I decided come up with some budget friendly ideas for the meal we’re all thinking about this week, rather than doing a menu plan.

Everybody loves Thanksgiving and luckily a lot of products are still on sale this week!  One thing all these recipes have in common is butter, so go ahead and get stocked up on one of the options below.

(I used sale prices for Publix but all of these things are on sale everywhere!)

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, 10-16 oz. spread B1G1 at $2.89 ($1.44)
Land O Lakes Sweet Cream Butter, 15-16 oz., $2.50

Roast Turkey – Recipe

Publix Frozen Young Turkey, 10-24 lbs, 59¢ lb.

Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice, 59 oz., $2.50

Squash Casserole – Recipe

Kraft Chunk Cheese, 7-8 oz., $2

Sweet Potato Casserole – Recipe

Sweet Potatoes, 39¢ lb.

Baked Mashed Potato Casserole – Recipe

Idaho Potatoes, 5 lb. bag, $1.99
Breakstone’s Sour Cream, 16 oz., $1

I can vouch for the Paula Deen dressing that you have linked here. It's been a favorite for years in my house and kids fight over the left overs.

If you don't buy anything else at Publix this week, make sure to load up on the sweet potatoes. At $.39/lb., it's as cheap as they come! My local farmers market sells them for $.69/.lb.

FYI, I just bought Sweet Potatoes at Walmart today for $.28/lb

Lowe's food has Sweet Potatoes for .27/lb

Anyone know where to get the cheapest turkey? Can anyone beat Publix's 59 cent/lb?

If you have Food Lion there, they are offering turkeys for $0.39/lb once you spend $35 on other groceries. HT had a similar deal last week, but it is over.

      • Food Lion has it this week for $0.39 with purchase if you have one in your area.

    • *Flatbread tacos , chips & guacamole (Tortilla chips were BOGO last week, Wholly Guacamole was FREE with their $4 Q, have the meat/bean mixture in freezer from last week & Pillsbury frig. doughs are on sale this week and have Q's at Publix and Winn Dixie) The recipe for these is posted in last weeks menu.

*Fried Chicken, mashed taters & corn- (all of this is from previous weeks. Chicken was BOGO at Albertson's. potatoes were 2.69 2-3 weeks ago, and corn was BOGO. Now potatoes are 1.99 this week and frozen veggies are on sale again too!)

*Hot dogs, Alexia onion rings & green beans (probably on Wed, as we get ready for the big Turkey day! Hot dogs are from freezer, Alexia frozen items were 2.50 last wk and had $1 FB Q's and had $1 Publix Q's=.50 cents each, canned veg are .45 at Target & had $1/5 Q's)

*Steak soft tacos, Mexican Rice (I have a steak in freezer that needs used up. A soft taco kit from WD for FREE, 50 cent sour cream, Knorr Mexican Rice from many weeks ago for super cheap)

*Thursday- Green bean casserole, Pumpkin Cheesecake (might make this a Pumpkin Turtle Cheesecake….)and Nacho cheese dip and chips for later on when we play games. :-) We each bring a dish or 2 or 3 for Thanksgiving.

(canned veggies are .45 at Target plus I had $1/5 Q's, cream soups are .50 @ Target and had IP Q's, cream cheese was free a few weeks ago w/ the $5/5 Q, pumpkin was 1.29 at Target, have the graham crackers for crust in pntry. Just need to buy the pecans this week for this meal. Got it for 1.99 after a $5 Q for Winn Dixie.)

*Friday- no planning for this day, as we always have leftovers of some sort and have shopping to do, spending time with family, etc…
