Can someone tell me what the MaxRewards is? Does that means you get money back that you can use only at Office Max or is it just money you can use anywhere?

      • Jenny

It is money back that can only be spent at Office Max.

        • Victoria

          Do they expire?

          • Lyn

Here is what it states online:

            Do MaxPerks Reward Cards expire?
Yes. Reward Cards expire 90 days from date of issuance, except in Florida where they expire one (1) year from date of issuance. The expiration date is printed on the front of every Reward Card issued and is also displayed in your MaxPerks account. Rewards cannot be reissued if they have expired.

        • Karen

Can the cash reward be spent online? We don’t have an Office Max in our city anymore….

          Thanks!

          • Lyn

Here is what it says online:

Are there any limitations as to what items can be purchased using my Reward Card(s)?

Reward Card(s) can be redeemed for almost everything OfficeMax sells in stores, by phone and online, except OfficeMax brand gift cards. Cards cannot and may not be applied as payment to any credit account.

        • Karen

Just found this on the website. It doesn’t clarify if you can use the reward card for online purchases.

Bonus Rewards are available only for items marked with the MaxPerks® Bonus Reward icon. All Bonus Reward offers are available from October 18, 2009 thru October 24, 2009. For Bonus Reward offers on Sharpie® Pens, OfficeMax® Multi-Purpose Paper, Fellowes Bankers Box® Storage Boxes and [IN]Place™ Recycled, Letter-Sized, 1/3 Cut Manila File Folders, limit of 3 per MaxPerks Member for each Bonus Reward offer. Items and related Bonus Rewards are available while supplies last. Member’s MaxPerks ID card must be presented at time of purchase; no Bonus Reward adjustments will be made after purchase. All Bonus Reward offers valid in-store and/or online, unless otherwise indicated. For a percentage-based Bonus Reward, percentage of Bonus Rewards issued is based upon price actually paid by Member, as advertised price can be reduced by any applicable coupon or discount. Bonus Rewards will be issued in the next statement cycle. Bonus Rewards for these offers, along with any other Bonus Rewards a Member may have earned during the same period, will be issued in the form of a reward card redeemable toward future purchases. Reward card expires 90 days from date of issuance except for reward cards for FL Members, which expire 1 year from date of issuance.

Prices applicable for Continental U.S. Prices may vary in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Prices valid through 10/24/09.

          * Qualifying merchandise is any product and/or service in our stores, online or in our catalogs, except computers, OfficeMax brand gift cards, purchases made with a Retail Connect? card, purchases made prior to the date of enrollment in the MaxPerks program, and purchases made with your MaxPerks Reward card.

    • Julie

How awesome! Thank you!! These are the exact items I’ve been waiting for! Paper for printing coupons and banker box with manilla folders for storing coupon inserts. Now it’s all free! :)

    • Nina

      Wow!

    • Amy

When I last went to Kroger, I received a $10 off $50 purchase at Office Max. If I use this, will the rewards still print? I can’t use it online.

      • Amy

Also, will you get 3 $17 rewards if you buy 3 reams?

    • Nina

Okay…thanks Jenny for posting this! I just ordered my paper and was wondering if Office Max does this often? and if they do, can we “roll” our rewards into new rewards?

And for anyone who is going to enroll in the program for the first time, I would pick the “teacher/classroom” card over the “business” card. I made the mistake of ordering the business card and probably will never reach the $500 spending threshold to get the free $25.00 credit whereas I might of reached the $75.00 spending threshold on the other card.

      • Bobbie

Wish I had known also. Guess you can’t reregister?

        • KT

I also want to know if it will ‘rollover’. Im trying to figure all this stuff out…. :-)

    • LH

They also have Sharpie Pens 2 pack for $1.99 with $2 back in Max Perks. These also have a limit of 3. I was so happy to see these on sale. My son has been begging for these. It made his afternoon! Max Perks are normally good for 90 days and they post to your account at the end of the month. So, it’s now as “friendly” as ECB or RR, but it’s still money to use. I’m working towards a new digital camera.

      • Can you tell me the number for the Sharpies?

        • Suzanne

The online weekly ad says the Sharpies are only available in-store :(

          • Valerie

I just want to clarify…we get our rewards back at the end of the month and it isn’t like Staples ….where it is at the end of their quarter and when they decide to send it to you? Do they send it via email or you just keep track?

            Thank you!

        • In my area the pens are only for in store purchases BUMMER!

      • LH

They will send you an email letting you know when your Max Perks are available. You can print your Perks directly from your online account (no mail time). Here’s what the website says regarding posting the Perks to your account.

When do I receive any rewards that I have earned?

At the end of each month, we review all accounts and electronically issue any rewards you may have earned into your secure, online account. This reward will be issued by the 20th of the following month.

        Hope this help!

    • how soon do rewards expire?
I wonder if office depot will accept this rewards?

    • mama2kangaandroo

Thank you! This is perfect timing, as we need paper!

    • Jennifer

I am not a teacher nor a business owner. Is there a reward program I can sign up for?

      • Aaron

The associate at my store signed me up under the business and said it was okay if it was for personal use.

      • Debbie

Do you have children in school? do you do homework with them? then you are a teacher!!!
        :)

        • Elaine

Is that okay? the enrollment form says it is an OfficeMax® customer reward program for teachers. During registration, it also requires school’s name.

    • Aaron

If you use promo code THANKYOU and spend $75+ you also get a free overnight bag. It is only good through tomorrow 10/20.

    • Leah

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • Cathy

      They ran out :(

    • Deb

      Hi All —

Thanks for the great heads up Jenny. I’m a partner of a small company and we are always looking for deals to help our bottom line (note I’m also incharge of ordering supplies so this is doubly cool!).

Unfortunately I could only get one thing of paper (website said it was a limited supply so I could only have one)– but I was able to get 2 bankers boxes and 3 file folders… can’t beat free and free delivery too!!

      Thanks again!!

      Deb

    • Deanna

It is saying the paper is not longer available :(

    • Deanna

Office Max online is saying that the paper deal is no longer available, is anyone else having this problem?

    • Allison

Well, I tried to order paper (I live in SC) and was told they were all out. Apparently, once your distributer is out, that is it. My shipping warehouse is Atlanta. So, anyone else in that region will not be able to order paper either. I even called to voice my opinion that that was an unfair policy since it is being advertised on their website, which is national in scope. :(

    • Steve

Just got back from Office Max in Loganville, Ga. I got the 3 cases of paper, 3 packs of Sharpie Pen’s, used a $15 off $50 purchase and netted out $44.46 after tax plus I get $62.94 in rewards. That’s better than FREE!

      • Christy

My office max told me I had to order this deal online, that it is not available in my store..anyone else gone to the store and gotten the deal?

        • Allison

After not being able to order online (see above comment), I went to the local store. I was able to buy everything for the on-line price. The employee said that they price match competitors and their own on-line price. I would check with management or call customer service about that.

    • Alas! The deal for the printer paper has been discontinued, per the Office Max website. But I was still able to order Bankers Boxes and Manila File Folders for a total of $1.27 (when figuring taxes, free shipping, and Cashbaq bonus). Not bad…

    • MONIQUE PARFAITE

Missed out on the paper. Said discontinued when i ordered.

    • Christy

The online customer service told me they had to match the deal in the store but the store manager said, no they don’t.

      • Christy

The manager told me that once they hit the overide button, to match the internet price, it would cancel out my $17 in perk cash. They will match the price but I would not get the rewards. I’d keep a close eye on my rewards to make sure you get them Allison. My store has the paper @ $25 per box. I have a 20% off coupon I can use in-store only, so it ends up only costing me $9.98 more, than if I ordered it online. Its still a good deal, going first thing in the morning to get my paper, I ordered everything else online.

    • mama

I also got $15 coupon on Sunday’s ad. Did anyone get that.

    • ginger

can someone tell me if i order this time online if i will be able to spend the rewards in the store?

      • Sue

Yes. According to their website, you can use the rewards online or in store.

    • Amber

I’m interested in this too. I wanted to let our teachers know about it, but I’m going to try it out myself first. I’m a little confused.

On the front page of the MaxPerks website it says:

“As a member, you’ll earn a $10 reward in your MaxPerks account for every $75 you spend on qualified* purchases – up to $100 per calendar year.”

Does this mean in ADDITION to the MaxPerks rewards you will earn when you buy the qualifying products? I’m assuming yes since it advertises you will earn $17 bonus rewards on the paper, etc. but I want to be sure. I think I’m going to call them, unless anyone here has done it before!

      Thanks for posting this!

    • Amber

I called them because I started reading more into it. Yes, you can get the free stuff, but you will only get your rewards back from buying the items at the end of every QUARTER (this is for a teacher account). So 4 times a year. A little less sweet, I guess, but still good if you want get free stuff every quarter.

    • Sue

Ordered paper, banker’s boxes, and folders Sunday night. Received paper and folders today. Hopefully the boxes will come soon. So far my online account says that I have not earned any MaxPerks; but then it also says that my order is “pending”. So I guess they’re a little behind. I’m a little dissappointed that MaxPerks are only awarded every quarter instead of monthly, but I guess it gives us somethinng to look forward to in the new year.

    • Jennifer

I also got my paper and folders today (athens, ga area) and I was thrilled. I thought my whole order would be cancelled. If I don’t get the boxes – that’s ok. My online order status doesn’t even say any of it has shipped – so they are a little behind on that.

    • AmyT

Does anyone know if this deal is still going on? I couldn’t find these items for those prices online today. Did I miss it?
      Thanks!

    • lynn

Has anyone received their Bonus Max Perks Yet? Or your MaxPerks card in the mail? Online, my account shows no activity no, no records. I haven’t received any emails or snail mail about anything. I’ve tried several times to contact OfficeMax, via email about this, but no response.

      • lynn

I finally just called their 800 #. They did not show my order on my Max Perks account, even though my order printout shows that it was entered correctly. So, they have to send it over to the Max Perks department to be entered manually. I hope that they get it fixed without much more hassle. That was the only reason I ordered those items, for the bonus Perks. I don’t know if my order was just a fluke mixup, but I would recommend that everyone check to see if they are getting their Max Perks.

    • Mary

I just sent an email to them through their website concerning my Max Perks rewards. I’ve yet to hear anything about them. I hope it’s not a big hassle.

    • Mary

I just called the customer service # and they told me to give it a full 30 days to show up on my MaxPerks account. You can check yours at OfficeMaxPerks.com. I hope they were right! I have a couple more weeks to wait.

      • Bonnie

I just spoke with customer service and was told that the reward $ will be available for spending November 20th. My order came on two separate days and the rewards are listed separately. A super nice lady in customer service explained that if I choose to spend both rewards at the same time that I will have to call them to put it thru for me and they will be happy to help. She took my cell number to call me back tomorrow to verify that they stock ink for my printer. https://www.officemaxperks.com/MyRewards.aspx

    • Cassia

I’m also still waiting for the rewards to appear. I had problems online so I called customer service about it and was told I could do the same thing over the phone with them instead. I figured all was well until I checked my Perks account a week and a half ago to see when the rewards would be available and found it shows the order (in three pieces) but no rewards.

I called customer service immediately to point that out and was told that the person who helped me with the first order had messed up (apparently she was supposed to input the rewards manually when done over the phone), then was told that the current CS representative was submitting a form about it to MaxPerks to get the rewards attributed correctly. She said they would send an email within 48 hours. I waited a little over that (since it was a weekend), then emailed MaxPerks directly myself. Again, the form says to expect a response in 48 hours. Nothing.

And I just realized that their return policy says 30 days and it’s now past that (wasn’t when I called CS, though). :( If OfficeMax doesn’t fix this, we both lose – I will have paid a lot more for these things than I would have elsewhere and they will have lost customer.

      • Cassia

Update – I just got an email that they had manually input the rewards for me and would be available in the next reward cycle. Yay!
