    • alg

      is it a single roll?

      • flower_mom

        usually is

      • Yes, it will be a single roll.

        • jessica

can you get more than one?

          • Saven

usually one per transaction. Not sure if you could do 2 transactions back to back, I wouldn't do that in a grocery. I'm sure if you made more than one trip, you could, but that's a lot of trouble!

    • trish

      What is the penny item?

      • Shelly

It is an item you get for 1 penny ($0.01)! You can only get it on the day your ad starts in your area and you must spend $10 to get the deal!

    • Debbiesc

Our Publix makes you have the coupon from the local newspaper… So you can buy the paper for $.75 cents and have to spend $10.00 to get it for a penny with coupon, or but it without the coupon for $1.34 (which is what it cost last time) and not have to spend the $.01 cent plus the $.75 for the paper nor the $10.00 to get it for the $.01. In all actuality, it cost you $.76 cents with coupon.

      • Beth

Don't they have the ad available in the front of the store?

      • Bamamomof4

It has to be a $10 purchase BEFORE coupons…so you can use coupons and get the penny item and the other items for under $3 in most cases… : )

    • Beth

So do you just bring them the coupon and they have a roll up at the register already?

      • Danyeln

Most stores have piles of them near the door and in the main aisle at the front of the store so that you can grab them.

    • Nana

At the Trenholm Plaza Publix in Columbia, the penny item is cookies.

      • Sam

where is the coupon? do you need it at Trenholm Plaza?

        • Nana

Yes, you need the coupon that can be found in today's State newspaper.

    • sally

Since we get the paper everyday anyway and I can always use $10 worth of groceries without buying unneeded items, I count the 1 cent item as just that – an item for 1 cent.

    • jk

Does anyone know if the Publix on Folly Rd in Charleston, SC requires a coupon?

    • UR2DUMB4COUPONS

OMG PEOPLE! Yeah, you have to buy a paper to get the coupon. It's on the second page of the living section in the AJC. And no, they don't have the rolls sitting at the register. But they'll be marked on an endcap. And you can only get one per transaction. If you have several coupons then do a few transactions of $10+. I get so tired of dumb questions on here. I can only imagine how Jenny and the others feel.

    • HomeschoolingCouponingMom

People just beginning couponing don't know everything. There's no need to be rude.

    • jade65

      Hi
Does anyone know where to get the Sargento shredded cheese coupon?

      • Libbiann7

I think I found it on http://www.coupons.com, but it was only for the pepper jack shredded cheese.

      • Gail

I printed mine from the printables for publix on there website.

    • Tammy

You really should check your attitude. This is a friendly , helpful sight .

    • Vanessa

Wow! A little rude, huh? Here's an idea….if you're tired of the questions (which by the way, people have the right to ask) why don't you quit reading them?

    • Semac02

Which paper would I find this in?

    • Atammy035

where do i get the smart source publix coupons on 3/8/2011 home mailer? i didnt receive them in the mail. is it th junk mail in the paper

    • Whiteivy999

hi southern savers! i have a question for you. today i went to publix to do some shopping and was told by the cashier that they no longer take target coupons. i was surprised becasue i thought publix always took competitors coupons. the manager told me that this was a new policy they put in place a few months ago and when i asked it its on their website she said no. i really hope this isnt true bc i loved shopping at publix for that very reason that they took competitors coupons. so my question is is there a way to get the new coupon policy that they put in place bc its not online anywhere.

      • lp30

I had the same problem, but they told me they will only take the Target coupons that say Manufacturer coupon across the top.

        • Amber

Store managers gets to decide who they consider a “competitor.” The Publix website is usually what's true for all stores in general, so unless your store has its own site, competitor coupon information wouldn't be included. It's really best to either call or stop by to speak w/ the manager to find out who they consider a competitor. I also keep up w/ a few friends that shop where I shop so if they have any problems, or I do, we let each other know. Many stores only take actual grocery store coupons.

          I hope that helps. :)

      • Rosebud2002

Each Publix is different. I live in Opelika, AL and OUR competitor coupons are Winn-Dixie, Kroger, and Earth Fare. Other than that, they don't take other Q's.

      • Rose786

no this cashier and manager must be new i am in suwanee ga and they take coupon from all grocery stores except drug store.

    • Mooreg10

SAME problem with publix taking target coupons whether they say manufacturer's or not. where do you get the answers to the questions posted here?

    • Cindylou

It is sad but true, but all “coupon'ers” are not honest. There are a few in every area across every state that try to “bite” the hand that is feeding them, so to speak. So for that reason, “coupon policies” are set into place and revised as needed to try to offset some of the “hurt” these dishonest few cause. They will deliberately time after time.. try to defraud by going to what they call the young and dumb or find the new face and give them a stack of coupons that could overwhelm the most seasoned cashier. They will present coupons for items that were not even purchased as well as present 14 Q's on 14 like items when the Q clearly states good off purchase of two; normally this will be a high $$ Q. Just saying what I have heard over the past year or two since Q' ing is becoming a necessity for many of us to make it through this economy. No company is reimbursed from their competitors..they just absorb the loss, hoping to build loyalty from their shoppers. In order to be a competitor, there needs to be one within 5 miles of location. Some Publix do not have the problems with as many trying to take advantage of them, so they are more liberal with accepting competitors..If YOUR store has changed, now you know why>>BTW>> Walgreens, CVS, RiteAid, these are RX stores and they have what…maybe an isle of food? So IMO..these would not be competitors anyway, yet most Publix will accept them, because they are Publix! I am loyal to my Publix for this reason!! I will absolutely use all my coupons, but I also buy my milk, bread, eggs, and other foods that I do not have any coupons for, because I want to support MY Publix!! They help me by accepting all these coupons that do not get paid for, so I want to keep them there for me.. just saying… As you can tell from this post I am a well seasoned shopper, and this is for all those who may have never given any thought to store you shop at… think… use coupons… be honest… and we can all save and continue to shop at all our favorite stores!! AND SHARE on this site!! Even if it is just venting…lol

      • Brandi

Well when you get elected coupon police, you can do whatever you want. Til then, I will use all 18 of my coupons in one transaction, on the same item, if the store takes them.

    • new-to-Q

I apologize if this has been addressed recently.
      1) Publix rainchecks state that they expire in 1 month…I went to your workshop last year & was told that they don't hold you to it. Last week tried to use an expired raincheck & well, it didn't go smoothly. Did I miss an update, what's corporate policy?
      2) What is that “code” that shows on your receipt if the cashier hits a button so you don't receive double your smaller coupons? Hasn't happened yet, just don't know what/where to look for.

    • Jennifer

I asked few employees at Publix about this and it was even a mystery to the manager.

    • shale

how many of the penny item can you get? is it only 1 total or 1 for each $10 purchase?
