Is this supposed to be good thru the 8th? I went today and was told that it was for last week.

      • Last week was spinach, spaghetti sauce, noodles, and parmesan cheese….I had sick kids so never made it out. Kind of bummed that I missed out since we go through TONS of those items and not much of these. Oh well :)

    • Ehelms81

what are the prices of the “brands”? or does this vary?

    • Roriek

I checked their weekly ad online and didn't see any of these deals either =(

    • Noramk

I did the potato one and noticed on my receipt that I did not get the store brand free……..Got lots of other great deals, tho, so am not going to worry about it!

    • Gina Lemaster

I went to Publix yesterday and bought the Success Boil In A Bag Rice and the Publxi brand, but I did not get the Publix brand for free. Is there somewhere that you can print a coupon? How does this work?

      • this happened to me last week with the Parmesan. I just went to customer service and they gave me my money, no problem!

    • Stacey

I am going to start using Publix, but I haven't made the switch yet! Are there tags on the items marking which ones are free? Does this vary by region? I shop in Smyrna, TN and know that some of the Kroger sales vary, but not too much usually. Thank you for any help!

      • Staceylynn44

yes, it's usually right next to the name brand item, there should be large white tags stating buy this get this free. i shop in smyrna too! if you shop on sam ridley, the publix store is soooo much nicer than the kroger almost next door! kroger is always slammed and publix is nice and calm! i actually get stuff much cheaper at publix (especially since you can use overage to pay for other items!) the publix on almaville rd is good too- i head there sometimes when the sam ridley one is out of stuff i want to get that day (although you can also get rainchecks!)

kroger only gives overage during mega events (because the register reads the original price of the item and will take off the coupon amount up to the original price!) i don't dislike kroger- publix is just a better shopping experience overall. i usually only shop kroger for mega events or if there is something not on sale i need that i know is a cheaper price and it's not during a busy time of day!

        • Staceylynn44

ha, i didn't even notice til after my reply that your name is Stacey too! :)

          • Wyattabbymom

hey look two other Middle TN shoppers! I am just down the road in M'boro. I have noticed at my store they usually have an entire display on an endcap with the buy theirs get ours deals.

            • Blueskyskl

I'm in M'boro too!!! Thanks for the tip!

      • Chero2kee

My husband and I also shop in Smyrna, TN but at the Publix on Nissan out by I24. He loves it as he can get great recipe ideas to cook at the fire station on his “cook” days for the guys. The store is very clean and the associates seem to strive to make you feel welcome and are very helpful. It was nice to see other shoppers from our area here on SS.

    • Amandas79

The free publix items should scan “free” This is done by the cashier scanning the name brand item first, followed by the store brand and it should scan free. I know this from being an associate in one of the Florida locations.

    • Donna

Watch as you check out to make sure that the Publix product is taken off. Last week, 2 of the items was not taking off my total and I had to go back for the refund.

    • Lisao

Is the “buy theirs get our free” deal good on certain items or any publix brand item?

      • Kristina

        certain items

    • Plpaisley

Are the meal deals only a “deal” if you have corresponding coupons? I realize it's like a BOGO but if you use the coupons listed above, most of those coupons are for purchasing two items, so in essence you would be buying two, getting one free. Would that still be considered a deal? Thanks for the imput!
