The Mystery Penny Item at Publix for Wednesday 4/11 or Thursday 4/12, is:

Publix Greenwise Paper Towels

You can get the Publix Penny item with any purchase that is $10 or more before coupons. Most stores will require the penny item coupon found somewhere in your Wednesday or Thursday paper.

The Penny Item is for one day only, and will be the day that the ad starts in your area. This is Wednesday for all of SC and AL, and parts of GA, or Thursday for Northern GA.

I’m assuming this is for next Wednesday/Thursday (April 18/19) since the current ad lasts until then?

      • Julie

Hmm..I’m thinking it would be for today or tomorrow only, depending on when your area paper has the coupon. I’m not sure the penny items necessarily have anything to do with when your ad runs..?

      • ColleenBrooke

It will be for today or tomorrow (April 11th or 12th). They had the penny item with the 10-day ad last week too. It was on its usual day, even though the ad didn’t start on the penny item “day.” HTH

This is an awesome deal! At my Publix in TN, they had the 3 pack paper towels, which for a penny is a great deal!

i wish we had more options here. The only store we have that doubles is winn-dixie and only up to 50 cents.

      • Melindachuko1

lucky, we dont have any stores in FL that double.

        • Tarac98

Not true…Hitchcocks and Harveys doubles everyday…Also…Freds doubles on Saturdays. :)

    • Rosalie

Wish people would stop referring to it as a penny item.  It’s a 76-cent item since you have to pay 75 cents to get the paper that has the coupon….at least that’s what my paper costs me.  Anyone know what the regular price of this week’s “penny item” is so I know how much I’m really saving?

      • Beth

It only costs me and my neighbors a penny!  We get a free paper every Thursday thrown in our yards with the mystery coupon in it. But if I had to buy the paper it would be a total of .76 for me too.

      • Terry

it is a penny item for me, my publix does not require coupon :)

      • Wendy

The 3-pack of paper towels in my store in GA is 2.39.  I got the AJC delivered for Sun. and Thurs. only for a super great deal this year.  If you are in GA, watch for promos being offered from time to time.  I signed up with a guy who had a table set up outside Walmart.  He offered me a $5 Walmart gift card if I signed up.  I told him I’d sign up for 3 gift cards, and he said ok!

      • Tarac98

I wish our store actually did this…I wouldn’t complain of having to pay $0.75 for the paper when a $2.39 pack of papertowels was going to be a penny…jmo.

      • Julie

With my Sunday subscription to the AJC they allowed me to choose another day’s paper for free. I picked Thursday so I could get the penny coupons for Publix, so it is a penny item for me. I never would go buy the Thursday paper for this so it’s a nice little bonus ( :

Ill take a 3-pack of paper towels for a penny. Some how Ive been getting a free paper delivered everyday for almost a year. Must have been a subscription from the previous owners because the newspaper people said theres nothing I can do.

Go to the state.com newspaper site and you can get a penny item for the cost of printing.
