Looking for a great way to support the military and their families? Operation Homefront is partnering with Dollar Tree to launch the 2014 Back-to-School Brigade!

This is where school supplies and backpacks are donated to military children of Deployed, Wounded, and Active Duty Service Members. If you would like to donate supplies, you can purchase supplies at a Dollar Tree store and place your items in a collection box located in each store.

If you prefer to give a monetary donation, you can learn more here. Check out the current deals on the Dollar Tree list!

If you would like to receive school supplies or backpacks, they are available on a first come, first serve basis and registration is required.   Head over here to find the closest Operation Homefront chapter near you. Note that not all locations have started the registration process so check back often if yours has not.

Note:  You can really grab items at any store and take them to your Dollar Tree to donate.  There are also lots of other places around town collecting items too!  Please consider grabbing at least the 1¢ and 10¢ items!!

From you list for Dollar Tree, I don’t see school supplies. Do they currently have deals on those items?

why is it important that i or anybody donate to the military especially when I dont have a job and I manage to get the basic needs for my kids including school supplies- and by the way school supplies list are getting crazy and its like a must give list for the ones who give and others escape away without giving anything to the class.
rant- so far in all the classes we have gotten the whatever leftover used school supplies back. this year the teacher gave all the leftovers except for the one item-scissors that could really be used as an item for their next school year. what is she going to do with that ?- she will get a new supply from the new kids. Is she going to donate those on her behalf- cheap of her. It does not cost much I know-may be free if i find some deals. But I would have really wanted it back. She has already discriminated against me all the school year- single mother non-american. The principal said nothing when I talked to her about it.
