Operation Christmas Child

Here’s another fun DIY gift for packing in your Operation Christmas Child boxes. It’s a pencil streamer wand, that’s super easy and quick to make.  I love that it’s two gifts in one, practical and fun.

Plus, this takes up hardly any room in the box so you have plenty of room for other items.

Here’s how to make it…

Pencil Streamer Wand

Materials:
-Pencil
-Ribbon
-Scissors
-Drill
-Eye screw

How to:
-Pull off eraser and metal top from pencil

-Carefully drill a small hole directly in the center of the top of the pencil, about 1/4 of an inch into the pencil (this prevents it from splitting)

-Screw in the eye screw

-Cut ribbon however long you would like it and fold each piece in half
-Pull ribbon through the eye screw to make a loop

-pull ribbon through the loop to make a knot

-pull tightly to secure the knot

You can then include a pencil sharpener into the box so that this gift can used as a pencil or a streamer wand.
