This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.

These deals start Sunday 4/4 in Kroger. They are running a new promotion this week, and unlike true Mega events I’m not listing all the participating items. Why? This deal doesn’t get you money off your groceries instantly but instead free movie tickets or downloads. Since we are all about meeting our budgets focus only on the items participating that are deals rather than paying more for something just to get a few free songs. If you are just dying to see all the participating items, go here.

I will update the list later in the day Sunday after I walk through Kroger.shoppinglist1
Remember:

  1. Load your Shortcuts and Cellfire Coupons before going out. (E coupons information)
  2. You do not have to buy 2 of B1G1 items to get the sale price.
  3. Most Kroger stores double coupons that are .50¢ or less.

same here, which is probably a good thing. :)

      What a weird sale?!

    • Hey Jenny,

Have you heard anything about the use of paper coupons voiding the pre-loaded e-coupons? I'm hearing that as of April 1, if you use a paper coupon and an e-coupon at Kroger, the e-coupon won't work. Do you know? Is it really over?

      • jen

I don't know if this helps, but I went April 1st and bought Prevacid, used a 6 dollar paper coupon and the 6 dollar e coupon came off making it free + overage.

      • joanna00

I just returned from Kroger. I had many ecoupons for the products I bought, but when I used a paper coupon, the ecoupon did not appear on the receipt. In fact, the ecoupons didn't even show up pre-coupon scanning (like they usually do). Pretty disheartening… The only ecoupon that came off was through Shortcuts (PB biscuits, even though I used a paper coupon, too).

      • ASmith

Went April 2 in Richmond, VA and $1.00 off Snuggle e coupon came off and it took my $3.00 off paper coupon.

    • carolc23

With the promotion, can you earn more than one movie ticket?

    • Barb

Yes a strange promotion. I may attempt to get one or two movie tickets with low cost items I would have purchased anyway.

    • ireneY

The Fage yogurt IP allowed 3 prints. Hit the back button 3 times to get back to coupon generator. If you print more than 3, the coupon prints duds that say “you have exceeded your household limit”
Jenny, thank you for the fantastic matchups. I love Greek yogurt!

    • randi

anyone know the price of the Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets?

      • jhoran

        3.69

      • katherenahoffman

3.69 at the kroger in texas. Just bought some this week and the liquid was 3.89.

      • Hesperides

        $3.99 in TN

      • ASmith

It was $4.12 for the sheets and 3.38 for the liquid on Friday April 2. I didn't check the tag to see the end date. In Richmond VA

    • Jessthere

I tried to load the cellfire coupon for $2/2 Ben & Jerry pints and there are several coupons on the site that are not available for Kroger, says to add card for these stores.
      Carrs
      Dominick's
      Genuardi's
      Pavilions
      Randalls
      Safeway
      Tom Thumb
      Vons

      • Sherri

yeah whats up with that? why are Ben & Jerry's & many other coupons listed but not for Kroger? That just stinks…

        • Jessthere

Does not make since, first time I have ever seen this before. And I really wanted to “hide” some ice cream (have a 20 yo here that can eat 1/2 gallon in a day) so I quit buying except on occasion and put them in the bottom of the garage freezer so me and his dad can at least get a bowel..lol

          • AK

“bowel” instead of “bowl”…that is definately a lol!!!

            • Jessthere

Dang, see what happens when you let your fingers do your talking…lol

    • Jessthere

This is the 1st time I have seen Splenda on any of the posts. For those of you that use Splenda like I do, Walgreens runs them every so often at $2.99/100 and last week CVS had them for $5.99/200. I was able to print $3.50 off 2/200 boxes (also included bulk splenda on the coupon).

    • Jan

While I agree in principle about the buy 10 get ringtones, songs or movie tickets. If you are already buying the items (was out of nutrigrain bars for school lunches), making sure to get multiples of 10 is worth considering. The movie tickets make a very nice gift item. I bought 20 Kelloggs nutrigrain bars (made sure to get the packages with the $5 coupons inside) sale price 1.99 (reg 3.59) used the $1/2 MC that expire today and got two movie codes. These are Hollywood movie cash good at all the Carmike/Regal cinemas in my area up to $12. They expire 6-21-10. I got both codes in the same transaction. Gave them to my teenage son (and his girlfriend) as an Easter gift.

    • big john

please note!!!!! this was my experince nit saying good or bad just giving info. i bought 8 snuggle couple of fuzes. got one rememtion code. 1 15 ringtones we have faily new verizon phones they allow you to test none of our phones worked lg/samsung. they do not preview music downloads but they are from true trax. had never heard of them went to net for lookup and found complaints about them but never truetrax themselves. movie theaters all the theaters in our area favetteville are participating. but do not know what restictions there will be. wont be getting any more down this road just my experience.

      There is a $1 off coupon for 2 Arm & Hammer detergents @ http://www.armandhammer.com/index.aspx

    • JennyU

My Kroger Ad (Knoxville TN) shows the Yoplait Yogurt as a participating item for the free movie ticket. I am so excited. This is the first time the ad online does not match the printed ad for me. I am so excited, with the coupons, I can get 12 yogurts for $3, plus get a free movie ticket! It does not show up on the shopping list of participating items, so I hope it is not a mistake.

      • Lori

I am in Georgia and I didn't see it as a participating item online. I would take the ad in to the store. They will have to honor it!

      • JennyU

I am not very happy. My store would not honor the yogurt as a participating item, even though I had the ad from the paper. The ad in the store does not match the ad in the paper, even though both of them say that they are valid at Knoxville stores. They apparently have had a lot of trouble with the ads not matching. I just wonder how a mistake like that can even be made?

        • ireneY

You must live near the edge of some sort of division. A while back, asparagus was on sale online at one location near me, and it wasn't at another location two miles away.

Kroger customer service is fairly accommodating. Let them know — they may give you a gift certificate, or something to make up for your trouble.

        • Sarah

Thank you so much for pointing this out JennyU. Sorry you had a bad experience with this, but because of your posts, I had a very successful trip!

I went to the Kroger Marketplace in Farragut where I always have had great customer service, and when the Yoplait didn't work for the promotion, I didn't even say anything to the cashier. I just walked over and showed CS my ad. They “tricked” the system by scanning another participating item the number of times needed for me and gladly gave me the resulting codes.

I got 18 Yoplait (we LOVE yogurt!) and 2 Smart Balance sour creams + 2 movie ticket codes for about $5. My husband and I could really use a free date night before our 3rd little one makes her arrival in June, so this will be great! I hope that this is helpful to someone else too!

          • JennyU

Thanks! I think I will head over to that Kroger tomorrow.

        • Lori

They honored it for me. They said that they added it at the last min. It wasn't in their store ad, but it was in their ad that I got in the mail! So they should honor it! I went back the next day and they gave me the code.

    • Dole salad is on sale for $1.50 at my Kroger (in Richmond, VA), go onto Shortcuts.com and load a coupon for Dole salad .75 cents off one and get a bag of salad for only .75 cents! :)

    • MomOf4Blessings

Does anyone know the prices of the Smart Balance butter blend sticks or sour cream? That might be a cheap way to earn the movie tickets, etc.

      Thank you!

      • Denise

I have a bunch of q's for these I'd like to know too!

      • Sarah

I bought the sour cream at .99 with .55 coupons. Don't know about the butter though.

        • MomOf4Blessings

So your final price was .44¢, or was it .99¢ after the coupon? My coupons are for $1/1, so that would be even cheaper.

          Thanks, Sarah!!

          • Sarah

            Final price $.44

            • MomOf4Blessings

              Awesome! Thanks, Sarah!!

The McCormick spice, herb, extract, or food color is supposed to generate catalinas through 4/11 ($1.50 wyb 2, $2.50 wyb 3 or more). Does anyone know if this includes the McCormick Grill Mates? If so, that is a pretty sweet deal. I have some $0.75 off coupons from the 3/14 RP, which means I would pay $0.25 each for them, and if I bought three and used three coupons I would get a catalina for $2.50. Has anyone tried this? I'd love to know if the $1 Grill Mates can be used for the catalina deal.

      • jessyca

i have went to kroger 2 different times and bought 2 mccormick spices each time and i havent gotten a catalina either time.. i just remembered it happened a second time of not getting any after reading your post.. :(

      • Sarah

I bought 3 yesterday, and no catalina… Still free seasoning!

    • annakmatson

I wondering if the cellfire and shortcuts coupons only come off once. If I buy 2 nut clusters and i have a coupon on cellfire for it, will it come off once or twice?

sorry for the multiple comments. my computer went a little haywire :)

    • michelle

anyone know what kind of movie ticket you get a code for?? i took advantage of that promo for the Toy Story/2 BluRays and got my hubby and daughter 2 tix for Toy Story 3 to go on Fathers Day. Wouldn't mind joining them…

The Sobe Lifewater is the best deal in this particular promo for me. I already love the stuff and they're a dollar to boot….$10 worth of drinks I like and a free movie ticket. Not bad!

      • Melanie

The movie ticket is for most theaters, I believe. Here in my area, Carmike and Columbiana Grande are the ones I go to, and both were on the list.

    • My Kroger has the Disney vitamins on sale – Buy one get one free. I had a Kroger coupon for $2 off any 2 bottles, and I had 2 more Mfr. coupons for $1 off each bottle. One bottle of vitamins cost $6.99 – so with my coupons I got 2 bottles of vitamins (a $14 value) for $3. LOVE IT!!

    • Melanie

I am loving the Kroger digital deal. Went yesterday and today, and got a free movie ticket each time. Had already made plans to go to a movie tonight, so it came in handy. I bought sobe lifewater after getting a catalina for b1g1 yesterday. In my Kroger magazine, there was a coupon for the frozen Kroger potatoes. I had an awesome $3 off two Tombstone pizzas (gotten from a tear bad awhile ago, don't know from where) got Pringles. Got lots of the Smart Balance products yesterday using coupons. I think the 16 oz. sour creams were free using $1 coupons. My husband loves Smart Balance products and thinks the butter/margarine has a much better flavor than other brands. I won't be surprised if I go back a third time! Kroger is very near my house, and I am working toward the gas reward.

    • Lauren

I called about which movie theaters the tickets are valid for. They said you have three options:
      1) Fandango
      2) Hollywood Movie Money
      3) Mail in rebate of your ticket receipt

    • Christine

Well, I just went to print my “free ticket” and found out it was only good for 4 theaters in a 40 mile radius–they are just too far away. I was so looking forward to giving my husband a ticket..at least I didn't buy anything I didn't need. Christine

      • Christine

Sooo..I changed the requesting zip code to further south of us and alot more (and MUCH closer) theater choices came up–Now the coupon will not print–the next installment of this saga coming soon…..

    • Justeres

I had a huge issue with the Kroger store in Garner, NC today. After trying to redeem several “blinkie coupons” for Kraft cheese ($2/2), I was told by the cashier and then a female manager of the store that “we do not accept any more than 2 coupons per item” that she translated into “2 like coupons for however much you buy of one product = kraft cheese.” Even though I politely explained to her that I was buying double the packs of cheese than I had coupons for (1Q per 2 packs of cheese!), she insisted on only allowing 2 like coupons for the whole order! I was very embarrassed and called Kroger corporate to verify when I got home. They told me that I was right and could have used as many as I needed as long as it ended up being 1 coupon per product. But they also said that ultimately “the store manager has the last say on the quantity you purchase.” Although, today it was clearly the manager's misinterpretation of the coupon policy, and nothing to do with the amount of cheese I was purchasing! How frustrating and embarrassing – I doubt I'll be shopping Kroger anytime soon! At least until they are willing to make their coupon policy widely accessible and a standard among all of their stores! Corporate also told me that they cannot email or mail out their coupon policy but I could ask for it at the store.

My friend told me she has the same rule at her Apex, NC store. I, luckily, haven't run into that at my Cary, NC store. I don't shop there often but last time I did I used a raincheck and 24 .30 coupons (that all doubled) for free Rotel with no problem. That cashier is ridiculous because Kroger often has Kraft on sale during their Mega 10 events for .99 without a coupon so I can't believe they'd give you a hard time about getting that price WITH a coupon. I'm sorry:(

I found a great deal on Old Orchard reduced sugar juices at my Kroger. They are on sale for $1.50 and there are $.55 hang tags on some of them. My store doubles up to $.60, so $.40 each for the juices! There is also a $.50 Old Orchard printable out there, but I can't remember the link.

My store had Keebler Town House and Club crackers on sale for 1.88 a box. The boxes have coupons stuck on them for $2 off when you buy 2 boxes- making the crackers only 88 cents a box!

I just got home from Kroger where I bought (3) Betty Crocker Potato pouches for $1.19 each (Cary,NC price). I used (3) $0.40 internet coupons which doubled and then it automagicaly took off $0.40 for a shortcuts coupons and $0.40 off for a cellfire coupon. My total including tax was $0.42. Then a $3 cataline printed!!! I don't really like those potato pouches, but I love making money!

I bought 2 kraft velveeta shells cups and use a B1G1 coupon, then it printed off a 50 cents off catalina for next time. This made the shells 19 cents each!

Where did you get the B1G1 coupon for the kraft velveeta shells?

I got 20 participating items from my kroger to get two free movie tickets but only one code for a free movie printed instead of two. The ladies at my store actually told me you had to buy 50 items to get ta second ticket and they weren't at all nice about it. I went home and got online and on the phone for 45 min. trying to find out the truth and they were wrong. I was supposed to get two codes and the fourth person I talked to on the phone was the only nice or helpful one I got. I am supposed to get my code soon but I have a very bad taste in my mouth about my kroger and don't want to go back.

I bought 20 of the participating items to get two movie tickets and only one coupon code printed. The lady at customer service told me not at all nicely that I had to have 50 items to get a second ticket. I spent 45 min. online and on the phone getting shuffled to one phone number after another. The fourth person I spoke with was the only nice or helpful person I spoke with. The Kroger website clearly states that a new code will be given for every ten item purchase and I am getting my code shortly. Not at all happy with my Kroger. I don't want to go back because they were so rude.
