    • ATTENTION HOMEWOOD, AL PUBLIX COUPONERS! Mike at customer service asked me today if I lost my coupon book. I showed him my ratty shoebox with pool foam noodles in it, assuring him it was not mine. He said it was a pretty elaborate binder, including the typed Publix mission statement, customer service policy, and dietary/meal diagrams. Someone spent a lot of time on it so I told him I would post it here in case a southern saver might be desperate to find it. This is at the Publix on Greensprings in Homewood, AL.

Is the Publix ranch or French salad dressing any good? I used to like Kraft ranch before they changed it. I like Aldi French.

My Publix Penny item was Publix brand Frosted Flakes today.

      Michelle – what city?
I have plenty of salad dressing AND plenty of cereal right now.
But, I could always use more Italian dressing to marinate those Kroger $1.99 a pound chicken parts!

    • Warning!!!! Today I was at Publix on Butler Rd in Mauldin SC. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT, go in Margaret’s line. She is a black girl-young-with a Jamaican accent. It took me about 20 minutes to check out because she read every single coupon and then proceeded to argue with me over 2 of them which were perfectly legit. I had a competitor (bloom) coupon for cereal and I combined it with a manufacturer’s coupon and she would not take it. I gave up on that one and just did not get the extra $1 off. However, when she refused to take my Crystal light coupon that said “FREE when you purchase 1 any flavor Crystal light” (and I had bought 2 instead of 1-more than what was required) that was it. I was not about to let her not use that one just because she did not understand the way it worked. I was VERY nice to her but I was VERY frustrated! She told me she could not take it because it would make the item free………. HELLO??? That’s what it was supposed to be. It was a free coupon! OK… enough ranting. If you have a “not coupon friendly” list in your coupon binder, put Margaret on the list. I think next time I’ll go to another Publix before going in her line again.

      *Laura,
I have used those q’s at Bi-lo and Kroger. But my last trip to bi-lo, I tried to use them and the guy did not know how to scan it and customer service girl wouldn’t take it because it said “redeem at Publix”. I tried to explain that it was a manufact coupon but she still wouldn’t take it.
I think it is how they scan it. For it to work, they have to scan the barcode that starts with a 5.
I used some today at Kroger and didn’t have a problem.

      Good Luck

      Lindsay,
The Publix in Carrollton still takes the Rite Aid Q? What about Target or Food Lion?

I usually shop at Mirror Lake and New Ga, but they quit taking the Rite Aid, and one takes Food Lion, the other takes Target. It’s a pain. I forgot and tried to use a Target Q at the wrong one the other day.
I tried to change to the Cartersville Publix (I live in the middle of all these stores) but it has been nothing but a disaster. None of them have any concept of coupon use, and treat coupon users like thieves.

      Rita –
I have had issues with some cashiers at Publix and I called the manager. I am always very careful to make sure my coupons are in order and grouped together to make it easy for them. One lady was not nice about it at all. The manager was very nice and apologetic, and said he would speak with her. I still avoid the one ladies line though!
