I did not have a good experience with these certificates ; many of the restuarants said they no longer deal with the company after several months.

I tried to use my first one a few days ago and the restaurant said they don’t take them.  Very disappointed.

      • Rachel N

I haven’t used these in a while, but in the past, they’ve been terrific, so long as you make sure you read the stipulations very well that come with the certificate. I can’t believe a restaurant wouldn’t take it – boo for your troubles : (

You know… most wait staff don’t even deserve their tip, but forcing me to leave 18%!!!!! That is rediculous, and also, if it’s a gift certificate, why is there a minimum to spend? Never again

      • my buddy’s mom makes $71 hourly on the computer. She has been unemployed for 5 months but last month her pay was $8850 just working on the computer for a few hours. Here’s the site to read more… CashLazy.com

MOST WAIT STAFF DO DESERVE A TIP!  You may not realize it but they typically only make $2-$3 an hour and rely heavily on our tips.  I try to tip 20% if they do a good job.

So are these a rip off? (kind of) Did i understand right, there is a minimum to spend to use the certificate?

    • Donnakovarick

Yes they are a good deal but there is always a minimum amount that you have to spend so you will still spend money at the restaurant. Say you pay $5 for a $25 yes you get $20 off but you will have to spend an additional $15 at the restaurant plus tip so really you’ve spent almost $30 for say 2 people when you may have spent less had you not had the certificate.

BUYER  BEWARE – Go to the site first and make sure that there are restaurants near you listed AND call the restaurants and make sure that they are accepting the coupons (many are not and the website still lists them).  AND it is true what others have written that you will often end up spending more than you normally spend for a dinner out in order to meet the requirements of the coupon.

It can be a decent deal for places that you would not normally visit, but IMHO the pickings are slim and not worth the hassle.
