The deals in this Publix ad look pretty good.  Lots of things with coupons and lots of chances for me to use the cents sign!  I’ve tried to make everyone happy this week and have put back in the price for both items, but I also listed the price for one.  I hope it’s not too confusing but still makes everyone happy.

I have also added in the top Yellow and Green Advantage Buy deals, but check the full lists to make sure there isn’t anything else that you need.shoppinglist1

Remember:
1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price **
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less **

** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL and coastal GA**

    • Sherry Geren

Love it! Looks like a good week. Thanks

    • bhumi

awesome, i was just waiting to see this before going to bed.

    • RB

Does anyone know if Publix will accept Kroger coupons?

      • Jenny

They will accept any grocery store competitor coupons, if that store is in your area. So if you have one somewhat local then yes they will take them :)

        • RB

          Thank You :-)

    • Alicia

Jenny, is the math wrong on the Campbells Select Harvest Soup, or am I losing it? Either might way is a possiblity! ;)

      • RB

You get 2(BOGO) @ $1.19 -use your .40/2 coupon that doubles to .80cents. Subtract .80 from 1.19 and you have two cans for .19cents each ;-) I had to think about it for a minute also.

        • Shauna

It looks to me like they are .79 each not .19

          • Ferris

Actually they are 2/2.39, so subtracting .80 from 2.39 does make them .80 each. =)

    • Mina

Oooo! Now I have a good reason for not having gone out of my way to go to the Dollar Tree for coffee filters this week.

I’m going to throw in a product plug. Sabra’s hummus is our favorite grocery store hummus. When I splurge on non-sale, non-necessity items, it’s often because I’m craving Sabra. It’s not only tasty, but attractively garnished, as well. I can buy cookies, set them on a shelf, and no one will touch them. But they devour this stuff as soon as they see it.

I guess you know what I’ll be buying and trying to hide this week. ;-)

      • Jenny

        Mina,
I actually thought you and your night of sitting on the floor eating hummus as I typed up that deal and coupon! Enjoy your treat this week.

    • Melissa

Hi All – Would everybody think I am a total nut case if I ask what hummus is? I have never had it before, but see people buying it all the time. Does it have a cream cheese taste or more of a refried bean taste? Don’t everybody hit me all at once – LOL :)

      • Damien

It has kind of a middle-eastern kinda taste to it… perhaps Indian tasting… my wife said it tastes a little like potato salad when I asked her to describe the taste, but I am not so sure about that. I am sorry I cannot give much of a description, but I am terrible at describing how things taste. I just know it’s pretty delicious.

The main ingredient is chickpeas, so if you know what chickpeas taste like then perhaps you will have an idea of what hummus tastes like.

        Goes great on crackers.

      • Chrissy

        Hi Melissa,

Hummus is a dip made of chickpeas and other ingredients, and it is an ancient food prepared in many different ways, depending on which part of the mediterranian/middle-eastern part of the world the preparer hails from. It’s actually very simple to make from scratch at home, as long as you have a blender or a food processor. You could just pummel it using a mortar and pestle, but then you’ll get super chunky hummus. I personally like it when it is as smooth and fluffy as possible.

There are many different recipes on line, and you can change up the flavor, depending on if you want garlic, lemon, sundried tomatoes or peppers, etc. I personally blend in a food processor or blender one can of chickpeas, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 to 1/2 cup olive oil, one clove garlic, the juice of one lemon, 1/4 to 1/2 cup tahini (which is 100% pure ground sesame seed), and salt and pepper to taste. I blend it until it get super smooth, but really just blend it to whatever consistency makes you happy. Remember – the less liquid items you use, the thicker the hummus.

        I hope this helps!! Enjoy!

      • Miriam

I can’t exactly put my finger on the taste, but the texture is like a cross between chip dip & refried beans. My favorite is the roasted red pepper. It makes a great veggie dip that’s a lot better for you than regular sour cream based dips. Might as well try it while it’s on sale! I will say that I like the Athenos & Sabra brands, but wasn’t that impressed with the Tribe brand.

      • Hummus is a great meal or snack because it if full of protein!

        • kathyctts

I’m also excited about the hummus deal!
For those who haven’t tried it yet, Sabra is the best tasting store brand I have found, so for a dollar, you should give it a try. I use it as a dip for carrots, tortilla chips, pretzels. And also as a topping on a sandwich. I love it on whole wheat with avocado, tomato, cucumber and a slice of cheese. It is chick peas(aka garbanzo beans)with garlic, cumin, and other spices ground to a smooth paste.
          Basically, Hummus is Yummus!

          • Can you freeze hummus???

      • Amanda

Hummus tastes like garlic bean dip and I love it! Personally, I like to use it as a sandwich spread with turkey. Yum!

    • Damien

I have not been able to find the Mahatma Rice coupon on that link either last week or this week. Is there a special zipcode that you have to use or has that coupon long since disappeared? I tried my in-laws zipcode which usually gives me more coupons but even that did not work.

Oh and I am liking the new reply to feature… now I can reply directly to people’s questions or comments.. and see direct replies to my own questions.

      • I am loving the reply feature too!!! :) How wonderful Jenny!! Damien I couldn’t find the Mahatma Rice coupon either. Is it under a certain zip code?

Thanks Jenny for all you do!! This is awesome!!

        Jess

        • Amanda

          no mahatma for me either??

        • sam

          no mahatma or zatarains here………

      • trisha

goto the all you website and you can print coupons there. The Rice coupons are on that site. NOTE: it will look like coupons.com but it isnt really there are several pages but I think I found the coupon around page 18 or 19

    • libby

Do I need to multiple the bogo prices by two again?

      • libby

        never mind

    • libby

I had this same problem last week the Old Orchard Healthy Balance Reduced Sugar Cocktail coupon says that I have printed the max but I haven’t done any.

    • Jennifer

Thanks for keeping BOTH prices Jenny (My Florida brain was already stressing..ha)! The reply feature is fantastic too!! Your site is just the best!

    • Jen

I’m looking for the Publix flyer with the Fancy Feast coupons. Is there a title on the flyer? Thanks.

    • Jen

I’m looking for the Fancy Feast coupons in the Publix flyer. Is there a title on the flyer? Thanks.

      • Jenny

Sorry Jen it is a separate little slick flyer that you might find in the turnstyle or on a display in your store. They say “Redeem at Pubix but they are manufacturer coupons)

    • Brook

Is it normal when you first start out with this that it takes several hours to plan your trip? Does it ever get easier?

      • Ashton

I would say, yes it is normal. When I first started it took me a long time to plan a trip but now it is much easier and quicker. You will get it, just hang in there!

      • Jenny

It used to be an all-day event for me when I first started a year ago. I had to learn what I really ‘needed’ to buy versus what was a ‘really good deal’. Once I cut out the things that were ‘really good deals’ my list got shorter, and the bill got smaller :)
And, don’t stress if you don’t have the coupon for the item on sale. I used to get all worked up if I didn’t have it, but then I realized I was still gettin the item on sale, so it was still a good deal for me!
And you never know when a coupon angel will leave an unused coupon on the shelf for you to find!!

        • Brook

i found a few on the shelf today. and even one in the parking lot!!

      • Victoria

I have found that it gets easier nad quicker once you have developed a good stockpile. I go through the list and only get things that are free or almost free because I already have tons of food for my family. For example, we already have 10 bags of white rice – so I don’t need to get any, no matter how good of a deal it is. We have at least 10 boxes of cereal, so I can skip through that section.

        • libby

I’ll still buy things even if we don’t need them, if it is free, because we can always donate it.

    • Teresa

I love the new comments structure… :) Thanks Jenny <3

    • emily

just wanted to let you know target has 1 dollar off slimfast coupon. I printed it a week ago it expires on the 26th

    • Ashley

publix on central has coupons hanging up that state when you buy the hungry jack syrup you get the pancake mix free.

which means you would get both for 1.89! Not too bad ey?

    • noelle

      Quaker Oatmeal question:

Can you stack manuf. coupons with that $3 off 5 products coupon?

If so, we’re eating a lot of oatmeal next month!

      • Jennifer

I would say no, since both are manufacturers coupons. You can only stack a manu with a store or competitor coupon.

      • Jenny

The $3 off $5 coupon is a manufacturer coupon so you can’t stack any more with it. Sorry :(

        • Michelle

I had a bad experience at my Publix today and I wanted to ask your opinion. I tried using the Quaker coupon and was told I couldn’t because it’s a Bi-Lo coupon (they have stopped taking anything but Kroger & Target at this Publix)….but it says very plainly on the coupon “manufacturer coupon”, and they still wouldn’t accept it. Don’t they have to accept manufacturer coupons?

    • Learning2CouponFL

      Brook,

Like anything it’s gets quicker and easier with practice. I’ve tried out four different systems for organizing my coupons and getting ready to shop so far. There’s a great post here: http://www.southernsavers.com/2009/06/extreme-couponing-organization/ if you don’t think your current system is working for you.

Now I can make a list in about 15 minutes (I just copy/paste from the matchup list and then add in anything extra we need). I spend another 20 minutes or so collecting the coupons listed. Shopping is really quick too because I put my list in the same order as the grocery store aisles. Since having a baby two months ago I’ve started making my list when I first get to work on Wednesdays, then I do the match ups during my lunch break and on Thursdays I do the actual shopping during lunch as well.

      • Brook

what do you mean by match-ups?

    • Kristen

Love the shopping list. This is the best website. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

    • miralys

Love the new shopping list! Also, heads up that the spanish rice flavor mix is 59 cents at my Publix, making the Mahatma deal a little sweeter.

      • libby

For me my Publix won’t do overage so I might as well just buy the more expencive one if it is going to be free.

    • Anne

We don’t have a Bi-Lo in my area. I assume I can’t use the Quaker coupon, but I’m not sure since it says “manufacturer coupon” on it. Anybody know?

      • Anne

(If you haven’t looked at the coupon yet, it says “BI-LO” in giant letters at the top).

        • AngelaDH

I believe it is a manufacturer coupon because it says for the retailer to send the coupon to Quaker to be reimbursed. The barcode on the left also begins with a “5”.

          • Anne

            Thanks! :o)

      • kim

I just came back from Publix and they accepted the Quaker coupon, even though I don’t have a Bi-Lo near me.

        • It is a manufacturer coupon even though it has Bi Lo on it. That is why they will take it.

          • Michelle

My Publix refused to take the Bi-Lo coupon today as it is not a local competitor, even though I pointed out that it’s a manf. coupon!!!

    • Bobbie

Does anyone know about the coupons that printed for the Smart Balance Butter Blend Sticks. The coupon doesn’t have a bar code instead a pin number. Will Publix take those? Also thanks for all your help Jenny. I have to print almost all my coupons since I can’t find them in our weeklys. Jenny wish you would get on the coupon folks and let them know we need more coupons in the Birmingham area.

      • Irene

I just printed that coupon but mine has a barcode. Maybe you can try it again.

        • Bobbie

Thanks Irene, I will try again later.

        • Bobbie

Just tried again with across town zip code and it printed the bar code. Thank you.

      • I think Jenny is already doing a lot and shouldn’t be expected to argue for your coupons. Read her post about how to get the biggest paper possible and if you still can’t find the coupons you want, you should use the Southern Savers trading group or join Hot Coupon World and trade there. There are lots of resources, you just have to use them!

        • Bobbie

If you will reread my post I said I wished “not expected” her to get on to the coupon folks. I also get the biggest paper which is the only one I can get in Birmingham. It’s just that all coupons are not the same in all areas and I sure didn’t mean she wasen’t doing enough.

          • Sorry if I came off harsh. I used to run a deal blog and I’m a little hypersenstive as to how much time it takes and people always wanting you to do more. I really just wanted to take some of that burden off and provide you with the knowledge about where you can get the better coupons. No wishing necessary.

    • Amanda

Can’t find the kotex q on their website

    • JenH

      Thank you! Love this site!

    • ash

My publix (gwinnett county, ga) told me last week that they will no longer be doubling coupons that say ‘do not double’–i guess either their computers are now sensitive to that or they are hand-checking them.

also, they will only take 1 walgreen RR per transaction. they were very nice about it all and let me know for ‘next time.’

didn’t know if anyone else had the same experience??

      • Megan

Bummer! The IPs that normally say DND really give you some great deals when doubled….I guess the stores are catching on and starting to lose too much $$$ by doubling everything. My Publix (Barrow Co. GA) has not told me this yet, but I expect that it is coming…they seem to be checking coupons very closely these days…

      • Melissa in GA

I haven’t heard about the “do not double” issue, but they are getting stricter about using 1 competitor coupon per transaction, especially the Target ones. I shop in Gwinett County as well. I actually drive 20 miles because they are more coupon friendly there.

      • Ash, which Gwinnett Publix are you shopping at? I shop the Grayson and Loganville (Walton Co.) locations . . . so far, they haven’t stopped doubling the DND printables (which are incresing in number these days!).

      • My Publix in Gwinnett (Mulberry Village in Dacula/Auburn) said that they were told to not double any coupons with “do not double” on them, but then a few days later were told to ignore the do not do not double memo (confused?!) and to keep allowing them to double as usual, as it is Publix that is paying for the doubling, not the manufacturer. This store is AWESOME! They are super coupon friendly and just overall extremely customer service oriented. I drive a little further to this store because everyone is so helpful and I never have coupon issues there.

      • lynn

The publix in vestavia (bham) supressed mine to keep from doubling. I asked about it and she said it was store policy (did not happen the week before). I also shop the homewood location and have not had a problem there. seems to be dependent on which cashier you use.

        • Tammy

Really? Vestavia? They are usually great even at taking Target coupons. Disappointing to hear.

      • If you shop at the fence road publix, they’ve taken it back (I checked yesterday 9/24). You can continue to get double even if the coupon says not to do it. For some unknown reason, they began doing it and really bummed alot of us out. But a couple of weeks and phone calls later, it has been remedied and it is all back to normal. If it happens, ask to speak with manager because it may be that the cashier has not been properly informed. Hope this helps.

        • And yes – the Fence Road Publix is by far the best Publix in the area. They have great stock, love their couponers, get as excited as you are about your savings and are great about giving you a rain check if you need it. It is out of my way to shop here, but I so enjoy them that I go regardless of whether or not I am doing my coupon shopping!!!

    • I had my best shopping trip yet, and I am so proud. I bought 14 packs of steamfresh veggies, 4 boxes of eggos, 4 kiwi fruit, and 3 apples, and paid a whopping 13 cents. Please note that I had a $5 off $25 competitor q.

      • Steve

Which $5 off $25 coupon did you use at Publix? Was it a Publix coupon or from another store?

        • Amy G

They will take Rite Aide, Walgreens and CVS has the $5 off $25.. Publix will take those.

          • Amanda

You’ll probably need to check with your manager before you head in with a Rite Aid/CVS/etc coupon. None of the Publix stores in our area will take Drug store coupons — just other local grocery stores.

    • Michelle

Just want to let my Athens, AL couponers know that our Publix told me yesterday that they have stopped taking a lot of competitor coupons, but they DO still take the Food Lion coupon, CVS, Target, Rite Aid. They do NOT take the Harvey coupons. I’m sure they still take the Kroger coupons. I got this from Jason, the manager.

      • Michelle

Oh yeah…Walgeeen coupons are still good too.

      • Val

Thanks for the heads up on that. I noticed that they are getting more strict.

      • What about the Bi-Lo coupon on Quaker Oats? Even though it is manufacturer, will they take it? Does anyone know where that coupon came from? Does Bi-Lo email coupons if you sign up on their website?

        • I have never tried the Harveys Q there. I will try the BiLo this time though b/c it is a manuf. Let us know if anyone else tries this, as they change their minds a lot there…

      • Michelle

So did anyone try the Bi Lo coupon? I did a formula coupon that was a manufacturer’s coupon (but had the Meijer store trademark on it) and it went through. I am thinking that if it states “manufacturer coupon” on it, it will go through. But I would be interested if anyone did the BiLo.

    • Looking forward to the new print option – I tend to look online, wait until I see the ad to double check local stuff, look online again and waste a ton of time! this will definitely help with organization! Thanks!

Publix has reusable shopping bags with Halloween themes – adorable! I used my free bag coupon to get my daughter a purple bag with a magic wand with a big star – she loves it! There was also a pumpkin and Frankenstein monster. Our store has them with the Halloween goodies and they’re going fast!

    • amy

LOVE the printable shopping lists and the new format for comments/answers to comments! Thanks for all you do, Jenny! :)

    • *** FOR COFFEE DRINKERS*** There is a $2 off Joffrey’s printable on their website. It’s a PDF which may be why Jenny didn’t post it, but it is hosted on the company’s website and suggests you to use it at your favorite supermarket. This will make it $2.49/bag!

      • kim

Thanks very much for the coupon link. I used the coupon at Publix today, paying $3.00, as the coffee rang up $5.00 a bag, which is 1/2 $9.99.

    • Jan

      Hey Jenny,

I was wondering if there was any way that you could still have the comments numbered like before. I like to read all the comments and its much easier to remember which number I left off on that having to reread and find the newer comments….Thanks for all you do!

      • Jenny

That is actually any unforeseen bug of adding the new reply feature. My husband is trying to figure out what happened because it helps me too. I have no idea how I will count out the winner of giveaways with no numbers!!

    • Lisa

The Eggos and the Keebler cookies are good for the Kellogg’s rebate that ends on 9/30. Right?

      • Amy

Help! Can’t find the Eggo coupon. Did anyone find it in the Birmingham, AL News?

        • Lisa

In Atlanta they were in an 8/2 insert called Kellogg’s Fuel for School.

    • Lisa

If I buy 10 Eggos and/or Keebler cookies, could I use 5 of the Publix Adv. Buy coupons and get 5 free shopping bags? Or could I only use one of the coupons?

      • AngelaDH

I asked the guy at customer service in Ooltewah the other day and he said I can only get one free bag per transaction regardless of whether or not I bought two General Mills and two Kelloggs.

      • I think that depends on your store, as I was able to get 3 bags last week on the General Mills deal and they didn’t say anything, the cashier even went and got me another coupon since I only had 2 and she grabbed the bag also.

      • I have only done one per transaction, but here is a little tip. The more expensive insulated bags ($2.49) can also be done with this deal. I decided to try it since I was already stocked up on the regular ones and my cashiers two different times had no problem giving me the more expensive one free!

        • Paula

Thanks for the bag tip, Amy B! I’m excited about getting some of the nicer bags too!!

    • Warner

What wieght frech’s mustard? Please put in the wieght.

      • Jenny

It’s the smallest size. Sorry that was one that I found just walking the store, it’s reg. price and I didn’t look that closely to get the size.

        • Tammy

I tried to read most of the comments, so please forgive me if this was stated earlier and I missed it.
My Publix does not have the french’s mustard on sale. Also, last week, there were 2 products on the b1g1 list that were not on sale in Alabama. Are the states different? If so, what state is this site based on. I went to get a rain check on the mustard, but we spent forever checking for it in the paper and then the manager told us that it was not on sale.

    • Elizabeth

I can’t find the Fast Fixin’s Printable. Help!

      • Shanna

I think I used 90210 for the coupon. It was a couple of weeks ago so I’m really not sure.

      • Anne

90013 worked for me last week…

    • Tammy

    • Patricia

There is another Q for Mt Olive pickles in SS 8/16 in case your RP doesn’t have it. It’s for 50/1.

    • Lauren

Can I use HT $3 catalina at publix?

    • j0j0

      thx jenny

    • Kelly

I may be the last to learn this, but my Publix cashier just told me they’ll accept printed coupons in B&W ink. This will really save $$ on the color ink cartridges.

      • Phillis

Kelly, I have always printed my coupons in black and white and haven’t had any problems at any store.

      • Freedom Ellis

I never print in color and have never had a problem. I use a laser printer that takes toner instead of ink. Cost $25 for toner cartridge and I have been using the same cartridge for 2 years!!!

        • Jan

I LOVE my Black & White Laser printer! Much Cheaper to print coupons.

    • Melanie

      Jenny,

Just wanted to say again…THANKS for all you (and your husband) do.

You have made it the best of both worlds (Florida and everyone else) by having both the BOGO price and the price for each item.

Didn’t think the site could get much better, but you have proved me wrong again.

    • lynn

wo Jenny looks like you have out done yourself with another wonderful job thank you for all the new features you have added this will maximize the time i spend looking things over each week and to have a custom list woohoo

    • lynn

coupons.com has the ronzoni past coupon 1/2 should go with this week sale

    • Heather P.

I was wanting to double-check something…it’s stated in your blog above that:

      3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon)

I’ve been told by other couponers with a blog like yours that Publix considers competitor’s coupons as taking the place of a Publix coupon…meaning, only one STORE coupon (whether it’s Publix or a competitor) and one manufacturer’s coupon is accepted per item. Which is correct?

      • Jenny

        Heather,
Most stores will accept all three. You are going to need to ask your store what they accept. They store gets the money back on the store and the manufacturer so many will not care about adding in the competitor.

        • Jennifer

          Heather & Jenny,

Publix will only accept a store OR competitor and a manufacturer coupon per item. They do NOT get reimbursed for store or competitor coupons, only manufacturers. I don’t understand why everyone thinks they do. They also do not get reimbursed for doubled coupons. I have talked to many store managers and they all say the same thing. Knowing this, it makes me love Publix even more.

          • Jenny

Some Publix stores do accept all three. It depends on the store management.

Also just to clarify so that it does not confuse any new folks. Publix corporate does get compensated for store coupons released for national brand products (there is no store that just kindly advertises for other companies for free). How corporate dispenses those earnings to the store might vary but as a company they are compensated.

            • Mina

Jenny, I just wanted to add to your reply because, even though I understood the compensation aspects of store and MQ’s, I used to think that the individual stores swallowed the cost of accepting Competitor q’s. They don’t. Corporate gives them a cushion for those.

        • Michelle

I really do think this is an individual store policy. In Athens, AL, they used to take a store, competitor and manufacturers but the manager recently told me that you could only use EITHER a store and a manufacturer OR a competitor and a manufacturer…not all three together.

      • Lisa

I think they were in an 8/2 insert called Kellogg’s Fuel for School (in the AJC anyway).

        • Lisa

Sorry, replied to wrong comment. Please disregard.

i just went into publix today in summerville, sc, and they told me they will no longer stack all three…they said it was a corporate decision??

    • Publix has $1.00 off Goodlife Recipe food for cats. The $3.00 coupon from R.P 8/26 makes it $.49
I’m new to this site. I have some extra coupons for the cat food. Is there some place to offer them?
      Bill

    • KathiR

Love your site! I usually cut and paste to a blank page from your Publix sale/coupon list for my grocery list, but next week’s page won’t let me paste–saying the “file is corrupted.” The only difference I see on the page are the boxes. Has anyone else reported this problem?

    • Shiloh Kennedy

Jen, I LOVE the new layout of the commments and the shopping list creator !!! Awesoome !!!

    • Gina Hitt

I am having trouble locating the St. Ives coupon in the SS. Has anyone been able to find this one?

    • Brook

will publix take one of their in store coupons, a manufacturer coupon, and a competitor coupon for one product?

      • Most will only take a manufacturer + Publix store OR a manufacturer + competitor…but I have heard of some stores that will take all three. Just ask at the customer service desk before you start shopping for your store’s policy (and to see who they consider to be a competitor since it varies so much from store to store!).

        • julia

My store recently switched to a manufacturer and either a storee or competitor insted of both.

      • My store in FL considers a Publix coupon a store coupon & will only accept 1 store coupon (either theirs or a competitors) + a manufacturers coupon. I have accidentally had them take more than one store coupon. I realized it after the fact & they apparently didn’t notice.

    • i noticed the mt. olive coupon said it was in the RP well after searching for it and no luck i found that it was in the SS 8/16 just wanted to let yall know

    • Tarin

Jenny, I love all of the new changes. The reply box is going to be a real time saver, too. Thanks!

    • jenny

Thanks for all your hard work to help US save money.

    • Larissa

The Quaker coupon prints but is not a clear copy that I can read. Any suggestions?

      • I was just about to post the same thing. When I pull it up it is not very clear and it almost looks like it is a scanned coupon b/c it has a pair of scissors on the right hand side and then it isn’t clear. any thoughts anyone? is it a legit coupon still?

        • Stephanie

I printed the Quaker coupon. Although the pictures on it look a little fuzzy, all the words and the barcode are very clear. I think the picture just doesn’t look great because I have a crappy printer.

          • jessica

I printed it and yesterday the pic is blurry but they took it ….with no problem :)

        • Larissa

Jess, I wanted to let you know how I found a clear copy. I googled Bilo Quaker coupons and went straightt o their site to print. I hope this helps. Larissa

        • Melissa

Mine was fussy from the bilo site. Publix keyed it in as a store coupon not manufacturer.

    • Rosemary

      Jenny

I am new to this game and thank you so much for your efforts. I do have one question. If you list a coupon as available in either a Red Plum or a Smart Source and it is not there does that mean we are probably getting different versions of the ad? My husband always reminds me when I get a little frustrated that this is free and I breath a little easier. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Thanks again.

      • Chrissy

        Rosemary,

You are right, there may be several variations in what Jenny has listed. It depends on the area you live in. It seems as though larger cities have a better selection of coupons. HTH

    • Brook

The new list printing feature is wonderful. Much easier than the cut and paste into Word I used to do; however, I was wondering if there would be anyway to delete individual coupons from the Shopping list. I used to delete the coupons I don’t have or don’t plan to use. I would just keep the best coupon I had and planned to use at the store. Plus it is less ink waste when I print the list. You do so much and I don’t want to ask for more than you already do, but I just thought I would make the suggestion in case it is easy. Thanks!!!

      • Ln

What I do is click “create my list” and then copy it into a word doc. I still have the list the way it comes up, but now I can delete out the coupons I am not going to use. It’s like the best of both worlds!

    • Christy

I am having a hard time printing any of the coupons from redplum/smartsource…Is anyone else?

      • Shannon

        Christy,

which web browser are you using? Recently, I was having a problem w/ SS coupons because of the Java plugin( I was using Firefox). Once I switched over to IE, I had no problem. Also, a pop-up blocker maybe the problem.

      • Phillis

If you guys find a fix for this please let me know. I have had this problem for a while and tried everything and still can’t print smartsource. I can print everything else. My e-mail address is phillis.rogers58@gmail.com

    • mel

      jenny rocks!

    • I’m noticing that a lot of the coups listed are not in my coupon packets. Butter, Pickles, Waffles, Pancake Mix and Syrup, and I’m not done yet. I get the major circular. Maybe it’s just me, as I’m doing this late at night…

      • Amy

I’m having the same issue.. I not finding alot of the coupons either.

    • Monica

The new Greenwise has a store coupon for the Horizon 3 pack of Milk- makes it a great deal (1.40 for the 3pk)! Cheaper than buying their milk in the lunchroom at school!

    • Monica

Is anyone else having trouble getting the shopping list to come up- I have used this a couple of times and usually don’t have any problems.
      Thanks,
      Monica

    • Kim

      Hey,
Love your site!!! I can’t get the redplum coupons to come up, my computer says that the internet has blocked this site? Any suggestions?
      Tahnsk for all you do!!!!
      Kim

      • lynn

what bwser are you using ? also please make sure you have pop up blocker turned off i had that problem using internet explorer till i disabled the pop up blocker

    • libby

I found a printable Sunny Delight coupon at http://smoothies.sunnyd.com/coupon.php for $0.55 cents off.

    • Maehing O

Jenny there is a target printable for te Slim Fast, making the deal even sweeter! Also, the Cover Girl is a money maker with the cheaper mascara + $1 manufactures coupon , and the $2 Publix coupon. Thanks for all the GREAT work…. if you haven’t heard it enough today THANK YOU AGAIN!

    • Megan

I am probably the only one who didn’t notice the older comments/newer comments link – I had thought that comments were disappearing before I saw this link!

Also, I don’t know about anyone else, but I rec’d a really cute baby coupon book in the mail from Publix with some great diaper/formula coupons in it. I also saw it when I was looking at the Publix weekly ad on their website. These can probably be combined with manuf coupons for some good deals!

Not really sure where to post this, but there are also two coupon books out from Target right now – one with just baby items and the other with general merchandise. All of these coupons can be combined with manuf coupons for some great deals!

      • Jennifer

Where do you get the Target coupon books? I have never seen a coupon book at my target in Greer SC. Thanks!

        • Cori

I got mine in the mail about 4 days ago!I didn’t sign up for anything that I remember.

        • Megan

I also receive mine in the mail.

          • Megan

I didn’t sign up for them, but I did have a baby registry there awhile back. I am guessing this is how they got my info.

    • lynn

i have a silly question maybe some one can answere for me can you freeze the yoplait or yoplus yogurt and or can you freeze the cozy shack pudding thank you for any info you can give

      • I freeze my yogurt when I buy it in big quantities. I also serve it slightly thawed for”frozen yogurt” for the kids. It’s kinda like ice cream! I don’t know about the pudding. The yogurt’s consistancy changes a little after being frozen, but it still tastes great.

      • rydergal

I freeze my yogurt too…it’s the only way I can bring myself to eat it! I’ll let it thaw a bit on my way to work, and eat it while it’s still slushy at my desk. Yummy! I don’t know about the pudding though…the Cozy Shack containers say “do not freeze”, so I haven’t tried it out yet.

      • Kristen

I have frozen the Yoplait Plus in the past. It comes out ok, we still eat it frozen…just call it Fro-gurt and my lil one thinks it is a special treat.

      • lynn

thank you all for the info i knew you could freeze the gogurts but was unsure of any of the other ones and with them being 25cents each that is a stock up price for sure

      • marie

I was going to freeze the Kozy shack too after the last sale but it says on the tub- do not freeze. I’ve frozen butter tubs, sticks, yogurt, coffee creamer, milk etc… with no problem. Can’t tell the difference when it thaws either as long as it thaws in the fridge.

I would say try it and see how it does. Or call/ e-mail the company and ask if it will negatively impact the product.

      • amyt

We never have to worry about as my husband doesn’t mind eating expired yogurt. He believes yogurt and sour cream will “never” go bad=)

        • amyt

We never have to worry about FREEZING

      • Mina

Lynn, you don’t want to freeze pudding unless you are going to eat it frozen. It separates when it thaws. The taste is okay, but the texture isn’t “pudding”.

    • Migdalia

Does anyone know how much the Heinz Gravy 12oz costs that’s needed for the mashed potatoes deal? Thanks!!

      • I read on another site that it was found at a FL Publix for $1.67.

      • Tracie

Publix in Atlanta has the Heinz Gravy for $1.28. Also, there is a coupon for $1 wyb 3 Heinz Gravy, if you click here….

        http://www.heinzgravy.com/coupon.aspx

      • Michelle

I only have heard the name Migdalia once…are you in Madison, AL? Just Curious!

    • Jennifer

Where is the green advantage coupon book at publix? I went to the one in GREER, SC yesterday and all I could find is the yellow one? Do certain stores carry different ones? Thanks

      • lynn

if you are having trouble locating them try the customer service desk sometime they keep them there if they are having problems with some one taking hand fuls of them at a time

    • I found a coupon for Hersheys, Reese’s, etc…buy 2 bags, get one bag free (17-19.75oz bags) on a tear pad in my Publix store. This will go great with the BOGO free sale this week. I posted a pic of the coupon

      http://couponcuttingdivas.blogspot.com/2009/09/great-deal-at-publix-this-week.html

      • karen

Did you find coupon in the candy aisle?

        • kelly

Yes, it was a tear pad on the candy aisle.

    • lynn

are the steam and mash potayos frozen or refridgeratore?

        Dls

    • Michele

There is also a coupon for Free Ritz Crackerfuls when you buy one Ritz Crackers (SS 8/23) This would be a nice bonus if you’re buying the Ritz crackers B1G1.

    • Melissa

Beachnut Baby Cereal is on sale for $1.50 a box. Some of the mulit grain boxes had BOGO coupons on them making them 75 cents each for 2.

    • Patty

Just received the Greenwise Magazine and found a coupon for 0.55 off the Horizon 3-pack milk that is on sale this week and its a store coupon so you could stack with a manufacturers coupon. And, there is a new item, Horizon Little Blends, veggie/fruit yogurt?, which is a $1 off store coupon. Other ones include $1 off Immaculate Cookies (another store coupon), and in maufacturer coupons, $1 off two or more pomegranates from POM, $1 off Smuckers Organic PB or preserves, $1 off Appple & Eve Juices and finally 0.75 off any Amy’s product. None were inserts as these are printed on individual pages within the mag so you should be able to pick these up in the store on the rounder by the door.

    • Cori

TheBanquet coupon I have was in the September All you mag and it is $1/6. I did not have a banquet coupon in my August All you.

      • Cori

Oh, and the Birdseye coupon in the Greenville Paper was for .50 off one bag! Yay!

    • Mary

I take it that Publix will take the printable Bi-L0 $3 off 5 Quaker products right???

      • Jennifer

Yes, but you cannot stack it with the $1 off manufacturers coupon, since both are manufacturers even though it has Bi Lo printed on it. You can use one or the other.

        • Mary

          Thank you Jennifer…

        • Tania

Question on the 3/wyb 5 quaker coupon. can you use 1 coupond for each item? so if you by 5, you get 15 off? does it work that way?

          • Mina

Sorry, but you can only use ONE $3 off 5 coupon for each group of 5 items you purchase. In order to use 5 of them to get $15 off, you would have to purchase 25 of the specified items at once.

    • Megan

Has anyone had their quantity of YoPlus reserved? I would like to be 6 or 8 packs – do you think I will have a problem?

      • I just got back from Publix (Key West, FL) and bought 10 no problem (good thing I like yogurt ;) ).

      • Mina

Six or eight packs shouldn’t be a problem. One thing I’ve learned to do in order to be kind to other shoppers is to place a special order if I want a relatively large number of a certain item, and make sure to get a raincheck on the price if it doesn’t arrive before the sale ends. I think that makes a win/win/win situation. I get the products I need; other shoppers don’t find an empty shelf because one person cleared it; and the store doesn’t lose sales because they unexpectedly ran short of the product because of me.

        • noelle

I just want to say “thank you” Mina! I appreciate your courtesy so much. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone to Publix find empty shelves for items that are BOGO and have a coupon. I have been behind shoppers before who have bought 20 bottles of ketchup or other items and it discourages me so much. I occasionally stock pile, but usually only with a rain check or no more than 4-6 of an item. I’ve learned most things will be on sale again in a few weeks.

But thanks, Mina–your courtesy is appreciated!

    • marie

Does anyone know anything about a deal on beachnut baby food? I saw a lady in publix yesterday and she was buying tons of it. She said she was getting 30 jars for $4 by using a food lion Q and a Q from the paper. I can’t figure out how???

I see the $2 Q from the paper but don’t see a food lion Q.

    • julie

Has anyone had trouble printing teh honey bunches of oats coupon? Mine says it’s printing but it never does.

      • julia

Just be patient it said it to me to but it will print

      • lynn

        have you disabled popup blocker?

    • Erica

I can’t find the Kozy pudding coupons in 8/23, it’s not even listed in the preview for that week in any regions. Where was that coupon?

What Public store where you at?

      • Shanna

Publix on Gervis Street in Columbia, SC had this coupon book today!! (by the Publix sales papers)

    • Stefanie

Does anyone know about how much a box of Pullups is running? I’ve not bought any for awhile (been using my stockpile) but gonna needs some soon and for a total $5 off…don’t know if it is something I can pass up. LOL! But it’s a little drive to publix,so I’m just curious if anyone already knows.

    • Mary

When a store doubles a coupon do they double a $1.25 up to $1.50…I ask because that is the only way that the scenario works for the Aunt Jemima Syrup…..

      • Mary

oops I meant for the Quaker Oats Oatmeal …

        • Bobbie

I think Publix only doubles up to 50cent.

    • Shiloh Kennedy

Can somebody please explain to me how the ecoupon’s work from Upromise.com? Do they count as a manufacture coupon? What can they be stacked with ?

      Thanks!
      Shiloh Kennedy

      • Ln

        Shiloh,
The upromise coupons don’t actually come off of your bill like a regular coupon would. Instead the amount of the coupon is deposited into your upromise account to be used later for college purposes. I don’t even worry about the upromise coupons once I download them onto my shopping cards each month. If I buy something, I always scan my shopping cards (winn dixie, cvs, upromise card at publix, etc.) and if I’ve bought something with a upromise coupon, I know it will deposit the amount for me. Use your paper coupons the way you always have. HTH.

    • DLS

      Jenny,
Thank you so much for the grocery list option. That makes life so much easier to clip the coupons quick with three little ones running around while I am doing it!!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work. You are making our life so much more frugal!!!! Thank you!!
      Dasha

    • lynn

there is a coupon out for 1/2 off nabisco crackers and cookies but i cant find the zip code for it if any one finds it would you please share thank you

    • FYI, there is also a $1off coupon for Quaker rice products in the Oct. Issue of Women’s Health magazine as well.

    • Tania

It put my question as a reply to someone else’s comment:

my question is: on the $3 off wyb 5 quaker products, can you use 1 coupon for each item. i.e. you end up w/ $15 off? i shop @ publix. does anyone know if you can do this? i know when you have a $1 off wyb 2 that you can use one on each item, so does it work that way w/ he quaker coupon as well?

also, i have a $1 off wyb 3 two-liter drinks (publix coupon). can i use a coupon on each 2 liter?

i’m VERY new, so i am still learning all of the little “tricks”. thanks!

      • kim

for the quaker coupon you can use only 1 3.00 wyb 5 coupon for each 5 quaker items you purchase.

        • Tania

actually, they let me use all 3!!!! so I got PAID to buy 3 syrups & 2 mixes.how SWEET is that! today was my BEST trip so far! i saved almost $80!!!!

          • Tania

i meant to say that they let me use 5 of the quaker coupons!

            • Mina

Tania, don’t expect this to happen all of the time. Your cashier made a mistake. She may not have read the coupon. If a q says “$1 off of 2 items,” you can only use ONE for every two. The $3 off of 5 products means that you have to buy five items for each coupon that you use.

Anytime you have a question about how a coupon can be used at your store, stop by the Customer Service desk. Most CS people are really happy to answer questions about coupons.

      • For the Quaker deal I purchased 2 Oatmeal used 1.25/2 An AJ syrup and pancake mix used 1/2 and added another pancake mix and then used the $3/5. Did this twice and it worked fine. Great deal since the AJ products were B1G1F!

    • kasey

Love the checklist….just wish there was a SELECT ALL feature. I print EVERYTHING and search for coupons….then come back and narrow dopwn my list once I see what I’m getting. Let us know if you add that feature. It would be AWESOME!

    • kasey

I really don’t like to be a complainer…maybe this is just me…but is anyone else trying to use the print feature and getting microscopic type on the printout? Could it just be a setting on my computer?

      • Jenny

        Kasey,
After you click the button to make a list, go to Print preview and change it from “Shrink to Fit” to 100%. It will make it look right.

Sorry IE has quirks that are very hard to program around.

    • Freedom

Another succesful Publix shopping trip. Saved $80.42 and spent $42.74.
Also the Glass Plus that was on sale last week was still on sale B1G1 at my Publix in Ooltewah.

    • Cheryl

Does anyone know when the new Green Advantage flyer will be at Publix. The old one expires today.

      • Jenny

It looks like they are taking a week off between booklets so probably look for a new one next Friday.

    • Megan

Is anyone else having problems printing the $1 off Pillsbury grands coupon. It is telling me I have reached the print limit, yet I have never printed this coupon.

      Thanks!

    • Rachel

so i have a free bag with 2 eggos purchase, and 2 dollars off of fresh fruit when you buy 2 eggos. can i use them both, along with $1.00 off of 2 eggos? (3 coupons for 2 boxes of eggos) if i can, how do i convince the cashier? :) thanks. rachel

      • Kim

Rachel, where did you get the $1 off Eggo coupon?

        • Rachel

i dont remember where i got the eggo coupon. i was up north this summer so maybe from one of the grocery stores there?

      • seacoastmom

Rachel, I did this deal this week and it worked just fine :@) After doing the Kellogs Fuel for School deal a bit ago I was stocked on waffles but it is a SWEET deal I couln’t pass it up! Loved the free fruit!!

    • Marie

The DOLE printable for : Dole Fruit, Gel or Parfait Bowls 4pk, at $2.69 — $1.34 ea (50/2 Dole Fruit product printable (play game) ) is 50/1!!! Making it .34 EACH!! Yippeee. I just printed mine (able to print 2 of them) and was shocked to see its off of (1) package not (2).

      • Marie

Yippee. Just got back from my Publix in Acworth GA. The Dole Fruit bowls were BOGO 2.35 (1.18/1.17 each). So the 50/1 (double to 1.00) made them .18 each!! I love it!

      • lynn

mine printed 2.00 off of 6 is it diffrent amounts depending on where you are from?

    • Kelly

Can anyone tell me if the Gainesville, FL stores accept Target as competitors? If so, which ones?

I know for sure that the Publix on Butler Plaza West and Archer takes Target coupons.

        • Hunters Crossing at NW 43rd Street and 53rd Avenue and North Main Street also takes them.

    • lynn

i was wondering if ANYONE knows a website to recomend for mydaughter and friends who live at fort Carson colorado their husbands are deployed in afghnastan and they are all looking to better use coupons so if any one has a site to recomend for them i would be so thankful

      • Amber

        Lynn,

Don’t know of specific blogs but I have suggested to all my out of state friends to google the grocery store they shop at most along with “coupon matchup”. Odds are they’d find one that way. Hope that helps.

I use Babiesrus coupons all the time at my publix..I’ve saved on boxes of huggies and Tide..what a deal!

    • Shanna

I love Publix and this site!! I just saved $115 and spent $73!! I even got 2 boxes of diapers and a large refill of wipes! My best buy today was the Bird’s Eye Vegies for around $.09 a bag, got 14 bags for $1.21!
I had 14 $.50/1 coupons! Thanks again Jenny for this great site!

      • Do the .50 coupons off lightly sauced work on all the steamfresh products? I have several of them, just wondering.

    • Janice

OMG!! I LOVE THE LIST FEATURE!! Sorry to shout! hee, hee! but this helps me out so much!!

    • Sophia

I got a Free Publix Green Bag today after i purchased the B1G1 Keebler cookies, the coupons were in the front of the store in the ‘Advantage Buys’ ad

    • Just a question..does Publix give overage on coupons? I have 50/1 coupon on the steamfresh which are .89 after half off. Coupon would double to 1.00 or would it just double to .89? Thanks!

      • Jenny

The coupon will double to the full amount!

        • Thanks Jenny, I thought so but wanted to make sure so I was prepared for an extra item for the overage.

          • Paricia

Where did you get the 50/1 coupon? Thanks.

I don’t know if anyone would know this but how much is the cheapest chef micheal’s dry food?

      • Patty

The cheapest I have seen Chef Michaels dry food is the smallest bag for $4.26 at Taget. This is for only 1.5 lbs.

        • julia

Do you know anything about Publix pricing?

          • Patty

Unfortunately no. I have to say I first bought this dog food on clearance at a Publix but it has been totally discontinued at the Publix locations I shop at in Greenville SC. If you keep a look out for it, Target will sometimes have a store coupon so you could stack with a manufacturers coupon and you can always get a raincheck at Target if they are out of the smallest bag. Sorry….

    • Nickie

Smart source coupons are not printing – tried Honey Bunches and Olive Oil…. “unknown error”

      • julia

That happened to me on our main computer but it worked when I switched to the laptops.

We have three publixs in my town and everyone of them has a manager that is rude to everyone with coupons. I now just use manufacturer coupons for one per item, instead of a store or a competitor and a manu., and they still are rude to me.

      • libby

They also accused me of copying coupons. I said I would never do such a thing and to check the codes on them, but they did not believe me.

        • Misty

You ought to write a friendly but firm letter to Publix via their website. I have done this on a few occasions and always had the unsatisfactory situation remedied. Not sure what they will do about rude managers, but it’s worth a try.

    • jennifer

target has a printable coupon for 50 cents off tropicana orange juice!

    • The printable coupon listed under the Eggo waffles is actually for Eggo pancakes. Anyone know if that will be a problem when I get to the register?

    • Had my first unpleasant experience at Publix today. This morning a manager rang up my purchases – 32.47 before coupons and 7.04 spent oop. I had a $5 off of $30 (publix mailed to me) and multiple coupons. I handed all q’s to him in order – the $5.00 off first. He put it to the side, scanned all the other coupons and then didn’t scan the 5.00 off. I let him finish and looked at my receipt to make sure I hadn’t missed him scan it – he walked away as I was looking at the receipt. He didn’t scan it. I walked up to him at the customer service desk, said, excuse me, but it seems as if you didn’t scan my $5.00 off coupon. He said to the lady behind the desk (word for word): “Give this woman her $5.00 so she can get out of here with her free groceries!” I shop at this publix all the time, and have never been treated like this! I have called corporate and am awaiting a phone call. Hopefully this is a one time only bad customer service experience!

      • libby

I have been having more and more issues lately aswell today they told me that I couldn’t even have a coupon for each item. Long story short I had them take a lot of stuff off my reciept.

      • ET

How horrible! Please let us know which store this is so we can avoid shopping there if it is in our area.

      • Angel

Yes, what store was this? That is horrible, and not at all what I’ve come to expect from Publix. Sorry that happened to you!

    • Karen

      Total before coupons: $129.93

      After coupons/store discount: $20.21

      I saved $109.72!!!

    • lynn

saved 173.10 spent 29.22 woohoo the employies act like i am stealing when i use coupons and the better my savings i have the ruder they get with me … i dont mind them looking over my coupons with a magnifing glass cause i always have them in order and have read all the fine print so they76 dont find issue with them….i think some one shoplifting has it easier than a person using coupons somedays any ways happy couponing all

      • Carolin

I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve been using coupons for less than a year and have thought about giving them up several times because of how rude cashiers can be to me. I’m just like you though when it comes to them looking over my coupons. I make sure that all my coupons are legit. I want to be able to get a good deal, but I also want the store to get reimbursed for the coupon that I use.

        • I have had the same experience myself, you would think that it was coming out of their pocket! But it is not just Publix, it is everywhere I think. When I go to Bloom and get 70.00 worth of groceries for 3.00 they just kinda look at me like I am doing something wrong! Maybe they are all just upset because we are all getting such good deals! and they wish they could be coupon divas like all of us! LOL

          • lynn

i hold head up high and will keep on using the coupons and get the best deals i can it is realy fun to chalenge myself to see how much i can save and i love reading what the rest of you save Jenny has made it easy for us to use coupons and find great deals so to eeryone out there using coupons ligit. please continue to be proud and hold your head up high it is nice to seen such a group of people finding a fun rewarding way to stay with in or under a budget in these tough times and as we have learned all of have a store to why this is important to us so keep up the good work ladies and a few gents out there…. thank you Jenny for your help and guidence

          • Jennifer

I don’t think they are upset with couponers in general. Please keep in mind they have MANY people who push & abuse the system. As for Publix, it does come out of their pockets. All employees are stock holders, so they benefit from the profits of the store. Stores do not get reimbursed for doubled, store & competitors coupons, so they may view it as coming out of their pockets. It does NOT make it right for them to treat any customer rudely or poorly, but I always try to put myself in their shoes.

    • penny saver

i printed 2 ronzini $1.00 off coupons and they have different exp dates but seem to have the same bar code??? can i use both??

    • Angela

I cannot get the Quaker coupon to print. Does anyone have a link that I could use perhaps? Thanks

      • Angela

        Nevermind…it finally came through!

    • Sarah

How do you use ecoupons for Upromise at Publix? Spray and Wash is on sale this week with a UPromise ecoupon but I cant figure out how to use it?

      • Jenny

You need to stop by customer service and get a Publix Upromise key card. Then you can load the coupons using that card number and get the savings in your account when you shop.

    • Tammy

I had one thing on my list (the mustard) that was not on sale at our Alabama publix. Also, last week, 2 of the items were not on sale. Any idea of stores are different from state to state, and if so, which state is this site based out of?

      • Tammy

Oh, I just also want to add that I think this was my best shop at Publix. I spent 41 dollars and save 136 dollars. I both 65 items I think. THANKS JENNY!!

    • Sarah

Can anyone tell me if the Eggo pancakes are included in the sale? Thanks!

    • Julie

What zip code works for the RP site to give you the Zatarans coupons?

    • Julie

Are there different types of Kraft food & family magazines? The one I get is free and I think it comes quarterly, my current one says Fall 2009. It didn’t have the Starbucks or Capri Sun coupons. It does have advertisements for each, but neither had coupons.

    • Susan

There is a $.50 off 1 coupon (can be doubled), for the Birds Eye Steamfresh, on coupons.com, zip 12211. Last day, but hope it will help someone. Free veggies.

Another unpleasant experience at Publix on County Line Road in Madison, AL. Most of the emloyees are very helpful and I know quite a few of them by name, but this past Sunday I was a little offended by their behavior.

I had 4 B1G1 coupons for the Boost Kid Essentials and 4 $5.00 off coupons for the Kid Essentials. All manufacturer. I also had a $5 off $25 coupon from Rite-Aid. The Boost Kid Essentials were $9.99, Wal-Mart (Athens) has them for $7.00. Because of the customer service at Publix, I would rather pay a premium than to deal with the thirft store (crowded, people stopping in the middle of the aisles, rude customer service) feel of Wal-Mart. I bought 8 multi-packs and nothing else.

The cashier was tentative about taking thr coupons. He was a teenager so I understood… I don’t want anyone to feel like they are going to be in trouble for any coupons that I submit. He asked another cashier, and she said they were fine. He was still hesistant about taking the coupons. He was so slow that another customer put their items back in his cart and wento to another check-out lane.

After the cashier entered the Rite-Aid coupon and 7 of the Boost coupons the system would not take the last B1G1 coupon. He had a shift leader come up and she had me take out all of my items out the cart and put the coupons with each item. She then said that the computer would not let him enter the coupon, and she was not offering up a reason why. She then said they couldn’t accept any copied coupon. She was trying to say my coupon from Rite-Aid was copied, which it was not. All my coupons are black and white because I use a b/w printer with a toner. All of this was very embarassing.

Instead of creating a fuss I just took the coupon back, and paid for my items. While driving home I figured out what had happened. I had more coupons than items. I had 8 Kid Essentials and 8 Mfr coupons with 1 competitor coupon. This happened to me twice before due to stacking, but the manager would just come over and enter a code.

I called the store back andd I spoke with the shift leader that i had dealt with at the store. I explained the situation to her and she said that she doesn’t have an override key and that I could come back and talk to another person. I just had to being in all the items. So I turned around and headed back.

Back at the store, I spoke to another person. Which happend to be a shift leader that I had always had a positive experience in the past, and for some reason he was like he was trying to be difficult. He just kept saying the system would not let you use two coupons on one item. I told him that I had one coupon for each item and a comp. coupon. I just had more coupons than items due to the comp. one. He then said I should talk to a manager and that she would be able to explain it better.

I said ok and he called a manager who told him to call the store manager up. The store manager came up and I explained the situation to him. He asked how many items I had and how many mfr. coupons that I had… I told him 8 plus one comp. coupon. He counted the items from the receipt and the coupons. He then turned to the shift leader and told him that I was owed $9.99. He also said that it was explained to him like it was a cash back situation. My total was $31 pluys change so it would have taken a lot for me to get cash back.

I told him that I was a honest couponer only trying to get the best deal, not abuse te system. I even told him about a time that I had to return some items and that I told the store staff that I had used coupons on the items, I wanted to ensure that I only received back what I had paid out of pocket, and not the value of the coupon as well. That in my opinion are not actions of a shady person.

I really appreciated how the manager handled the situation, and because of that I will still frequent this Publix, but it seems to be that unpleasant experiences are becoming more of the norm than the exception.

      • What’s happening with Publix?

Rose, I completely agree with you about unpleasant experiences seem to be becoming thing norm. Why are couponers lothed so much? Because we take too much time (always apologizeing, though we shouldn’t need to, everyone would do what we do if they had the patience and education), because we save SO MUCH? I don’t know why, but I feel as if my store is always ‘watching’ me. Granted, I made a mistake ONE TIME by useing too many competitor coups (Publix and other comp. not knowing this was not the policy for this Publix), however, I offered to bring it all back to take care of it all, (they didn’t want that, which I was glad about) but since, I really am feeling more and more like a criminal. I don’t quite understand it, they get all the money back from the corporations. Why do people seem to dislike seeing others benefit from something they aren’t doing themselves? My cashier, though, was flabbergasted, in a good way, at the amount I saved. At least I have one friend… *L*

        • Emma

I have 2 local Publix that I use about 4 miles either way from my home – one is fantastic they will take anything and never ask, I think they would aceept homemade coupons if they were offered!!!! The other store is quite new and as a new couponer I asked at customer service if they accepted competitor coupons (namely Target), yes no problem. Went to the store a few days later and some old busy body on the check out started making a big scene about Target coupons and that we don’t aceept them etc etc. I told her firmly that your manager said you did and she said that there are 2 managers and one does and one doesn’t!!!!?????? Her attitude was as though the money was coming out of her pocket, however I had saved nearly $80 on a $110 cart of shopping so maybe she was jealous!!! Being British and having a sarcastic sense of humor I asked if I could have a copy of the manager’s work schedules so I know when I can shop there with my Target coupons – funnily enough they did not readily offer it!! But accepted my coupons with tight lips – don’t feel like criminals think of it as a moral victory – makes me smile every time I leave the store and look at my savings!!!!!

          • Jennifer

I commented above & will say again, Publix employees are stock holders. Which means they share in the profits of the store. If they are cautious, that is one reason why. Another is people trying to abuse the system. If it continues, stores will stop accepting different types of coupons. And who does that hurt.. us. I feel for these retail employees everytime I am in any store. Lets put ourselves in their shoes. They are just trying to do their jobs. Name calling is never necessary.

      • Kayla

I actually work at Publix, and I’m all for couponing. However, they were right. At my store, If you have a BOGO voupon that covers both items, so technically you shouldn’t have been able to use the $5 off ones. So actually, you got lucky.

    • Emma

Not sure what offer or Advantage Buy this comes under but Publix currently have Coppertone Nutra Sheild Dual Defense 70 Sunscreen Lotion and Sunscreen Face Lotion on offer, however watch your stores, one store near me has it for $6.99 (usually $10.99 with $4.00 off) however went to another Publix about 4 miles away and their usual price was $11.99 with only $2.00 off, manager told me that the stores are all graded and the prices vary in each store according to location. However if you go to the Coppertone website there is a $5.00 off coupon available so pick the right store and it’s only $1.99!! We live in Florida so stocked up for a year!

    • Jennifer G

Can I just say I love this site? I just bought 6 packages of Keebler Fudge Shop cookies, 4 boxes of Eggo Waffles, used 6 coupons for Keebler cookies, and tomorrow I mail in the Kellogg’s Fuel for School rebate; I made $0.60 buying it all! I love free groceries. I also got a free pork roast at Kroger! I love southern savers! Thanks so much for all your work, Jenni!
