not a big fan of Kroger at all! When I do try to shop sale items, they are always out of most items which makes it impossible to buy 10 items. I don't understand how you can require someone to purchase 10 items in order to get the sale price when you don't even have 1, let alone 10 items in stock. Every time I ask, I'm given an answer that the next truck comes on Tues., etc. I guess I'm just really frustrated that I always give them the benefit of the doubt and I leave disappointed in most cases. So thankful to have Publix as my home store.

    • Iamcouponing3

I have always liked my Savannah area Kroger for their great sales, but I am disappointed in them for being so coupon UN-friendly. You can only buy two items with like coupons at a time. For example, I was so excited when the Ivory Body Soap was 10 for $10. I had 5 coupons for $1.00 off, making each free, but was only able to buy two in one visit… I am new at this couponing adventure and hope to get the hang of it!

      • Freestuff4cb

Krogers in Va are the same with only letting you use 2 like printables at a time.

    • Kelly

I'm new to couponing (2-3 months in) and I'll admit that I haven't even tried to shop Kroger yet, but I live in the Houston area and they DO NOT double coupons here. It's a little bit of a drive to the closest Kroger, too. I always read and hear about how Kroger is getting really picky about coupons as well, and that makes me nervous. AND we do not have a Publix, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter or any of those stores here. I just feel bummed that because of where I live that I can't take advantage of the savings I was hoping for. I will admit that I have saved at Walmart, Target, and Walgreens, but my nice “scores” are few and far between. Sometimes I feel like the time I spend searching for deals (which is a long time since I'm a newbie) isn't worth the amount of money I'm saving. Maybe I'm just having an off day. I'm also hoping this is sort of a normal feeling for new couponers. I'm not ready to throw in the towel, just feeling a little defeated right now. Just wanted to vent. :)

      • Kelly

… I'm also frustrated because EVERY store I visit that has “free” items is always wiped clean. Apparently there are either a lot of couponers in my area or a couple shelf clearers. Grrr.

        • ThomasMomof4

I hear ya on this one! Hang in there!

        • Asmith

or the store is not restocking the shelves

        • Jenniferbauckman

This really bothers me. Personally, I think people are pretty selfish when it comes to getting things for free!

        • Beverly

Don't forget about the raincheck system! I have learned to love it and often a better coupon comes out in the weeks after the sale which makes the deal even better.

    • leisumar

If you shop the Middle, TN Kroger stores (this includes Bowling Green KY), our ad changed slightly from last week. We do not have the Boulder Canyon chips or the SoBe water on sale this week. Check the store's website before heading out to the store.

    • Shanvickery

As I was checking out, I had 2 coupons that were legitimate coupons I had printed online, but they would not scan. When this has happened in the past, the cashier would double check to make sure I did indeed buy the items, and then just manually enter the coupon. But not today! She just handed them back to me and said, “They wouldn't scan, so we can't take them.” Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do about it?

      • Chris

I've had one or two of those and they did the same thing as yours previously did – just double-check the count and manually enter them or try the gun instead of the bed scanner. The one manager who had to come over because the cashier had a question one time since the Q wouldn't scan said they have the problem a lot with Qs printed on color printers (like the multi-function inkjets) versus the Qs printed on a straight black-and-white printer like a monochrome laser. Not sure why but they went ahead and took mine after verifying the quantity and number of Qs already used.

      • Desiree

ask her to call a manager over and get your way :D

      • Jw24725

Yes, this happened to me Saturday night. They would not scan one of my coupons and also did not ring me up right so that I did not get one of my mega discounts. (This has happened for the 3rd time.) I went straight to customer service. They gave me my coupon and mega discount.

      • ireneY

Challenge the lazy cashier! If you insist, they normally work it out. If not, ask for the manager.

      • Carolina Coupon Mom

I was informed recently by a manager that when the company sends coupons to their clearinghouse they receive a much lower reimbursement if the coupon does not scan. Therefore, they are beginning to decline printable coupons that do not scan.

    • Hana

Where can I find the Kraft Food and Family Booklet that is mentioned? I have looked EVERYWHERE. Even called Kraft foods… and they didn't know!

      • Carolina Coupon Mom

If I remember correctly, it's something you can pay for and subscribe to. If you call Kraft they will know. I had a problem with a product and they tried to sale me a subscription at the end of taking the complaint.

    • How do you add online coupons to your kroger pluscard? and also some website claim that you can download 1 time use manufacturer coupons onto your kroger plus card, too. is this true? if so which websites do you use?

      • Hana

a few of the websites are kroger.com, upromise.com, shortcuts.com. you load the coupons onto your card by registering yourself (address, phone number, etc.) and then by putting your card numbers in when asked.

      • Sandramcgrew

Not sure if it helps but I add mine from the kroger website…under digital coupons..

      • Bradford_h_edgy

        Kroger website, cellfire,

    • Michelle Sharp

Land o Lakes also did not print for me, says I've exceeded the limit and the Sunny D Coupon says it's over…

      • ThomasMomof4

I got the same thing today too! It said, I already exceeded my printing limit and I haven't even printed anything yet! Where can I find a coupon?

        • Tracey

I found some .25/1 (which would double) at my local gas station on the cooler door – I got 2 for my neighbor to use last week

    • Khjbcoupns

CIGARETTES – MARLBORO -$4.09 per pack at KROGERS.. says so on the front page ad this week…. kinda makes ya gooo hummmmmmm… they have advertised cigs 3-4 times since i started couponing in February. i have emailed them from their home website 2 times and finally got a response that my email had been forwarded to someone else who would be in touch with me. that was over 4 weeks ago… starting this week i am boycotting krogers until further notice… regardless of the good deal they may offer.. my mother is dying of copd because she smoked for 40 years and from what i can find the laws against advertising cigs has not changed.. in fact that is the very thing i asked of krogers to provide me with the document or site showing that it is now legal to advertise cigs.. humm maybe that is why they have not responded.. there has been no change in the law…

      • ireneY

That caused a double take on my part too. Good for you for taking it up with corporate!

      • Metethn

I totally appreciate you taking a stand for your beliefs, however the law only covers advertisements directed towards children in print. The fact that Kroger is advertising the price of their cigarettes in their ad does not constitute a broken law. It falls under the same law that allows advertisement signs on the glass fronts of gas stations that post cigarette prices. Now is it socially responsible for a company that “prides” itself in its family values to openly advertise for a product that kills people, no…but sadly not illegal. I wish you the best and hope that maybe if enough people like you are out there, then maybe Kroger will change their policy.

    • Martispimpin

SO IF it says man. cou. 4/10 what does that meam. i havent seen some of these coupons. i have just now started couponing.

      • Frugalistic Mama

RP 4/10 is Red Plum coupon insert that was delivered in the April 10th newspaper =0)

    • Frugalistic Mama

not sure if this has been mentioned yet in the hundreds of comments ;-) but in the Pampers deal the spend $20 get $5 isn't for your next shopping order it is an $5 mani for Pampers….still an awesome deal =0)

    • Kingfishracin

I have a question about the mega deals. The way I understand it is that I get the sale price as long as a buy at LEAST ten items. Do I have to buy in groups of ten or would I get the sale price if i bought 14 or 15 of an item?

      • llindsey4000

I was told by a store employee that you have to buy in groups of ten because it doesn't prorate the price for say 13 items.

      • Chris

I made the mistake of miscounting one night and overpaid (missed out on the mega discount on some items) so yes – you have to buy in groups of 10. I realized why the total was off from my calc when I got home. Oh well.

      • Katiebuh840204

You have to buy it in groups of 10.

    • Chris

BTW – the $1/1 Boulder Chips Q is BACK on coupons.com! Zip 90210. Get it while it’s still there before they swap to the $1/2 Q again.

    • guest

I was told by a friend that Kroger is limiting the number of like internet coupons you cant use at one time. Anybody heard of this?

    • Margoren

If the Reach toothbrush is $.50 (Mega price, bought 10 mega items) and use a $1.00 off Reach toothbrush coupon, will it adjust down to $0.50? Do coupons adjust down every time or do they sometimes not adjust during mega events? I went today and had 6 $1.00 off Reach coupons that did not adjust down but then they adjusted the $5.00 off from the mega event to $2.00 because of the $3.00 profit I made by the copons not adjusting down.
I was told it is corporate policy for all coupons to adjust down (automatically at the register) to the cost of the item since they do not get reimbursed for the full amount of the coupon.
      Anyone know about this?

      • ireneY

My Ronzoni $1/2 didn't adjust down to $.98, so maybe it's up to the cashier?

        • Chris

My Ronzoni Qs didn't either – she just scanned them and they went in without issue. Same with the Boulder chip Qs. I think it just depends on if they want to be a PITA or not.

          • Country_girlie2007

My Ronzoni Qs didn't go through. The cashier I had said she couldn't adjust printed coupons so I just got six more boxes and payed the .49 a box. I was looking forward to free though.

        • Freestuff4cb

It might also be that the price before the megaevent was more than the coupon.

    • Rae G.

Excellent deals at the Mega Event. The Mega Event reduces the price of items when you purchase 10 or more. I purchased 5 bottles of Kraft BBQ Sauce marked from $.99 down to $.49, used my $.45 coupons and got it for $.04. I also purchased 5 boxes of Ronzoni Quick Cook Noodles for $.49 each, used my $.55 coupons and got a $.06 (x5) applied to my total bill. A great couponing day for a beginner.

      • biskit0323

The 45c coupons was for a bigger bottle of sauce.

        • Rae G.

Oh well… I guess i got luckyy. They accepted them and I saved $$$$$.

          • Sarah

Even if it did go through without problems, that doesn't make it okay. I realize you may have used the coupon not realizing it was for a bigger size, but using a coupon for a different product than specified is coupon fraud and you could get in a lot of trouble for doing it.

            • Rae G.

Wow!!! I save a few pennies. It was an honest mistake and I was NOT trying to fraud the system. Lets face it guys, it is not bank robbery it is coupons :-)…

            • Gingiraffe

I don't think anyone is trying to blame you for being fraudulent, just pointing out to be aware of the wording on coupons since you are new. If everyone didn't read the wording and “got away” with deals, then stores would start losing money and get stricter about their policies and make it more difficult for all of us. We all make honest mistakes, it is just very important to play by the rules so the game can go on!

            • Rae G.

Sarah your opinion is well appreciated….

            • Sarah

I wasn't trying to blame you or anything. I hope you didn't take offense to what I said. I would hate for anyone who is trying to use coupons to save their family money get in trouble with the law and we wouldn't want manufacturers to lose money on coupons because if they do, they'll stop printing them/printing as many or will print them at a lower value.

            • Nonnie Mouse

Actually, the manufacturers don't lose the money, the stores do. The manufacturer gets a little more money for the coupon bouncing at the clearinghouse (so they don't have to honor it) but the store has a total loss. So please do be careful.

          • Femsista

My .45 off coupon was for the size in the mega event. I too was able to use them. So Rae, you didn't do anything wrong. I double checked mine before using them and had my husband check too…and he works for Kroger.

    • Karen5mom

Does anyone know where I can find the coupon for a free $25 gift card for Kroger when getting a new prescription filled? I have been searching for hours and cannot find it. Please HELP!

    • Chris

The $1/1 Boulder Chips Q is back on coupons dot com! Get it while you can – zip 90210.

      • Margoren

        Is it not $1/2?

        • Chris

No they have both again – $1/1 AND $1/2 so be mindful which one you get. But the $1/1 had disappeared and they only had the one off 2 – was glad to see it back for anyone who missed it.

          • Margoren

I could not find the $1/1 on that zip. So sad!

            • Chris

If you go to the site and enter the zip right away then you can click on Food and it should be right there. Sometimes it is further along like on the 3rd page but I just found it again. I hope they haven't changed it in the last few minutes.

          • Margoren

Maybe it's because I printed one (not even two) a few weeks ago? I got one bag today and my kids loved them! I guess $.50 is not a bad price, is it?

            • Chris

Oh yeah that's possible. They have a funky way of enforcing the print limit. You could try another computer if you have one available.

            • Margoren

              We just have one.

    • annon

Yeah, lucky…that's it. More like illiterate.

    • Jenniferbauckman

When does this Mega Sale end?

      • angiej

this is the 2nd week so I would think Sat

    • Sarah

Today, I went to Kroger and did 2 mega item events. Instead of taking 2 $5 at the end like it normally does, it took 50 cents off each item. Has this happened to anybody else? I know it doesn't make a difference, I'm just kind of curious.

      • Lisabluedevil

Yes – it happened to me in Durham, NC last week.

      • linette

When I went last week I noticed that the mega deal did that and the cashier said it was the new way they were doing it. So, it took 50 cents off each item.

        • Sarah

So I wonder if you still have to buy in multiples of 10 after you buy 10. That would be wonderful if you could by 15 and get 7.50 off!

          • Cathy

You still have to buy in 10's.  The .50 only comes off when your mega item total reaches 10.

      • Femsista

Sarah the reason the receipts look different now is because customers complained too much about the old way, so they changed it per customer feedback.

    • Hey guys there's a .50 manufacturer's coupon on One (1) Simply Lemonade,Simply Orange or Simply Apple any size coupon in the Walgreens Spring 2011 Heart Health and You magazine. It says Redeemable @ Walgreens on the bottom right corner but it is a manufacturer's coupon and I've used it on the Simply Orange juice and Simply lemonade 59 oz. before @ Kroger and it scans fine,no problems. I see that the lime and lemonade is in the Mega sale so I just thought that I would mention that. Our store in Tupelo,MS is still doubling so far! :)

      • Jan

Is the orange juice included in the Mega Event? I know that Jenny does not have it listed, but I am hoping that it might just be accidentally left out.

        • Carolina Coupon Mom

          Not included. : (

      • Kenzbug

How much is the Mega Event pricing for it?

    • Kingfishracin

      I'M SO MAD!!!

I went to Kroger today to get 20 boxes of the
Ronzoni pasta that was going to be free with the coupons that I printed from my home computers. I went through the checkout, gave the cashier my coupons and everything went fine. When she scanned the last coupon she said “wow you don't owe anything” thats when it went downhill. The older lady that was bagging my pasta said “LET ME SEE THOSE” and snatched the coupons from the cashiers hand. Knowing that I had done nothing wrong I started pushing my cart towards the door. Then they started yelling for me to come back. I went back to the register where I had checked out and a women, that I am assuming was some kind of manager, started telling me that my coupons were copies. At this point there were several employees around me, one had even taken my cart over to the side and was holding it. The lady kept saying “these have been copied” over and over. She said they were copies because the picture of the product was not fully visible and some had a little color and some did not. I explained to her that my printer was out of color ink and that when printing coupons I am not able to set my printer prefrences before it prints. She then said that since the cashier had already accepted the coupons I could take the pasta. The thing that makes me so mad about this is how unprofessional they were and how they tried to make me look like some kind of criminal in front of everyone in the store. I am thinking of calling the main Kroger office tommorow and letting them have a piece of my mind. I am just not sure if I want to bring anymore attention to people couponing.

      • Chris

See that has happened to me! Someone not even involved in the process of the checkout and not even responsible for the cash drawer butts in and gets mad because you got something for nothing (but effort and time). I would call if it was me – that was ridiculous and uncalled for. If they had any doubts they could have looked at the codes on the Qs and compared them all to see if they were unique or not (copies obviously would have not been unique) – and could even have checked them online if they still had doubts. What a shame that people get so jealous when someone else gets something for free and they don't get the same thing.

        • Rita

Same thing happened to me a while ago – had only 2 coupons that were printed in draft mode not color. I, too, was made to feel like a criminal when I had done nothing wrong, but not because I got something for free, just not in color! I did complain, the manager called me and apologized (also offered a gift card but that was not why I complained – just wanted them to know how I was treated).

        • Bee

Unfortunately I believe you have it all figured out. The employees at some stores do not like it one bit if people carry out free/next-to-free groceries. I feel no sympathy because anyone who wants to put in the time and effort can use coupons.

I guess if people are getting free groceries, it just highlights the fact that we are often saving more in 10 minutes than they make working an entire shift.

          • Nonnie Mouse

I think it probably comes down to fear that the store is losing money and it might put them out of a job. The fact is, the store is MAKING money when you use coupons (with the exception of their chosing to double) unless someone is actually commiting coupon fraud. The solution is probably informing the employees better.

            • Chris

In some cases I would agree. In others it appears to be downright jealousy or just dislike for having to actually think about doing a job versus mindlessly processing transactions.

      • Vicomte

You got 20 free boxes of pasta and you're complaining? Just be thankful and move on, or next time, save some pasta for the other shoppers who may want to take advantage of the sale.

        • Chris

See that's not even the point – the point was that the behavior was uncalled for and unnecessary especially so publicly. If they had an issue they should have asked her to come to the side or to the customer service desk and they could have discussed it there instead of throwing accusations without any basis in fact. If they had done their homework and opened their eyes a little they could have seen whether the Qs had the unique code on them or not. Instead they chose to immediately accuse someone of fraud and cause them to not want to shop in that store again. Whether it's 2, 20, or 2000 it doesn't matter – it's the principal of treating someone the way you want to be treated.

          • Kingfishracin

Exactly Chris. I would have been glad to go to the customer service desk or to the office with them. But for them to have my coupons spread out at the register and her saying “These have been copied” over and over was complete B.S.

        • PAK

          AMEN!!!

      • Freestuff4cb

You should point out to them that all the barcodes were different. Each coupon has 2. The 1st will be the same on like coupons. This tells the computer how much to take off. The 2nd will be different on every printable. I can't believe they did that to you! Horrible behavior!

        • Kingfishracin

Yeah my wife said the same thing about the bar codes. I didn't think about it at the time, I was too busy explaining how a ink jet printer works. I was also so mad that I couldn't think straight.

          • Kenzbug

LOL, sorry you had that trouble, but I know exactly how you feel. Another store (not Kroger) did that same exact thing to me. Told me my coupons were fake. I knew they weren't, but I asked any way how could she tell a fake coupon and she said because you can't even see the picture of the product on the coupon. I've been in there 4 different times, and it's the same every time, they just will not take a printable coupon, the cashiers aren't trained on their own coupon policy, they have been trained that any coupon printed off the internet is a fake. After making 4 phone calls to their corporate office and hearing a bunch of malarky apologies, but nothing ever changed, I just gave up on that store and started shopping only at Kroger. (Although the Kroger cashiers look at me as if I have leprosy when I hand them coupons) But hey, at least they take them and I'm able to save some bucks.

      • Bakreations

I always go to the same krogers and the same 2 cashiers. I make sure I go the days I know they are working. They know me and always take my coupons.

      • Stacey-porknbeansfamily

Do you by any chance live/shop at a Kroger in Louisville, KY? LOL! I swear I had nearly the exact same thing happen to me! With printables (well, many of them anyhow) there is a very quick and simple procedure they can use to verify they were printed legitimately. They would rather disgrace the very people who are the reasons they have paychecks! I left Kroger last time so upset I was shaking! Ooooh…it makes me SO angry!

        • Jennifer

Which Kroger in Louisville, KY do you go to? I have had decent luck at my Krogers, but I did notice last time my coupons did not double.

      • Cecilia415

I had the very same thing happen to me last week!  I had printed Q's for the mega Sunny D, I purchased 10, but only had Q's for 8.  The cashier also accused me of photocopying the Q's.  I had not!  I printed 2, my husband printed 2, my Mom printed 2 and my brother printed me 2.  It was my luck that the Manager was bagging my groceries, she look at them, I pointed out the different codes in the upper right hand corner.  She informed me that I could only use 2 like printable Q's per transaction.  She also said I could make separate transactions to use the rest of the Q's. I told her that was ridiculous and then I wouldn't get the mega deal.  Then I asked about newspaper Q's, she said you can use as many likes of those.  When she said I couldn't use my other 6 Q's, I told her that she just lost a customer and that Publix would take all 8 of them.  She allowed the other 6 to go through.  Honestly, what's the difference to use all 8 Q's in one transaction as opposed to using those same Q's in 4 separate transactions at the same shopping experience
        ? *sigh*

        • Cecilia415

This experience was at Kroger, too, btw.

      • PAK

I've called to HQ last week and spoke with Patty, the Loyalty Administrative Assistant.  She was nice.  She agreed with how I thought an issue should have been handled but it was pretty much up to the manager.  Since I see him on a regular basis he is very nice to me and to all his customers.  However, the regional district manager just kept reading me the riot act about the coupon policy. That's when I researched and found Patty.  I am not shopping there anymore.  Publix is very customer oriented.  Their grocery list on their website is easier to use and will show you what aisles they products are on too!  Oh, you can save it to if you want to update it.  Can't do that on Kroger's shopping list on their website.  That's aggravating!  Good Luck at Kroger!

      • Oldshoes01

I have printed not copied a bunch of these coupons as well for the pasta… I dont have any color ink, I am preparing to go before midnight tonight before the sale ends.. I hope they don't give me issues…

    • HMP

Is there a limit to how many printed coupons you can use at Kroger? I want to get 16 boxes of Ronzoni pasta, 2 bags Boulder Chips, and two other things. I only have coupons I printed off this site.

      • Freestuff4cb

My Kroger will only let me use 2 like printables at a time. I could use 2 coupons for the Healthy Harvest & 2 for the Smart Taste, but would have to make another trip to use more like coupons.

      • Kingfishracin

I don't think so but I have heard different stories. I know for a fact they will take at least ten at my store.

      • Chris

Depends on the store. One near me limits to 6 like Qs for like items. The other has no limit at all – they don't really care (and all stand around and cheer when you spend $200 and get out the door for nothing). I would confirm with your store first and if you don't like their response check the next closest store – each one will probably be different.

        • Nonnie Mouse

The stores get the money back from the manufacturer, plus a few cents extra per coupon for their trouble. So watch for “couponers” perpetuating fraud. If enough people cheat the stores will crack down or discontinue these great deals!

          • Chris

Agreed! Match your Qs to the items specifically and make sure you have the right items and right amounts. I hand them mine in batches and let them know exactly how many Qs I have for how many items so we can both count and make sure it all rings up correctly. I don't mind taking the time, and they taking their time, to get it right.

    • Micaht87

I'm new to couponing, (just lost my job). I have had alot of trouble at my Kroger everytime I use coupons (I go in prpared and organized) they still treat me as if i am a huge inconvience, and when they over charge me (every time I've used coupons) they make me stand at the sevice desk for 30 minutes to an hour before they refund my $ has anyone else had this problem?
      shellybean362436@yahoo.com

      • Nonnie Mouse

Unfortunate. I've shopped about 5-6 Kroger stores personally and have never had less than an okay experience. If your store is that bad, consider contacting HQ's. They do take their customer service seriously and will look into it.

        • PAK

          No they do NOT!

      • PAK

If you have a Publix, go there!  They will treat you much nicer.  Kroger is a “no customer service” store.  They make you think you are getting good deals with these mega events but it is a rouse!  Publix will allow competitors' coupons along with theirs or you can use a manufacturer's with theirs.  Kroger will NOT!  Read their CEO is not getting a bigger bonus this year!  Think that's why they cut out the stacking?!!

    • guest

GGrrrr! I read a comment below that someone said to stop complaining at least you got free pasta. Really. come on now if you think that the 20 boxes of patsa that person bought wiped outr the supply than you need to recalculate your math. 20 boxes is nothing. that store had more than that and you know it. maybe you should quitcomplaining that the shelves are empty and go earlier or see if your store can order more for the sale so that you arent so bitter

      • Kingfishracin

You are correct, 20 boxes was nothing compared to what they had on the shelf. I even made sure that I got different kinds so I would not deplete a certain style. That is why I never commented on that reply.

      • PAK

It is selfish to buy that many unless you plan to donate.  There is no need to buy that many unless you are the Duggers!  The people who buy more than what they need/use or called Hoarders!!  Leave some for others!!

    • shay

how do i get a kroger home mailer?

      • kiersten

i would like to know that same thing! :)

      • Donna

        Call 1-800-krogers to sign up.

      • Nonnnie Mouse

If you are signed up for the customer savings card, you should be getting it. If you are not getting it, go to their site online and update your profile info. They will send you coupons matched to purchases within the last year and even occasional free coupons for things you buy frequently.

    • ThomasMomof4

Has anyone tried using Upromise ecoupons? I tried using them today at Kroger and they did not ecoupon. Luckily i had planned for that and had extra Megas to replace what didn't ecoupon.

      • ThomasMomof4

Sorry, meant to say, They did NOT work.

      • Beth

They don't come off your total. The amount goes into your Upromise account.

    • Eric

Can you use the manufacturers coupon twice?

      • Chris

Absolutely not. One Q per item or deal – depending on what's specified on the Q (for example, $1 off 2, buy this get that for free, etc). Always read your Qs closely and make sure to catch any caveats.

    • Evelynandchris

I have gone a few times to Kroger and some times the Boulder chips are free and sometimes not. I went to one store and bought less than 10 and got them free. I went to another store and because I didn't buy 10, I didn't get them Free. How does this work?

      • itismedia

The only thing I can think of is maybe there is a price variation from one store to the next. The “Best” deal is buying in lots of ten (mixing and matching participating items or ten of the same thing), because you get an extra 5.00 off the sale price in addition you can then add coupons to maximize the savings.

    • Tyedyemomma

I am confused. Forgive me if this has been asked. But in order for the coupons to work on “mega” items I need to purchase 10? Does that mean 10 of the same item or just make sure I have 10 items that are included in the mega event? I don't want a suprise at check out! Thanks :)

      • Asmith

Any 10 items included in the mega event .

      • Laura V.

You have to buy any 10 participating items. Once you have 10, the dollar amount will automatically be deducted off your total bill. You can have multiple sets of this in one transaction. Once I think I got 50 mega items in one transaction and received 25 dollars off.

      • Laura V.

        @tyedyemomma See my response above.

      • Anataliep

10 items included in the mega event, you can mix them.

        • PAK

At Walmart you don't have to buy 10 to get a cheaper price.  Their items are cheaper usually by a cent or two.  If not, they'll match Kroger's. It'll drive you nuts to try to keep up with how many of 10's you bought. If you have coupons that can't be doubled you are better off at the crazy place….Wally World!

    • Jellibean939

Trying to print coupons and it comes up they dont support my printer….. but i can click on other items and print fine. i have coupons printer installed and it works fine… whats going on?? i want the pasta coupons, and butter spread

    • JessB

I miscalculated last week on the Mega Event (only bought 8) but i went to the cashier at customer service and she let me buy two more items and refunded me $5 for the event. Although I did not get the deals for the other items, the $5 credit helped.

Something to keep in mind if you come up short after checking out…

      • Dduncan

I take a reusable shopping bag and put 10 items in and when I have the correct number I tie it up and then start on another that way I don't come up short prior to getting to the cashier.  Also, if I was two short like you were I would get a small ticket item (included in the Mega event) to make my ten but not cost me as much.

        • ilazria

Thanks so much for posting this! i often find i'm just one or two items short, usually due to distraction or grabbing more or less of an item than i originally intended. this will be a big help.

    • Ayanlang

ALERT. As of today, the Kroger in Roswell did NOT allow e-coupons to come off with paper coupons. My paper coupons beeped and were rejected by the machine after the e-coupons came off. This was annoying because I had a $1 off Nature Made e-coupon plus a $3 paper coupon – and I couldn't exchange the e-coupon for the bigger paper coupon. I wonder if this will be permanent going forward.

      • Chris

They have that on their website now. If you login to your Kroger Plus account it will show you the eCoupons available and tell you that eCoupons cannot be used with paper coupons and that the eCoupon comes first.

      • Jellibean939

I used my paper coupons first… then gave them my kroger card and both went through for me. Im in VA don't know if it's different here…. but you can try

        • Ayanlang

Thanks for the tip. I should now remember to give them my Kroger card last so that paper coupons will be accepted. Any e-coupons that come off after that is just gravy – but paper coupons double!

      • PAK

Most definitely YES!!  That's why I stopped shopping there! I talked to the manager at mine and he said I could ask the cashier to call one of his assistant mgrs over and they would take the paper q.  I told him it was not considerate of me to hold other people up in line.  Besides, it is the principle of the matter.  He has always seen me in there and he is very nice but I will take my coupons that are 55 and over to walmart. I have been shopping at Publix when they have their BOGO's and they take competitors' coupons too.  They are also more customer friendly.

    • Mpb1971

does anyone have a zipcode for the Breyers coupon? It won't come up for my area

    • Sorry if this has already been asked or answered, but has anyone been able to find the deal on reach toothbrushes? My store said they haven't had any at that price (.50). I'd love some free toothbrushes before this coupon expires!!

      • MelRae

The price listed (in this case 50 cents) is the final price when you buy 10 items, so the 50 cents off is figured in.  So the shelf price of the Reach toothbrushes is $1.  Sorry, Jenny usually posts an explanation about that…I see she did not this time!

        • Jellibean939

my store doesnt have them on mega event. They are 2.19!!! and haven't been  in stock for 4 weeks!

      • My Kroger didn't have these either.  They were $1.99-.50 for the mega event.

      • tonya1

        me 2…. :0)

      • ireneY

Cheapest at my store was $1.99.

    • Mimibeckham

My Kroger's has a new policy now on coupons;  only 2 like coupons allowed at checkout.  if you have more, you have to ring up separate

    • Cyndi

Does anyone know where the command hooks are in Kroger?  Couldn't find them last week and no one around to ask.

    • Awantedmom

      How do you print coupons

      • sharon60

If you click on the blue “printable” from the above ad, it will open another window with the coupon, click “print”.  If you do not have “coupon printer” loaded to your computer, it will prompt you to download.  IF the coupon is still available to print, AFTER you've printed one copy, you can either hit your “back” button and refresh your screen to print a second one (if allowed) or follow the prompts to redisplay the list of coupons and click “print” again.  Most allow 2 prints per computer, but sometimes it's only 1 print.

Manufacturers distribute a limited number of prints and once those are gone, the response when you click “print” could either be “no prints available” or “you've already printed your limit”.

At the top of this screen you really should click on “Learn to coupon”.  It tells you everything you need to know.  Good luck!

    • AshleyB

my nearest kroger is griffin ga, my question is….how many transactions will they allow you to do back to back? I have a lot of identical coupons that are one coupon per purchase but i want to use as many as possible while the deals are there since they arent perishable items. thanks!!

      • AshleyB

and during mega events, do you get $5(.50 off each item) for every group of ten you buy? like if i bought 20 items i would get 10??

        • Kroemerk

I am not sure about the number of transactions, but as far as the mega event, yes you get 5.00 for each set of 10.  I dont know if there are stores that limit it by policy, my store here in Indiana is very nice.

    • PAK

Yawn, yawn!  Kroger is so boring with these mega events! Walmart is cheaper and will match Kroger's supposely sales.  The best place to shop is Publix.  They have the BEST coupon policy.  Kroger doesn't allow stacking anymore and has never accepted competitors' coupons.  I haven't been to Kroger in weeks and not planning on going back.  Been shopping at Publix, Target and Walmart. I'm done with Kroger!

    • PAK

      AMEN!!!

    • Oldshoes01

I cant seem to get the Kraft barbecue sauce printable coupon anywhere…. some of them send me to familiar sites with coupons but the barbecue sauce is not in there I don't understand why??
Please help…. I need to get to Krogers before midnight tonight.. ty
