Our publix stores do not honor Whole Foods coupons as there are no Whole Foods stores within 120 miles of here. So people need to know each publix store is different. Mine accepts target, family dollar, and kroger as competitors coupons.
Also, I have tried using coupons before. But for the things I buy…there are rarely any coupons. I do not buy hardly any processed foods. I make my own foods from scratch. So, what advice is there for people that prefer food from scratch and 100 natural foods? I also don’t buy the normal chemical filled over the counter meds and toiletries. So those don’t save me anything either. Thanks for any advice.

Um…..change your diet??? Ha…..I don’t think there is a way to save a lot. Do the gas card deals when they come along. Try the % coupons at CVS for non sale items or high items. Same with Walgreens. BiLo has a great gas program. Not so fond of Ingles. Save in other ways to afford your more expensive items.

Take advantage of the money maker deals to save off of the rest of your grocery bill, then donate those products to your favorite charity.

Try coupons from Mambo Sprouts. Read past blogs Jenny’s friend did on the “organic journey.” Take advantage of organic manufacturer coupons (i.e., last week Tom’s of Maine toothpaste for kids was $1 at Publix, Target carries Method and other organic products). There many other ideas out there, just takes a little more work to find. Good luck!

Trying to coupon seriously I found was too much temptation and I was buying things I ‘shouldn’t’ have. But I learned which of the few things I do use have coupons sometimes (like land of lakes butter) and keep an eye out for those, and otherwise use this site to make shopping lists of sale items (like Seventh gen products) for the two stores I shop, and use the coupon search and search current sales for the few ‘regular’ items I use.

Aside from that, I’ve found a food co-op is my best option, although it does mean buying bulk. For example here in mid-TN there’s Bulk Natural Foods, I got 25 lbs of second peaches, minimally sprayed, for $20. Woo hoo! And even the itty bitty garden we put in has given us 2 months of organic lettuce for the price of a bag of soil, mulch and pack of seeds. We only got 4 carrots though, lol.
It is more work, but stick to your convictions. There’s a reason we can’t get the good food for dirt cheap or nothin’. Put your money where your mouth is.

That said, this site is awesome and has taught me to shop as frugally as I can, and saves me a lot of trouble trying to shop the sales alone.
