Publix Weekly Ad 2/11-2/17

Here are all the deals that start today 2/11 at Publix. I’m starting to think every week is a good week at Publix. The list is long, so highlight it, copy it into a document, delete what you don’t want and go shopping. Let me know if you see something I missed or find a deal in the store.

New Food Lion Printable coupons are UP!!. Don’t forget that you can use a competitor coupon for house brand items on Publix house brands.

**Starting this week I have added direct links to ebay for coupons that make items a great price.  I searched various coupon vendors and these were all only available on ebay.**

Remember:

  1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price
  2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
  3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)
  4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
  5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are .50¢ or less

**1 & 5 do not apply to Florida stores**
For a detailed explanation of Publix’s coupon policy go here.

    • I think the Green Giant Valley Steamers should count toward the $10 with 15 purchases rebate.

    • Deborah

Also, there is a $1/1 off any Ken’s marinade from SS 01/11.

    • Jenny

I just checked the rebate form and it says Green Giant “Boil in Bag” Which is usually their boxed Frozen Veges not the Steamers. I just called and left a message on the number that is at the bottom of the rebate form. I’ll let you know what they say, but for now i would not expect those to work.

    • Megan Martin

What rebate are you guys talking about??

    • As always, thanks Jenny!

    • I went to Publix for last weeks sales, and I am new at compiling everything, but I saved $73.11 and only spent $73.95. With all the coupons I had, the store coupons, the advertised special savings, and the advantage buy savings, I was real proud of my long receipt and my fat wallet. Thanks for all the information you have given us Jenny!!! You have helped so many families you will not even know about. May God continue to bless us through our relationships with HIS people.

    • Karen

Newbie here…sorry for such a silly question..but just to clarify. When you say Food Lion coupons for house brands can be used at Publix….You mean, If I print out the FOOD LION coupons for FOOD LION Brand items..(i.e. Diapers, Fruit Bars), I can use them on PUBLIX brand Diapers or Fruit Bars. Also..when it says Butcher Brand or Bakery…meaning the in house Food lion Butcher or Bakery, making it usable on the in house Publix Butcher or Bakery??
And is this across the boards for Publix’s…or does each one have their own policy?

    • Megan, the rebate was in the coupons flyer, not sure which one, that you get out of the Sunday paper. It is located on the back of the Revlon page and states that if you buy 15 participating General Mills products in one shopping visit at Publix between 2/8/09 and 3/14/09 you get a $10.00 Publix gift card. The number is 1-800-627-6059 for General Mills, maybe they can give you the form if you do not have it. Happy Shopping!!!

    • Karen

Ok..so I just called my local publix and they said that they only honor competitor Store Coupons for BRAND Name products. Not for house brand vs. house brand.

    • Christy

Does Publix double the coupons from Betty Crocker that are printable for 50 cents off Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes? These coupons say do not double at the top when they print out. Just want to make a plan to use these or the 40 cents ones that double to 80 cents. Thanks so much!

    • Pam

Sorry if this is a silly question, but my Publix says they do not accept their coupons stacked with manufactor’s coupons or any competitor’s coupons stacked with man. coupons.
      Is this their corporate policy?
      Thanks so much!

    • Pam

Whoops, sorry! I just read the top of your post more carefully. I guess it is just my store.

    • Lauren

just fyi…i made this mistake yesterday

Publix large eggs 1.39, while they are 1.29 at Kroger this week. I’m kicking myself, especially since kroger is next door to the publix i went to last night.

    • Laura C

Re – Food Lion coupons – YMMV so, as Karen did, call your store and ask if they’ll honor the FL coupons on Publix brands (when the FL coupon is on a FL brand). Most, if not all, Publix stores in GNV FL will take FL coupons for store brands.

    • Jenny

Wow lots of comments today! Let me try to get the questions I saw.

The .50/1 Betty Crocker will double, it starts with a 5, and these are automatically doubled by the computer.

In terms of the store brand/house brand coupons I have never “asked” my local store just used them. They have never said a word. I did ask corporate (always beter to ask them than a regular store) during a long phone call of questions and was told that they do accept them since the Food Lion house brand is a competitor of the Publix house brand items it is still a competitor coupon.

    • Melissa

How does a BOGO coupon work with BOGO items? Particularly the Milk Bone Dog Bisucuits? Thanks.

    • Jenny

      Melissa,
It depends on where you live. If you are in FL, it makes both items free. I have heard of some stores requiring you to get 3 items to use a B1G1, if that is the case with your store then get 4! Pay for 1 get 3 FREE.

If you are not in FL — Because neither item is actually free, then the coupon makes it 2 for the half price of one. So you would get 2 for $1.85 rather than 2 for $3.69. Use a $1 off coupon with that and it gets better of course.

    • bob

On the Tide coupon found on the ToysrUs circular ..Will Publix actually honor a toysrus coupon since there not a competitor?

    • Jenny

The person that sent me the deal had it work for her at a store in the Atlanta area. That particular deal is going to be big “YMMV” your mileage may vary. It is worth a try though if you use powder Tide.

    • Wendy

Jenny-Bi-Lo has a Bonuscard coupon (found in the Feb-Mar Bonus Saver at the front of the store) for $1.00 off SH Premium Ice Cream that you could use for the Publix Premium Ice Cream, half gallon, $3 ea
      deal.

    • Amanda

I have looked several times and I cannot seem to locate the Celebrate Kimberly Clark booklet at my Publix. Should it be at the front with the other brochures or is it somewhere else in the store?

    • Brittany

      Pam,
According to my FL store manager, policy is to stack up to one of each type (man., store, competitor) coupon on any item.

    • Amanda

Oh, my goodness, I just saw the post on this. Thanks!

    • bob

I just went to Publix and tried to use the Tide coupon from the ToysRUs circular and they would not allow me to use it because they did not consider them a competitor.

    • Under the Betty Crocker cake mix, my ad says BC icing for .99 I just bought 3 cannisters for free w/ a .50 Q from GM 2/08

    • mhorner73

      OOP @ Publix $93.00
      Savings $137.00
      Thanks to Southern Savers!!

    • mhorner73

Also, my Publix (N.GA area) does not accept drugstore or discount store coupons.

    • Julie

Regarding coupon policies – I live in Atlanta, where we have a Publix on what seems like every corner (At least 5 within 15 minutes of my house!) and the coupon policy is different at every store. The Publix closest to me doesn’t accept printable coupons (and they are very wary of competitors coupons – depends on the cashier). So I often drive to a Publix just 5 minutes farther that accepts competitors and printable coupons… it’s usually worth the gas for what I can save! All that to say, call around and see what the policy of EACH store in your area is, because it varies widely.

    • Lana

I had 50 cent coupons on Swiss Miss pudding in my files-these may have come out of Swiss Miss hot cocoa boxes. Going to check the unopened boxes I have. Makes it 25 cents!

    • I couldn’t get the Milkbone $1.00 off coupon to print. It just told me the offer was maxed. Bummer.

    • Brittany

my store also had betty crocker icing for 99 cents… 49 cents after coupon in recent paper.

    • Edie

My Publix does not have Muir tomato products on sale for .99. Is it a regional thing?
By the way, thank you for your time in compiling a list of BOGOs.

    • Janis

      Hey Jenny,

Could you tell me where you saw the KY advertised for $3.99? I bought some today and they charged my $6.99. I was able to use a $3 man. and $1 store coupon….I thought I was getting it for free until I checked my receipt. Thanks for everything!

    • Jenny

It was not advertised. The smallest bottle (of the regular kind) in the stores near us are reg. $3.99, I also saw it posted on a deal forum so assumed it was not just local. Sorry you had a problem with it though. Was it the smallest one they sold? I can put a “get price check” next to it if it was.

    • Janis

I’m not sure if it was the smallest one…It is 6.7 oz. When I go back I’ll check it out. Thanks for answering so quickly!

    • Lauren in Sarasota

First of all, I want to thank you for this WONDERFUL Web site! I’ve been subscribing to grocerygame.com, and it’s been helpful, but you have to pay — not terribly much, but still… Your help is free AND, for me, the way you have it structured is easier for me to “get.” THANK YOU!

Now I need to vent about an experience I had at my favorite Publix today. I spent a few hours this morning organizing my Kimberly-Clark coupons in preparation for a diaper-toilet-paper-paper-towel-shopping bonanza, determined to stock up on paper goods at a great price because I could stack manufacturer and store coupons, and take advantage of the Publix Gift Card Offer at the same time. Today was the deadline.

I had one hour to shop, then get to the post office to mail my receipts and forms for the offer. Luckily I had taken the time to sort and order my coupons that morning, so I could speed through the store, and make check-out easy. Had my cart overflowing with Scott TP, Huggies, Cottonelle, etc. when I got to the check-out. All my purchases and coupons were organized in the proper order, and in three batches so I could submit three forms to get three gift cards (it was pretty impressive, if I do say so myself!).

As she was ringing up my first batch, the cashier started handing back coupons, saying I had too many. Since I was in a rush, I let the first batch go, thinking that perhaps I had an extra thrown in there (but knew I didn’t).

She rang up the second batch, then took the corresponding coupons and said, “You can’t use two coupons for one item.” I told her I’d done it dozens and dozens of times. She called over the manager, who said the same thing: You have too many coupons! I repeated what I’d said to the cashier, but no go. Ugh. I let it go because I had to get to the post office.

Was in a total dither, trying to figure out which coupons to pull. By this time, they were all mixed up, and the people behind me were getting annoyed that I was holding up the line.

I wouldn’t have bought the enormous number of things I did had I known they wouldn’t allow stacked coupons. Ended up spending a lot more than anticipated, then speeding to the post office. Arrived at 6:02 p.m., and the doors were locked. Mailed my three envelopes anyway. Maybe they’ll give me a break, even though they were post-marked a day late.

Has anyone in Southwest Florida area had the same problem? (It occurred to me after I left that another manager at that store has checked me out several times, and hasn’t had a problem with stacking coupons. I suspect the cashier wanted to go home and was annoyed that I was making things complicated; although she was the one who made them complicated, as far as I’m concerned!)

Thanks for listening to my looong rant. I will be going to another Publix in town from now on. Just hoping that corporate hasn’t changed its policy. Although I save a lot by being a smart “Southern Saver,” I’m faithful to Publix and spend A LOT of money there.

By the way, if anyone out there has curly hair, KY (the plain-old basic one) makes a great hair gel! Those coupons are good news for me! I don’t particularly like it for its intended purpose, but I read about how good it was for taming frizz on naturallycurly.com. Good b/c it’s water-soluble and doesn’t have silicone, so doesn’t build up.

Just another reason to clip coupons you don’t think you’ll use. You just never know when/where/how they’ll come in handy. (I just wonder what houseguests — my 85-year-old mom, for instance — think when they see two or three KY tubes in my bathroom!)

Jenny, I was wondering if there was any way to find out before Sunday what the penny item was going to be? I prefer to shop on Saturday, but if I knew ahead of time if the penny item was something I needed/wanted, then I would definitely hold off until Sunday or Monday!

    • Janis

      Hey Jenny,

I went to Publix tonight to check the size of the KY that is $3.99, it is the 4 oz. bottle.

    • Jenny

      Sherry,
If you have a good friend at a store in the front desk area they can tell you the penny item early. My store will never share, even if I’m there Saturday when they close. If you do find a person who shares early I would love for you to share with us!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Publix in Atlanta had Aleve (3.59, don’t remember the qty) with a 1$ off coupon attached, I bought four and stacked them with the 2 of the $4 off 2 Publix coupon.

Wondering if there’s a complete list of the General Mills/Pillsbury products that are eligible for the Publix gift card offer…Buy 15 in one shopping trip, get a $10 Publix gift card. Have looked high and low, but I can’t find a complete list.

Can I use 2 of same coupons at the same time? for example, is it possible to use $2 off Breath Right Strips 12ct Walgreens Coupons at the same time?

    • Jenny

You can use 2 of the same manufacturer coupons at the same time without a problem. Using two of the same competitor coupon is another story. Most stores will take two or more of the same competitor coupons, but it is going to depend on the cashier you go through. I wish I could give you a more precise answer but it is truly up to whether the cashier lets you.

      Thanks, Jenny!

The FL coupon for $1/beef says it’s Butcher’s Brand beef. Did anybody have a problem using it on Publix beef? I really could use this coupon.

      TY!

I have used it without a problem many times this coupon comes and goes a lot from FL.

I used the beef q today without a problem.

    • Jill

      I just had to share.

      Total spent today $10.69,
      Total saved $12.47.

This was my first go at it, so I started out small. I’ll be going to Kroger on Saturday and expect to have a much bigger savings thanks to your help ladies. Thank you so much.

    • Kelly

      Hey everyone,

Thanks for this site! This is fantastic! I was curious. When shopping at Publix, when they offer discounts when you buy 3, do they offer the discount when you only buy 1 of those items? Or do you have to buy all 3? Sorry. I’m totally new.

    • Jenny

At Publix, you can buy just one of anything and always get the sale price. If you live in FL then you will need to get 2 B1G1 items, but anytime it says 3 for $5 or something like that you can buy just one.

    • Kelly

That’s wonderful! How about manufacturer’s coupons? I have one that says you must buy 3 items to get 75 cents off. Does that policy only apply to Publix sale items or does it also apply to man. coupons? Thanks again for your help!

    • Jenny

If the coupon says that you need to buy 3, then you do need to buy the three items. The coupon will beep when you try to use it if you don’t have the number of items it calls for.

    • Kelly

Oh well. Had to ask. Ha! :)

    • Kelly

Okay. Final question, I promise. I’m going shopping with my coupons tonight. Yay! So, if Publix accepts competitor’s coupons, that means I can take coupons from Kroger, Target, Southern Market, etc., and they will honor them? That just sound too good to be true!

    • Jenny

Thats right! It does sound too good, but it is what makes Publix the best grocery store in the south. (Can’t speak for other areas but I’m very biased in our area).

    • Amanda H.

Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for all you do! I am a “poor college student” (haha) and my mom is like a coupon queen. She referred me to your site, and the first time I shopped using coupons last week, I saved $84.38 (not including VIC savings) at Harris Teeter. (I got $171.14 worth of groceries at Harris Teeter for $86.76!) I also went to Publix, where I saved $45.41.(I got $111.61 worth of groceries for $66.20.) I did it all using tips and coupon deals from your site along with advice from my mom and lots of pre-planning and organization!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I will be coming to this site often now that I’ve seen the benefits of using coupons. I know my numbers probably aren’t that impressive compared to what many people do, but hey, it was my first time! Haha. I have a lot of respect for all the people who are saving so much, and I’m looking forward to getting better at it, too. Thanks so much!

Thanks, Desiree, for the list of products in the General Mills/Publix promotion. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

    • Kim

I would love some further clarification if the Green Giant “Boil in Bag” is indeed the same as the boxed frozen veggies. If so, please let us know!

    • Jenny

Kim – if you go to Green Giants website they don’t even mention a boil in a bag product. Going from the picture on the rebate and speaking with the lady who returned my phone call from the rebate center they are the same product and eligible.
