How does the MaxPerks Bonus Rewards work?

      • Amanda

You sign up for a MaxPerks Account from thier website (you may be able to sign up in store) and you get a MaxPerks card & number. You use the number online & card instore (like a bilo bonus card, etc) and every quarter it issues the MaxPerks reward certificate via email (or you can sign in to your account and print it). You can sign in anytime and keep track of how many reward dollars you have, etc. The rewards must be used to purchase items from Office Max and there is time limit (depending on your state the expiration varies from like 3 months to a year)

    • karencoupons

Can you help me understand how the Max Rewards work. I purchased the binders this past week, but did not see any information on my receipt that shows that they will be free after the max reward. Also – how do you identify the items that are on Max Rewards?
      Thanks!

      • Amanda

You need to have a MaxPerks card (account) and they issue the reward certificate every quarter to your email account. The certificate is basically store credit and does have an expiration date (which varies by state).

        • karencoupons

I am still confused. I did get a MaxPerks card and it is now activated and I viewed it online. I can't see any pending perks for the durable binders nor could I see where the durable binders would be free after max perks on the ad. I bought them based on Jenny's post taht they were free with maxperks this week. I am not sure if her listing is regional or if maybe I bought the wrong thing. Thanks for your help!!

    • 3monkeysmom

Are these regional deals? When I pull up next weeks ad, it has the backpacks, everything in the “other deals” but only the erasers and the rulers in the “cheap deals.” I'm in B'ham…do you we get the shaft on this like we do Rite-Aid????

      • 3monkeysmom

Actually it looks like some of those are this week's deals (for Bham)…the filler paper, officemax pencils, wooden rulers, Papermate pens, poly binders. I'm really confused now :-)

    • Ldab70

FYI – In the small print, it says that the Max Rewards for the backpacks “will be available in a member's account in September” and also that the reward will expire after a time.

    • Goff18

MaxPerks rewards are not a rebate on the backpacks. You get the money back in the form of a gift card that can only be used at Office Max.

    • Suemh

I had 190.00 in MaxPerks that had built up, mainly because Office Max did not give me proper credit for some of the special purchases last fall. They were expiring on July 31. I just used them to order an HP Mini Laptop. I only had to pay $60 plus tax.

    • Suzy

Does anyone know if you can roll the rewards? I still have in $50 in maxperks rewards from a deal a few months ago and I need to use them by the end of July. If I get a backpack, can I pay for it with the maxperks rewards and still get them back?

      • Suemh

When I called OfficeMax about this, they said no. However, in the comments section of a recent OfficeMax post, someone said that as long as you order a little more than your rewards are, like order $53 dollars when you have $52 in rewards, you will get the MaxPerks. I have not done this myself.

        • Sandra

Wow, that could be a really big savings possibility…tempting…I might try it with a box of sharpies or something…

      • Melissabw

i have been able to roll mine and i've done this twice now – you don't get credit toward your $75, but you get all the bonus rewards back so it usually makes everything just about free!

        • Iampresley

What do you mean about not getting credit toward our $75? I do understand I'll get the rewards.

          Thanks!

The backpack deal is great – even if you don't have kids, this is a super easy way to buy for local charities that are collecting school supplies then use the Max Perk rewards for stuff you need later anyway. Wonderful!

    • Christy

Is the Office max perk rewards program just for businesses and teachers?

    • I dont see the 30 cent binders in the ad. Is it just a store clearance or not shown in the ad? The only binders I see in the ad are b2g1. Thank you!

    • Csgarcia4

My office max in wilmington did not have,# 12? Wooden Ruler w/ Metal Edge, 5¢ (limit 6)
      # Paper Mate Black or Blue Ballpoint Pens, 10 pk., 10¢ (limit 3)
      # OfficeMax #2 Pencils, 12 pk., 10¢ (limit 3)
      # OfficeMax Filler Paper, 100 ct., 20¢ (limit 6)
      # All Schoolio Poly Binders, 1? or 1.5?, 30¢ (limit 6)
      # Schoolio Flexible or Shatterproof Rulers,12?, 50¢
      # Just Basic Assorted Cap Erasers, 25 ct., 50¢
They didnt know what i was talking about… :(

    • Marycatherine

my office max did not have any of the “cheap deals” that I checked for. Wooden rulers: nope. 10-pack pens: nope. The others weren't labeled as marked down either so I stopped bothering the clerk for price checks & abandoned my mission.

    • Mamato6chicks

This week for us there are 5 cent crayons, 25 cent markers and 1 cent folders. Check your local ad b/c I have noticed that they can vary by zip code.
I picked up 2 backpacks today & the lady there told me I will get the $ back in Max Perks. It works like a gift card she said. My plan is to buy the toner for my printer there. It's $ I would be spending anyway. In my eyes it's like buying toner & getting a backpack for free! They have Jansport backpacks and they come with a guarantee similar to L.L. Bean's.
P.S. I priced the toner and hubby said it's $5 LESS than Staples. Another savings!

    • momof3

Hey, all…I see others had this problem as well…No cheap deals in Charlotte, NC, either…BUMMER!

    • Vikie504

I have had the same problem with Office Max in Charlotte the past 2 weeks. Yesterday, I went shortly after they opened and they didn't have the pens, sharpies and none of the binders, paper or notebooks were marked as “Free after max perks” as they were advertised in the ad.
I did buy 2 backpacks to donate–probably paid way too much at $39 each, but I figure I'll get it all back in Max Perks…could have just gotten the $9 backpacks from Wal-Mart though.
