I’ve mentioned a few times that this week has some great CVS deals.  To help you see just how great they are, I thought I’d share exactly what I bought yesterday.  I spent $3.41 out of pocket and left with a $10 ExtraCare Buck to use next time.  That means I made money to buy diapers, toothpaste and shampoo!

With the scenarios below I had a number of great store coupons.  If you aren’t getting that many great coupons it really is time to get a NEW CVS card.  Don’t link it to your old card, just be a new customer.  I did this about 6 months ago and my new card and I very happy together.  Also make sure that you are signed up for the CVS Beauty Club and for CVS emails.

Heads Up: The CVS $3 off Huggies Little Movers coupon is back! You can print it here.

Got Back: $10 ECB

In the CVS comments, there have been two common questions lately. The first question is if you can use the $3 off CVS Huggies coupon with the $5 off $35 baby care purchase coupon. The answer is yes. I used both and the computer never beeped.  I actually didn’t realize it until I typed all this up that I was 55¢ away from having $35, but the coupon didn’t beep.  I’m curious if it doesn’t look for $35 in retail??

The other question is whether you need to reach the total you need to spend on ECB deals (when the items aren’t on sale) before or after the 25% off coupon. I used the 25% off coupon for the Colgate deal. I only needed to spend $10 before the coupon. My ECB still printed even though I spent less than $10 after the 25% off coupon.

What are the best deals you got at CVS lately?

Today I got a Schick Silk Hydro 5 razor and 18 rolls of Scott Extra Soft toilet paper for a total of about $5.50. I got a $1 ECB when an item didn’t ring up the right price recently, then another $3 by email (why, I do not know – got one last week, too). I had a $4 manufacturer’s coupon for the razor. I purchased the razor first, and got a $4 ECB for that purchase. I took the $4 ECB and bought the Scott toilet paper that was on sale for $6.99 for 18 rolls. Paid with the ECB and $3 and change cash. I rarely get the free deals at CVS, but a deal on toilet paper is something to right home about!

    • jgcoupons2013

I did the baby deal as well! I did not get the $5 off $25 coupon everyone else was getting, but still managed to save $38.00 and got $10 ECB! I also bought 3 large bottles of Listerine and used (3) $2 off coupons and a $5 off $15 coupon I got from the machine. I ended up paying $12.97 before tax and got $10 ECB back! Not bad considering we needed Listerine!

    • Tracy

I dont have all the great coupons like you used but I went to CVS today and got $48.28 worth of merchandise for $9.48 out of pocket which includes tax plus a $3 ECB to use whenever! I got the (2) got2B spiking glue, a bottle of pantene shampoo and conditioner, (2) toothbrushes, Nivea body wash, Nivea lotion, (2) packs of gum, (4) edge shave gels. Without the tax it was $7.11 with a $3 ECB so really it was like getting it all for $4.11 or 29 cent each!!!

    • Amie

I guess I need a new card because mine isn’t giving me anything good lately. I actually called and after over 20 minutes, I was told coupons are based on spending habits. I buy so much there that I questioned this, but got nowhere.

    • Manuela

This is an awesome trip! I picked up a new card yesterday I had my “old” CVS card since 2011 and I barely got any coupons from the coupon machine as well as online coupons they only send me online shopping 20% off etc. But that doesn’t help me since I don’t order my ECB’s.. :)

    • Mari

My CVS is now not allowing us to stack a CVS coupon with a manufacturer coupon, despite what their policy states. The manager said corporate is cracking down on coupon use and refused to allow me to combine the cvs q and the manu. q for the colgate. Does anyone know if this is at all CVS’s or just at that one? I was so bummed!

      • pdnr

I would call corporate and ask them about it.

      • Mari

I’d print the CVS Coupon Policy. I keep it in my purse. This might help. But remember that it is up to the manager on duty that determines if it will be accepted or not.

      • I’m headed up to corporate tomorrow, so I’ll see what may be changing coupon wise. They should be taking them though, so call and lodge a complaint for now with corporate.

      • Joanna

I’m not sure if the coupon policy is changing or anything but at my local store “the only cvs with in 50 miles of me” has a store manager that is very rude and unfriendly. My first time in the store he was rude so I didn’t shop there for like 5 months. I just started going in there again because of the all the coupon deals and I found a young night manage who is so sweet and helps me find anything in the store I need and even helps with my coupons. So you might want to try shopping when that manager is not there. I hope this helps :)

      • Never_Speechless

Don’t just call corporate. Call them while your standing in line at the register. Let them know you wont tolerate this disregard for the coupon policy that is set by CVS corporate. Trust me it works and they will never give you a hard time again. Certain stores cannot set their own rules.

    • Tee

      I got about 34 dollars worth of stuff for $0.93. (3) Colgate Optic White 360 Toothbrush, $2.99; (2) scott tissue-6.99; (2) scott papertowels -5.49.
      I used (2) $1 off Colgate 360 manual toothbrush
      (2) $1 off colgate toothbrush (cvs coupon)
      (2) $1 off scott paper towels
      (2) $1 off scott tissue
$4 off 3 toothbrush, mouthwash, toothpaste (cvs coupon )
      $5 off $15 purchase ( coupon machine)
I already had $16 ECB from last week deals so I only paid $.093 plus I got back $4 ECB from the toothbrushes.

    • Meggan

I have a question I am trying to learn to coupon, do you know have to wait a certain period before you can use your ECB? And under the diaper transaction why is it broken down to multiple ECB that you used? HELPP!

      • You don’t have to wait to use them. I just tell the cashier that I want to do multiple transactions. I listed all the coupons separately only because they print off individually and I wanted folks to know that you really can use them all on the same transaction.

    • KatRand

I tried to get the CVS diaper coupon to print, but it is still telling me the print limit has been reached. Did it reset for anyone else?

      • Kimberley Sick

        not me

    • Sarah Lynne

Just yesterday they sent me a three dollar off coupon for my next purchase.. So tomorrow I am going to buy milk with it, pay the 80 cents or whatever, and get a one dollar ECB back.. I love this place!

      • Chris

save your receipt! I did this exact thing today and Ibotta loaded a deal for .75 back! So I got $1 ECB back and will get .75 from Ibotta.

    • Annette Kanupp

I loaded my CVS $3 ECB yesterday. When I went to CVS today, print at the coupon center. I asked the cashier about it, she said it would take it off when I checked out. Proceeded to get the Got2BGled deal ECB, again disappointed. She said it was not on the “trial” size of 1.25 oz.And it still didn’t take my $3 ECB …she said it wasn’t loaded.

      • KatRand

I have had that happen twice, so I always print mine at home instead of loading it to my card. :/

      • Johanna Denton

That happened to me twice and I called CVS and the lady told me they’ve been having some trouble with the ‘sending to card’ option. She issued another $3 ECB for me without any problem.

    • Robin

I can’t find the CVS Huggies $ coupon. It does not show at all on the list of coupons, and when I select “baby products” only the Diaper Genie coupon shows. Are they already gone??

      • Claudia Cruz

yeah they are all gone, i also needed to print some but I could not get them fast enough! :(

        • Alisa

The link had not reset for me. I had to use my kids computer print two of the CVS Huggies coupons. So it appears it is still available, if you have not printed before or if you have access to another computer.

    • Lulud

I am getting messages saying my print limit is reached for coupons I have not even printed. When I go to my southern savers account to pull up deals from different grocery stores such as today’s cvs deals the coupon for the Sensodyne toothpaste shows I have already printed my limit when I haven’t. What can I do to fix this?

    • Blake

I got my 3 ECB in the mail but where did the 10 ECB and the other 3 ECB in Transaction #1 come from? Were they rolled over from a previous deal or something? If so, that would mean that someone doing this deal without those ECB to use would have $13 more due for transaction 1, right? That is still a great deal considering the total spent is $15.92 and you will get 17 ECB back. Anyway just wanted to make sure that i wasnt missing something for the other 13 ECB.

      • Georgia

You are right. Technically your out of pocket for both transactions would be $9.41. I usually don’t count what I have from a previous purchase. Only count what you are going to get back from buying those products to see what you will end up paying for those products and to determine whether what you are buying is a good deal or not.

        • Georgia

Sorry, that should be $19.41 out of pocket.

    • Candice

did anyone not get the $3 ECB email from CVS? I’ve had a card for years but just recently (about 3 weeks ago) signed up online. And they didn’t send me one!

      • Tammie

Yes, you can do it. Go ahead and have your items in your cart, put the ones you want to pay for first, on the counter and tell the cashier you are doing separate transactions. You can then use the ECB to apply towards the next purchase.

    • Jenn

I’m a little bummed-deal was not as good as I hoped it would be. I went to CVS to get baby deal. They did not have the slip on diapers but I went ahead and got the little remedies BOGO 50% off & was able to use the $2 off $6 cough and cold coupon. Plus I found puffs tissues for $.99 with a note on outside that said $1 coupon inside. I had 3 $1/2 puffs so I got 6. Also had 2 $1 off little remedies and a $3 ECB from email. Spent $7 which is about the regular price as one of the little remedies I got. My plan had been to do the second transaction with 2 packs of diapers and 2 pkg. teething tablets (reg. price + 2 $1 off coupons) to use a 25% off coupon and a $5 off $25. I went to another CVS the next day. Well, I realized my 2 packs of diapers only added up to $18.98 and I needed $19.57 for the deal. So I looked around and settled on some baby powder for $2.99 (even though I don’t use it much and wished I’d had a coupon). Then my 25% off coupon was expired :( If I’d thought of it before I left I would have only gotten 1 pkg of teething tablets) plus the teething tablets were almost $1 more at this CVS and they also didn’t have the slip on diapers. But the diaper coupons went thru anyway. So I spent $24. Total value: $69.75 total spent: $31.42 + $10 ECB back so like getting it $21.42. So, I guess that was pretty good after all-saved about 69%. Just know it could have been better!

    • Drmars123

I seem to never get the coupons that everyone else gets. How do I get a new cvs card? When I put my info in wont they know I already have one? Can I use my old one till the new one gets here?

    • Heather M.

I got (4) Edge shave gel, (2) Speed Stick deodorant, (6) Renuzit fresheners, (2) Colgate Optic White toothbrushes, and (1) Secret Clinical Strength deodorant for $1.41 OOP plus earned $10 ECB and a $5/$15 next purchase coupon.

    • JT

I got a $10 off $50 at the coupon box that expires 10/9/13. Any suggestions on how to use that. The most I spend at one time is about $30 before coupons and ECB.

      • Tammie

If doing this week: do Cokes & Gold Emblem (get 10 ECB for 30.00 purchase), Colgate Total mouthwash/toothpaste deal (CVS coupons and manuf; plus get 5.00 ECB); either the Fructis shampoo (printables) or Pantene/Head & Shoulders (get 3 ECB).If you don’t buy Cokes then look at the Nivea, St. Ives, etc.

    • Jocy Deason

Does anyone else have the problem that the G2B Glued Hair Gel was higher than “got2b Spiking Glue, 1.25 oz, $2.57” what was mentioned above… I went to try this in three different CVS stores in my area and all were 6$ or more. ..

      • jessica

yes, the got2b Spiking Glue, 1.25 oz, $2.57 was not included in the promotion to the the $5ECB at my store. You had to buy the larger, much more expensive ones to the the ECB.

        • Tracey G

Sometimes the tags aren’t in front of the products that will work. I did this deal last week, so it was included in my area. I’m only mentioning it now because I’ve seen this occur on other occasions as well (not being marked clearly), in fact there are a few things like that this week. Very confusing sometimes :-(

      • Tracy

CVS only places tags in front of the more expensive items but the little got2b spiking glue were included in the deal , just did not have a tag in front of them. I bought the two little ones and got my $5ECB. Also, the other day I went in to get some hair dye and the ECB tags were in front of colors that I dont use so I took the one I wanted up front and had them scan it and it was on sale and included in the deal.

When you get a new card make sure you update your savings star account with the new number. I had to do that recently with a Bilo card and missed a deal. I ‘m thinking about getting a new CVS card since I am one of those who buys everything and no longer gets any of the good coupons. I got the renuzit coupon this week and they ran out on Sunday. (clerk said none of the stores got extra inventory and they all were out) Also got .50 of snickers which I never buy. If they base what coupons you get on what you buy, they must mean if you have a history of buying it you don’t get coupons. I have not receive a single coupon in my email all year and never get more than 2 coupons at the machine(and yes I print twice). I think I saved too much last year.

I don’t understand what you mean by be a new customer. You have to give them your email and address to get a new card. How would you know if your “new” card was linked to your “old card”?

      • Claudia Cruz

they never link the cards. I have 2 cards and neither card is linked to the other.

        • Andrea

Do u use 2 different email addresses for your 2 cards?

          • Claudia Cruz

yes i do, one that is mine the other my husbands

    • CC

I have a quick question about signing up for a new CVS card without linking it to your old card. I have $25 in ECB right now. Would I have to use them all before I started using my new card? I never receive any of the e-mails for CVS coupons or 25% off anymore even though I have requested them. So I would love to get them again but the ECB I have left over from the week before are usually how I get the best deals. Thanks in advance.

      • Erika

Yes, you would have to use them up and start new. The ecbs you have now are specific to that card.

    • Lilly

Have you gone to CVS headquarters yet? It would be great if they could link your ECB’s to your card! I lost the receipt which has $10 ECB’s and there seems to be no way to reissue. Just “send them to the card” like you can most coupons, etc…

    • Savannah Andresen

Ugh. Just want to vent alittle about rude employees who are coupon intolerant. If you don’t have patience why are you working the cash register? Got so frustrated today that I forgot to use my $5 off $35 Baby Stuff coupon. Id like to think im not a crazy couponer, I let people go in front of me if they have a few items since coupons take alittle longer and I abide by the coupon rules. Just irks me that people are so rude about coupons sometimes for whatever reason.

    • Andrea

Question about getting a new card…can I use the same email address as my old card without getting the two linked? Or do I need a new email address to start a new account?

    • Leah

Regarding the $5 off $35 on baby care coupon working when you didn’t quite reach the total- I have been told by multiple employees at my store that those CVS coupons will work within a certain percentage of the total it states you have to reach. It may have worked for the other reasons you mentioned, but this is what I have been told.
