A thought… You will not get much closer to free, so if you don’t need, like or want this item, then give it away. There are many folks that would probably love it!

Publix diet cola is really good. It is made with Splenda only…no aspartame!

Thanks for this, I've never tried it so was a little leery. Do they have anything like Diet Dr Pepper?

I went Publix when you said the penny item was a bag of sugar. I ended up pay FULL price for that sugar! Sad thing is that's the only reason I went into Publix that day. I thought the penny item was the same for ALL of SC.

      • Duh!!!

All stores can change the item due to stock availability…maybe YOU should have confirmed it with your store first before blaming someone else…

There's a sign in front of whatever the penny item is. I look for the sign before I pick it up, since it can vary by store. And you do have to spend the $10 and have the coupon. If you don't, it's full price. It pays to pay attention.

When you gave the cashier your Penny Item coupon what did he/she say? At that point the cashier should have told you that the sugar was not the penny item, and told you what was. That is the point I would have taken the sugar out of my bag and had the cashier take it off the bill. The decision to pay full price was fully yours.

When I went in that week for sugar they had paper towels at my store, so I asked a manager and she said I could get the sugar. They had paper towels for 3 weeks in a row… must have had a massive overstock!!

Hey thanks, MelRae…I didn't know that and will definitely use my coupon for that flavor.

I do not have a paper this time – is there a place to get the coupon online?

    • Cindy

I was getting SO excited about penny item but then I read the thing about Florida and guess where I'm from :( no penny items for me….

    • sharon60

I'm sure has been covered many times, but I just can't remember.

Can you get more than one penny item? Say I spend $40, can I get up to 4 of them in one transaction or would I have to break it into 4 separate transactions? I really wanted 3 of the sugars and spent $60 that week only to be told it was 1 per transaction. The good news is that at least I had only cut one coupon out of the paper that I was buying at the store so I was able to put the other 2 back. Had I have known, I would have come back another time and at least gotten a second bag.

Don't get me wrong paying the cost of the paper plus 1 cent was totally awesome and I was and am thrilled. Just don't want to embarrass myself again.

Can I return something if I used a coupon on it? I got home and realized I bought 2 Cheerios that were $3.99 each before coupons!
