  3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)

    • paige

      thanks jenny!!!

    • Lindsay

There’s a PDF coupon for Curly’s on their website if you sign up. http://www.curlys.com/devweb2/coupon.htm

      Makes them $1.85 each!

Thanks for the early matchups…YOU ROCK!!

    • Beth

I am new at this-WOW-you are my hero-
As easy as you make it for a “newby” there is so much to learn-
any suggestions from anyone on how to take those baby steps toward being like you-
wish I were close enough to take your class but I live in GA
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to helping ALL of us but certainly for me!

    • MelRae

So, Jenny…I am noticing a trend here….Publix will sometimes have items on sale that Kroger had on sale just a week or two prior. Is there some kind of “cycle” to the sale items? Or is there a way we can know ahead of time? Maybe this is just wishful thinking! lol!

I got two Kraft mayos at Kroger for $1.75 each last week at the mega sale. Still a good price…but I did not need mayo right away. Now Publix has it for $1.25 (with coupon).

Thanks for doing the matchups! Wish there were a coupon for Goldfish (the 11 month old likes them!)

    • Jill

The coupon on the Curly’s website says it expired 12/31/08.

    • As always, thanks for your hard work! I appreciate it very much!!

    • Hannah Long

Jenny, the Curly’s BBQ coupon expired on 12/31/08. I just went to the site to try and print. It’s still there, but I don’t know if Publix will take it. Sometimes you get that dreaded coupon nazi for a cashier! :-)

    • Kelly

      Good morning Jenny!

The Bayer, Aleve and Alka Seltzer deals from last week will apply to this week also. The publix green advantage flyer coupon doesn’t expire until January 30th and the above products are regularly priced at the amounts that I sent you last week. Have a great day!

      starbucksgirl

    • Hannah Long

The ad also has 32oz bottles of gatorade 10/$10, so you can use the $.55 off coupon from the yellow advantage flyer and get the 32oz bottles for $.45 cents each.

    • Gini

Will Publix take a Family Dollar coupon?

    • Jenny

They should if their is one in your area! Is there a good coupon we should know about? :)

    • christi

Yes in the Family Dollar flyer on Sunday or was it in the mail??? Anyway, it is $5 off.

    • Hannah Long

I live in florida and got the family dollar coupon in the mail yesterday. Thanks for the reminder Gini.

    • Beth W

HI Jenny – does either of the publix in our areas (on 378 or harbison next to target) take the walgreens ES coupons?

    • Lindsay

Bummer…I printed a bunch of the Curly’s and was so excited to stock up (DH loves them), i didn’t even check the expiration date. I guess at BOGO it’s still worth stocking up. Sorry for the bad link.

    • Jenny

Beth – To be honest i have never tried using a Walgreens coupon, I tend to just stick with Target and Food Lion coupons. There are many from around the south though that are using them without problems. If you try it let me know what they say :)

    • Gini

My Publix would not take the Target coupons today. Has anyone asked corporate about it?

    • Gini

I was told it was company policy.

    • Amber

My publix took the expired Curlys coupon.

    • Becca

My publix will only take grocery stores as competitors, they won’t stack, and they don’t honor the penny sunday item! southwest georgia. bagger said we are in the “jacksonville zone” or something and we go by their rules. :(

    • Matt

I just checked with my local Publix here in the Tallahassee area and they stated that they do not consider Family Dollar to be a competitor, just major grocery stores and Target. Not sure about CVS or Walgreens. Based on what they said, I don’t think they do. Just a little bit of clarification on the BOGO for Publix. If I have 2 $1/2 coupons, can I use them both if I get a total of 2 items (1 purchased, 1 free) or do I need to get 4 items (2 purchased, 2 free). I want to get the best deal but not try something I shouldn’t.

    • Jenny

To use (2) $1/2 you would have to get 4 items 2 purchased 2 free.
I grew up in Tally (even stayed for college) very exciting to see folks from there!!

    • Matt

Okay thanks Jenny. Great job with the site as well. That is the method that I’ve always done. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t cheating myself.

    • SeeLifeMarvels

      Hey All –

I called the Curly’s Consumer Affairs Department earlier today and just checked their coupon site tonight – 8:00pm CST – and discovered it was down. The Consumer Affairs person said they’d correct the date on the web immediately. Additionally, she was mailing me 2 coupons today in the hopes they arrive before the Publix sale ends. Their phone number is 612 920-3400. Also, she wasn’t sure if Publix would accept the expired coupon, but I see Amber was able to use it, so I will try as well.

Thanks everyone for the information and tips!

    • Jessica

Can you use the $1/1 Velvetta printable with the BOGO sale? I think when I printed it off a couple weeks ago it was for the 32 oz or larger…or am I thinking of the .55/1 insert coupon?

    • Marie

I used the $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon at Publix last week :) The very nice cashier asked his manager, Andrew, and he said it was a competitor. I was very pleased.
Thanks, again, for your site. You’re very much appreciated.

    • Shannon

I used a $10 off $50 coupon from CVS at my Publix here in Florida.. I just asked on a whim and they asked the Manager there and he said “Yes” we take it.. boom my shelf price was $139 and after my Q’s and CVS Coupon I paid $52.00.. I was excited.. Like I always say.. it does not hurt to ask… whats the worse they can say?! “No”.. 9 times out of 10 when I ask I get a “YES”!!

    • Amanda

Does Mission email the coupon? I signed up but can’t link to the coupon.

    • Quen

Amanda- Just log back in and click print coupon.

    • Quen

Does anyone know which Muir Glen products ( with the $1 cpn. ) would be free or close to it? Thanks!

    • Hannah Long

My Publix had non-expired Curly’s coupons right above the BBQ!!! Also, they had no problem taking the Family Dollar $5 off coupon that came in the mail this week. Lastly, they’re having a great deal on Miller Lite. The 18 pack of bottles is on sale for $11.99 and if you buy 2, you get a $20 MIR. I spent $113, saved $108 and got a $20 MIR. THANK YOU JENNY!!!

    • Beth

THe Muir Glen tomato paste is .99, regular price.

    • tutti

i don’t understand where how to redeem the “-$1 off fresh produce when you buy one Pam No-Stick Cooking Spray (makes it FREE)”. should it be automatically deducted off my total?

    • Kelly

Marie, congratulations. I’m glad you’re Publix let you use that $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon. My Publix informed me that Rite Aid is NOT a competitor. :( I did, however, use the $5/$50 GFS Marketplace coupon that came in the mail and I’m going to try and use the $5/$25 Family Dollar coupon that Hannah mentioned (thanks for posting your ability to use that coupon Hannah)! FYI…it helps to bring in the flyer that the coupon was attached to so that the manager can see that it is a competitor by looking at all of the GROCERIES in the ad. Smile.

    • Kelly

      Beth/Jenny,

I asked my store manager about Walgreens coupons this week. YMMV, however, she indicated that they would take the Easy Saver coupons that are for grocery items but not the $5/$25 coupons that we routinely get for both Walgreens/CVS. She said that if the coupon was for a store item then they will take them.

However, I went to two different stores last week and was told that I could use it at one and that I couldn’t use it at another store. I purchased the Loreal Vive shampoo/conditioner at one store and got it for free. I purchased it at another store and had to pay $2 for each. I just returned them the next time I went to the store (I feel like I live at Publix sometimes so it’s no big deal to return items).

Anyway, I think that you’ll have less of a problem if you bring in an Easy Saver coupon for a grocery item. But if they don’t take it then just return it.

    • Brooke

Is the Green Advantage Flyer available in Florida? I can never find it at my Publix. Are they typically at the front door with the weekly adds and the Yellow Advantage Flyer? Thanks for all you do!

    • Jenny

They are in FL too. That is the flyer that has all the personal care products advertised and the yellow advertises all the food. A new one is set to come out Sunday so start looking soon.

    • Kathy

Where did you find the $1 off produce coupon if you buy Pam?

    • Jenny

Kathy, I haven’t see that coupon actually but a few readers have found it at the front of their stores near the weekly ads.

    • Nikki

The TGI Fridays Party Size snacks are 50% off and there is a $2 off one party size box in the BIG GAME PLAYS coupon book available at Publix. This would make them about $3 and something. They are originally around $10! I am gonna stock up because my hubby loves the potato skins!

    • Sherry

I can’t find the Kellog’s cereal coupon in the RP 1/18? I live in the Cola., SC area. Help! Why isn’t it in there?

    • anna

      Dear jenny,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your website..i’m a new mom and i really need to save money..
      i have a question for you…
what i should do if every time a shop a pubblix they don’t scan all my coupon ..i realize that when come home..it’s hard to pay attention everything when i’m shopping with my baby..thiis the 4 time that happen
yestarday i last $10.00 worth of coupon tha they did’y scan.
      thank you..

    • Jenny

Anna- are these coupons they are taking and putting into their draw but not taking off your bill? If they are taking them but not scanning them then at the end of their shift their draw will not balance. They have to add together coupons plus cash to balance with the total sold. You can always call the store when you get home and notice it and they will see that you are right when the cashier balances out. I have had this happen before and I called and then brought in the receipt and they credited me back the money (in cash) that they had messed up on.

If these are coupons that you forget to hand over you can go straight to customer service (while you are still in the store) and hand them your receipt and the coupons and they will hand you cash.

    • anna

      Thanks jenny..
They a coupons that they put in their draw without scanning…:(
i’m going to call the store…it just bother me that they act like i’m bothering them every time a pull out my coupon..they make me fell like i’m trying to steel from them…i think it’s a wrong attitude expecialy because i started spending my money a publix when a start using coupons i could’t not afford it before!

    • Quen

      Thanks Beth!
The Muir Glen tomato paste was $1.09. Still a great deal! And free after the overage from competitor coupons.

    • Tara

Just so you know – one of the Publix Cashiers told me last weekend that if you forget to give them a coupon – bring it back with your receipt and they will give you money back!?!? I never knew that.

    • Kelly

Just in case anyone is going to Publix in the next few hours (hello West Coasters). LOL. I received my Publix Family Style Magazine in the mail today and it had several store coupons in it that made some of the items FREE or close to free when coupled with manufacturer’s coupons (i.e. Welch’s Sparkling Grape Juice, Welch’s 6-pack of 100% juice and Mott’s Apple Juice for Tots). You have to buy these items TONIGHT to get the deals though as all 3 manufacturer coupons expire today. Hope it works out for you!

    • Margie

The Eight o’clock coffee $1 off coupons expire 1/31 – my stores are militant about expiration dates; although I am still getting one free, I’d like the extra $1 off.

    • TracyE

      Hey Everyone,

I ran across an unpublished special in Publix today. Any flavor of Sabra Hummus is 2 for $5.00. Use with last week’s (1/25) SS coupon $1.50 off makes them $1 each. I bought 7 of them. $35 worth of Hummus for $7.00. Gotta love it!

Another unadvertised special is Tropicana OJ is 2 for $6. I had a coupon for $1.00 off 2.

For those of you in the Charleston area, I discovered today that the Park West Publix is a lot more co-operative in accepting competitor coupons than other Publix stores in the area. The store manager, who we spoke to today, said they would take any store as long as it was not a store that is unheard of in the area. He did make mention that they just do not like when the policy is abused by people who bring in a stack of 10 or more for one item and stock up. Maybe the stores who are more stringent on that policy are feeling too many people are abusing the system.

Jenny, This is my first post on your site and I just want to say thank you for all the information you so graciously provide each and every week. I have only been super-couponing since Jan. 11th and I have saved an amazing amount of money. I hated going grocery shopping before, but now I love it. In fact, my husband now enjoys grocery shopping with me. Without your site, I would not have the time to get it all together every week. God Bless you!

      Anna-
One way I make sure all my coupons are scanned is to hand them to the cashier after everything has been rung up. If the cashier feels the need to rifle through the bags then so be it. You can watch and hold your baby up to watch the money coming off your bill- my son loves to do this. Also- Add up your coupons before you go in and then look at the coupon savings line at the bottom of your receipt before you walk away. Don’t let the cashier intimidate you. Those coupons are put out to be used! If your store gives you a problem- call the corporate office- They are very willing to listen if you’ve experienced a problem.

I cannot find the zip code for purina

There’s a target coupon for V-8 or V-8 fusion (.50/1) that combined with the manu q would make the juice almost free.

I am just getting started and have found that several of the coupons that you list are not in my Sunday paper. Also, could you tell me what the yellow advantage buy flyer is and where I can find it?
      Thanks!

Math Question: If the Cheerios Mix is $2.53 BOGO and I have a $0.50/1 coupon, doesn’t that make them $0.76 each (instead of $0.26 which is listed)?

      Thanks for all you do!

    • Jenny

The item will ring up half price at $1.26, your .50/1 coupon doubles at Publix to be a $1 off coupon, so that makes it .26 cents

Amy – Most coupon inserts are different based on regions and the size of paper distribution. I try to list most of the variations of them so you will find some you don’t have at all, and them some that you have a different value of.
The Yellow advantage Buy Flyer is a flyer that is at the front of the store near the weekly ad. There is a green one with health items and the yellow one with food items. Both have coupons.

Jenny, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this every week. I am able to print the list, gather the coupons and know just what I am going to purchase and makes my shopping trip so much more enjoyable and rewarding! I actually enjoy going to the store now, knowing that I am saving money and get more for the dollar spent. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Do have one question, where do I find the $1 off fresh produce when you buy one Pam No-Stick Cooking Spray (makes it FREE)?

Hey, what is the “celebrate kimberly clark booklet”? I asked at customer service and they didnt know (our publix just opened in December{yippeee} and they arent really up to speed on some things yet)

    • Hi Jenny,

I just read from another site that Johnsonville sausage is 2 for $6 and there is a $5 coupon from this link: http://gameday.johnsonville.com/

so if you buy 3 packs, only costs $4 which is about $1.30 each pack.

I am not sure if Publix will take the coupon as it say only redeem at Albertson and etc… but our local Publix always takes competitors coupons, they even take Walgreens and because of that I got lots of L’oreal shampoo for free this week (in fact, I made money out of it cos it was 2 for $2.99 and there is a $4/2 at Walgreen’s Easy Saver Booklet and I am giving away 2 L’oreal shampoo in exchange for a chocolate pop corn recipe).

      Blessings,
      Jamy
