If you haven’t taken advantage of the Sam’s Club Living Social deal I posted about Monday, you still have a chance!  They had such a huge response that they decided to extend the sale one more day.

For $45 you can get a one-year long membership package, (reg $79), plus you’ll get a $2o Sam’s Gift Card and $19.84 worth of food vouchers.  In the end after the gift card and vouchers that means the membership only cost $5.16!

Normally I would say that the savings wouldn’t ever cover the cost of joining, but on a deal like this you are bound to recoup the joining cost.

If you’re looking to become a member of a warehouse club, then this would be a great time to join!

does anyone know if this can be used to renew a membership?

      • Heather

wondering the same thing, mine expired a couple weeks ago and we haven’t renewed it yet.

If you look at the definition of New Membership, it says that it is anyone who does not currently hold a valid membership. Ours expired a few months ago so I am simply going to set up a new account and get new cards rather than “renew” my old membership.

          • southernscrappn

very good thinking! I will call about this tommorow and ask, someone on here stated your name is in the system for 2 years after your membership expires…

The “Fine Print” from the living social site says:
        – Valid for new Sam’s Club Members only
        – New Member is defined as someone who does not have a currently valid membership
        – Offer is not valid for renewals

Ours Sams Club is only $35.00 to join for a year.

    • Jamie

I don’t see a Sam’s membership for $79. I only see the $40 and $100. It also says new members only. It still looks like a good deal due to the $20 gift card & food vouchers.

      • Guest

Yep, only $40 and $100 for the plus one…still a great deal

    • Okay which membership is this for the advantage here is 40 the advantage plus is 100

      • April

It is for the $40 membership. The $100 one is definitely not worth it unless you only shop there for everything! We did buy the $100 one because they gave you a free $25 gift card and you can change to the advantage membership and get $60 back at any point in time. So we basically got the $40 advantage and a $25 gift card.

    • shannonk

Must be for the Advantage membership, not Advantage Plus. It says “$79.84 value” and that equals $40 membership + $20 gift card + $19.84 food vouchers.

    • April

we have actually found the membership to be worth it even when you pay the full $40 fee just with getting tire and auto repairs there. All that to say that this is an AMAZING deal! And I just renewed my membership last month so I’m kicking myself now.

    • Andrea

I think it’s worth the savings on gas alone. I’d rather get gas from Sam’s and it be less than other stations than have to buy things I don’t need for FuelPerks.

    • Lynn Kramer

Thanks for the heads up! We let our membership lapse a few months ago. If I can’t set up a new account with this, I’ll simply give it to my niece as a gift so it’s a win-win situation!

      • Alissabeth

You have to have lapsed for 2 years+ or your name will still be in the system.

        • southernscrappn

thank you for the heads up on this! I had a few friends who also grabbed this, and their membership just ran out last month. They thought they could use this on their new one. Geez this deal is becoming a pain..

          • Eric S

Your complaining again? Its called a promo to gain new customers.

            • southernscrappn

Thanks Eric..your a bright one, congrats on knowing what a promo is…the point is their “fine print” is not the best by any means.

    • southernscrappn

They let a statement out today that they extended it and now wont be available for use until the 8th. We are not happy with it as it first stated it would be ready for use on the 7th, now it wont be till the 8th. rediculous that they can change the “small print”. We have family coming in tommorow evening and took the day off for sams club shopping tommorow..even after calling they cant do anything about. Not a happy customer.

Really? Its one day to use all your free coupons. Get a grip.

        • southernscrappn

This may be why living social is having money issues..changing their policy AFTER you have purchased a deal…

    • Christa

The promotional value is valid until June 18, so I would think that if your membership expires prior to that, you could let it expire and then since you would not be a current member you could activate this new membership. Sadly mine doesn’t expire until August.

    • rhonda

They should do nice deals for there current long time members. That would be awesome. renewed a couple weeks ago. $100.00 dollars

    • ozmv

I bought it. What items are cheaper there than with coupons and bogo’s at regular stores?
