Hello, I just wanted to touch base with some of you. I am in Warner Robins GA. The store on hwy 96 has done nothing but give me problems. For example. I bought 16 cans of Chef Boyardee yesterday. I had 8 coupons .50/2. making the cans 50 cents each. Then I had 4 coupons “buy 4 cans of Chef Boyardee receive a free SnackPack” found it on a tearpad last week. Well I had a young girl open a register up and when I started unloading my cart a manager took over. Well this is what she did. She rang up all my groceries and when she realized I had coupons she printed a copy of the printout and stood there for, I kid you not, 10 minutes matching coupons to items. Not only did she hold the line up for 10 minutes she handed me half my coupons back. Telling me the coupon states “one coupon per purchase”. Well I argued with her about a purchase being an item. It didnt state 1 transaction or 1 visit. But since she had the line backing up and everybody was probably getting mad at me I just took them back and went home. Then when I got home I realized she forgot to give me one of my old spice products for free. I had the BOG coupons aannd I had ecoupons for 3 dollars off. So I was scoring them for less than 1 dollar. Anyways I contacted several other grocery chains and another Kroger just to make sure I was not being unreasonable. All other chains said she should have taken the coupons and another Kroger told me she should have at least tried to scan them. So I went back to the store to get my money for the BOGO back and to insist I get the money for the coupons. She wasnt happy about it at all after I told her who all i talked to and what they said. But she reluctently took all the coupons and gave me my money. She said she would call corp and inquire the guidelines and call me back. Well she dont have to worry about that because I will stop going to that Kroger. I found out from a fellow couponer (lol) that this store is notorious for causing problems like this. They also argued with me over the snack pack coupons, telling me that the cans are connected to that coupon and thats the other reason they wouldnt take the other chef coupons. This store acts like they are losing money or something when we use coupons like this. When in fact, when we “make” money off these coupons so are they. I mean if they sell something for 1.50 and I have a 2 dollar coupon they are making 50 cents right along with me. What is wrong with this store? Anybody else having this problem there? Please let me know if you are having issues with this place also.

Sorry you are having issues. I don't live in GA and have never had coupon problems with Kroger. The only place I have ever been that would not honor a coupon is Target, but in the end it was not a big deal~I just took the coupon somewhere else.

As for cashiers, managers, etc acting as if they are personally paying for the discount~I don't understand this either, unless the “coupon police” have instructed them to scrutinize at the risk of being written up.

On the whole, I have found that 90% of cashiers will go by the “beep” test. If it scans, they will let you use it. However, that can work against you too, because sometimes the coupon is PERFECTLY valid and you have purchased the item pictured, in the size indicated, and they don't want to take the coupon! That's when you have to practice diplomacy, because, let's face it, they really don't HAVE to take the coupon. The cashier has to answer for the drawer at the end of the day and sometimes they are confined by the computer. For instance, I had a valid coupon one day for a free item, but the computer would only offer certain items for the cashier to take off, and none of them were the item I bought. Fortunately, one item (a towel holder) was the same price as my free item, so she just made my towel holder “free”. I have been a little embarrassed at times, but I always insist on cashiers paying attention. They just want to beep through your stack and get it over with, and that doesn't always work. I separate out BOGO and value off for them, but half the time they mix them back up.

Other cashiers know exactly how to get all the coupons to work and congratulate me on my good deals!

I had the same issues with our local Kroger in March. I contacted Corp myself since the store manager never bothered to get back with me and this is the email that was sent to me. It explains the coupon policy:

        TO: ALL MID-ATLANTIC STORES

        ATTN: STORE MANAGERS

? All coupons are to be scanned at the end of the order.
? Quantity of purchased items must be satisfied per the coupon.
? Coupon must not exceed the value of the item.
? We will only accept two (2) Internet Coupons per manufacturer product per transaction.

? Multiple coupons on the same item

        Reminder:

        Double Coupon Policy

? We double all Manufacturer coupons on any item up to $.50 in value unless otherwise stated on the coupon.
? Limit one (1) coupon per item.
? If a customer presents a large quantity of like items and coupons, cashier should contact Management. None sold to Dealers and quantity rights reserved.

        • ivegotcutekids

This brings up a question for me. I see that in the post it is saying the 50cent off coupon for Tabasco makes it free, but my coupon says “do not double.” Will they double it anyway?

      • http://nursebrittney.blogspot.com/ NurseBrittney

I bought 16 cans of Chef Boyardee yesterday. I had 8 coupons .50/2. making the cans 50 cents each. Then I had 4 coupons “buy 4 cans of Chef Boyardee receive a free SnackPack”

        – Actually from what I see it appears you are trying to use too many coupons.
The 8 $1/2 qs would attach to all 16 of those barcodes. I know its usually 1q 1 code, but because those are specifically off 2, thats why you had the issue. Thereform, in order to use the snack pack coupons, you would have to get 4 more pastas (and use only that q). because that q attaches to 4 codes.
        Make sense?
This is one of those harry situations.

        • Michele

Actually, the “buy 4 cans of Chef Boyardee receive a free SnackPack” would count as coupons for the snack packs not the Chey Boyardee, because the discount is for those items.

      • KimmyM

It's probably because it's a new Kroger. The one on Russell gives me no problems. They may not say hello or really acknowledge me, but I'm okay with that. They scan all the coupons and only hand them back to me if they won't go through. They are bad about handing back catalina coupons and I'll have to mention it. But then again, that's kinda good for me because they will have forgotten all the people that went through before me and I get all theirs they forgot to hand back too.

        • sarahdj

haha, this happened to me for the first time the other day – I never buy Pringles, but apparently catalinas were printing out for them – and someone in front of me must have bought some and didn't know about it either – yay for free money! :-D

      • barbara

have very few problems with kro in longview tx -but- many problems with local chain-brookshires-they will honor web qs @75 %!!

      • WRGAGIRL

I live in WR also and when I do shop at Kroger which is very rare, I go to the one on 96. I ALWAYS use the self check out line. It is soo much easier and I do not feel like I am holding anyone up. I have luckily never had a problem checking out with coupons at this Kroger BUT it is probably because on the rare occasions that I do shop there I do not buy a whole bunch because to me Kroger doesn't have the best sales in the world. Every once and awhile they will have a good deal on a few products but usually its not worth my time. I do however get my meat and things like that from Kroger because they are cheaper than most anywhere in town but as you know most of the time there are no coupons for that. My suggestion here is to just buy very few items from there or go to the one on Russell. I don't know what it is about the Kroger on 96 but I do always feel like they look at you different if you use coupons. lol

    • Michelle

i went through the bertolli sign up process, and it said no prints are available. :(

      • Jess

Sad….!!! No prints left for me either. And my husband loves those things (so nice to come home to after working a long day).

    • pattismith

    • Michelle

    • dana

i live in woodstock, ga area and there are several coupon books in sev. papers and they are all different. it seams that all the deals go with the coupon books that come in the AJC. is anyone coordinating the “Evening Edge” or the “Cherokee Tribune” coupons with the deals? or is there and easy way to figure this out?

      • Jessica

The coupon circulars in the Evening Edge are “lighter” versions of the AJC. If you look on the spine you can see what date they corespond to. The SS is normally from the previous Sunday and the RP is from the coming Sunday. They normally are pretty similar to what you find in the AJC, but sometimes are missing a few coupons. I don't know about the Tribune, but it should be similar.

Our ad near Roanoke area is sooooo different. Just called BF on phone as I sent him to get dinner. Biggggg Mistake. Saw the John Soules and wanted Fajitas. They don't carry in Kroger here and it's not even in our paper. Im soo sickened that he spent $22 on 4 tiny Tyson fajita strips, 1LB of shrimp (7.99) and some tortillas. I felt crappy so I sent him. Now he could have picked it up already fixed, taste better and I wouldn't have been so upset of the money. UGGGGHHH LOL. I wanted steak to start with and when not on this list I looked for something else. Strip steak on sale in our flyer. Man Im upset lol. Just have surgery Wed. and wanted good dinner before then. Boy will I not offer to pay on what he gets again . Big Mouth me. LOL
We have a 10 for $10 sale this week, zip 24012.

I am condersidering driving 45 minutes to the closest Kroger. because where i live there is only one store that doubles coupons only up to 50 cents but do not take printable coupons. Is it worth my drive and does anyone know where i can get a copy of their coupon policy? Thank you all

      • peg938

Some weeks it will be worth the drive and some weeks it won't. I think you can get their coupon policy from their website. You might want to mention which area you're thinking of going to. Maybe someone will be familiar with that Kroger and give you advice. :)

    • Kathy

I'm new to couponing, but I noticed that CVS has the Irish Spring body wash for 2.99. It's .11 more than Kroger, but there's 2.00 extra bucks back (I think) and with the .50 in the paper 4/25, it seems that it would be cheaper at CVS. Hope I'm right (CVS confuses me) because I think I'll get it there instead of Kroger.

Is the Prevecid really a profit item? Has anyone confirmed? Just wondering after the issue at Rite Aid with the same coupon code on the RA and mfg coupon.

      • randi

I got the Prevecid at Kroger this week with ecoupon and $6 mani. It worked for me and made a tiny bit overage.

    • Christina

Does anyone know how to find the Huggies coupon on coupons.com website. Is there a certain zip code?

Well for anyone that read my post below. Momof4 thank you for the copy of the email from corporate. Today this morning as a matter of fact the store manager called me back and read me the exact same guidelines. I went to another Kroger and asked them also. They told me the same thing. Sooo I told them unfortunately I will only be shopping at Kroger if I have no other option. Because If I can go to Publix and save more money I would much rather do that. I told them that other stores accept competitor coupons for additional savings and the manager was absolutely blown away by this and by the overage idea. Frankly I believe Kroger should really update their policies. I don't think its ok for me to be able to buy 10 items but only use 2 internet coupons per manufacturer. So anyways I hope everyone else has better luck with their Krogers and continues doing good with saving monies there. Happy couponing everyone. Publix here I come!!!

    • bravo375

My Kroger in North Alabama has Ken's 8oz salad dressings 10/$10. Coupled with the B1G1 q, this makes them $0.50 each.

      • randi

My kroger in Marietta, GA also had Ken's for $1.

Out of curisity, Jenny stated something about playing with Zips and finding Qs… why doesn't she post those zips? I also have browsed the comments and not found any zips.
Is there a reason for this?
In fact I see a comment that looks like it might have had a zip removed by the moderator. Is that the case? Is it a no no to post zips? Because I really want some of those qs and have no idea what zip to use….

    • catie516

I was about to go on to 'complain' about Kroger when I read Sarbina Sabine's comment. I was floored last Wed when I went to check out 4 of the grill mates and to use 4 coupons (which would have made them free, no overage, but free) I was told that I could double the first but not the second (and these were not internet coupons)! I complained to all my coupon pals (and there are a lot of them) and they said 'call the manager and see if that is really the policy?' I called and was told yes, it is the policy and then after lengthy repeating, I told them the same as Sabrina's – Publix now has a steady customer! They are FRIENDLY to the customers at Publix! Why bother with Kroger when they don't want our business!!!

      • randi

my kroger told me the same thing this week on the Tabasco. I had 4 coupons and they said they would double the first and not the rest. So, I said I would just take 1. I got 5 grill mates but since they were all different flavors, they allowed all 5 coupons. The cashier said that has been their policy for awhile but most cashiers don't know it. Crazy!

      • zombiemommy

Try different Krogers, the one near my house says this is their policy, but the one .25 mile farther is not their policy…

    • justjenn

Well, went to Kroger, especially for the Speedstick (had two .50 coupons and one .75! Three for .25!) Also for the pasta, had three $1.00 off coupons! and we eat some pasta here in my house. And for the milk. Well, our Kroger did not have their milk on sale. I live near Nashville, TN. Am not happy about the milk not being $1.88, but am going to call around and see if it is just my local Kroger or what.

      • Abbie

Nashville area Kroger's are in the Louisville region. Jenny's lists are based off the Southeast region ad. Meat, Produce, and Dairy are usually different for those of us in the Louisville region. I usually check out faithfulprovisions.com for the Nashville area differences. I like Jenny's matchups better, since they're more thorough, but Faithful Provisions has the correct Meat, Produce, and Dairy for our area.

    • justjenn

Went to my local Kroger to get a few deals. Speedstick- had two coupons for .50 off, and one for .75! Old Spice deodorant- had a B1G1 and then an Ecoupon for $3.00 off one! The B1G1 got me $4.29 off, don't know how but was thrilled! Then the pasta, had three $1.00 off coupons. But when I went to get my milk, it was NOT on sale for $1.88. I am really new at this “deal” thing. I have been an off and on couponer for years, but have a question about Krogers and their ads. Are they really that different that in Tennessee I would have to pay $2.39, a sale price, when others in other states pay only $1.88?

      • shannon denham

i guess so! here in mississippi we pay $3.78 for a gallon of milk!! makes me SICK!!

    • karen

today i went to my local kroger and had an ajc coupon and then got an in store coupon for a particular item and they wouldn't let me use both because they said you can only use one coupon per item, since when, the lady tried to ring it up and it said to many coupons, so i went home and thought maybe i had it on my ecoupons but i looked and nope it wasn't there, what gives here, i thought we were allowed more than one coupon per item as long as they were not two manufacturers or two in store etc, etc.

      • Amy

Just in case you didn't get the deal last week, Kroger has the Old Spice Deo and body wash on sale this week for $3.50 each. When you use your Buy one get one free deo and buy one get one free body wash coupon along with the kroger loadable $3.00 off 2 body washes and $3.00 off any two deos you end up paying only $1.00 for 2 deos and 2 body washes. GREAT DEAL!!!!

      • njshopper

I did the Old Spice body wash and deo this last night and used the B1G1. Thought my bill was high. Look at the receipt when I got home. The cashier didn't deduct the free body wash. But, I had a lot of coupons and everything else he did great. But, neither of my ecoupons came off for the body wash or the deo. So, I will be taking these back. I paid $10.50 for three things of Old Spice. The prevacid came off fine. Looked on my account this morning, and the ecoupons are still there. I bought the correct items. Don't know what happened.

        • njshopper

Sorry. $10.50 for 4 things of Old Spice, not three.

    • Paula

In the Target deals there is a link for $1 off 2 Nabisco or Chip Ahoy Products. It takes you to facebook where you can print the coupon. I am planning to try to use them on the Nabisco snack paks on sale at Kroger for $1.

    • Amy

YAY!!!! Just went to Kroger and bought a 14 day and a 42 day pack of Prevacid. Had a $6 and a $10 paper coupon, as well as a $6 and a $10 e-coupon from Kroger's website. I paid $4.98 +tax for 56 days of Prevacid!!!!! Thank you Jenny for all you taught me!!!

    • Amanda

Not sure if anyone else saw this BUT…last night at my Publix (in Marietta, GA) there was a blinkie with $1 off Starbucks coffee.. not bad since it is on sale for $6.99 at Kroger this week!

I don't know what it is about the Kroger on 96 but I do always feel like they look at you different if you use coupons. lol
