Okay, I messed up last time by using ALL max perks to buy the “free with max perks” deals, so I ended up losing all the free max perks. But, from what I’m reading, if I use even a few cents of actual money to go OVER the amount of max perks I have, then I will get back all the max perks? Is this right? I’m sorry to sound so confusing, but I’m really confused here.

      • sharong

You shouldn’t have lost any of your free max perks rewards by paying with max perks rewards.  I do this all of the time and I always receive my max perks rewards on the items, even if paying with max perks rewards.  But your purchase will not qualify towards the $25 max perks for every $500.  Or if you have a teacher card (like I do), the purchase will not qualify towards the $10 max perks for every $75.

Oh! Sharong, maybe this is where my confusion comes. Maybe my purchase just doesn’t count towards the 25$ for every 500. But then, shouldn’t the new max perks rewards be showing up somewhere?. I started with about $147 in rewards, bought 4 markers and 1 ream of paper for about $106 after tax, and I have about $41 left. I went looking for the perks I should be getting back, which I think should be about $87, and it said nothing qualified. But maybe that meant nothing qualifies for the 25$ for every 500$. So, can you tell me how I can find out for sure if I AM getting back the other perks? Sorry for being so confusing, and thanks for your responses. :)

It usually takes 2-4 days after your order is posted in Maxperks to see the bonus reward posted as a separate line item.  If it’s not posted soon, call the maxperks number (not the regular office max number).  They’re very helpful.

Thank you! I don’t know if they just showed up sometime today, or if I missed them earlier, but now they show up at the VERY BOTTOM of my rewards page. They show a postdate of yesterday with transaction date of 11/22, and I did get all the bonus rewards I was supposed to. WHEWW And thanks, all!

            • sharong

              Glad you found the rewards!

I just checked my account and I also did not get my max perk rewards because I paid totally with max perk rewards. I have always received them when I paid a little with my credit card. I did not have that option because my rewards amount was higher than the new order.

Janice, I just found miine, and they ARE there. I don’t know if they just showed up today, or if they were there and I missed them. Look all the way at the bottom of your “my rewards” page, under where it says “detailed transactions.”

You should be able to just keep rolling your max perks rewards to pay for other items that earn max perks rewards.  This is what I do….until I need to buy toner or paper, that is usually not “free” after max perks rewards.  But the toner and the paper does qualify towards my teacher rewards of $10 for every $75.  I’m not sure if I am explaining this well enough, but I hope I am.  I have been playing the Office Max game for a couple of years now…and I LOVE Office Max!!!
