      Does TN participate in this?
      I live in Nashville.

They do, but you have to have the coupon in the Wednesday paper.

Does anyone actually pay much attention to the penny item anymore? Just curious. I used to look forward to it when I could actually get it for a penny and not have to buy the .75 Wed paper to get the coupon. Back then I used to bring my husband with me and we’d split our order into two transactions of $10+ each and could get 2 penny items. That was a deal here in Smyrna, TN. Now have to buy 2 papers to do that. I suppose it still saves you a bit, but seems such a waste of unwanted newspapers.

I don’t look forward to it as much as I used to, but if I’m going to Publix on that day and spending $10 anyway, I might as well get something free. :)

        • AP

          I mean $0.01. :-P

I don’t get the paper so I don’t have the coupon, but I usually just ask the cashier and they will still give me the penny item anyway.I go to the publix in mboro tn.

For example, todays deal would make it .38 per roll of paper towels. Not bad I guess but it’s usually their cheaper version of the paper towels. On the 4-roll toilet paper, that would make it .19 per roll. Not too bad, but it just kills me they’re still calling it a penny item when it really costs you 76 cents.
