proflowers deal is awesome combined with offer I saw on tv.  one dozen colored roses 19.99 or for 9.99 more add another dozen, pink vase and spa trio( lotion, body wash, etc).  then use living social deal.  Got it delivered with tax and handling for 27.36 including the price of the living social deal!

      • cgmaynard

You can’t use another offer combined with the living social one. It cancels it out. Also it would not let me check out using the living social code unless I have more than $30 including shipping in my cart.

Still not too shabby, total $17.99 for 12 rainbow longstemmed roses including taxes & shipping for my Mom who lives 5 stats away.

    • cgmaynard

I ordered my voucher from living social yesterday. I tried to use it today and I keep getting the message they can’t process it. Maybe the site is just busy where it’s so close to MD.

    • carolyn

The Hallmark link says it’s been de-activated :-(

      • Jessafrog

Mine said that too, I had to click the “offer” link at the top of the page and then click the save 5 off 10 purchase on the right.

    • Theatlantablonde

Not sure the Living Social deal for Proflowers is that great? I went through Ebates’ site and the “All the Thrills” REGULAR-sized arrangement was $29.99 + 16% cash back = final price $25.20. Through Living Social link, same arrangement (and size) was $39.99. If you paid $15 for the $30 voucher, and you still have $10 to pay, then you paid $25 (same price), but have the extra hassle. :)

    • could someone please help me i am trying to get the free lowes card and need 10 more retweets or pins @chenaultann . if you leave a reply i will retweet you back thanks

      • Ginger

Hey, I see you’re still working on the Lowes card. When I was trying to get my husband all his retweets, I think I found the key to success. Just go to the Lowes page where you water the flowers, and tweet random people, but CHANGE the tweet that pops up. (First, copy the link that is YOUR flower, so you have that ready.) so when the tweet pops up, before you submit, delete a large portion of it. I deleted everything from “No Purchase Necessary” on. Then I  put “hit me back if you can, here:” followed by the link to my husband’s page. Then submit the tweet. He got his watered soooooo much faster than mine, it was crazy. Good luck!

I ordered from Harry and David.  They had a tower gift set for $29.95 with free standard shipping, and if you use coupon code MOM49, you get another 20% off of a $49 purchase.  I needed gifts for Grandma and Godmother, so I ordered two @ $29.95 = $59.90, minus the 20% is $47.92, plus tax.  No shipping charges, so I got each a gift, shipped to their door for about $24.

Walgreens has 30%good off canvas prints this week

    • Penrose33

As a mother, I’d like to throw something out there. Pictures aren’t gifts. Moms and grandmoms are real people who like real gifts as much as the people they are mom/grandmom to do. Do you want a framed pic of grandma for your birthday? No? Then don’t get me one of you. Just my two cents.

      • Tarac98

wow…i’m a mother and I LOVE to recieve pics of my kids…who wouldn’t like that?!?!

        • Penrose33

Aren’t you the one buying the pics and taking the kids to get them made? So that’s your gift too? My house is full of pics of my kids, but come a special day, I like a gift that took a little thought. I automatically give grandmas, aunts, and uncles copies of the pictures we take of my kids. I don’t use it as an excuse to cheat them out of a gift on a special occasion. Does your mom give you pictures of her on your special days?

          • Ginger

Again, wow. To CHEAT them out of a gift? That’s pretty strong language. It’s not like anyone is ever ENTITLED to a gift. You give someone a gift that you think they would like. If you think they would like pictures of your kids, then that’s a gift. I personally almost never give out pix of my kids to their aunts/uncles/friends of family, because I think they’re a nuisance. I don’t want a bunch of little wallet-sized photos of my nieces/nephews/friends kids, so I don’t send them to them either.  And if my mom would actually take herself and my dad to get photos taken, and send them to me, especially in some sort of frame, I would love that gift. Just MO.

          • Tarac98

No…PLEASE don’t pretend to know ANYTHING about my life and what I give or don’t give for gifts.  I simply said that I love to get pictures and I can’t imagine what mother wouldn’t!  Furthermore…you SHOULDN’T expect a gift!

        • Mommy2brynley

well said! I love pictues, and who said that mothers day was all about getting gifts?? spending time with my kids and mother is what i love about mothers day..

      • Jbpersson

So what are good mother’s day gift ideas? We never did a gift for my mom so I’m a bit perplexed with all the ads for stuff on tv. My mother in law loves stuff so probably would appreciate something but Christmas, her birthday (march) and now Mother’s day. Really, how much can one person actually need that she doesn’t go buy herself?

        • Ginger

I agree. My mom is at the point where she doesn’t need anything. I almost always end up getting her earring because she likes them and has lots, but sometimes that takes on a life of its own. I was at an estate sale a few months ago, and this lady’s mom had over 100 eggs- rock, glass, carved, etc. I asked if her mom collected them, and she said not really. Her mom bought a glass ginger-jar lamp that had eggs inside, and after that, everyone decided that she collected them, and voila, a collection was born. Personally, I love getting flowers, but my hubs never seems to remember that I don’t like red roses. At least once a year, I gently mention that I love pink/yellow/peack roses, and every year, I get red. At this point, I’d rather have live plants that I could put in my garden than some arrangement that doesn’t take my likes/dislikes into consideration. I think a live plant is always a nice gift for someone who likes plants…

I can understand – we only give my mother in law and my mom cards now.  If I was going to give them a gift it would be a gift card to a book store for my MIL and an Amazon gift card for my mom to use for the kindle .  They both love to read and there is always a new good book to read.

        • bee

I know what I want…a day all to myself: read, relax, skip dinner and cleaning. Maybe Dad can take the kids and give mom a day off! :)

      • Ginger

I gotta say, I think anything someone gives you is a gift. If you don’t think it’s a good gift, I guess that’s your thing, but I’m a mom, a daughter, and a DIL, and I think pictures are nice gifts.
