I just went shopping this morning in my Lexington Publix and not only did I get the penny item (pasta for a penny what’s not to love?) but by donating to Children’s Miracle Network I got more coupons! In fact the coupons are worth more than my donation was! I donated a dollar and wish I had donated more because the monetary value of the coupons go up with a larger donation. Oh well, I now have coupons for snickers ice cream bars, ziploc bags, diapers and dog food. At least they don’t expire until 9/30.

Thanks Jenny for your wonderful site! Keep up the good work, you havef helped me and mine tremendously!

    • Debbie

      Jenny or anyone,
I have a question. My son and daughter-in-law in Phenix City, Alabama(he is stationed at Ft Benning), can you tell me where they can get good coupons and what stores in their area will do double coupons, or even have a good coupon policy.

    • Dear Jenny,
I shopped at Walgreens yesterday and purchased the Colgate Total Advantage which was advertised at 2/$6 with $3 RR, but when I used a Colgate coupon for $1 the RR did not print out. Why’s that?

    • Christie

Debbie, I used to live in Phenix City! They do have Publix, which is by far the best!! It is off Summerville Rd. Also, in Columbus there are 4-5 Publix stores. (one on Bradley Park Dr, Macon Rd, Milgen Rd, and some others) The local newspaper (Columbus Ledger Enquirer) as well as the Atlanta paper are sold at the Publix stores for great coupons. The other groceries are Winn Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, and Lewis Jones. I never went anywhere but Publix though! Hope this helps.

    • Debbie

      Christie,
Thanks! My kids are struggling, our son is Active duty Army and our DIL doesn’t work. I am trying to get them into using coupons to try to save some money.

    • JMR

There is another $5 off a $30 purchase for Publix in the Birmingham News today!

    • sjones

Had a question about stacking coupons. If you use a baby club coupon for publix and it’s for an item that is their brand, can you also combine another store brand coupon? ex: publix wipes $1/1 plus $1/1 FL wipes?

      • Jenny

You can’t stack two store coupons for the same item. sorry. You can only stack different types of coupons i.e. manufacturer, store, competitor.

    • sjones

      Betty,
Let me get this straight. If you donate money when they ask you get a print out of coupons?

    • Dony

Publix has 3 different coupon flyers at the register depending how much you donate then you get the flyer with the coupons for the dollar amount. I think i saw $1,3,5 maybe. It wasn’t that good a deal for me though since we don’t use that many you would get but maybe someone else would be better. :) They have them at register when you check out can’t miss them. :)

    • Heather

I went tonight and forgot to get the penny item! Will they let me get it later in the week if I bring them my reciept? Another question. If I have a coupon that says buy one item and get another free, and I also have a coupon for a $ off of the first item, I can use those together right? This assumes they are both Man. coupons…

    • Katherine

I went to my publix and they substituted the publix shells and cheese for the pasta penny item. The coupons were for $1,3 and 5. I bought the $1 one and most were $.55 manu coupons that won’t double. I figured since my total grocery bill was only $5 including the donation, it was still a great deal for free coupons.

    • Melissa

I was at my Publix in Birmingham tonight and although they have never required the “penny item coupon” from the paper, tonight my penny item did not automatically deduct. I didn’t notice at the time (I was chatting with the person in line behind me); however, I DO have a coupon from the paper, so if I bring that and my receipt back to the store, will they adjust this for me?

    • Ryann

Yes they will give you the full price of the penny item, so you won’t even have to pay a penny!

    • Mina

Katherine, those shells and cheese aren’t a substitution. They are the scheduled item, along with other style Publix mac and cheese dinners.

Melissa, I don’t know how the registers work where you are, but the registers here don’t automatically deduct the item, the cashier has to type in the code for that to happen. I’ve noticed that some do it after all the purchases have been rung before they ring the other coupons, and others do it as soon as they scan the item.

    • JMR

At the Trace Crossings Publix in Birmingham, the penny item usually does automatically deduct from the bill even without you having the coupon. I’ve noticed that the past couple of times I’ve gone because I was trying to count the coupons as they were ringing them in.

    • UGH!! While shopping they switched the penny item to Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup. My husband hates this…Next time I vow to ask for a raincheck to honor the other item. So worth it…..many thanks for letting us know we could do that!

    • Cori

The Publix in Taylors, SC had 40 oz heinz ketchup for their penny deal! Awesome. Our publix did not have the sour cream on sale though.

    • Mina

I’m happy when they sub because then it’s a surprise.

    • cheapshopper

I heard that Publix is no longer going to accept 2 coupons on B1G1. Have you heard this? Please advise.

    • Joy

At my Publix here in TN our Penny item was either Publix pasta sauce or a box of Easy Mac. I went for the easy mac!

    • Michelle

Some of my freinds have told me about this website recently and I came on to look and I don’t understand how it works. They told me that there is a place on this website where you can just simply type in the product(s) that you usually use and all of the printable coupons will come up. Therefore, you won’t have to look through all of the longs lists of product deals that you do not need. Does anyone are to explain?

    • sjones

Hotcouponworld.com and afullcup.com have search engines that allow you to type in your products and see the coupons available. This site mainly focuses on the store deals and which coupons to use to get the best deals : )

    • Sandy

The Mystery coupon does not automatically come off of the bill when scanned. The cashier has to enter the coupon look up number from the coupon and enter the amount of the item minus a penny.
