Depending on who your Publix believes is a competitor, you can use some really great coupons at Publix this week.

Albertsons Weekly Ad

$5 off $50 purchase

$4/4 participating General Mills products (exp 3/29).

Including: Honey Nut, Banana Nut, Fruity, Cinnamon Burst, and Multigrain Cheerios, as well as Reeses Puffs, Kix, Fiber One Chewy Bars, Nature Valley Nut Clusters, and Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks

Winn Dixie’s ad

$5 off any $30 purchase

Don’t miss the Harveys and Food Lion printable coupons posted earlier.

With all of these options, I’m sure that you can do a great job at Publix this week!

    • Pnutter

The Harris teeter ad in the charleston post and courier has $10 off $40 which is great for super doubles but most Publix accept them too.

      • Lisa J.

I've never tried using those at the Goose Creek Publix since there is no Harris Teeter store anywhere near there (at least not until they finally build that one at Carnes Crossroads). I didn't think they would consider HT a competitor there.

        • Pnutter

I live in Mt Pleasant and there are several of both stores so they are considered a competitor. I dont think they would there.

          • CCShad

The HT coupon is great, but the Mt. Pleasant stores now follow the specific language on the coupon which says the $40 must be spent AFTER coupons. If I don't spend $40 after coupons, I have been using the Riteaid $3 off $15. They ring those up before coupons.

            • Michelle

Are these $10 off $40 printed in the paper or are they on a Harris Teeter ad insert?

            • Pnutter

They are on the ad insert, but only the ad insert that you get with the paper.

            • sullivansisland

i think they are in ALL papers that are delivered, but only some that you buy individually. the coupon is in the one at my local gas station, but not in one i bought from a machine. (same ad, just no coupon on the flap).

            • Cindylou

They are only in places that have a new HT close by… I think… that seems to be the pattern…

            • Kate

Whe you say $3 off $15, do you mean printable survey coupons?

            • Cindylou

They have always followed it as it is written at my Publix, but I think a lot of the cashiers didn't know or care, and now they must have tightened them up!

        • KAW

They take Whole Foods and Earth Fare coupons with no stores nearby…why not HT — it couldn't hurt to try.

I think the HT at Carnes Crossroads is on hold indefinitely….

        • Cindylou

They do take them… I have a sister that shops at that one, and she has used them… but it may change..lol

      • Kate

I just bought the Post and Courier in downtown Charleston and there is Harris teeter ad in it, but I can not locate 10$ off 40$. Is it supposed to be in the insert or just as a separate coupon??

        • Pnutter

It was on the insert. Maybe just Mt Pleasant gets them.

          • Mmf67

The post and couriers in mt pleasant only have been running them for weeks. They built two new stores that opened near the same time last spring or summer and have been running them ever since. I keep hoping they don't disappear!

        • Cindylou

The $10.00 Harris Teeter coupon is only in the Post and Courier in stores around the new HT on 41 so only like the B P gas station and Wal Mart and others in that area will have the insert with $10 off. Park West Publix papers has it in them, but you have to get there early, and now you need to pay for it before you shop cause they been having people STEAL the inserts and leave papers on the isles and never pay for them…ugh!! Why so people have to ruin a good thing by being thieves??

    • Sjohnson71

There is a $5 off $30 purchase in Bruno's ads also.

    • Mommy Ishtar

I tried using a Rite Aid $5 of $15 last night and was told that coupons had to be on a specific item. I know this policy probably varies from store to store, but just wanted to warn that the $5 off $30 may not be accepted, even if they do consider them a competitor.

    • Tala

My Publix is taking Winndixie and Albertsons as a competitors coupons. However they will not take printed coupons $5/50 or $5/30. They are taking only one which is in an add or which is printing from Winndixie catalina. I am in Ft. Lauderdale, FL are and we don't have $5/30 in a weekly add or on their website.

    • Amanda

We didn't get the $5 off $30 winne dixie coupon in Orlando FL

      • Floridacouponmama

Agreed. We are on the east side of Orlando and did not get the WDQ either.

        • Jaylene

Didn't get it in Albany, GA either.

      • Chickity301

        GOSH I HATE Jacksonville Florida!

    • Lisa J.

Family Dollar will have a $5 off $25 purchase coupon coming up also in its next sales flyer, which runs March 28-April 5.

      • Cindylou

Family dollar is not a competitor for any Publix… just saying.. They won't take it…

        • ocdsaver

Actually, they are a competitior…they are a local retail store selling the same items and many Publix will take them….just saying ;D

        • grace

they are in my area and Publix accepts their coupons

        • Dittob

Just saying…my store takes Family Dollar

        • Swashdawg

They took mine yesterday in Metro ATL

    • Musiclady0110

My Publix considers Winn Dixie a competitor….do you know if they will accept this $5/$30 if I print it from this web link for Winn Dixie or does it have to be from their flyer???

      • el

where is the link on the website? Thanks!

        • Musiclady0110

scroll back up and click on the blue Winn Dixie ad…then right click to get a print option

      • Guest

I've printed it off the web before and they've taken it.

    • Erin

In Mobile, AL we got the $5/$30 coupon in the Bruno's ad but not in the Winn Dixie.

    • cara

The free magazine Bloom puts out called flourish, has a few coupons in it. One being a $3 off any Olay brand item. Says manufacturer coupon redeemable at Bloom, not sure if it would be a competitor coupon or not?

      • CCShad

I had the same question about the GE lightbulb man. coupon on Jenny's list that very specifically says can only be redeemed at WalMart. Same for some of those Weight Watcher frozen dessert coupons saying can only be redeemed at Food Lion.
This language is different from the coupons that just have a store name on there. I wonder if Publix will accept them – if not as man. coupon, but maybe as a competitor's coupon?

    • Shayelyn

I received a $5 off $50 coupon card for Publix in the mail today. I live in the Tampa Bay area and also got the $5 off $30 coupon in the Winn Dixie flyer which a Publix nowhere near a Winn Dixie accepted today.

      • Xxplumcrazeexx

I have the Winn Dixie ad but no $5 off $30 coupon in mine. Clermont FL :(

        • Jessica A Rice

Try printing the one online from the ad. They may still accept them.

    • Kate

I have the same question as Michelle. Just bought Post and Courier and although there is HT add in there, I could not find coupon

    • Shodges45341

Can a Cvs 3 off the purchase and Winn Dixie 5 off the purchase price be used together?

      • My stores will not accept CVS, BUT they will accept more than one competitor $5/$50 type Q. Say $5/$50 Winn Dixie and $5/$50 Albertson's , as long as your grand total before coupons is over $100 (the total of both of those coupons). AND as long as they are 2 different competitor Q's, and not say 2 of the same Albertson's one.

    • Free_Man

What is frustrating is that we have maybe 6 Publix stores in 7 mile radius and half of them accept CVS, Super Target as competitors, the other half do not and all the stores are within a few miles of one another, so it is obvious that they are not being ruled out based on proximity, but poor management decisions and lack of proper application of their own corporate policies!

      • Swetemlisa

I spoke to a couple of people who work at Publix and my store had to start limiting coupons b/c of certain customers taking complete advantage of using coupons from other stores. Basically the person was stealing, using other store's coupons, getting the items for free and trying to return them to other stores. It's people like that that keep the rest of us from getting good deals. Hope this helps.

        • guest

how can you return to another store with no receipt?

      • Tala

We have about 17 Publix in 7 mile radius and none of them will or did take in the past CVS, Walgreens and Target coupons. I was told that they were taking Target coupon's 4 years ago

      • CMKimB25

My Publix will take Winn-Dixie, Target, and Albertson's coupons, but not walgreens. The way it was explained to me actually made sense: They will accept coupons from stores that are primarily in the “grocery business” (SuperTarget included), not just a store like a drug store that happens to also sell some grocery convenience items. I do however agree with your frustration over the policies from store-to-store not being teh same.

    • Kenziesfunluvinfam

The Publix where I live only excepts Kroger as competitor coupons. This is so frustrating to me because I never see any Kroger coupons! The only ones I get are the ones you can download! Am I missing something? HELP!!!
Now my Kroger is not allowing ecoupons on top of paper coupons. So, I am at the point that if Kroger is not having one of there Mega Deals I'm not shopping there anymore.
Sorry! I am in need of venting….I feel like I finally got it figured out and now they have changed it! It seems like they could have notified people through email that are registered . I was pretty bummed when I got to the register and I had to pay alot more than I expected :-(

      • Sb

The Kroger total purchase coupons do come in handy at Publix though! Although, those are few and far between.

Have you ever asked your Publix if they will take the Kroger brand coupons? For instance $1 off Kroger brand icecream and then buy the Publix brand and use the coupon? My store lets me do this and it really come in handy during Publix's Buy Theirs Get Ours promotion!

      • Jackie g

The Kroger I go to is the same as yours so I do not add any coupons to the ecoupons if i have a MQ that I can get more off …the ecoupons also do not double and if u have them on your plus card they will override any MQ's u have..I will add an ecoupon to my plus card if I do not have a MQ coupon for something they have on sale…. I rarely have a Kroger CC to use at Publix.

    • Mgirl03

Can I go back to Publix, show them the coupon, and get a $5 refund on a purchase of over $30? Or do I have to show the coupon at time of purchase?

      • Frances

You can bring the receipt and $5 coupon back. Customer service gave me the cash for $x/xx and other coupons previously. Just bring the $5 coupon before it expires. Customer service will check if the date that you shopped was valid with the coupon dates.

    • Maryanne5610

Our store manager said that in June or July, no Publix stores were going to be taking competitor coupons.

    • Maryanne5610

sorry, all Publix stores were going to stop taking competitors coupons at all.

    • Cindy

Thanks Jenny. I appreciate all your hard work to save me money!!!!! You are a God-send and I'm thankful!!!!

    • Job

Okay, Publix is my go-to grocery store, but I have to admit I'm a little nervous about trying to use competitor coupons there. Can someone tell me how it works? Does the cashier just manually input the coupon amount or do the bar codes actually scan? I am shamefully ignorant to this process.

      • Mekana84_7

I always stack competitors Q's at Publix! They just read the amount and type it in. They cannot scan them. It rings up as “Competitors Coupon” and credits your bill. This is one huge reason why I do go to Publix so often. Mine will take Target's coupons and that is awesome because they are so readily available! Good luck.

      • Frances

From my limited experience the cashiers manually enter them as competitor coupons. I guess if the coupon has a bar code that starts with a 5 the cashier may try to scan it. I used to have no problems with $5 and $10 off $30 – $55+ competitor coupons, but today the cashier at a Publix in Palm Harbor, FL said I had to have a $30 total after all the other mft, store and competitor coupons were taken off. ( I used the $5 off $30 purchase Winn Dixie coupon. ) I had a $20 total after lots of coupons. The customer service rep okayed the q this time…( not sure if it was because it was after 10pm, I did offer to add on a $10 meat item. ) Publix customer service is the best! So, I would advise that you check which way your Publix deducts the $x off $xx coupons. Also check if they will accept only one $5 competitor coupon or multiple depending on the total of your order.

      • Sgcruz

I was very nervous the first time I used a competitor coupon. But, Publix cashiers are very well trained on which competitor coupons to take. I just asked a cashier what competitor coupons they take and she knew right away. My local store takes Target and Win-Dixie. They will not take drug store coupons. They manually key the amount and it rings up Competitor Coupon on your receipt. I've not had an issue yet using them. I am just very careful to get exactly what is on the coupon. If you do that, you won't even hold up the line a bit.

    • Gpjagarrison

At my publix they will only take one competitor coupon per day (not transaction) So if I have the 5 off of 50 from albertsons and the 5 of off 30 from Winn Dixie I can only use one. They used to let me do 2 transactions, but they wont do that now. My Publix and all the ones in the area have really gotten strict on their coupon policy

    • My store also takes Earthfare there's a coupon there for $1/1 Fresh Pork (Pork Loin on sale $1.99/lb.) and $1/2 Kashi Products. http://www.earthfare.com/YourS

    • Couponing4myfamily

My sister works for Publix in SE AL and said that at her store (we have another) Publix corporate was going to be eliminating the accepting of drug store coupons. She didn't know about Target yet. She said it would be posted on the website soon and on the doors as we came in. She told me to keep shopping as usual (with Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, and Target Q's), but to look for this to happen soon. So, that just leaves WD and Bruno's (for what that's worth) for us here. One of our stores is very picky and the other Publix gladly accepts without hesitation. I don't try to get by with anything. How can I when is spend, for example $5 and get $127 worth of stuff? (That happened yesterday with me!) I can't fly under the radar because people like to watch me come in and see my total go down. They can't believe it! But, others look like I am trying to steal. I wish that they (coporate) would come up with a policy and everyone had to stick with it. I hate wondering how I'm going to be treated when I walk in. I want to hold my head up high and say, “yes, I am a couponer, and yes, I am saving my family money!” without worrying about how that manager “feels” that day. Just venting, sorry! :)

    • wendyc33

I may be an exception to many people, but i think publix should stop taking so many competitor coupons. The store does not make money off those coupons. Especially since drugstores or target really should not be a comp. store. I think many many people are taking way too advantage of this, and it is out of hand at many stores. I think if they want to take a comp coupon it should only be a grocery store coupon. Target to me is not a grocery store. esp. drugstores. I know everyone wants to get a great deal, so do I, but I think there needs to be a total widespread decision by all publix stores to just take a grocery store comp. coupon ONLY. just my opinion, because it will make things easier, and no confusion. Now that I said this, Im sure not to be liked very much. haha

      • Squirrelhater

I love our local Publix's coupon policy. They only take local groc.store comp.coupons.No target,rite-aid,walgreens,etc.They do take at least 5 different groc. store's coupons, though and allow stacking with maufacturer's coupons.I love that “ours” won't take drug/superstore coupons as this keeps the psycho shelf cleaners at bay and means that you can actually find most everything from the Wed. ad on the weekend or later..and even if not, they're great about rainchecks..Yay,Publix!!!..going back shortly.

      • Mamaberry

        Couple things should be noted:

1 – If the stores were seeing their profits affected too much, they WOULD limit the variety of competitor q's, not continue to expand on the stores they will take. Must not be hurting the bottom line too much. That being said, corporate HAS made the decision in the last few weeks/month that only one $/$$ q can be used per transaction. So, there is some reasoning on their part.

2 – Each store is the one responsible for what they will take. Target IS a grocery competitor in some areas. It's Super Target, and they are realizing there is a huge market in grocery. They are expanding a lot of their stores to cash in on what Publix has known for years! (and wal-Mart for that matter) However, many areas this is not really competition yet so they don't take it. Area matters

3 – Finally, I am sure Publix appreciates your concern for their bottom line, but they have top executives who are paid big $$ to analyze the bottom line for their chain. They see what comes through. If profits were being hurt too much, they would change. But, they don't so it obviously isn't!

        Yeah for us!!

        Happy Couponing :)

      • Deniselovescoupons

Our Target is a full size grocery store with meat, deli, dairy and produce.

      • queenbee

I think you should let Publix decide what's best for them and their bottom line. Personally, I love the fact that Publix takes Target and other competitor's cooupons. Let's face it …. Publix is not cheap. In fact, they're as much as 50 to 75 cents higher on almost every item they sell. It's a very noticeable difference. Couponers are in the minority meaning there are still lots of people shopping at Publix who don't use coupons. They are definitely not loosing any money. If I couldn't use coupons at Publix, I probably wouldn't shop there because it wouldn't be wise for me to pay more money for the exact same item I could purchase at a cheaper price at Wal-mart. My suggestion to you is to enjoy the savings and let Publix worry about how much profit they're making. I assure you they are not suffering.

      • Sgcruz

No grocery store in the country is better at knowing what works best for their bottom line. Publix KNOWS that this policy brings those of us that would otherwise shop at a lessor expensive competitor to their store.

    • Blink_11

I love that they take competitor's coupons. If it's true they're going to stop, I can tell you they'll be losing alot of business from me. I love Publix, but if I can't use my Target, Albertsons, & Winn Dixie coupons there then I'm naturally going to go where I CAN use them. I much prefer Publix, but my priority is saving money for my family so I'll go where the deal is!

      • Renee_mcclintock

Actually they are going to keep taking competitor coupons but only if it is a 'true” grocery store and it has to be within a 3 mile radius. If a SuperTarget is within the 3 mile radius they will continue taking the coupons.

        • Oughtoh21

not sure how anyone is coming up with a policy from Publix yet!!! I work there and corporate is still working on a new policy!!! so as far as i know there is not a new policy to even be spoken of yet!!! Ultimately it will be up to your store manager what coupons will be accepted. He always has the final say so!!!

    • Blink_11

My Albertson's add only has the $5/$50 & my Winn Dixie doesn't have the $5/$30. Does it vary by region?

      • Blink_11

Nevermind, I found the other Albertsons coupons…still no WD, but that's no big deal.

    • Nisha1997

I just called my Publix and they are still accepting ANY competitor's coupon (not to exceed $5 in one transaction) that can be used with a Publix or manufacturer's coupon. Yaayy! I am having a hard time trying to find the new booklet though :-(

    • Swashdawg

Has anybody actually used one of the Albertson's General Mills coupons at a Publix? Did they take it? It does not even resemble a real coupon! Please let me know. I am in Atlanta, we don't have Albertson around here.

    • Shannon

VERY excited! I live in Florida and just found out my Publix took Albertson's coupons! They let me use the meat coupon from the front of the Albertson's ad St. Louis style ribs B1g2 free WOW!!! Also the petite sirloin steaks!!! I walked out with 3 St. Louis style ribs,3packs with 2 in each of the petite sirloin steaks and 2 kraft barbque sauce, and a small pack of gum for 20 dollars and change!!!! I also had a 5 dollar off winn-dixie coupon and a 2 dollar general coupon YAY!!!

      • Oughtoh21

typically publix will not honor any of the albertsons coupons that are listed as petite, angus, seasoned or the st louis style ribs because they do not sell them. u got lucky!!! The only ones i know they will honor is the pork tenderloins ones.

    • Rudy1013

For those living in Huntsville, Alabama, the publix on 53 will not accept coupons from any competitor grocery store outside a 50 mile radius…such as the wonderful coupons that are out for Harveys this week…the one for $1.00 off of Ritz crackers…they would not accept it because they say the closest one is in Texas….boo.

    • Brigit76

where is the winn dixie one I do not see it in the flyer?

    • Sharie

Can you stack a competitor coupon (Say target) with a manufacture coupon at Publix??
