I hate piggly wiggly they are very coupon unfriendly!!! Prices are way too high!

      • becky.e

I feel the same way; however, I have shopped to use only the coupons the last few months. I have gotten a free carpet steam cleaner and over $60 in free groceries. This week, I am planning on spending around $20 in two transactions to get a $25 gift card to give as a gift. You may find that there are a few deals worth exploring.

        • liz_in_SC

Beck.e, would you please explain how you are getting the gift cards. I've only been able to redeem my GBX in store for the PW free advertised items, or on GBX days for max $15 per visit. Of course I'm not complaining….I haven't paid cash for any gasoline since January, but these GBX are piling up. I've accumulated over 450 GBX and it would be nice to “spend” them. I keep wondering if the GBX program will go out of business and leave me holding. Where and how do you cash them for gift cards?

          • becky.e

Congratulations! That is a lot of gbx. Depending on where you live in SC, you could score a great deal. We have an Tanger Outlet mall in Charleston. For 17 gbx, you can get a $25 gift card; 34 gbx gets a $50 card. Also, you can go thepig.net and click on the gbx link. There are partners and a store. Hope this helps.

            • liz_in_SC

Thank You!, Thank You!, Thank You!,
I feel a road trip coming very soon! Holy rockin' rollin' Pig deals! I'm completely amazed & thrilled with the free gas, and free (or cheap) GBX Pig promoted food and household specials. And now with this twist of events, I'll just go Hog Wild!! I was aware of the GBX Center and “gifts” available there, though it seems to be a lesser value option, it's probably due a second look!

I'll post some matchups and deals once I get it organized.

            • becky.e

Sorry for so many posts. They were being moderated, and I didn't want to delay you. With some of the new coupons out, there are some good deals.

Thank you for your list. I was just curious, how are you going to get the 25.00 gift card?

            • becky.e

I have a Tanger Outlet Mall near me. They take gbx for giftcards. Tonight we had dinner at a local restaurant that participates in the gbx program. Dinner for 5 cost only $10 which was for the tip!

          • becky.e

Congrats! That is a lot of gbx!! Tanger Outlet malls throughout SC have $25 giftcards for 17 gbx. Also on thepig.net you can use a link to the gbx website and shop for all kinds of things from drinking glasses to golf equipment. Hope this helps. Have fun spending!!

          • becky.e

Good for you! That could make for a lot of fun! Tanger outlet mall accepts gbx for purchase of giftcards. Also, don't forget to check out the greenbax store–lots of fun things. Have fun!

            • becky.e

The bottom of my receipt today says that they are extending the deal through 5/25. Consider posting your deals for others to piggyback on. (Pardon the pun)

          • Steven

Over the past 2 month’s I have accumulated over 2500 GBX. The thing we use it on most is gas. I have not paid for gas in these two months and have gone to FL, Upstate SC Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and so on. While we were in Charleston we used out GBX to go to the aquarium. In Columbia we have bought dog food, gone out to eat @ Gilligan’s (its not that good in my opinion) If you want to know what you use your GBX on go to thepig.net

    • 2Cor12_9

Thanks for listing…these will be great competitor Qs!! Thanks for all you do…my fam saves 80% b/c of you! God bless you <><

    • CarolinaGirl80

These are not store coupons. They are manufacturer coupons in their sales ad. They can be used anywhere!! There are 3 others ones in there but they are valid at Piggly Wiggly only, those are not listed.

    • Amos

I'm in Savannah…about as far EAST in GA as you can get, and I got these coupons in my ad too. I also got:

.50 on Dixie Crystals Sugar – PW coupon (can use at my Publix)
$1. on 2 Bryan hot dogs – MQ
$1. on Fast Fixin or Fast Classics – MQ

    • Beth

Would these be available in store? I never get any sort of mailer from them even though there's one within reasonable driving distance.

      • Jo

You can also access the flyer online

    • orchidway

Good Morning–My family and I are about to be vacationing in Fl. near Port St. Joe–Does anyone know how I can access a flyer from there Piggly Wiggly? Thanks, Christine

    • Michelle

These coupons are in the weekly ad which comes in the mail along with Wal-Mart, Food Lion, etc ads. They are usually in the front of the store as well.

    • Jen

If you live in Charleston/Summerville area -I agree that PW prices and coupon acceptance is a pain, but I still check them out several times a week because I like free stuff!! Here's the deal-you get 1 greenbax for each coupon (10 max per tran.) 1 greenbax = $1.50 at their gas station on Hwy 78 near fairgrounds. Since I have to buy gas anyway, I figure that as long as the item cost me less than $1.50 (after the coupon value) it may as well be considered free. My best deals with coupons have been on birds eye veggies, butter & yogurt, dawn detergent, salad dressings, etc. So take a second look at your coupons and consider their value $1.50 higher than face value.

      • becky.e

How about posting some of your match ups? I will post some of mine, and hopefully we will have some great deals!

    • $SavinMom

I live in Greenville, NC and got the Piggly Wiggly flyer in the Daily Reflector today. It had three coupons (two manufacturers and one store coupon) but the manufacturer coupons do not match up with Jenny's list. The PROBLEM….I can't read the fine print or expiration dates because of the small and poor printing quality on the flyer. Can anyone help determine what these coupons are in the NC area? On one of the coupons I can read “$3.oo off beef or chicken when you buy any (10) participating products”, but you can't read what the participating products are in the fine print. Any help on this would be much appreciated. I have multiple copies, but don't know what the coupons are :(

    • becky.e

Hi Becky – Today I used the following PG coupons from Sunday's paper (6/6)
        -Bounty Basic single roll
        -Cascade rinse aid
        -Ivory bar soap pkg
        -Dawn dish soap
        -Ivory dish soap
I also used printed coupons for:
        -Kraft salad dressing
I also located items in the store that had coupons on the package:
-Yoplait YoPlus has a $.55 coupon (not free, but cheap for yogurt if you need it)
-Hilshire lunch meats on sale for $3.50 (less $.55 coupon & $1.50 greenbax = $1.40)

I divided these into 3 transactions and was able to then step outside and get $45 in gas with the greenbax I just earned.

        Good luck – Jen

I am curious as to why Piggly Wiggly isn't getting the attention the other stores are getting. I like the Piggly Wiggly near me and they usually have some great meat deals (this week b1g1 chicken breasts). It would be nice if you would pay attention to The Pig again.

      • becky.e

While I think that the pig is more expensive in general, I spent $77 on groceries and used the gbx for $75 in gift cards. I would have had to spend that much on gifts and football cleats anyway, so it makes for almost free groceries! This week I dig the pig!

    • Grace in TN

We have a Piggly Wiggly near us in Kentucky. But there is no online sales flyer, and I have not gotten one in the Kentucky Courier Journal.

I am wondering why you say specifically GA/SC. Does the Piggly Wiggly in other states have a different set of sales? I am just wondering if it is worth going there, and what to expect. Thanks for anyone who can enlighten me. :)

And thanks for all the hard work you guys do. Not only are we saving tons of money, but we are able to afford luxury foods and drinks we never could otherwise have. It is so nice to be living on more than beans and rice. :)

    • tdybrs5590

Piggly Wiggly is running a great deal where you get 10 GBX when you use 10 coupons. I used a bunch of Mighty Dog BOGO coupons. My total OOP was almost $3.00. I got back 10 GBX, which I think is $15.00 in grocery money or gas money.

    • Steven

People, You need to remember that greenbacks are money. I see alot of people posting that piggly wiggly is giving you a product for free for X amount of greenbacks. For instance 1 person said they are giving huggies for 6.5 gbx that means you are paying $9.75 for these diapers that's too much. greenbacks are worth $1.50 each for gas, burger king, CiCi's, Dry Cleaners, Ect…

      • Meghann RM.

we live in charleston, so. We are going to the Whirling Waters Waterpark this morning after a trip to piggly wiggly. An all day pass for one person is $15. Just for using 10 coupons you get 10 greenbax. – We have spent enough to earn DOUBLE greenbax for the rest of the year!! That means we use 10 coupons and get 20 greenbax!! I don't know how they are affording to do this, and I don't know how long this will last, but I hope this deal sticks around!

        • liz_in_SC

meghann, it seems only initial purchases qualify for double GBX (triple if $400 per month spent). The 10GBX for 10 coupons used will only get you a max of 10 GBX bonus per visit. At least that's how it works in all the pig stores I've shopped thus far. On your receipt you'll see your GBX earned and Bonus GBX listed on separate lines. Even so this is a crazy sweet deal. If you find otherwise, please post your store location and I will happily make a road trip and shop at your store… lol.

    • Tammie Dockery

I have a question about donations. Does your company make donations? Our church Bible Baptist requests a donation of bottled water? I will give you further info. if you need it. Thanks in advance.

      • liz_in_SC

Tammy, you could of course take your coupons to Piggly Wiggly and do your shopping…then on the GBX days use all those Bonus GBX to get free water to donate yourself.

    • chrystalm

OK I really want to give the pig a chance. how does this coupons for greenbax works do you have to have 10 coupons per transaction to get the greenbax or could i go in with 5 coupons and get 5 greenbax. does anyone know?? I dont want to waste a good coupon for nothing. When I go to other stores I can get free products with coupons the pigs prices are higher and they do not double. I want to make sure this is the best deal for me. Any suggestions of recent coups to match with deals to win at this couponing game??

      • shelly

Good morning! You can use up to 10 coupons per visit at piggly wiggly. If you only want to us 5 that is fine then you will receive 5 greenbax instead of ten. My husband is a District Manger for Piggly Wiggly. If you have anymore Questions feel free to ask. Hae a great day!

    • Jag

Last week you got 1 GBX for every 1 coupon up to 10. Is this ongoing? Does 1 coupon always = 1 GBX?

      • Becky.E

They have been running this deal since Jan. It seems that the last week of the month they do not give gbx, but during the weekend (usually) you can get 15 in free groceries for 10 gbx. You can only get 10 gbx per visit (official statement), but some may let you do 2 transactions per visit.

    • becky.e

It looks like they have stopped the gbx for coupon deal. Please take a minute to email the company and ask them to bring the program back.
