Hi Jenny! For those of us new to e-coupons, can you explain how it is supposed to work? I loaded some coupons with P&G. I went to Kroger last week to try it out. I got 2 Herbal Essence products. I scanned my Kroger card, scanned the items, then…….I never saw the discount come up. Is it supposed to be instant? I was in the self checkout, so I just cancelled the order, and decided to try again later.

So, exactly when should we see the coupon applied? When the item is scanned…..or at the end of the total order? Also, is there a way to verify that the coupons are actually on your Kroger card? I wondered if maybe I inputed the wrong card # on the coupon websites?

Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated!

    • shelia

it is instant. be sure you are buying the right advertised brand, size and quantity

    • shelia

please be certain you are buying the correct item, label and quantity. For example, you may have a coupon for Tide He detergent; however you chose the regular tide. You will only get the coupon for the correct item. Also, double check your registered card number with the actual card. These are all mistakes I have made

    • Jenny

I experimented with my Kroger card for the first time several weeks ago and when the ecoupon did not come off, the cashier told me that had happened to other customers and she was reporting it to the manager. She manually gave me the coupon amount off (it was only one coupon so I knew exactly how much and I guess I looked honest!). I haven’t tried again, but probably will this week. When I got home, I double checked my card number (it was right) and that the coupon was still there (it was), so be sure to report any problems to the store manager if you have any other problems.

    • Jenny

p.s. I’m not southernsaver Jenny, but another Jenny! (I can only hope to be as savvy with coupons as she is!)

    • Katie

My e-coupons always come up after the cashier presses total – not when the item is scanned. just an fyi!

    • Sienna

Are you able to use cellfire and shortcuts coupons together?

    • Mary

You can print a list of all of your coupons, that are loaded to your Kroger card, on the Kroger wesite and take it wiht you to the store. When I have used the loaded coupons they show up when you are ready to pay. It will ask for any coupons and before you can scan your coupons, your e-coupons will be deducted. If it was supposed to and didn’t then you have your list with you to show the cashier.

    • Jenny

You can only use one e coupon per item, but if you buy 2 items it will use a cellfire and shortcuts coupon for each item (if you had two loaded). I have answered as many e coupon questions as possible in a recent post.

    • Thanks for all your hard work Jenny! Looks like you’re starting to get some good traffic ;)

    • Karen

The County Crock side dishes are on sale 2 for $4.00 according to my ad and the store shelf. That makes them $2.75 each not .75 each. How did you get that?

    • Karen

Oops, I mean they say it’s on sale 2 for $4.00 here but my ad and shelf tag say 2 for $8.00. That’s 4.00 each before coupons. How do you get that price?

    • Jenny

You are right, who knows where my brain pulled that price from. I’ll fix it, thanks for letting me know.

    • Julie

Kroger Eggnog is on sale for $2.99 – cellfire coupon for $1 off plus if you go to the Kroger website – to their printable coupons – they have coupons for a bunch of different Private Selection items you can print, including $1 off eggnog, making it $.99. A good price – It gets me in the holiday spirit.
